Seth Morrison, Part 2, The Final Podcast
2026/08/31
Seth Morrison is my final and my most important podcast guest over the past 10 years. Welcome to episode 500 where Seth answers the questions we all want to know regarding his progression, his relationships with people like McConkey, his prolific pro career, the "cowardly" way he describes it ending, and a lot more. It's the last podcast with the legend, the myth, the ghost, the icon that is Seth Morrison.  And, legends and Ski Hall of Famers Kent Kreitler, Chris Davenport, Mike Douglas, and Brad Holmes ask the Inappropriate Questions and snowboard legend Jeremy Jones makes a guest appearance.  Seth Morrison Show Notes: 3:00: Biking, Jeremy Jones cameo, learning tricks, Olympics/Natural Selection, and fear  20:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 22:00: Walking away, adrenaline, building a segment, yearly progression, legends in the mountains, McConkey, Freeze, and athlete teams. 37:00: Outdoor Research: The best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 43:00: When did skiing become a job, sacrifice, pro models, money, awards, and a whole bunch of "what happened", and the end of pro skiing. 68:00: Inappropriate Questions with Kent Kreitler, Mike Douglas, Chris Davenport, and Brad Holmes
Seth Morrison, Legendary Skier
2026/08/24
Seth Morrison is the ski icon that I wanted to launch this podcast with 10 years ago, but Seth doesn't do interviews. He told me no for 3 years and I stopped bothering him.  I gave it one last shot a few months ago and Seth said yes! Now, I'm able to end the 500-episode run of The Powell Movement with my favorite, every pro's favorite, every fan's favorite, and every industry person's favorite pro skier, Seth Morrison. This is the Sid Vicious looking ski pioneer that brought high consequence tricks to the backcountry, went bigger than everyone, and got the loudest cheers at all the movie premieres. In part one we talk about the early days and Pep Fujas, Lhotse Merriam Hawk, and Mike Jaquet ask the Inappropriate Questions.   Seth Morrison Show Notes: 3:00: Why podcast, early days, family, skiing, warming, and Vail 20:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 22:00: Racing, finding the backcountry, who he looks up to, college, product he liked, compromise, his 37:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 43:00: The US Extreme's, full face, why was he better, Warren Miller, MSP, AK, guides, partying, working side jobs, early seasons, K2, the end of comps, and the heli crash 82:00: Inappropriate Questions with Pep Fujas, Lhotse Merriman Hawk, and Mike Jaquet
Rory Bushfield, Legendary Pro Skier/Personality
2026/08/17
Rory Bushfield is one of my favorite skiers/personalities, and I loved parts 1 and two of his podcast so much that I had to record a third time with Bushy Wayne before I close out the Powell Movement.  Rory and I have already talked about a lot of important skiing history. Since we last recorded, Rory went viral with a Monster funded aviation stunt, and then he had a life altering accident that changed everything.  While accepting life in a new body could crush some, Bushy still has that "blow it if you got it" mentality and he's already pushing the limits of what's possible in his new existence. On the podcast we talk about Bushland, death, grief, flying, the accident, and a whole lot more.  Roy Tuscany asks the Inappropriate Questions. Rory Bushfield Show Notes: 3:00: Shane Szocs, death, 9 lives, pushing people to their limits, Danny Trejo, and Bushyland 20:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 22:00: Barefoot Pilot, his accident, healing with hallucinogens and Josh Dueck, and High Fives 37:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 39:00: New body, same Bushy, his many unique vehicles, Jet packs, and what's next 50:00: Inappropriate Questions with Roy Tuscany
Zeb Powell, Pro Snowboarder, Culture-Shifter
2026/08/10
Zeb Powell is the present and future of style in snowboarding and this week, it's a Powell-on-Powell episode aka Two Powell's One Pod. Like everyone, I've been blown away by what Zeb does on a 200cm+ board, off a knuckle, the vibe he brings to snowboarding,, and his creativity. I've wanted to get him on the show for a long time, and I'm stoked he's my last snowboard guest. On the podcast, we talk about Brand Jordan, NC, his family, his path, Stratton, X, and so much more.  I'm closing out snowboarding with a legend in the making and Zeb doesn't disappoint. Zeb Powell Show Notes: 3:00: Powell, nomadic lifestyle, Brand Jordan, and spin to win 20:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 22:00: Contests, Freeride, adopted, family, race, and skate/snow 40:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 41:00: Woodward Copper, contests, the path to pro, Hood, X Games, his boards, and what's next 61:00: Inappropriate Questions
