River Power, Shadow Work, and the Flow of Creation
2025/12/15
Carrigan Ham returns to the podcast to dive deep into the River force of nature—its gifts, challenges, patterns, and shadow work. This is the third episode in our elemental series together, and it's overflowing with insight, earth science metaphors, and soulful encouragement for those who feel deeply, move fluidly, and think in many tributaries at once.
Carrigan is a rare gem—a brilliant thinker who weaves together earth science, body-based healing, Jungian psychology, and spiritual insight. Together, we explore the essence of River types and what it means to work with, rather than against, your watery, sensitive, flowing nature in life and business.
Inside This Episode, You'll Hear: What it means to carry River Medicine—the gift of weaving many streams of knowledge into a coherent flow.
Why Rivers need banks—and how structure is not the enemy of freedom, but the ally of clarity and impact.
How shadow work supports River types in embracing healthy containment without stifling their flow.
The geological beauty of river deltas and headwaters, and how they mirror the creative process.
A powerful practice to identify the spectrum of your personal traits and unlock growth through paradox.
The difference between devotion and discipline, and why "consistency" doesn't have to mean rigidity.
How to lovingly regulate your nervous system around structure so you can stop resisting the banks that help you bloom.
This episode is for anyone who's ever felt too complex, too tender, too overflowing with ideas—and just wants a way to make their creative work move. River power isn't about taming yourself—it's about learning how to channel your natural brilliance without losing yourself in the flood.

Copy That Feels: The Art of Embodied Messaging
2025/11/15
What if your best copy didn't come from your head—but from your hips, your heart, or your hilarious inner weirdo? In this playful and powerful conversation, I'm joined by my longtime friend, mentor, and colleague Carly Raemer to talk about writing from the body, not just the brain.
Carly is a copywriter, energy worker, and mystic strategist with a gift for saying the thing your audience didn't know they needed to hear—right from the center of their lived experience. In this episode, she reveals how she tunes into the energetic field of her clients, writes through their hands and eyes, and uses body-based awareness to create copy that's funny, felt, and wildly effective.
Whether you're drowning in your own overthinking or stuck staring at a blank screen, this episode offers a new way in. A way that starts in your body, not a headline formula. A way that trusts your truth more than any algorithm.
Inside this episode:
Why writing from your head alone leads to numb, "off" copy
The energetic practice Carly uses to attune to her audience
How she speaks to the felt experience of her readers, not just their pain points
A real-time somatic exploration of how your belly, heart, and throat each "speak" differently
The role of humor, desire, and even erotica in finding your true voice
What to do when your business writing feels flat, formulaic, or like it's missing you
This episode is a masterclass in writing honest, embodied copy—and it's also a reminder that you're not broken if writing feels hard. You might just be trying to write from the wrong part of yourself.

The Key to Managing It All Without Holding It All in Your Head
2025/10/15
On this episode, I'm sitting down with systems strategist and business manager Nicole Neer for a real-talk conversation about managing chronic illness while running a thriving business.
Nicole lives with 12 chronic conditions which dramatically shape how she approaches time, energy, and work. Together, we explore the behind-the-scenes systems she's built to stay grounded, deliver consistently for clients, and honor her body's ever-changing capacity.
This isn't about perfection. It's about honesty, discipline, and the radical act of organizing your work to support your actual life—not the fantasy version of yourself.
Inside this conversation:
How Nicole uses ClickUp as an external brain to manage energy and organize daily work
Why the "three-task rule" keeps her business moving even on low-energy days
A real-world look at the Spoon Theory and how to use it to pace your work week
How honesty and boundaries with clients create trust, not fear
Why showing up "messily" can still be powerful and professional
And how entrepreneurs with variable capacity can still lead with integrity, impact, and grace
If you've ever wondered how to actually build your business around your brain, this episode will feel like a deep exhale and a clear next step.

