The Embodied Woman: Reclaim Your Body as Medicine, Power + Sacred Intelligence ✨
2026/10/12
What if the discipline you've been searching for isn't another routine, another list, or another way to push yourself harder? What if it's learning to listen to your body? In this special Wild Temple teaching, Brooke Shannon Sullivan shares The Embodied Woman, an exploration of Ayurveda, yoga, Tantra, and the ancient wisdom of living in rhythm with your own body and with Mother Nature. The body is not an obstacle on the path to spiritual awakening. It is the vessel, the altar, and the doorway. Brooke explores how tending to the physical body creates the foundation for deeper work in the subtle body, allowing us to reclaim vitality, strengthen our boundaries, gather our energy, awaken dormant capacities, and ultimately become more fully ourselves. Drawing from the Gheranda Samhita, tantric teachings, Ayurvedic principles, and the seasonal rhythms of the Dharmic Revolution, Brooke challenges the modern obsession with productivity, perfectionism, and rigid discipline. She offers another possibility: that true discipline can emerge from attunement. When we align with the rhythms of our bodies, the seasons, the moon, the sun, and the natural world, something begins to shift. We stop leaking our energy. We create refuge within ourselves. We build capacity. And from that capacity, our deeper power can emerge. In this episode: ✨ The body as medicine and sacred altar ✨ Ayurveda, yoga, and Tantra as a progressive path to embodiment ✨ How to stop leaking your energy into other people's needs and beliefs ✨ Durga, Lakshmi, and Matangi as archetypes of boundary, vitality, and expression ✨ The Gheranda Samhita and the body as a pathway to spiritual evolution ✨ Why nature may hold the key to a new understanding of discipline ✨ Embodiment, Kundalini, prana, and the subtle body ✨ The three aims of yoga: know yourself, awaken your inner powers, serve the world ✨ Reclaiming spaciousness, vitality, pleasure, and time ✨ The Dharmic Revolution and living in alignment with the cycles of nature The invitation is simple, but profound: Stop dragging your body along for the ride. Listen to it. Tend to it. Trust it. Inhabit it. Because the more fully you inhabit yourself, the more capacity you have for the life, work, love, creativity, and spiritual evolution that are calling you forward. Our World as Kin: Land + Lineage Devotions for Pitru Paksha
2026/09/26
What if your ancestors aren’t only the people whose blood runs through your veins? What if the river, the mountain, the trees, the food, and the living land beneath your feet are also part of your lineage? In this episode of The Wild Temple Podcast, Brooke Shannon Sullivan enters the ancestral season of Pitru Paksha, a sacred window for honoring what has come before us and discerning what we carry forward. She explores the blessings and burdens woven into our inheritance, from family beliefs and survival patterns to colonization, disconnection, and our relationship with the land itself. Drawing from her own relationship with the Appalachian Mountains, Brooke invites us to listen differently to the places we live. To notice the animals. Cook the foods of our ancestors. Learn the history of the land. Sit beside a river. Ask what the old trees might teach us. Because awareness creates choice. And choice creates the possibility of repair. This episode is an invitation to slow down, listen, and remember that you belong to something much older than yourself. The land has been speaking all along and this is the season to learn how to listen. In this episode: Entering the ancestral season of Pitru PakshaThe blessings and burdens we inheritWhy Mother Nature can become a teacher, guide, and ancestorReconnecting with land, lineage, food, plants, animals, and placeMoving beyond inherited patterns of scarcity, separation, and dominationSimple practices for honoring ancestors through food, nature, observation, and offeringsWhat it means to burn karma, serve dharma, and live in greater reciprocity with the Earth To access the shanti peace mantra mentioned in the episode, become a member of our Twilight Community https://www.thewildtemple.com/shakta-yoga-library  This fall, we enter our 20th year of The Sage Apprenticeship. Adorning the Goddess: The Soft Power of True Feminine Empowerment with Katie Rose ✨
2026/09/11
In this episode of Wild Temple, Brooke Shannon Sullivan and Katie Rose explore the messy, mystical, deeply human work of becoming your own authority. They talk about gurus, beauty, motherhood, menopause, intuition, productivity, and the many ways women are taught to override what they actually know. From Dolly Parton to the “god of productivity” to Brooke’s mythical Lady of the Lake, this conversation asks what becomes possible when we stop performing empowerment and start living it. Inside the conversation: What it really means to stop outsourcing your powerWhy discernment may be more important than certaintyThe difference between agency and believing you have to do everything yourselfWhat Ayurveda reveals about the changing seasons of a woman’s lifeWhy midlife may be an invitation to do less, not become moreHow beauty, spirituality, motherhood, and even our bodies can become places where we give our authority awayLearning to hear your intuition beneath everyone else’s expectationsMaybe the path back to yourself isn’t another practice, protocol, achievement, or answer. Desire for Nourishment on All Levels ✨ with Ayurvedic Physician Michael Van Sciver