Markus Eder, Italian Olympian, FWT World Champion, Legend
2026/08/03
Markus Eder is the final European skier on the podcast and he's arguably the most important. Markus's career took off after he won an internet wild card to Nine Knights in 2010, then it exploded even more at Red Bull Linecatcher, and if that wasn't enough, he lit the web on fire with his 2021 "The Ultimate Run" release.  Honestly, Markus may be the most versatile skier I've ever had on the podcast. A bold statement but the guy was a slopestyle athlete on the Italian Olympic team in Sochi in 2014, he's a film skier that consistently puts out segments, he was a Freeride World Tour athlete who won the whole tour in 2019, and he's spent the past two seasons standing on the podium at Travis Rice's prestigious Natural Selection events. I've been trying to get Markus on the show for years and this timed perfectly for him to give his opinions on FIS, federations, and the Olympics. Red Bull. Volkl, and "Legs of Steel" partner in crime, Paddy Graham asks the Inappropriate Questions. Markus Eder Show Notes: 3:00: Knee, Olympics, how it used to be, no coaching, Italian Team issues, and freeride in the Olympics 22:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 23:00: Will this impact film skiers, passion and style, his parents, racing, skiing year-round, knowing nothing about the new school, snowblading with snowboarders, and twin tips 42:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 43:00: Nine Knights, Palmer skis, Line Catcher, MSP Movement, The Ultimate Run, and FWT, and more but I forgot to keep taking notes  78:00: Inappropriate Questions with Paddy Graham
Eric Pollard, Skiing Visionary, Legend
2026/07/27
Eric Pollard has had a bigger impact than almost anyone in skiing over the last 25 years.  From being one of the pioneering switch and rail riders of the late 90's, to his mind-blowing ski designs, to his 20 years of video parts, to his award-winning media company Nimbus Independent, to the ski company he started (and was recently bought out of) Season, Eric Pollard has always been a visionary. And like many visionaries, a lot of his ideas were made fun of and misunderstood before they became cool mainstream. I've been trying to get Eric on the show for 10 years and this is truly a podcast with a living legend. Another legend, Andy Mahre, asked the Inappropriate Questions. Pollard Show Notes: 3:00: Season, child Hood, skiing, art, sports, ski racing, summer, snowboarding, no poles,    22:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better.  23:00: Style, racing, and Line 42:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 43:00: Ski design, people not understanding what he was building, early films, Idea, Nimbus, his leg injury, "Drawn from Here" and not owning Season anymore 78:00: Inappropriate Questions with Andy Mahre
Lisa Hudson, Action Sports Visionary
2026/07/20
Lisa Hudson was a professional beach volleyball player and champion for women's volleyball before she started blazing a trail for women in action sports. Starting with the gravy days of Airwalk in the early 90's, Lisa has always been a proven people connector who's fought for her fellow women because she could. From starting the first women's outerwear brand (Prom) and co-founding Boarding for Breast Cancer, to ensuring Hall of Fame athletes like Shannon Dunn and Tina Basich had a path in snowboarding, to making sure women and brands were included in her video game projects, Lisa's career has not only been successful, she's been a force for women in sports and her story is important and heavy at times. Luke Edgar asks the Inappropriate Questions Lisa Hudson Show Notes: 3:00: Olympics, volleyball, Airwalk, lifestyle, and athletes 20:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 22:00: More Airwalk and the end, women, and Swag/Prom 40:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 41:00: Twist/Tuesday/Titan, video games, and Boarding for Breast Cancer 65:00: Inappropriate Questions with Luke Edgar.
