When People Let You Down
2026/09/28
In this episode, Bruce reflects on Mark 14:32–42 and Jesus’ experience in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus asked His closest friends to stay awake and pray with Him, but they fell asleep. Bruce reminds us that even people who love us can sometimes let us down. Disappointment is real, but it does not have to decide the kind of person we become. This devotional invites you to bring your disappointment to God honestly, forgive where forgiveness is needed, and remember that your deepest security rests in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are always with you.
When Nobody Notices
2026/09/27
In this episode, Bruce reflects on John 13 and Jesus washing the feet of His disciples. So much of faithful love happens quietly. We serve, help, care, listen, give, and keep going, often without anyone noticing. Bruce reminds us that Jesus knows what it means to serve without applause. Because Jesus knew who He was, He was free to take up the towel and do the humble task. This devotional invites you to serve with love, even when nobody notices, trusting that God sees, God knows, and nothing done in love is wasted.
A Time of Prayer
2026/09/25
In this episode of A Time of Prayer, Rosemary reflects on Psalm 42 and the struggle of feeling low, unsettled, or distant from God. Rosemary reminds us that our feelings are real, but they do not define our faith. Like the psalmist, we can speak to our soul and say, “Hope in God.” This prayer invites you to remember who God is, stand on His goodness, and ask for His grace when your emotions feel heavy. God is here, and you are here with Him.
When the Day Does Not Go to Plan
2026/09/24
In this episode, Bruce reflects on Proverbs 16:1–9 and what it means to trust God when the day does not go to plan. We can make good and wise plans, but life often brings interruptions, changes, delays, and unexpected needs. Bruce reminds us that the spiritual life is not only found in the plan, but sometimes in the interruption. Rather than immediately asking, “Why is this happening?” this devotional invites you to ask, “Lord, how do You want me to respond?” God may be present in the very place you did not expect.
You Do Not Have To Know
2026/09/23
In this episode, Bruce reflects on Ecclesiastes 11:1–6 and the call to sow the seed without knowing exactly what the harvest will look like. We often wait for certainty before we act. We want to know how the conversation, decision, kindness, or step of faith will turn out before we begin. But Ecclesiastes reminds us that if we wait for perfect conditions, we may never sow. Bruce reminds us that some outcomes belong to God. Our responsibility is not to control every harvest, but to faithfully take the next step God has placed before us. This devotional invites you to ask: “Lord, what seed are You asking me to sow today?”
Do the Simple Thing
2026/09/22
In this episode, Bruce reflects on the story of Naaman in 2 Kings 5:1–14. Naaman came to Elisha expecting a dramatic miracle, but God’s instruction was simple: go and wash in the Jordan seven times. At first, Naaman nearly missed his healing because the instruction seemed too ordinary. Bruce reminds us that sometimes our expectations can become an obstacle to what God wants to do in our lives. This devotional invites you to ask, “Lord, what is the simple thing You are asking me to do?” It may not be dramatic, and no one else may see it, but one ordinary act of obedience can become the place where God begins something new.
Do Not Forget To Say Thank You
2026/09/21
You Can Begin Again
2026/09/20
In this episode, Bruce reflects on Luke 22:54–62 and Peter’s denial of Jesus. Peter failed Jesus in the very way Jesus said he would. He denied Him three times and went out weeping bitterly. Yet after the resurrection, Jesus met Peter again, restored him, and entrusted him with a mission. Bruce reminds us that failure is real, but it does not have to be final. Jesus does not speak condemnation over Peter. He restores him and calls him forward. This devotional invites you to bring your failure to Jesus, receive His mercy, and begin again.
A Time of Prayer
2026/09/18
What Is That To You?
2026/09/17
In this episode, Bruce reflects on John 21:15–22 and Jesus’ words to Peter: “What is that to you? Follow me.” After restoring Peter, Jesus gives him a personal call. But Peter turns and asks about someone else’s journey. Bruce reminds us that comparison can quietly steal our peace, gratitude, and joy. God does not ask us to live someone else’s life. He asks us to be faithful to the life He has entrusted to us. This devotional invites you to place other people’s stories into God’s hands and return your attention to the invitation that matters: follow me.
Pray For The Person Who Hurt You
2026/09/16
In this episode, Bruce reflects on Matthew 5:43–48 and Jesus’ call to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Praying for someone who hurt us can be difficult. Bruce reminds us that this does not excuse what happened, remove boundaries, or pretend justice does not matter. It simply means we are no longer allowing bitterness to decide what happens within our hearts. This devotional invites you to begin with a simple prayer: “Lord, I place them into Your hands.” Over time, God can soften what has become hardened, heal what has been wounded, and bring freedom where bitterness once had power.
When Someone Hurts You
2026/09/15
When someone hurts you -  Wednesday 16th  September In this episode, Bruce reflects on Colossians 3:12–15 and Paul’s call to forgive one another as the Lord has forgiven us. Forgiveness can be difficult when the hurt is real. Bruce reminds us that forgiveness does not excuse what happened, erase the pain, immediately restore trust, or remove the need for wise boundaries. Forgiveness is choosing not to let the wound continue to own our heart. This devotional invites you to bring your hurt honestly before God, remember the mercy you have received, and begin again by saying, “Lord, I do not want this hurt to have the final word in me.”
You Don't Know Their Whole Story
2026/09/14
In this episode, Bruce reflects on John 8:2–11 and the woman caught in adultery. The crowd sees the woman through the lens of her failure, but Jesus sees more. He does not pretend sin does not matter, but He also refuses to condemn her. Bruce reminds us that we rarely know another person’s whole story. We can judge quickly, assume motives, and condemn others by a standard we would not want applied to ourselves. This devotional invites us to ask God for a softer heart, a more merciful heart, and the grace to see others more like Jesus sees them.
Do You See the Person?
2026/09/13
In this episode, Bruce reflects on Mark 10:46–52 and the healing of Bartimaeus. Bartimaeus was blind and calling out for mercy, while the crowd tried to silence him. But Jesus stopped, noticed him, and gave him the dignity of speaking for himself. Bruce reminds us that one of the dangers of a busy life is that people can begin to feel like interruptions. We may pass people every day without really seeing them. This devotional invites us to become more like Jesus by noticing the person in front of us, listening well, and responding with compassion and dignity. Today, who is God asking you to see?
A Time of Prayer
2026/09/11
In this episode, Rosemary Downes leads us in a time of prayer for those moments when we do not know the way forward. Reflecting on Hebrews 4:15–16, Rosemary reminds us that Jesus understands our weakness and invites us to approach the throne of grace with boldness. This prayer invites us to be honest with God, surrender our problems, surrender the answer, and trust that He will give mercy, grace, strength, and guidance in our time of need. When you do not know the way, keep turning to Him.