2026/08/25
In this episode of The Wild Temple, Brooke sits down with Ayurvedic practitioner, clinical herbalist, and wisdom teacher Michael Van Skiver to explore nourishment as a deeply relational experience. Together, they look beyond food and into the ways presence, connection, nature, pleasure, and reciprocity nourish us on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. Through the Ayurvedic concepts of Agni, Rasa, Pushti, and the Dhatus, Brooke and Michael explore how what we take in becomes part of who we are, why our relationships can either nourish or deplete us, and how our attention shapes what we are able to truly digest. They also explore the practice of meeting the world with greater reverence, from tending a garden and washing the dishes to sharing food, dancing tango, and simply allowing ourselves to be seen. Because nourishment isn't just about consuming more. It's about cultivating deeper relationship with ourselves, each other, and the living world around us. 5 Pranic Arrows: The Hidden Power of the Prana Vayus
2026/08/11
In this episode, Brooke reflects on our multifaceted nature as humans, and how, at any point in time, we can turn inward and discover something about who we are right now. How are you showing up—or not showing up? What becomes visible when you take an honest assessment of where you are in your life? This turning inward is especially potent during the energies of the New Moon and solar eclipse. Brooke begins with a few questions for reflection: What are your goals at this time? What skills have you been sleeping on that wish to wake up? What are you imagining, avoiding, longing for, or ready to see more clearly? The episode centers around two areas of introspection. The first is the Seven of Cups, the Tarot card Brooke pulled before recording. This card speaks to where we are in our own storyline and to the many possibilities before us—possibilities that can sometimes feel conflicting when we aren't clear about who we are or what we truly want. It invites us to look honestly at the stories, desires, dreams, and illusions filling our inner world, and to discern what is actually asking for our attention. This is a perfect card pull for the heart of the episode: one of Brooke’s favorite teachings from Ayurveda and Yoga, and one she believes is a missing ingredient in many modern yoga practitioners’ repertoire. It brings us into the hidden power of yoga—the intelligence of prāṇa, and how understanding its five movements, the prāṇa vāyus, can aid us in designing practices that support the deeper inner changes we seek—the ones that can often feel difficult to access or shift on our own. Through Prāṇavidyā—the study of prāṇa, or the life-force energy moving through us and all of nature—we begin to understand yoga practice in a different way. Brooke introduces the five prāṇa vāyus of Ayurveda and Yoga and explores how, when they become the centerpiece of a wisely designed practice, they can function like five pranic “arrows.” Each vāyu becomes a direct force we can work with to support the change we are seeking and help move us toward a particular goal. And these goals aren't only physical. While each vāyu describes a particular way energy moves through the body and supports our physiology, these movements of prāṇa also influence our emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and patterns. The five arrows therefore give us a surprisingly simple map for self-inquiry: Where is our energy stuck? Where are we holding on? Where are we scattered or depleted? Where are we having difficulty expressing ourselves, receiving what we need, or moving forward? And because the same life force that moves through us also moves through nature, Brooke introduces another layer to this exploration: the Yoga of Flowers. This is where nature-loving yoginis can begin to understand the relationship between prāṇa, plants, and the power of the subtle. Drawing from more than 25 years of experience with yoga and plant wisdom, Brooke distills these teachings into an episode about learning to see ourselves more clearly—and then using the intelligence of yoga and nature to help move our lives in the direction we wish to go. The Wild Irish Cry: Reclaiming the Keen with Mary McLaughlin, PHD
2026/07/25
A sacred ritual is returning. After centuries of suppression under colonial rule, the Irish Keen is being reclaimed. Once an essential communal ritual of grief, praise, remembrance, and devotion, this powerful vocal tradition was systematically severed from the Irish people, leaving generations disconnected from one of their deepest ancestral practices. Today, that lineage is being remembered and brought back to life. In this extraordinary episode of the Wild Temple Podcast, Brooke Sullivan is joined by Dr. Mary McLaughlin, one of the world's foremost scholars and practitioners of the Irish Keen, to explore the history, mystery, and living revival of this profound tradition. More than a lament, the Keen was a sacred ritual that helped communities move through death, honor the dead, celebrate life, and maintain an unbroken relationship with the unseen world. Together, they explore how colonialism interrupted this ancient lineage and why reclaiming the Keen is about far more than preserving folklore. It is about restoring a way of grieving, remembering, and belonging that modern culture has largely forgotten. This episode is an invitation to remember what has been hidden. To reclaim a tradition that refused to disappear. To discover how the wild Irish cry still echoes through the land, the body, and the ancestral heart, waiting for us to listen once again. Whether you come with Irish ancestry or simply a longing to reconnect with ritual, voice, and community, this conversation offers a powerful reminder that what has been severed can be restored, and that some of our oldest medicines are also the ones our world most needs today. Suffering Is Not a Detour: Yoga, Healing & the Wisdom of Wild Oats