Glen Plake Grand Finale
2026/07/13
Glen Plake is the most legendary, the most known skier of our time—maybe of all time—and I've interviewed him more than anyone. But this podcast series couldn't end without a final Plake episode, and this one was timed perfectly, the day after Freeride was named an Olympic sport. You can bet Glen has a strong opinion about that, and we also talk about FIS, SIA, skiing, life, Kimberley, and so much more.  It's another fun episode with a living legend and I get some new stories out of Glen.  Elan Trip of a Lifetime Show Notes: 3:00: Goon Squad, FIS, cultural tobacco and clean living 20:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. Motu Truck Caps  22:00: Speedo's, his neck, trash, collar shirt, money, and Kimberley 40:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 41:00: Plake style, living above and below 6k feet, his dad, would he have changed anything, product and brand involvement,  attention, autographs, and what's next 65:00: Inappropriate Questions:
TPM Episode 492: Elan Factory Tour and Trip
2026/07/06
Elan Skis is a longtime sponsor, and they have been telling me for years that I would be visiting their factory in Slovenia to see their incredible ski process, factory, and culture. While I was flattered that they would even suggest bringing me out, I never expected it to happen. But it didn't just happen, it happened in All-Time fashion. Not only did I get to travel to Europe and become great friends with a bunch of ski industry badasses, but we also got to see the Elan factory and meet the players. And the icing on the proverbial cake was that we sailed from Slovenia to Croatian an Elan Yacht, stopping along the way to swim, take in the sights, and eat incredible food. It truly was a non-ski, ski trip of a lifetime and Slovenia has it all: incredible food, people, the Alps, Wine Country, the Adriatic... Elan Trip of a Lifetime Show Notes: 8:00: Roy Ostendorf 14:00: Ziga 18:00: Elan Skis: Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. Motu Truck Caps 22:00: Vlass 29:00 Dan Kansteiner 32:00: Avery Pesce 35:00: Outdoor Research: The best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 38:00: Rob McCutcheon 44:00: Kristal Dragon 48:00: Keaton Powell
Best of Inappropriate Questions, Final Round
2026/06/29
Inappropriate Questions is how I end every show. The idea is that I find a friend of my guest and record 3 questions with them. The questions can be anything that gets the guest to tell a funny, crazy, embarrassing or really, any good story. The goal is to get some gold without pissing off my  guest when I surprise them with the questions. This week, I have a long list of legends on this highlight show.  Think Angel and Johnny Collinson, Stan Rey, Uncle E, Matt Reardon, Jaren Grob, Jeff Pensiero, Kevin Quinn, and many more. This is a fan favorite segment of the show, and the final "Best Of" show. Best of Inappropriate Questions Show Notes: 5:00: Alexi Godbout asks Stan Rey 9:30: Roy Tuscany asks Jay Rawe 12:30: Uncle E asks Matt Reardon 14:00: Josh Loubek asks Matt Reardon 16:00: Paul Butler asks Sid Pattison 18:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. Motu Truck Caps 22:00: John Collinson asks Agnel Collinson 24:00: Angel Collinson asks Sage Cattabriga-Alosa 29:00: Cameron Card to Jaren Grob 31:00: Kevin Quinn 35:00:  Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 36:00: Tim Manning asks Jeff Pensiero 44:00: I ask Bob Landers
TPM Episode 490: Errol Kerr, Pro Skier, Olympian
2026/06/22
Errol Kerr's professional ski career is actually two ski careers.  A race part, where he was so close to making the World Cup and the US Alpine Ski Team and the other was his ski cross career, which was kick-started when he became a fully funded member of the US Ski Cross Team in his first race. Errol has competed all over the world, raced for Jamaica in the 2010 Olympics, and was a regular at the X-Games. But, while his life seemed perfect, it hasn't always been, and we talk about the highs of winning, the lows of mental health issues, and everything in between.  Connery Lundin and I ask the Inappropriate Questions Errol Kerr Show Notes: 4:00: The cover of Ski Magazine, Jamacia roots, Bay Area, growing up rich, BMX and Moto, moving to Truckee, losing his dad, racing and talent in Tahoe 20:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. Motu Truck Caps 22:00: Support of the Brotherhood, pressure, realizing he wasn't going to make the US Alpine Team, partying, Ski Cross, making the US Skier Cross Team by accident, and Warren Miller 40:00: Outdoor Research: The  best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 41:00: Jamaica Ski Team, money, almost not making the Olympics, injury, opening ceremonies, mental health, and what's next  57:00: Inappropriate Questions with Connery Lundin