Money and ADHD with Rachel Duncan
2025/02/22
As I say in the Business by Nature podcast introduction, when the world is telling us to do business one way, what happens when we do it our own way?
If you've ever said:
I'm sh*t with money.
I've always been bad with money.
I'm a failure.
I can't do this right.
I can't talk to my parents about money anymore.
I ought to be better at this, and it terrifies me.
I feel like I should be in a better financial place than I am.
I actively avoid my money, or I flat out forget about it.
My parents have bailed me out more times than I care to admit.
Tune into this episode to understand what's ADHD, what's culture, and what's generational differences and all the different intersections that play out. Duncan has a similar way of thinking. She says, "You haven't done the rest of life the way everyone else does it, so why would you do money and business the way everyone else is doing it?"
Rachel runs the Money Healing Club, which she dubs "the softest place to land in personal finance." She used to try to separate her two life passions of Financial Therapy and Art Psychotherapy, but as clients found her, she realized the two weave together for deep money healing that ripples out beyond personal finance. Art is healing, and it's a powerful way to move through blocks without linear pushing.

Rachel shares some of the financial support systems, tools and methods she uses with neurodiverse members of her community. She finds that these tools are universally helpful for money healing. Budgets and spreadsheets are typical financial tools, but the methods she employs are approaches such as:
Landing softly
Being welcomed
Creating a judgement free space
Joining a friendly community
Having a group experience with folks working through similar challenges
Body doubling
All of these calm and support the nervous system so deep healing can begin. From that space there's an opportunity to connect with values.
If you're not just trying to keep yourself out of the red but actually want your money and your spending to mean something, tune in to this latest episode of the Business by Nature podcast. You'll come away with a deeper understanding of the neuroscience at play in your brain so you can circumnavigate the urge to impulse shop as well as the crash state that weakens resolve.
Rachel Duncan is a Financial Therapist and Art Therapist. She helps people who impulse spend and avoid money regain their confidence and knowledge about finances. She works 1:1, hosts a community, and runs group intensives. You can find her at moneyhealingclub.com and on Instagram @moneyhealingclub.
For listeners of the Business by Nature podcast, she has two special offers:
A free Mindful Spending Challenge email course: https://moneyhealingclub.com/challenge

