Alma Iuris: od paragrafů ke kabelkám
2026/10/19
A jaké případy k tomu eviduje česká i evropská judikatura? O tom všem jsme si povídali přes aplikaci Teams, protože dr. Červinka byl na stáži v Dublinu. Omluvte prosím horší kvalitu zvuku.
O daních s Ondřejem Málkem: Návrat EET, švarcsystém i globální minimální daň
2026/03/19
Rozebírali jsme i právní otázky imunit zodpovědných politických špiček a jurisdikce, změny v mezinárodní politické podpoře, sankcích, vojenské pomoci Západu a perspektivě budoucích reparací a obnově poválečné Ukrajiny.

Rethinking EU Integration Through Money, Crisis, and Governance – A Conversation with Päivi Leino-Sandberg
2025/12/16
Recorded at the European Law Unbound conference, this episode features Päivi Leino-Sandberg discussing her new book on how Europe’s “Next Generation EU” recovery instrument is reshaping the trajectory of European integration. We trace the political and legal choices behind the Union’s turn to large-scale market borrowing, the blurry boundary between emergency measures and long-term governance, and the quiet transformation of the Commission into a far more powerful economic actor. The conversation also explores what happens when crisis-driven financial tools become permanent, how national parliaments lose influence in this new model, and why democratic accountability struggles to keep pace with the EU’s expanding fiscal architecture.
Rethinking the Right to Abortion in Europe – A Conversation with Gianluca Gasparini
2025/12/09
Recorded at the European Law Unbound conference, this episode features Gianluca Gasparini of the University of Catanzaro discussing his research on abortion rights from a European legal perspective. The conversation traces why abortion remains one of the most politically, ethically, and institutionally contested issues in Europe, even in countries where it is formally legal. We explore how conscientious objection, procedural limits, and uneven regional access continue to shape the practical availability of abortion; how constitutional developments in countries like France may signal a broader European shift; and what space the EU has—or should have—for defining common standards in such a sensitive domain. Gasparini also reflects on three core concepts he sees as central to any future European approach: autonomy, equality, and vulnerability.
Enforcement, Autonomy, and Society: Digital Regulation at the EU Level
2025/12/04
Recorded at the European Law Unbound conference, this episode features Joanna Mazur and Anton Naparelski from the University of Warsaw. Together we explore how procedural autonomy, civil-society participation, and enforcement structures shape the EU’s fast-evolving digital regulatory landscape.
The conversation moves from the Digital Markets Act to the AI Act, asking how much enforcement should remain at the Member State level, when the Commission should step in, and whether civil-society organisations can realistically influence compliance in an environment dominated by technical expertise and powerful platforms. We also look at cross-border cooperation challenges, uneven enforcement capacities, and why access to information—including public databases of national decisions—matters for accountability in Europe’s digital governance.
Teaching the EU Law with Vlad Perju
2025/11/18
Recorded at the European Law Unbound conference, this episode features a conversation with Vlad Perju about how European Union law is taught on both sides of the Atlantic. We explore why EU law looks different in U.S. classrooms than in European ones, how constitutional traditions shape the way students understand integration, and what these diverging teaching philosophies reveal about the very nature of the EU project.
Europe, AI, and the Boundaries of Regulation – A Conversation with Hildur Hjörvar
2025/11/11
Recorded at the European Law Unbound conference in Prague, this episode features Hildur Hjörvar from Iceland, a legal expert currently working with the EFTA Surveillance Authority in Brussels. Together we discuss what it means to be “European” beyond the EU, and dive into Hildur’s research on the EU Artificial Intelligence Act. The conversation explores the challenges of regulating AI through a human-rights lens, the idea of “red-teaming” European AI governance, and how Europe’s legal experiments might shape global standards.
EU Lawlessness Law – A Conversation with Dimitry Kochenov
2025/10/30
In this episode, recorded at the European Law Unbound conference in Prague, we talk with Professor Dimitry Kochenov about the paradox of “EU lawlessness law.” The discussion traces how the European Union, founded on the rule of law, sometimes enables its own legal and moral blind spots—from migration policies at Europe’s borders to the limits of democratic accountability within EU institutions. Kochenov challenges us to ask whether the Union’s legal architecture truly constrains power—or quietly reproduces it under the banner of integration.
Data Protection, Privacy, and Press Freedom: A Conversation with Maria Magierska
2025/10/24
Recorded during the European Law and Boundaries conference in Prague, this episode features a discussion with Maria Magierska from the University of Amsterdam on how data protection law intersects with democracy and journalism. Together we unpack the tension between privacy rights and freedom of expression, the weaponization of GDPR against journalists, and how recent European cases—from Monaco to Hungary—shape the limits of public interest and the right to be forgotten.
O environmentálně šetrném provozu institucí s Renatou Plackovou z Ekologického institutu Veronica.
2025/10/09
Why in Prague with prof. von Bogdandy
2025/10/09
In this episode of the zPráva podcast, we take you to the heart of European legal scholarship — the European Law Unbound (ELU) conference in Prague, where a new academic platform is emerging to connect lawyers across Europe, disciplines, and generations. Our guest is Professor Armin von Bogdandy, one of Europe’s leading legal theorists, who discusses the purpose behind creating this new legal society, the idea of European identity, the perceived divide between “old” and “new” member states, and why Europe should embrace its diversity rather than fear it. he conversation also reaches deeper themes — the role of Central Europe today, how language shapes our perception of Europe, and whether legal academia can help strengthen European cohesion at a time of war and weakening transatlantic ties. And of course - why the ELU-S starts in Prague. Recording took place during the ELU conference 25-27 September 2025