Ryan Schmies, Legendary Ski Artist
2026/06/15
Ryan Schmies is one of the most talented illustrators in action sports and his game changing ski art  singlehandedly helped change the look and feel of skiing in the early 2000's. While he's best known for dark graphics like the Hellbent and Public Enemy franchises that he created during his 15 years at K2 Skis, in recent years Schmies' artistical talents have been showcased by brands like J Skis, Smith Optics, REI, Ikon Pass, and more. On the podcast we talk about coming up in Wisconsin, art, High North Ski Camp, athletes, and life in the ski industry.  Members of the Cascade Posse attempt to ask the Inappropriate Questions. Ryan Schmies Show Notes: 4:00: Satanfinger, broken face, Wisconsin, skiing, and High North Camp 25:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 26:00: Shane Szocs, rooming with McConkey, art, learning tricks the old fashioned way, college and K2 42:30: Outdoor Research: The best is designed and tested in the brutal conditons of the PNW and beyond 44:00: Illustrating, athletes, China,   63:00: Inappropriate Questions with Andy Harris, Duane, and Travis Groves
Josh Berman, Legendary Ski Filmmaker
2026/06/08
Josh Berman was an Ivy Leaguer on his way to becoming a professional skier when a catastrophic knee injury derailed his chances of becoming pro. But Josh's passion for skiing was as strong as ever and pre-surgery, Josh strapped up his leg, headed up the mountain and went out and shot for his first Level 1 Production. What was supposed to be a 3-year adventure in filmmaking turned into an award-winning 25+ year career in snow. It's one of those episodes that I had to record, for historical purposes, before I end the Movement.  Freedle Cody asks the Inappropriate Questions. Josh Berman Show Notes: 4:00: Warren Miller, ghosts, Hibbert, and favorite athletes 25:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 26:00: Overachiever in HS, Dartmouth, Internship through connections, going from wanting to be a Dr. to a filmmaker, new school skiing, sponsorship, and knee injury 42:30: Outdoor Research: The best is designed and tested in the brutal conditions of the PNW and beyond 44:00: Starting Level 1 on 1 leg, jobs to pay for ski movies, getting footage early on, distribution, Super Unknown, the interns, ending at 20, making a feature,  63:00: Inappropriate Questions with Freedle Cody
Outside Days Festival
2026/06/01
The Outside Days Festival is the crown jewel of what a festival should be in 2026. It is part industry summit, part independent film festival, part interactive brand activation hub, part park experience, and part incredible music festival all rolled up under the Outside umbrella.  This event was so well done. I used the access I was granted to take in as much as I could--to give you a peek behind the curtain.  I also got sound bites from 14 of the industry's greatest athletes and behind-the-scenes players, which makes for a fun episode. Outside Days Show Notes: 7:00: Robin Thurston 9:30: Jermey Bloom 13:30: Connor Hall 19:00: Peter from Lincoln Hills Cares 22:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 23:00: Paddy O 26:00: James Kelly 31:00: Stix 33:00: Tricia Byrnes 35:00: Cairo Foster 38:15: Andrew Cotty 40:30: Outdoor Research: The best is designed and tested in the brutal conditions of the PNW and beyond 42:00: Sierra Shafer 45:00: Chris Benchetler 47:00: Jeremy Jones 49:00: Amie Engerbretson
TPM Episode 486: Bob Landers, Snow Farmer
2026/05/25
Bob Landers is a lifelong snowboarder, an underground entrepreneur, a cannabis expert, and a dear friend of mine for almost 40 years.  He's also a professional guide-but I don't disclose any information about what or where on the podcast. What I do is take you on BTS tour of what it was like to be a big-time Colorado cannabis grower, seller, and ski bum in the pre legal era of marijuana.  On the podcast we talk about privilege, snowboarding, a passion for weed, Dead Tour, meeting the right connections, the business, and the wild west of legal weed. Bob sure can tell a story, and this podcast is instantly one of my favorites.  Bob Landers Show Notes: 4:00: High School, weed, snowboarding in the 80's,  dropping out of college, and Dead Tour 22:00: Elan Skis:  Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 23:00: Vail, back to school, the real world, The Man, trouble, secret rooms, The Gangula, search and rescue, 40:30: Outdoor Research: The best is designed and tested in teh PNW and beyond 42:00: That guy, the business, legalization, finding the perfect strain, and the wild west of legal weed 63:00: Inappropriate Questions with Matt Shannon
