Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! Sometimes we aren't all on the same page. Sometimes we dislike a piece of media. Sometimes we like it, but we acknowledge it still doesn't cohere. Rarely to we get to pull out the full gallon of pure, concentrated Haterade like we do for Death on the Nile (2022). Hoo boy, this one is rough, and we do our best to tackle a messy movie that stars several uh... s****y people. Branagh tries to make this film epic and give pathos to Poirot that unfortunately doesn't work for any of us. Join us for a romp through this disaster of a movie! Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! We're continuing our movie marathon of Poirot adaptations with John Guillermin's 1978 rendition of Death on the Nile, another lavish production with on-location shooting, many extras, and a star-studded cast. This time however, Peter Ustinov takes on the role of Hercule Poirot, and he does a fine job with a slightly different take on the character that nevertheless endears himself to us. We also cover Angela Lansbury's delightfully wacky performance, the cowardly communist, the many death sequences, and other escapades on the boat. We also cover Rose's recent move, Tiago debating which Poirot he likes more, and we also answer a listener question from loooong ago! NEXT TIME: Death on the Nile (2022) dir. We've jumped into the future now with a more recent adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express, from famed actor/director Kenneth Branagh, which promises bombast and glamour, plus an expensive train set! Oh baby, we just fought uphill and back, through two anime conventions, illness, and more life stuff, but we made it! Schlock Homes is complete. Bathroom readers were not meant to be shotgunned back-to-back like this. However, we still find some fun bits to appreciate, like Homes and Watney's excessive drinking, Watney's desire to watch cartoons, art history humor for Rose, and several goofy punctuation jokes that work amazingly on the page but are a bit harder to describe. Join us as Ben, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! You better be ready for some puns! Actually, not just some puns... a TON of puns! This wacky parody of Sherlock Homes by Robert L. Fish is a silly pun-vehicle, delivering dump trucks full of every possible pun imaginable. The whole time the two confidently stumble into the wrong solution - but they're solutions nonetheless. Did we expire under the weight of these puns? Or did we perhaps split this book into two parts, so as to not suffer unduly? Well, simply look at the "Part 1" in the title and see if you can deduce the solution, my dear Watney!
