Send us Fan Mail 20. Making Wise Decisions. Melissa and I have been on the road this year sharing hope and encouragement in Christ at every opportunity. By far, the message of "Making Wise Decisions" has been our most shared message. It would only make sense that we would share it as an Podcast Episode.  We meet people from all walks of life who are either in the midst of making a very important decision or who are dealing with the fall out of having made a bad decision. The Bible is full of instruction of how to make wise decisions yet this is a topic not taught often on Sunday mornings, at least from my own personal experience.  Melissa and I believe this is an opportune moment to share Scripture that reflects the significance of wisdom in decision-making. We would also like to present our personal experiences highlighting how God has guided us in making prudent choices. Our hope is to provide encouragement to those who are on their journey to make wise decisions in their lives. Biblical Insights for this episode are listed below and in most cases are from the NIV Translation of the Bible. Proverbs 3: 5-6, Philippians 4: 6-7, Psalms 32: 8, Jeremiah 29: 11, John 16: 12-15, Psalm 19: 1-2, Luke 1: 11-13, Genesis 40: 1-8, Proverbs 19: 21, Colossians 3: 15. Send us Fan Mail The Holiday Season is one of the favorite times of year for Melissa and I. Both of our families have been farmers for generations and Melissa and I carry that tradition on today. Being we have such a background in farming, harvest in the fall is something that has always been a major part of our lives. After having planted in the spring, praying for the right balance of rain and sun, and after having tended to the crops all spring and summer, harvest has always been a welcomed reward. As a child, playing on tractors, cotton pickers, and combines was always one of my favorite things to do. But my absolute favorite thing to do was to play in the cotton wagons when they were full of those tiny white balls of cotton. I always had a couple of months in October and November to play in the wagons before they went to the cotton gin, which was always in harvest season. Harvest Season always gives way to the Holiday Season of November and December which seems to just top off such an enjoyable time for Melissa and I. Preparing for Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Starting the Holiday Season off by going to fall festivals,  decorating for Thanksgiving and then for Christmas. Having the entire family together around the Thanksgiving Table and then the Christmas Tree. During this time of year we celebrate so many family Holiday Traditions that have been carried on for generations in our family. Harvest Season and the Holiday Season are such special times of year for our family, we found it only fitting to begin sharing some of our favorite Holiday Traditions with you, our listeners.  In. this episode Melissa and I along with our Audio Engineer, Fletcher Brown will each share a couple of our favorite Holiday Traditions with you. We hope you enjoy the episode and thank you for sharing this Holiday Season with our family, and we hope your family has a blessed and happy Holiday Season. Send us Fan Mail At the time of releasing this episode, many would say we live in Uncertain Times. If one takes a moment for reflection, the signs are all there. The headlines showcase them each day; random violence, lawlessness, wars, anxiety, depression, mental health challenges, suicide, technology that is eliminating jobs, persecution of people of faith, raging inflation, housing cost beyond many's reach, entrainment that is becoming increasingly dark, a raging drug epidemic, all time low Church attendance, and many are seeking peace in these uncertain times. Uncertainty in one's life can lead to mental health symptoms such as stress, poor sleep quality, mental fatigue, fear of loosing control, anxiety, and depression. Physical health symptoms of uncertainty include forgetfulness, elevated heart rate, sweating, appetite changes, nausea, body pain, irritability, and fatigue. If given the proper spiritual attention, uncertainty can be replaced with peace in one’s life. The uncertain aspects which are out of one’s control may not change, but how one approaches these uncertainties and deals with them can be. The areas of life we talk about in this episode are the temporal needs, life purpose, and eternal security. Trusting God with these areas of life can lead to peace in uncertainty. The following Bible references are from varying Bible translations. Matthew 6:33, Luke 5:1-11, Matthew 6:25-26, Genesis 2:15, Ecclesiastes 5:19, Proverbs 12:11, 2 Thessalonians 3:10, Exodus 16:4, Psalm 139:13-18, Luke 11:9, and John 4: 4-42. Send us Fan Mail Most of us avoid thinking about losing a loved one at all costs. We feel that if we never think about it, then it can't happen to us.  People also have a tendency to avoid those who've had a recent loss simply because they may not know what to say. Whatever the case, without their realizing it, their actions isolate those they are avoiding, making the severity of their friend's or family member's grieving all the worse. If you are reading this and you are someone who lost a loved one, a career, a longtime friend or relationship, or anything else that you have loved and held dear to your heart, then you are the one this podcast was made for. In this podcast episode, you will hear the testimony of Jimmy Thrasher who lost his late wife of twenty-five years and then lost both parents two weeks apart eight years later.  