Episode 3 - Travis Tritt Interviews, Waylon's Guitar, George Jones's Personal Publicist, The Hotel Whiskey, and AARP Clint Black
2021/10/26
Welcome back for Episode 3. I first discuss some of the interviews with Travis Tritt surrounding his recent concert cancellations. Here's an article with accompanying interview clip:
https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/music/2021/10/20/travis-tritt-concert-cancelations-covid-mandates-tucker-carlson-fox-nashville/8537295002/
Then it's back to business:
-We get a glimpse of what looks like one of Waylon's guitars during Travis's interview with Eric Bolling.
-I review the "Acknowledgements" of George Jones's autobiography and come across his personal publicist, Evelyn Shriver.
-A brief nod to Hotel Whiskey in beautiful Pass Christian, MS
-A plug for the AARP-sponsored Clint Black virtual concert (https://local.aarp.org/aarp-event/aarp-presents-a-virtual-concert-with-clint-black-wqnpfy5tpjl.html)
Episode 2 - Country Wishlist Addendum, The Adams Brothers Return, Travis Tritt/COVID, and A Trip to Smiths Falls ON
2021/10/19
Welcome back for Episode 2. I made an edit to my country music wishlist: I add John Carter Cash to the lineup for the Legacy(?) concert. Then we go on from there:
-An update on the Adams Brothers (Record and book in the making)
-Venturing into "I Lived to Tell It All" (New Material, Stripped Copies, and Lost CMA Awards)
-A note on "Ralph Carlson & Country Mile - Live at the George Jones Show" (Listen to my attempted recording of the hard-if-not-impossible-to-find cassette from the George Jones show hosted at Smiths Falls Memorial Convention Center in Smiths Falls, ON circa 1996).
I've been listening to Alan Jackson's song "Back." I'm in agreement; let's bring country back. Get country back on track.
I recently read a piece from Outsider.com by Clayton Edwards about the premier of "The George Jones Show." Clayton references his favorite (and one of the few accessible) episodes and paraphrases Bobby Bare: "The radio plays country music for folks who don't like country music." Ain't that something. Here's the link to Clayton's article: https://outsider.com/news/country-music/on-this-day-george-jones-show-premieres-1998/
Episode 1 - Intro, Tales from the Tour Bus, and a Country Wishlist

-Ralph Carlson & Country Mile "Live At The George Jones Show" (1996 cassette tape)
-Cody Johnson's new album "Humans"
