052 - Set Your Intentions
2022/07/04
"I have learned that a series of shortcuts ended up becoming the longest route for me to take." - Johnnie Williams III Set your intentions... set your mind(set)...set your efforts...set your actions...set your focus...and, set your destination. This episode offers up a classic example of how powerful YOU can be when you set your intention on an ideal pursuit or outcome. The water system mentioned during this episode is called iMAGiNT and can take your efforts to self-improve too much greater heights. 3 Questions to ask yourself: 1) What was the last shortcut you took that did not work out? 2) What was your main motivation in taking it? 3) Did you end up having to do it all over? 041 - I'm Making It
2022/04/01
“If you desire to accomplish anything in life, please delete the (t) in can't; you can only succeed without it” - Johnnie Williams III Have you ever placed an order at a restaurant and mentioned to remove something they had as an ingredient you didn’t want included? Well - let’s hold the (t) - you can do it! I feel that many of us have learned can’t from someone who couldn’t bear to watch us fail or fall short. So, we were conditioned to say can’t more often than not. I can’t - you can’t – we can’t... sound familiar? Just saying what you can’t do shouldn't feel natural coming from your mouth or feel as foreign as a language that you do not speak. Well, there is some small group out there that is busy working on removing the (t) in can(t). Are you one of them…? I see the ( T ) representing time… The time needed to develop a can’t into a can! But realistically there are some things that we really are unable to do, but the sad reality is for too many of us, we will opt for adding the (t) way too soon.  How many of you have once said? -I can’t ride a bike – but now you do! -I can’t swim – but now jump in the deep end! -I can’t cook - but (now) still manage to burn a pot of boiling water ( lol ). Keep trying! -I can’t do that – but now do much-much more! Know that I once said "I can’t manage my own podcast… I can’t edit it. I can’t record it." And then I had to edit my can't and replace it with can to arrive at episode 41 of season 3. Ask Yourself: What has your heart been trying to say to you? What would happen if you actually listened? And, then what? 042 - Tell Your Story
2022/04/04
“As a child, I followed in my parent's footsteps… As I’ve gotten older, I have begun to create my own.” - Johnnie Williams III Who is telling your story? Is it you? What do you feed into the abyssNess of his – story? My personal story has many chapters that include highs and lows, as well as close calls and some very amazing moments too. I have been blessed and fortunate to tell my story for a living – but sometimes that has required that I relive some emotional moments. These moments have served the purpose of helping me in connecting with others currently going through a similar (present) moment or tough time. So, I will share the pieces that offer food for thought in tangible life lessons that offer value to those paying with attention. It was my father who told me and taught me to be bigger than my story and its challenging chapters. He would know – as a child he was left to battle Polio without the support and assurance of his own father who was left to battle tuberculosis – TB – after returning from World War II. So essentially, he shared in the footsteps of health-related struggles like his father… my grandfather. But it was his personal fortitude that determined that polio would not render him crippled – crippled physically nor emotionally.  So, he forged on at an early age to craft his own steps and his own perception of himself despite doctor, family, and the opinion of friends who all doubted his fate. But now, here he is telling his own amazing story of loving his wife of 51 years and raising three sons as he helps to guide his six grandchildren who too can follow in his footsteps until they’re able to create and craft their own. Ask Yourself: What is one example that your parents set for you? What is something you have accomplished it makes you proud? What were your legacy be? 043 - Don't Give Up
2022/04/08
“Some say that life is a rat race you will never win I say we should at least think your way to the front of it.” - Johnnie Williams III Notice I didn’t say: -Work your way to the front of it… -Run or race your way to the front of it… -Cheat your way to the front of it… Check out this video that describes a 1950 Harvard university study using similar rats that were both domesticated and wild. The study aimed to see how long the rats of different circumstance would swim before giving up. The findings were very interesting and speak to the Hope and hopelessness that is present within men and women across the globe. Some still have hope in succeeding and thriving despite the obstacles they are confronted with. But many others have given up on trying to access the possibility of getting more out of life. Don't Give Up... Do you believe you can continue to survive or even thrive within this man-made rat race? Don’t give up – keep pushing – keep kicking – keep dreaming – keep loving the journey of life!!! The think about it brand and podcast or about encouraging, reminding, and inspiring good people to think critically and independently. I offer an array of services and products that attempt to support the creation of a productive habit of thinking deeply more often to avoid the predictable rat traps that have caught too many of us due to unconscious reactions. Something to think about… Ask Yourself: What has life and stress done to your optimism? What is one thing you can do to make your life easier to manage? How did your way of thinking make a difference? 044 - Never to Late
2022/04/11
"One thing my grandparents taught me... You can't spend towards retirement, but you can save for it." - Johnnie Williams III It's NEVER TO LATE to: - start something new - stop making the same mistakes - try a different approach - change your mind or perspective The focus in this episode is on the retirement plans and practices of employees and those opting for entrepreneurship. You will be challenged to ask yourself what is your spending ratio, as it relates to how you spend on wants and needs. The analogy used during this episode played off the hugely successful book by Robert Kiyosaki, 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad'. But instead referenced the retirement planning of my entrepreneurial grandparents and my employee grandparents. Many Americans do not have the type of long-term savings that will insure a comfortable retirement, and this show will offer up a reason to take some time to really Think About It... Ask Yourself: 1) What type of spending personality do you have? 2) Where can you cut back on wants to save what you need to? 3) How will this step enhance your retirement? 045 - Speak Your Truth
