Whenever I see a homeless person, a question comes to my mind over and over again: “How can I actually help this person?” Today’s episode seeks to answer that question. This week’s content is the second episode I’ve produced highlighting personal stories of church hurt. Today, I get to talk with my best friend about HIS experience growing up in a church that struggled with domineering leadership.  Like last week, I want to say that this episode is really exciting for me to release. Church Hurt is a massive topic, and there is no way to comprehensively cover or fix the issue in a 35 minute pod. That being said, I loved being able to highlight Sam’s story and his processing after the fact. Thank you Sam; thanks to Jenae for making this episode possible as well. This week’s episode sounds a bit different than normal. Today, I get to do two things: 1) examine the Healy’s story of church hurt and 2) have a conversation with Israel Healy about the topic itself.  This episode is really exciting for me to release. Church Hurt is a massive topic, and there is no way I did it justice in less than 40 minutes. That being said, I loved being able to highlight Israel’s family and the biblical processing they utilized in and through their experience. Here’s the bottom line, serving is NOT optional.  Several months ago, I recorded a conversation with Tabitha North, the director of the nonprofit ministry, Agape Center in Lynchburg, VA. I have been very blessed to serve at Agape several times, and on today’s episode, we have a conversation about her roots in ministry and how she became the director of Agape LYH. We also dive into the profound impact Agape has had on the community and ways the body of Christ can bless Agape’s ministry going forward.  At the end of today’s podcast, I lay out the biblical precedent for our need to serve.