2026/05/30
Many of us come to yoga seeking relief. Perhaps we're overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, grief, chronic patterns, or simply the feeling that something in life is not quite aligned. Yoga can be profoundly therapeutic, helping us calm the mind, strengthen the body, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with ourselves. But what if healing is only the beginning? In this episode, Brooke reflects on a powerful teaching from her late teacher, Rolf Sovik, exploring the four reasons people come to yoga: healing, joyful living, self-enfoldment, and self-realization. Together, we examine why healing and enlightenment are not separate paths, and how our suffering may actually become the doorway to greater wisdom, purpose, and wholeness. Brooke also explores the wisdom of Wild Oats through the lens of flower essences, Yoga Sutra I.17, and the concept of ālambana—the resting ground of the mind. Discover how plants, flower essences, mantra, and meditation can support us in being present with life's challenges while awakening the deeper intelligence of the soul. If you've ever wondered why your healing journey feels intertwined with your spiritual path, this conversation offers a compassionate and empowering perspective on what it means to live in alignment with your dharma. Don That Batsuit! From Survival to Empowered Connection with Kristin Keliher
2026/05/15
What happens when the deep, (often hidden) desire for safety becomes the organizing force of our lives? In this timely episode of The Wild Temple Podcast, Brooke Sullivan is joined by clinical therapist and school counselor Kristin Keliher for a deeply honest conversation about nervous systems, overperformance, community care, and what it means to become an empowered human in a world organized around fear, productivity, and survival. Drawing from polyvagal theory, psychoeducation, trauma work, and lived experience, they explore how the unconscious drive for safety can secretly shape identity, relationships, spirituality, and activism, narrowing our capacity for rest, authenticity, connection, and collective care. Together, they unpack cognitive dissonance, burnout culture, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and the ways many women have been conditioned to abandon their true selves in order to belong. The conversation moves between the deeply personal and the profoundly collective: from childhood self-expression and school systems to mutual aid, white saviorism, patriarchy, and the crumbling structures of modern society. Rather than offering bypassing or easy answers, this episode asks a more vital question:  What helps us feel safe enough to live with empowered reciprocity and wider circles of care? Through reflections on embodiment and micro acts of resistance, Brooke and Kristin illuminate a path from contraction toward connection, from hypervigilance toward relational belonging, from self-protection toward collective love. This conversation is reminder that healing is not only personal. It is communal, relational, and deeply political. Sometimes the revolution begins with nervous system repair. Sometimes, by casting wider nets. We feel it definitely begins with the freedom to don your Batsuit. This fall, we enter our 20th year of The Sage Apprenticeship. The Greatest Hits of a Nectarous, Divine Science✨
2026/04/02
Happy Spring!  In this episode of The Wild Temple Podcast, host Brooke Shannon Sullivan explores how Tantra, Yoga Therapy, Prana Vidya, Ayurveda, herbalism, and Kundalini come together as a holistic science to support desire as a generative force, dharmic living, and self‑mastery. Recorded on a Full Moon in Hasta Nakshatra, Brooke weaves in the symbolism of the hands (Anjali, food measurement, relationship with nourishment) as she turns toward a more practical, embodied question: How do we actually start the day in a way that aligns us with life force instead of resistance? Brooke speaks candidly about the “first battle of resistance” in the morning—waking up and not doing the things we know would help us feel good.  From there, Brooke opens the lens to Tantra as the overarching science that helped her integrate years of work in yoga, midwifery, and herbalism.  A major theme is the integration of many passions into a coherent, prana‑led life. Speaking to listeners who feel “too multi‑passionate” or scattered, Brooke describes how working with prana helps highlight which callings are most alive and shows how they are meant to be woven together into a personal wheelhouse or niche.  