Parkland has a team that is playing games this spring and will be sanctioning the sport officially in the 2026-27 year.   Following rapid growth led by the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers, over 100 teams already exist statewide, with high schools in districts across the state forming teams. Basketball Super Stars of the Class of 2024
2024/04/11
The Parkland girls' and boys' basketball teams both had remarkable seasons. The girls' team won the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) and District Championships, and made a deep run in the State Tournament before falling in the semi-final round to the eventual state champion, Cardinal O'Hara. This was the furthest the team had advanced since winning the State Championship in 2006. Meanwhile, the boys' team also made an impressive run, advancing all the way to the State Final - a feat not accomplished since 2004. However, they ultimately fell short, losing the State Championship game by just two points. It's worth noting that the boys' head coach, Eddie Ohlson, was a senior on the Parkland team back in 2004. Interestingly, the girls' head coach is Eddie's father, Ed Ohlson Sr.
