The Mystery Of The Ages: Christ In You
2026/10/06
What if the greatest mystery ever unveiled is not something we read about in ancient texts, but something actively unfolding through our own lives right now? In Colossians chapters 1 and 2, Paul writes to a church he has never personally visited, burning with urgency to make sure they grasp something staggering: the mystery hidden for ages and generations, the thing Abraham and David and Jeremiah could only strain toward in faith, has now been disclosed. And it is not merely a theological fact to be filed away. It is Christ in us, the hope of glory. This message challenges us to stop treating that truth like mystery we already know the ending to, and start recognizing that we are the ones writing the next chapter. The mystery is still unfolding, and it is unfolding through us, through our struggles and our trust, through our gathered community and our individual lives. If we have grown numb to the wonder of what we carry, this is the wake-up call to recover the awe.

7 Hebrew Words For Worship
2026/09/27
What if praise was never meant to be a single, quiet, well-behaved moment? What if it was always supposed to be wild, varied, and deeply personal? In this message, we explore the rich Hebrew vocabulary of worship and discover that the Bible does not give us just one word for praise. It gives us many. From halal, which means to boast and celebrate with abandon, to shabak, which calls us to declare victory in a loud voice, to tehillah, the spontaneous song that rises up from the depths of our spirit, each word reveals a different dimension of how we were created to connect with God. We also look at the story of King David dancing before the Ark of the Covenant in 2 Samuel 6, a moment so uninhibited that it offended those watching from a distance. His response to the criticism is one of the most liberating declarations in all of Scripture. He did not defend himself. He simply said he would become even more undignified. That story holds up a mirror and asks us a direct question: are we dancing, or are we watching from the window?

Empowered To Love
2026/09/20
What does it really mean to love God? The answer might be more grounded and practical than we expect. In Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus lays out the two greatest commandments: love God with everything you have, and love your neighbor as yourself. But here is the part that challenges us: these are not suggestions. They are commands. And commands do not come with exceptions based on personality, preference, or how inconvenient the person in front of us happens to be. It's time to be rid of the comfortable idea that loving God is purely a private, spiritual experience. Jesus places responsibility squarely in the middle of everyday human interactions like lines, traffic, church pews, and family dynamics. The spiritual insight here is striking: our love for the God we cannot see is directly tied to how we treat the people we can see. If we're chasing signs, wonders, and the miraculous while quietly dismissing or judging the people around us, we may be missing the very foundation that makes those things possible. Real love is not a feeling we fall into. It's a command we walk out, empowered by the love that was first poured into us!

Strengthen Your Hands
2026/09/13
What do we do when God gives us a vision but the reality in front of us looks like nothing but rubble? The book of Nehemiah pulls back the curtain on one of Scripture's most honest portrayals of faith under fire. Nehemiah is called to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, a city that has been in ruins for decades, and what unfolds is not a smooth, miraculous overnight transformation. It is a grinding, opposition-filled battle that looks a lot like the battles we face every day. The central spiritual lesson here is that God is not simply waiting for us to step aside so He can do everything for us. He is inviting us into a partnership. Nehemiah prays and then posts a guard. He seeks God and then strengthens his resolve. This rhythm of the spiritual and the natural working together challenges us to stop over-spiritualizing our circumstances and start showing up as co-laborers with Christ. The wall does not get built by waiting. It gets built by people who work with a hammer in one hand and a sword in the other, trusting that God is with them in the labor.

Comfy Dreams And Forgotten Sacrifice
2026/09/06
In Genesis 40, we find Joseph in prison, faithfully serving those around him even in the depths of his own suffering. He notices two fellow prisoners weighed down by troubling dreams, interprets those dreams with remarkable accuracy, and asks only one thing in return: to be remembered. But he is forgotten. And that forgetfulness costs him two more years in a dungeon. This message invites us to sit with an uncomfortable question: are we more like Joseph, or more like the cupbearer who walked into his restored life and simply moved on? Most of us would like to believe we are the faithful dream-interpreters, the ones who see God at work in the darkest seasons. But human nature has a powerful pull toward forgetfulness. When the struggle ends and life stabilizes, the hunger fades, the prayers grow quieter, and the people who fought alongside us slowly drift from our memory. The spiritual challenge here is not just about gratitude -- it is about recognizing that our forgetfulness can delay the very purposes God is working out through us and through others.

Drifting is Gradual
2026/08/30
What does it mean to drift? Not to run, not to rebel, but to simply float away from the one thing that keeps us grounded. This message takes us on a deeply honest exploration of how we lose our spiritual footing, not through dramatic decisions, but through the quiet accumulation of life's distractions. Work, stress, family pressures, financial worry, these are not villains in our story, but they can become the current that carries us further from God than we ever intended to go. The central warning comes from Hebrews 2:1, which urges us to pay careful attention so that we do not drift away from what we have heard. That single word, drift, carries enormous weight. It implies something gradual, something that happens while we are looking the other way.

Jesus Is Not Your Guru
2026/08/23
What if the way we think about Jesus has been subtly, quietly wrong all along? In this message drawn from Matthew 16:13-19, we are confronted with one of the most penetrating questions ever asked: Who do you say Jesus is? Not who does culture say He is, not what label feels comfortable or convenient, but who do we actually believe Him to be at the deepest level of our lives? The message challenges us to examine whether we have unknowingly reduced Jesus to a life coach, a moral guru, or a spiritual self-help resource. When we do that, we place ourselves at the center of the story and relegate Jesus to a supporting role in our own narrative. The geography of this passage turns out to matter enormously. Jesus asks this defining question not in a synagogue or a safe religious setting, but in Caesarea Philippi, a place saturated with pagan worship, dark spiritual activity, and what ancient people believed was a literal gateway to the underworld. It is in that setting, standing before the rock face where false gods were worshipped and sacrifices were made, that Peter declares Jesus to be the Christ, the Son of the living God. The location is not incidental. It is a declaration made in the teeth of darkness, and it changes everything. This message invites us to stop treating our faith as a pat Sunday school answer and start wrestling with whether we carry a genuine, living revelation of who Jesus truly is.

