Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  The pilgrims were murderers and turkey tastes like napkins.   Speaking of pilgrims, you know the puritans hated sex, right?  Well you’re wrong!  I mean, you’re also right, but still wrong!  Turns out they were all about having sex, as long as it was for God.  So strap on into the tryptophan-mobile as we look at how the puritans had sex.   This episode’s cocktail is the Hot Toddy!   The weather is getting chilly, so warm yourself up with this delicious wintery drink.  But not too much, because too much alcohol turns it from a vasodilator into a vasoconstrictor, which will actually make you colder!   Angel & Steve’s Hot Toddy:   4 parts spiced apple cider Cinnamon sticks Apple slices Orange slices Bourbon (we used Wild Turkey 101 because it was on sale) Nutmeg Lemon Honey   Heat the cider, fruit, and cinnamon over the stovetop and keep at a simmer until ready to drink.  Get your favorite mug and fill it with 4 parts cider, 1 part bourbon, a squeeze of lemon, and 1 tbsp of honey.  Garnish with a cinnamon stick, orange wheel, and grated nutmeg.

It’s Halloween!  In this episode we’ll look at the shocking origins of the chainsaw itself.  While its uses today are relegated to cutting wood and for chasing sex charged co-eds who found themselves off the main roads, its origins can be traced back to 18th century operating rooms, where it used for all kind of bodily excisions.  We’ll also take a look in some other spooky dark corners of sexual history.   This episode's drink is The Corpse Reviver #2!   Absinthe, to rinse 3/4 ounce London dry gin 3/4 ounce Lillet blanc 3/4 ounce orange liqueur 3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed   Rinse the inside of a chilled coupe or cocktail glass with absinthe, discard the excess and set the glass aside. Add the gin, Lillet blanc, orange liqueur and lemon juice into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into the prepared glass.

The Industrial Revolution changed humanity in ways that had never been seen before or since.  As people moved to centralized industrial cities and worked closely together in factories, one of the largest changes we saw was the exponential population explosion we still see today.  In this episode we look at what dating culture looked like during this time, and how cultural traditions that had held for centuries would change forever. _______________________________________ This episode's drink is the Sangree! 1/4 tsp sugar 1 tsp water 3oz Brandy 1.5oz Madeira Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake or stir, then strain into a glass and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.  Doesn't taste like Christmas, because don't come at me with that energy in October, it is strictly a fall drink.
