Anthony Scaramucci: Podcasting, Politics and Public Reinvention
2026/05/07
We've had over 70 journalists join us on Press Profiles, but we've never had The Mooch. On this episode, venerable podcast host, businessman, founder, voracious reader (and we could go on and on) Anthony Scaramucci sits down for a candid, funny, and thoughtful conversation about podcasting, politics, media, and resilience. He discusses his wildly successful podcast The Rest Is Politics US, surviving public failure, reading 300 books a year, why vulnerability matters, and what he's learned from Wall Street, the White House, and life in the spotlight. Plus: astrology, Disney, the Mets, and a few completely unfiltered stories along the way. And as always, and especially when you're talking to Anthony…a whole lot more.
Making the important interesting with "The Best One Yet" hosts Nick Martell and Jack Crivici-Kramer
2026/04/17
Nick Martell and Jack Crivici-Kramer met as college roommates, and now they're selling out concert venues as hosts of the wildly popular business news podcast "The Best One Yet." Nick and Jack have found a recipe for making business news interesting, and as a result, have garnered legions of super fans who tune in every day.
On this episode of Press Profiles, we break down how they've built a fast-paced, high-energy show that turns complex financial news into compelling, memorable stories. From their daily "headline hammer" meetings to their formula of "bold + specific = interesting," they share how they choose what to cover, and just as importantly, what to skip. It's a candid look behind the scenes with two individuals quickly making their mark in business news. Special thanks to my colleague Pippa Ushio for hosting the terrific conversation.
Shawn Tully Joined Fortune Magazine in 1979 – and he's still going strong!
2026/02/25
Before AI, before social media, before the dot-com boom…there was Shawn Tully. Nearly 50 years later, there's still Shawn Tully — Fortune's Senior Editor-at-Large, still cranking out thought-provoking stories about the world's most powerful business leaders. On this episode of Press Profiles, Shawn reflects on five decades of reporting, from covering European business in Paris to flying on Donald Trump's private plane, to spending hours inside CEOs' offices chasing the perfect anecdote. He shares why storytelling matters as much as spreadsheets, how trust is built over decades, and why the best business journalism reads like narrative — not news copy. Along the way, we hear about tennis with Bobby Riggs, inventing the term "HENRYs," and what motivates him to "keep cranking" after all these years.

2026/02/11
Forbes reporter Hank Tucker hasn't been in the business long, but he has started to make an impact. His profiles on some of the most successful leaders in business coupled with popular articles about interesting investment has made him a compelling read. And he's only getting started. On this episode of Press Profiles, Tucker explains how he broke into the business, what he learned from talented colleagues like Nathan Vardi, Antoine Gara, and Maneet Ahuja, and how he gets his subjects to reveal interesting things about themselves. We also touch on the growing overlap between finance and sports, life outside the newsroom (think lots of burgers and the Boston Red Sox), how being a middle child has shaped his approach, and why being a good teammate matters as much to him as any byline.
"Heard on the Street" with the Wall Street Journal's Telis Demos
2025/12/10
For most kids, "career day" is nothing more than a welcome refuge from a typical day at school. For Telis Demos, it was the spark that launched his now decades-long career as a financial journalist. On this episode of Press Profiles, we talk to the "Heard on the Street" columnist and podcast host about the career day presentation from a Wall Street banker that ignited his curiosity in the financial markets. We get into his early career in magazines (and why newspapers won him over) and how getting "into the weeds" helps him uncover stories that others might miss. We also discuss the 2008 credit bubble, the rise of high-frequency trading, and the craft of writing a memorable intro. Telis also tells us about what PR professionals get right (and wrong), why he thinks it's important to ask someone what they actually do at work all day, and why aspiring young journalists should find their voice and follow their instincts.

The Art of the Interview with Wilfred Frost
2025/07/02
Wilfred Frost is the host of Sky News' breakfast show, a frequent contributor on CNBC, and can now add podcast host to his resume, too. These roles have a few things in common, but the most important throughline for Wilfred is how they allow him to flex his favorite muscle – interviewing. On this episode of Press Profiles – live from Wilfred's home turf in London – we explore the art of the interview and what he learned about it from a pretty good role model – his dad, David Frost, legendary journalist of "Frost Nixon" fame. Among many other things, Wilfred tells us how his father taught him the importance of having a genuine interest in people and how he channels that in his own work. We also discuss his circuitous path to journalism, his favorite restaurants from London to NYC, his dream interview guest, and why he feels lucky to have a job that he loves.