There's no commitment required to join the club, and you can cancel anytime. Rachel runs several short get togethers in the club each week, including Money Dates and all facets of Financial Therapy.
Rachel took the Force of Nature quiz and found out she's a River. This makes total sense given how she weaves together her skills into one holistic package. To find out your Force of Nature and receive a User Manual filled with business tips for your unique type, go to forceofnaturequiz.com.
All Parts of You Are Innocent with Nurse Nell
2025/01/31
Self-help can be an endless circuit of constantly trying to "heal" from your humanness. As a trauma-informed life coach, Danelle Gallo, aka Nurse Nell, helps women face their fears and gently coax what's hidden in the subconscious mind and body into the light where:
Shame dissolves
Destructive patterns are broken
Heavy burdens are finally surrendered
Pleasure is remembered
Safety is found
Soft, glowing joy becomes your baseline
Danelle's philosophy is: All parts of you are innocent. Even the darkest, hairiest, most disgusting, most disturbing parts. Danelle helps you relate to all your parts in a novel and magical way that will change how you see yourself and, therefore, everything else.
In this episode we bond over how being a human is an intense experience, especially for neurodivergent women. No one is officially taught how to exist in a body. And, even though bodies are similar, no one knows what anyone else experiences in their body.
This conversation will show you new ways of relating to yourself, your memories and experiences. You'll also learn Danelle's 6-step system for recalibrating when dysregulated. This simple process helps rebuild trust in mind, body and spirit while coming back to the present.
Danelle is a resource for the lived experience. She's a nurse with a master's degree in Chinese medicine who's also a trauma-informed life coach certified in Existential Kink, meditation and yoga.
Connect with her on Facebook and Instagram @nurse_nell where she has links to her classes in shadow work, banishing anxiety, and relationship alchemy. Danelle also offers free consultations to explore 1:1 coaching. Her Too Human with Nurse Nell podcast is another great free resource she creates to lead you back to yourself.
A Psychic Autistic's Perspective on "The Telepathy Tapes"
2025/01/10
A trailblazing new podcast called "The Telepathy Tapes" launched recently. The host, Ky Dickens, takes listeners on a journey into the "shockingly" conscious world of non-speaking individuals with autism.
Non-speaking autistic individuals have been looked down upon and dismissed as "less than" for much of their lives, and yet it's being revealed that not only are they communicating — they are doing so through the mind only — what we call telepathy.
Many people have shared this podcast with me because I've been recently diagnosed as autistic. This diagnosis has literally made clear thousands of things about myself and my life that I couldn't explain.
Obviously I'm on a different part of the spectrum because I can communicate verbally. I also present in culturally-normative ways that eased my path in some ways but also created that mask of being unseen for who and how I am for so many decades.
What you may not know is that I'm also able to communicate with unseen realms. I became aware of this ability in my 20s, and yet it's still hard for me to talk about — mostly because it's often faced with skepticism. This is the tender part that feels sad about "The Telepathy Tapes" because it has taken so long for unseen gifts to be taken seriously.
In this episode of the Business By Nature Podcast, I share my musings on this new podcast and give words to some things not so easily expressed by others. I do recommend listening to "The Telepathy Tapes" — because it is much needed in this world.
In this episode I also mention my teacher Mellissa Seaman and her teacher Maria Yracebruru — check them out!
Mastering Business Growth for each Force of Nature type with Elyna Paizis and Jacqui Jones
2024/12/30
Today I welcome back Jacqui Jones, the founder and CEO of Way We Do, the #1 SOP software for training and workflows. If you haven't listened to our first conversation, I suggest tuning in to that episode to understand how empowering SOPs (standard operating procedures) are, even for solo entrepreneurs.
I was so inspired by our first conversation that I invited Jacqui back to really dig into specifics for the 6 Force of Nature types.
Many of the clients I work with are creatives, visionaries, and out-of-the-box thinkers who resist basic business tools. We walk through the 6 Force of Nature types and their business personalities and talk through how SOPs can create ease, support, and more freedom for each type to be their authentic selves. SOPs are not a cage! They're the ultimate stepping stone for business success and growth.
We talk through each of the 6 Force of Nature types:
River
Volcano
Earthquake
Ocean
Wind
Wildfire
Whatever your type, you'll come away with tips for navigating your own business. You'll also learn strategies for working with the different force of nature types and building teams that work well together while honoring their different approaches.
If you're not sure which Force of Nature you are, take the quiz and find out in just a couple of minutes!
For listeners of our podcast, anyone who books a meeting with Way We Do will receive a map of their first 3 processes for free.
Get the Chaos Under Control with Jacqui Jones
2024/12/30
As the founder and CEO of Way We Do, the #1 SOP software for training and workflows, Jacqui Jones helps businesses with complex processes miss nothing again. This episode will get you hyped about SOPs, or standard operating procedures, even if you're a solo entrepreneur.
SOPs may not sound sexy, but having your time back from questioning and starting over the same processes again and again is.
SOPs pave the road for growth, from being a business owner to being a business team manager. They empower you to view your business as an entity that can be led by you and tended by others.
Repeatable processes produce consistent results. SOPs are intertwined with clear business strategies, and they can supercharge your success because they allow you to leverage your brain power for implementing bigger visions that come through rather than staying stuck on repetitive tasks.
We dive into how different people create SOPs because these are personal and everyone does business differently.
We also discuss in detail ideas for
Mastering your content strategy
Smooth sales funnels & product delivery
Creating systems that lead to profitability
Setting your team up for success
Where and how to use automation
Creatives and visionaries who resist basic business tools
Don't be fooled into thinking that SOPs are something you put off for a later time when your business is bigger. Not every little thing needs to be documented, but having your mission critical processes documented from day 1 lays the foundation for your business to thrive. When life happens, someone else can step in. Your training is done for you.
For listeners of our podcast, anyone who books a meeting with Way We Do will receive a map of their first 3 processes for free.
Cultivating Your Earthquake Nature with Carrigan Ham
2024/11/25
Carrigan Ham returns to the Business By Nature podcast this month as a followup to episode 24: Cultivating Your Volcanic Nature with Carrigan Ham. In that episode we discussed the importance of archetypes, so you may want to tune into that one first for more context. We'll be recording six episodes in all, one for each Force of Nature archetype from the Force of Nature quiz.
Carrigan's Force of Nature archetype is Earthquake. She speaks to how this resonates in her life and business.
In this episode you'll come away with a deeper understanding of the Earthquake archetype, both the gifts and the challenges. And since both Carrigan and Elyna studied earth sciences, you also get to learn about actual earthquakes to deepen the metaphor of viewing this natural force as it applies to situations in your life.
Whether or not your Force of Nature archetype is Earthquake, you'll learn where you might need to call on this archetype to really shake sh*t up… because, ultimately, utilizing aspects of all six Force of Nature types becomes a powerful toolkit for business challenges.
Weaving together seemingly disparate paths is a gift of Earthquake types. Carrigan leads transformations by showing people how to alchemize past pain into personal power through functional medicine, mind-body medicine, and depth psychology. Her coaching is deep, fearless, and truly holistic.
This episode is filled with prompts that give you a taste of the depths she helps you explore. Connect with Carrigan by signing up for The Harbor: a weekly anchor point for self-reflection. This free newsletter includes a downloadable meditation, scientific insights, and journal prompts that go out every Sunday. She has accessible classes on Inner Alchemy and Shadow Integration. To Do list pillars

