9. Know Your Element: The Chinese Five Element Types with Madeline Cunningham

Madeline is a Boston-based acupuncturist, herbalist, functional medicine provider, and soon to be certified hypnotist. She uses different healing modalities to treat physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies at the same time. Madeline specializes in internal medicine, specifically digestive, hormonal, and autoimmune disorders. The topic of today’s conversation is the Five Element Theory, which comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine and is used by healers and health practitioners, like Madeline, to help their patients overcome energetic imbalances that often manifest as physical and mental symptoms. In this episode, I also share a little bit about doshas, the Ayurvedic mind-body types. Madeline and I touch on the similarities between this system and the Five Element Theory.
