Send us Fan Mail McKenna Wendel was a 14-year-old member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe who disappeared from Sioux Falls in March 2026. Days later, her body was found near Brookings, South Dakota. Her uncle, Mark Milk, has since been federally charged in connection with her death. Milk had previously been serving a life sentence for murder before then-Governor Kristi Noem commuted his sentence in 2023, making him eligible for parole. Send us Fan Mail In this mini episode, Sheyahshe provides an update on the case of Ella Mae Begay, a Navajo elder who disappeared from her home in Sweetwater, Arizona in June 2021. After a federal judge ruled a key confession inadmissible in 2024, prosecutors moved forward with a plea agreement that would have allowed Preston Henry Tolth to plead guilty to a single robbery charge, potentially avoiding additional prison time and any future prosecution for murder or manslaughter. Earlier this month, a U.S. District Court judge rejected that agreement following testimony from Begay’s family, who continue to seek accountability and the return of their loved one.