Jimmy knows the grieving process all too well and grief support has become a large part of his Ministry, along with his now-wife Melissa.    In addition to sharing his testimony, Jimmy also shares how God healed him from grieving, and brought him into a brand new life.  This podcast episode is filled with encouraging Bible Verses, hope, and encouragement in Christ. May God bless you in your healing journey. Send us Fan Mail In my line of work, I meet new people almost every day, so many; in fact, over the course of a year, I meet a lot of new people. Some people I meet are just a one-time thing encountered in that day’s business functions. Some people I meet turn into business acquaintances whom I will continue to do business with, talking randomly to every so often. But then there are those rare few that you encounter every so often in life who become close friends who literally change your life for the better, and that is who Fletcher is to us. We met Fletch in 2022 at CRS in Nashville, which is the Country Radio Seminar. Our 501(c)3 ministry, Silent Witness, Inc., had a booth set up, and we were promoting our current Project that year, “LIVE.” Suicide prevention is something that Fletch believes in, so he stopped by our booth to visit with us, and it was during that conversation a friendship and common ground were found to work together. Out of everything we do, our music, the work we do with Silent Witness, Inc, and everything we do in our Christian Life Coaching Ministry, it was this podcast show that struck a chord with the three of us. Fletch said he would be happy to be involved in our podcast show, and soon thereafter, he began producing these podcast shows for us, which has just raised our work to a whole new level. Little did any of us know that about a month from that day, Fletcher would be diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that would set his life on a whole new course. Join us on this podcast episode as we take the journey with Fletch  from the day we met to his diagnosis and to his now being healed and finding that he has so much "More To Say."  Produced by: Fletcher Brown & Jimmy Thrasher https://www.buzzsprout.com/1875790 https://www.instagram.com/christianlifecoachj_mthrasher/ https://www.facebook.com/people/Christian-Life-Coaching-by-Jimmy-Melissa-Thrasher/100077988512809/?paipv=0&eav=Afa6Dy9_ZkLeXIui6_EkdA6qfzMSiaGz5praHEnsdsTrGD7r61dJvpUEGEcr6r4xyNs Support the show

Send us Fan Mail A friend and I met for lunch one day to discuss some ministry business. As we were talking, the waitress came up to take our order. We talked for a few minutes and then placed our order. As she was about to leave, my friend said we would be praying in a few minutes before we ate, and he asked if there was anything we could pray for her about. She took a deep breath and immediately said, “Peace '' pray for me to be at peace and to have peace in my life. She said thank you and strolled off to turn our order in. I sat there for a few minutes and took that experience in. A young lady whom most would think had the world on a leash was asking for us to pray for peace. The daily headlines indicate that people's mental and spiritual states are not at ease, not at peace, and it became apparent to me how important a message on peace and a new beginning is greatly needed for today's society, God shows us in Philippians 4:4-7 how to become and remain centered in our spirit and minds and how His perfect peace keeps our hearts and minds safe and at ease. Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. zB3TiM1QEhdp3bbSSgyW Support the show

Send us Fan Mail I Know You’d Be Proud” is a song written by Jimmy Thrasher, Corinne McKnight, and Tim Pastor and produced by Jimmy Thrasher. After losing his late wife Tammy to cancer some three years earlier, Jimmy Thrasher noticed a building being torn down on Woodward Avenue in Muscle Shoals, Al. He then began to think of how much things had changed since losing his wife. He then began to think of how much his life had changed since losing her, and a nagging question arose. What would she think about all of the changes, what would she think about me? As he continued to drive, the answer wrapped him up like a warm blanket – “She would be proud.” That experience weighed on Jimmy’s mind and heart until action was required. Fast forward six years later, the song is released digitally through CDX Records/Sony Orchard on Thrasher Sound Records, is now the soul of Silent Witness, Inc's current project; the “I Know You’d Be Proud Project," and is the subject for this Podcast.  It’s a message of hope and encouragement in Christ; if you have loved ones in Heaven, live on earth in such a manner as you know they would be proud of how you are living for Christ. Make em’ Proud! “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-know-youd-be-proud-single/1634116066 https://m.facebook.com/people/Christian-Life-Coaching-by-Jimmy-Melissa-Thrasher/100077988512809/ https://silentwitnessinc.org/i-know-youd-be-proud-project/ https://www.thrashersound.com Support the show
