It's been six minutes since our last adventure somehow and the Johnny Cocksures have found themselves on a road that goes nowhere and came from nowhere. Then Adam appears and tells them to steal a book. Then a woman appears on a stump and gives them some more information about the book. The boys are, of course, suspicious of all of this. Rightfully so.

Breaking into the mansion the Johnny Cocksures are confronted with a Hooked Horror that was maybe once a butler. In an effort to combat it Jackling Changeson learns the language of hooks and they trick it into facing the other direction then hit it in the back of the head with clubs. They got that Hooked Horror good!

Though Goosher has a map of the mansion the Johnny Cocksures are still constantly surprised and lost. In an effort to get to the basement they decide to forgo doors and stairs and just break directly through the floor. This of course, ends with multiple broken limbs and several serious bonks to the head. But it works, and that's the most important thing.

Truly this mansion is diabolical. In attempting to cross a room the Johnny Cocksures are ambushed by both dirty and clean suits of armor. Have no fear though, as Goosher calls upon that old D&D is for Nerds stable, grease! Grease will solve all your problems. That's what makes it so special.

After a misunderstanding and ensuing argument regarding a puzzle involving wine and wine barrels the Johnny Cocksures have come across a bunch of cultists worshipping a statue of some kind. A fight ensues and the Cultists put up very little fight and also keep referencing their wives. Not sure what that's about.

So things have gone very wrong. Jackling Changeson is invisible and now there's a horse and Goosher and Zamlion think the horse is Jackling but also the horse has seen something terrible and doesn't know how to process it because it's a horse. Plus there's a mysterious little girl. Things are only going to get worse.

Well it's all gone to shit. Possibly the world is ending. Whoops. Jackling Changeson is stuck in another dimension and Zamlion and Goosher are just trying to outrun the leaking horse. No one has messed up a heist worse than the Johnny Cocksures in this adventure. An absolute dogs breakfast.

The Johnny Cocksures are back and in hideous debt. To try and make some damn money they've taken another job, this time to rob/humiliate/gamble in the Afterlife Casino, a nine-hells themed casino run by the every charismatic Quentin Togglepocket. Also, possibly, something about a special statue. But first, the boys need to drink copious amounts of alcohol by a river.

Things are already off to a good start. In an effort to acquire some fancy clothes (?) Jackling Changeson has fallen into a river, alerting suspicion and destroying any chance the boys had of doing things quietly. Thankfully Jackling has the spell Create or Destroy Water, that should help him right? That seems useful? Also the coachmen are probably going to beat Zamlion up and Gooscher has decided to walk to the casino on foot. Things could not be going worse.

Well Jackling died. But all is not lost, this is the perfect opportunity for Gooscher to sneak into the casino under a fake name and then, well, he'll figure it out later I guess. Have the boys lost track of why they are here? Were they clear on that in the first place? Hard to say. Zamlion is justifiably pissed off about the money they're losing and decided to have a smoke at the bar, which will probably come back to bite him later.

Gooscher has a plan. A brilliant plan. Sneak away from the guards and hide in a laundry basket. Then, when the guards come looking for him, explode out the laundry basket and deal a devastating blow with his gooey fists, incapacitating security and allowing him to find the mysterious statue someone wants or something. Of course this goes exactly as you'd expect.

Locked up, half dead, the Johnny Cocksures are at their wits end. But worry not! Zamlion has a plan to get everybody out safely by pretending to work for whatever judicial body oversees the running of casinos. Unfortunately he's saddled with Gooscher, who has his own plans, and Jackling, who is starting, somehow, to attract bees. Nevertheless, I'm sure everything is going to be fine.

Oh! They're gonna try again! Well, not Zamlion, he's just going to chill by a river and catch some fish. But Jackling and Gooscher are definitely heading back in for round two, this time using the much mentioned Gamblemonculus. Well you know what they say, if at first you don't succeed, try and try again, no matter how many times you die. I think this time they'll succeed.

Here he is! The Gamblemonculus! Looking like a tiny ape and ready to roll some bones. Here's the plan: send the Gamblemonculus into the casino, tell him to win big, blank blank blank, humiliate the casino. It's an insurance scam maybe. Inevitably things go from bad to worse for the Johnny Cocksures. Still, Adam of the Golden Order is always there to help them get back on their feet.