Time Confetti lists
Input days and output days
When you tend to be creative vs. detail oriented

How Women Create Businesses Differently with Katharine Campbell Hirst
2024/10/21
For years Katharine Campbell Hirst wanted THE BOOK about how women create businesses differently, and it didn't exist. Then she was waiting until she was a big enough vessel to write this book. A big ah-ha! came when she considered taking a researcher approach by interviewing women business owners with 7-, 8-, and 9-figure businesses that they run their own way.
This "quest" is called The Baubo Project, named after the goddess who helped Demeter get her mojo back after her daughter Persephone was abducted. Katharine embodies her own teachings in this project by letting go of timelines and rules about how a book is done. The book is birthing itself on its own timeline.
As a coach for entrepreneurs and executives, Katharine's work lives at the intersection of business and psychology. In this episode, she shares her three stages of coaching as well as how to get unstuck when fallow periods arrive.
Her invitation: what if you just started from what feels good and pulls you in the first place? Her quest is to help women remember how they create when they create in their own way. This episode will help you release any notions of a "business playbook" and remember that you can do things your own way. Bring on the self authority and trust!
Katharine took the Force of Nature Quiz. She's an Earthquake, here to shake things up. She has the unique gift of seeing underneath what's happening as women try to fit in a masculine world. Listen in to this conversation to wake up and be reminded that it's never too late to build a new thing or rebuild an existing business from a place of alignment.

Business as a Radical, Creative Act with Rachel Budde
2024/10/05
Rachel Budde, founder of the natural, head-to-toe body care line Fat and The Moon, sees the world through the eyes of nature, because we are nature. YOU are nature. This statement captures what she wants to heal in the world. Seeing ourselves as something other than nature or seeing nature as something we have to fight or beat back, creates more separation within us, in our lives and in our world.
In this conversation with Rachel, a passionate herbalist who also runs a successful product-based business founded on her values of nourishment, we discuss business as an act of optimism needed to counterbalance pain in the world. Business itself is a very creative entity. How we use it is up to us! It can be a tool for good as well as curiosity.
This episode is filled with perspectives that will shift how you see the world, your business, body, and challenges.
Rachel drops deep wisdom on:
Understanding digestion and how other natural processes can help shift cultural paradigms,
Micro-practices as the practical way to stay self centered in a busy life,
Pushing leading to paralysis because it's a short-term depletion cycle ,
The important skill of resilience,
Business being a microcosm of what you can apply to your life, and
Different fuels being needed for different phases of life and business.
In this conversation, Rachel shares how often we can't think our way through challenges that arise. We have to open our awareness and take in something new, often surprising. This is how we shift. Tune in to begin softening and experiencing this magic.