She underscores the need for proper nervous system preparation, incremental doses of energy work, and safe containers, and explains how Tantra Yoga Therapy uses mantra, specific pranayamas, sequencing (vinyasa krama), and a trauma‑aware lens to guide, channel, and assimilate big energies like Kundalini awakenings, strong pranayama, birth, accidents, and even entheogenic journeys. Finally, Brooke introduces the two certification tracks within the Sage Apprenticeship: Tantra Yoga & Dharmic Living – for personal mastery, health, mental calm, and empowered, spiritually aligned living (ideal for seekers and professionals who want to bring depth and integrity into their existing fields).Tantra Yoga Therapy Teacher – a 500hr Yoga Alliance–registered path for those who want the skills and credentials to safely teach, guide, and hold others through prana‑centered, trauma‑aware yoga and Tantra.Throughout the episode, Brooke emphasizes integrity, safety, and devotion to nature’s intelligence. She invites listeners who feel called—especially multi‑passionate, heart‑led seekers and wellness professionals—to explore the Sage Apprenticeship, stay connected via thewildtemple.com and on Instagram @thewildtemple, and to begin, even today, by claiming a pleasure‑filled, pranic anchor practice that lets them become “a little sun,” radiating their unique light into the world. Pleasurable Detoxes, Spellbinding & A Window into Chaitra Navratri
2026/03/17
This week’s episode of the Wild Temple Podcast opens with Brooke feeding the crows and reflecting on the strange landscape of the modern world. A recent encounter on social media—someone spell binding  through their Instagram reel—felt both jarring and strangely revealing. It sparked a deeper contemplation about the subtle ways we influence one another every day, often without realizing it. Not through grand gestures, but through the power of our thoughts, reactions, and the stories we carry in our minds. From this reflection arises a deeper inquiry: how do we begin to look more honestly at our own minds? How do we notice the ways we react to people, the ways we project, the ways our emotions can surge like storms within us—and begin refining them so that we become steadier, clearer, and more compassionate human beings? In this episode, Brooke reflects on the importance of taking responsibility for our inner landscape, recognizing that the work we do with our own minds has real impact on the world around us. Because this season of desire also invites us into pleasure, the conversation gently turns toward how we might orient our lives toward what truly nourishes us. What happens when we allow pleasure—not indulgence, but deep nourishment for the body and senses—to guide us back into harmony with ourselves and the rhythms of nature? This conversation opens the doorway into the upcoming Chaitra Navaratri & Devi Sādhana Cleanse, a seasonal practice Brooke has facilitated for seven years alongside Ayurvedic physician Michael Van Sciver. Unlike conventional cleanses that focus on restriction or deprivation, this experience centers on deep nourishment and seasonal alignment. Rooted in Ayurvedic wisdom yet approached in a unique and refreshing way, the cleanse helps participants gently shift their habits so that the mind becomes more positive and compassionate, the body begins to release unhealthy cravings, and the senses rediscover the beauty of truly nutritive food. The practices are intentionally simple—often as easy as one-pot meals and uncomplicated daily rhythms—making it possible to participate even within the fullness of everyday life. Rather than adding stress or complexity, the cleanse becomes a sweet and supportive window of time to realign with the season through food, sensory awareness, and nourishing practices. Listeners who feel called can learn more about this year’s cleanse by visiting https://www.thewildtemple.com/Navratri-Regenerative-Cleanse And for those ready to go deeper, the Sage Apprenticeship at The Wild Temple School is right around the corner. This beloved Navaratri cleanse is included as part of the apprenticeship journey, offering students a powerful seasonal initiation into the deeper practices of Tantra Yoga, Ayurveda, and Dharmic living. https://www.thewildtemple.com/sage-apprenticeship Sometimes the most meaningful shifts begin with very small refinements—such as how we observe the mind, nourish the body, and how we choose to show up in the world with care. Kitchen Talk - Maha Sri Yaga - Khajuraho, India
2026/03/03
Streaming from a Himalayan Institute campus in India, this intimate “Kitchen Talk” episode of The Wild Temple Podcast unfolds in the midst of a rare six-month Himalayan practice known as Maha Sri Yaga, a devotional immersion of daily mantra, meditation, and fire ceremonies devoted to tending the subtle forces of nature and refining what is nonessential- for a 6 month period of time. From this sacred container of retreat and rhythm, Brooke gathers around the "kitchen table" with fellow practitioners including ER physician Dr. Adwaita from Guyana/Toronto, animator Hannah from Florida/LA, and yoga teacher Kia Miller for an unscripted, heart-led conversation on living tantra in real time. Together they explore what it means to bring spiritual knowledge out of philosophy and into lived experience. Themes of ahimsa, humility, surrender, ego, and discernment weave through reflections on relationship, healing, and the courage to feel deeply. Strong emotions like anger are reframed as shakti, or intelligent life force, while trauma is approached not as identity, but as something to meet with elemental gentleness and embodied awareness. This episode is both grounded and mystical and a reminder that awakening happens not only in ceremony, but in kitchens, conversations, and the daily pauses where we soften, listen, and let ourselves be reshaped. The temple is not elsewhere. It is here in practice, in presence, in the pulse of being alive. This fall, we enter our 20th year of The Sage Apprenticeship.