Dining In God's Presence
2026/08/17
What if the way we think about tithes, offerings, and fellowship has been missing a deeper, richer dimension all along? In Deuteronomy 12 and 14, we discover that giving to God was never meant to be a solemn, transactional duty. It was designed to be a celebration. God instructed His people to bring their tithes and offerings to the place He designated, and then to eat, drink, and rejoice in His presence together with their families, their neighbors, and even the most vulnerable among them. This passage challenges the modern tendency to separate the spiritual from the physical, as if worship belongs in one category and a shared meal belongs in another. The truth is, God wove them together intentionally. When we gather around a table and break bread with one another, we are not stepping out of His presence. We are stepping further into it. The question this raises for our own faith journey is simple, yet profound: are we missing moments of genuine communion with God because we have drawn too sharp a line between what feels sacred and what feels ordinary?

Faithfulness Is Underrated
2026/08/09
What happens when the power of God collides with a culture obsessed with magic, status, and manipulation? In Acts 19, we find ourselves in Ephesus, a city buzzing with sorcery, incantations, and people climbing over each other to build a name for themselves. Into that world steps a tent maker who rents a lecture hall and shows up faithfully, day after day, for two years. No flashy entrance. No promise of instant results. Just steady, servant-hearted faithfulness. And through that faithfulness, something extraordinary unfolds. Healing breaks out. Evil spirits flee. And an entire city begins to hold the name of Jesus in high honor. Paul models faithfulness in a way that cuts against everything our culture tells us about how power works. We tend to think that influence, impact, and breakthrough come from pursuing the right platform or saying the right words with the right authority. But this passage flips that entirely. The power was never in the incantation. It was never in the status. It was in the relationship, the faithfulness, and the willingness to serve without demanding recognition.

The Cave Season Is Transformational
2026/08/09
What does it look like to become someone God uses for great things? In this message, we explore one of the lesser-known but deeply compelling passages of the Old Testament -- the account of David's mighty men in 2 Samuel 23. These warriors were legendary in their day, men who stood their ground against impossible odds, defended unlikely patches of ground, and fought until their hands froze to their swords. But the real power wasn't found in their finished exploits. It is found in where they started. Before there were any mighty men, there was a cave. Before there was fame, there was a ragged band of about 400 men described in 1 Samuel 22 as distressed, in debt, and discontent. These were not the polished heroes of a finished story. They were broken people drawn to a future king who had not yet been crowned. And that is exactly where God does some of His most important work -- in the cave seasons of our lives, when things feel uncertain, uncomfortable, and far from glorious. Stop disqualifying yourself based on where you are right now. Start recognizing that the cave might be the very place where God is forming you into who He has called you to be.

A Sling And A Stone
2026/07/19
What if the story of David and Goliath is not just about a boy defeating a giant, but about breaking free from patterns of fear that have become so normal we no longer question them? In 1 Samuel 17, we find the entire army of Israel locked in a 40-day cycle of showing up, going through the motions, and retreating in terror. Sound familiar? Many of us live with voices of doubt, worry, and intimidation running on a loop in our minds, and we have simply accepted that as life. This message digs into that cycle and challenges us to ask the same question David asked when he arrived on the scene: why have we normalized this? David's refusal to wear Saul's armor becomes a powerful image of what it means to walk in an identity that is genuinely our own rather than inherited from those who never won their battles either.

Don't Trade Your Birthright
2026/07/13
This exploration of Genesis 25 challenges us to examine what we're trading for temporary satisfaction. The story of Jacob and Esau reveals deep seeded human nature: we often exchange eternal promises for immediate gratification, just as Esau traded his birthright for a bowl of stew. The narrative shows us two troubling patterns we can fall into—either becoming like Jacob, manipulating and deceiving our way toward God's promises instead of trusting His timing, or like Esau, despising our spiritual inheritance because we're too focused on meeting our immediate needs. The message confronts our modern obsession with instant gratification, where everything must be microwaveable and immediate. Yet God's promises require patience, faith, and trust. Isaac waited twenty years for the promise of children, while Esau couldn't wait twenty minutes for food. This contrast reveals the heart of our spiritual struggle: will we seek first God's kingdom and righteousness, allowing all other things to be added, or will we chase after the added things and lose both the promise and lasting satisfaction?

Desperate Pursuit of Jesus
2026/06/28
This sermon is a Part II exploring Mark chapter 5, where we encounter a woman whose desperation becomes her doorway to healing. For twelve years, she lived as an outcast, ostracized by society, bleeding and broken. Yet in her darkest moment, she made a choice that would change everything: she pushed through the crowd to touch the hem of Jesus' garment. This wasn't just any touch—she was reaching for the tzitzit, the tassels that represented the messianic prophecy from Malachi 4:2 about the Son of Righteousness rising with healing in His wings. Her faith wasn't passive; it was active, courageous, and desperate. What's striking is that Jesus felt power leave Him in that moment, not because of proximity, but because of faith-filled desperation. Her desperation released power, and the same can be true for us when we stop playing church and start genuinely seeking His face.