2022/04/15
"The power is in your hand... If you have a question raise it, and if you see someone in need, be sure to lend it." - Johnnie Williams III What does it mean to speak your truth? What would you say - or do you say? Who is drawn to your truth and welcomes it? Who avoids your truth by rejecting you or discouraging you from sharing it? Can your TRUTH be shared without offending someone or being taken as disrespect? This episode suggests and urges for you to Speak Your Truth... But maybe it was at school or even at home that we learned to suppress it and opted to mute ourselves. Today, the internet offers some the virtual courage to say things safely behind their screens that they probably wouldn't in person. And because of this, many have been insulted and angered by so many sharing their truth in disrespectful and dysfunctional ways.  Ask Yourself: - What is the most memorable question you had answered by raising your hand? - When was the last time you lent a hand to someone in need? - How did that make you feel? 2022/04/22
"One should always remember that the onset of anger often detours to danger, so proceed with caution." - Johnnie Williams III Who holds the remote (control) as it related to your emotions? And, if it is not in fact you - will they be willing to give it back..? (meaning - your personal power) This podcast episode is all about the need and necessity for anger management methods and practices that will help you avoid keeping some serious consequences company. I have found that walking has helped me to avoid many unnecessary outcomes and proceed on with my life in peace. Consider your: - Emotion - Esteem - Ego - Evolution These common aspects are expanded upon in my co-authored 'SELF talk' book that's available in paperback, hardcover and audiobook. Ask Yourself: 1) Who in your circle can make you mad really quickly? 2) What is your first signal that you are starting to get angry? 3) How can you calm yourself down? 047 - Keep The Faith
2022/05/02
"Each day offers gifts, like trees bearing fruit. If you're willing to just reach for it, life has a treat for you." - Johnnie Williams III In this episode of the Think About It,,, podcast, the focus is aimed at mental health and the work of book author  Brandarius Johnson who is rapidly emerging as a social influencer. his book  of 'Mental Hope', is a touching memoir that is helping to activate courageous conversations for its readers. As the month of May highlights Mental Health Awareness Month,  a NAMI presentation shed some disheartening information as to the number of suicide related fatalities during 2020 amongst our younger citizens. Keep The F.A.I.T.H.  =  keep the Focus Aligned In-spite The Hardship(s) Ask Yourself: 1) What is one way that you slow yourself down to enjoy each day? 2) Which of your friends seems to always be happy? 3) What do they do differently than you and others? 048 - Keep Growing Forward
2022/05/09
"Mother Nature has been trying to teach me something very important - KEEP GROWING." - Johnnie Williams III This episode tackles the concept of personal growth and offers an interesting analogy with regard to others not desiring to grow with you. Be sure to call the Thought Line to share your opinion of what you've gotten from this podcast and any of the others 47 episodes that each pack unique messages to be discovered. If you are looking for an engaging way to mirror your own personal growth and development, I suggest you going out and purchasing a pot, some potting soil and a plant (seed) that matches your personality or the life cycle of your improvement efforts. Plant the seed the day you intend to begin your journey and do exactly what it takes to insure its growth for yourself. Water, fertilize and nurture your ambition just as you do the plant and just keep pace with it until the steps become habit and it feels un-natural not to do them. Remember that "Time is Truth and Truth is Time" and all shall be revealed in just a matter of time. Ask Yourself: 1) What does a plant need to grow? 2) Where do you need the most time growing yourself? 3) What does that growth look like? 049 - Flow Follow Focus
2022/05/16
"Your time should be managed on the move, because it cannot be paused while you stop and figure things out." - Johnnie Williams III Each and every podcast episode allow for me to find my way back into the flow - as long as I focus my energy and attention on the theme and thought. My process for producing each message is 3-fold, beginning with tapping in and allowing my marker to dance across the white board that contains my show notes. Once that is done, i usually take a day or maybe a few hours to sit with it, look at it and then move on to record it. As I walk into my home studio and hit the power button, I am already ascending into a higher state of...or enlivened state. My heart begins beating slower, which is seemingly the opposite of what would be expected, but I actually begin to relax into what will ultimately become another thought stirring experience for whomever might listen. My intent with each episode is to capture my energy during this moment of flow as I focus upon a single-quote I may have created more than 7 years ago. I try to remember where I was and what I might have been doing, thinking or trying to say; and make sure that I allow that to come back to me as I began to share with you the listener(s). This episode's message allowed me to briefly highlight the obvious notion - that time does not sit nor stand still despite our desire for it to do so. It (time) doesn't slow from the pace we have set for it to tick and tock along with our lives. Therefore, at best all we can do is manage it better and better from experience gained from wasting it or losing it and paying the high price. I quickly offer up a way that I escape the grip of time and you can as well, before signing off with a couple of questions you should consider answering: 1) When is the busiest part of your day? 2) Where do you get caught wasting the most time? 3) How do you make up for lost time? (and... can you?) Visit JohnnieWilliams.com for more information or call (315) THOUGHT to ask a question or leave a message. Support the show
050 - Find Your Why
2022/05/23
"When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up... I cleared my throat and defiantly shouted... Myself!" - Johnnie Williams III How did you answer this age-old question of what you desired to be when YOU grew up? Well, did you end up becoming what you mentioned? And, if not how do you feel about that, or what's the reason? Can you articulate why and how things happened for YOU or impeded your progression towards the outcome of income. Checkout this podcast to hear the interesting response that I offered to my teacher(s) when asked this classic question...
