From Weariness to Expectancy: Trusting God to Move Again
2026/09/28
Have you ever realized that somewhere along the way, you stopped expecting God to move?
You still believe. You still pray. You still read your Bible. You still love God.
But maybe prayer has started to feel more like routine than anticipation.
Maybe you’ve prayed the same prayers for so long that you’ve quietly stopped expecting an answer.
Maybe life has worn you down, and instead of walking with the Holy Spirit, you’ve slipped into simply trying to keep everything going in your own strength.
We understand.
This week on Made to Pray, we’re talking—and mostly praying—about moving from weariness back to expectancy.
In Ephesians 3, Paul prays that believers would be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man. And maybe that kind of strengthening doesn’t always look like becoming tougher, braver, or more capable.
Maybe sometimes it looks like unclenching our fists.
Leaning back.
Trusting God again.
Remembering that we were never meant to fight every current in our own strength.
Lori shares a beautiful story about her grandmother praying through her family name by name—and the legacy of prayer one generation can leave for the generations that follow.
We talk about what happens when disappointment, waiting, self-reliance, and the ordinary routines of life slowly turn down our spiritual expectancy.
And we come back to a simple invitation:
Do it again.
You prayed before? Pray again.
You hoped before? Hope again.
You tried before? Move again.
You haven’t heard God lately? Ask again.
Because the answer to weariness isn’t necessarily trying harder.
It’s allowing the Holy Spirit to strengthen us again.
In this episode, we pray for God to:
• break off weariness and replace it with anticipation• strengthen us by His Spirit• reawaken our hunger for His presence and His Word• teach us to recognize and respond to the Holy Spirit• stir up prayer for our families, communities, and the people He puts on our hearts• renew our trust when circumstances feel uncertain• remind us that unanswered prayer is not unheard prayer• give us courage to begin moving again• awaken fresh testimony, hope, and expectancy
Maybe you’ve been surviving more than expecting lately.
Maybe you’ve grown tired of waiting.
Maybe you’re wondering whether that prayer you’ve prayed again and again is ever going to be answered.
Come pray with us.
Lord, break off the weariness and replace it with anticipation. Strengthen us by Your Spirit. Teach us to trust You again—and help us expect You to move.

Ephesians 3:16–19 — Paul’s prayer that we would be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit in our inner being and rooted and grounded in love.
Psalm 23 — Our Shepherd leads us beside still waters and restores our souls. We don’t have to spend our lives fighting the current alone.
Hebrews 11:1 — Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen.
Romans 8:28 — Even when we cannot see the whole picture, we can trust that God is at work.
Revelation 12:11 — A reminder of the power of testimony and why telling the stories of what God has done matters.

Slow Down and Linger: Making Room to Encounter God
2026/09/21
What if the thing standing between you and a deeper encounter with God isn’t that He’s far away—but that life has trained you to move too quickly?
We live in a culture of hurry. We rush, multitask, fill our calendars, check the box, and move on to the next thing. And sometimes that same hurry follows us right into our time with God.
But encounter is slow and intentional.
This week on Made to Pray, we’re continuing the conversation we began last week about repentance, surrender, and returning to the presence of God. Because sometimes redigging the wells means doing the work of removing what has blocked the flow—and then learning how to stay, wait, and linger again.
We’re sharing some of our own encounters with God—the moments that marked us, changed us, redirected us, and became reminders we could return to later.
Karrilee shares an unforgettable encounter that began with God repeatedly prompting her to read the book of Hosea. What she eventually discovered in Hosea 2:16 shifted the way she understood her relationship with God: He wasn’t simply calling her to obey Him as Master. He was inviting her into deeper intimacy.
We also talk about:
✨ Why encounters with God can become markers we return to throughout our lives✨ What it means to truly know God—not simply know about Him✨ Why we may need to create intentional space to linger in His presence✨ Recognizing and responding to the promptings of the Holy Spirit✨ Remembering the places where God has met us before✨ The beautiful picture of the Shepherd leading His sheep beside still waters✨ Becoming sensitive again to the presence and voice of God✨ Asking God to reawaken our hunger for Him—not simply for what He can do for us
And then, as always, we pray.
We pray for fresh encounters with God. For interruptions from the Holy Spirit. For old testimonies to be remembered and new ones to be written. For hearts that are sensitive to His voice. And for the willingness to slow down long enough to recognize that He has been near all along.
Maybe this week isn’t about adding another thing to your spiritual to-do list.
Maybe it’s simply about making room.
Sit a little longer.
Open your Bible without rushing.
Take yourself on a coffee date with God.
Turn on the worship music that once stirred your heart.
Remember the places where He has met you before.
And pray:
“Lord, make me desperate for You again.”
Because we don’t just need more information about God.
We need His presence.
📖 Scriptures to Spend Time With This Week
Hosea 2:16–20 — God’s invitation from merely relating to Him as Master into deeper covenant relationship and intimacy.
Psalm 23 — The Shepherd who knows His sheep, leads them beside still waters, gives them a place to rest, and restores their souls.
Psalm 24:1–10 — Clean hands, a pure heart, seeking the face of God, and opening the gates for the King of Glory.
Jeremiah 1:5 — “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you”—a reminder that God knew us before our days began.
Matthew 11:28–30 — Jesus’ invitation to come to Him when we are weary and discover that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

The Gift of Repentance: Coming Back to a Clean Heart
2026/09/14
What comes to mind when you hear the word repentance?
For some of us, it may sound heavy—shame, condemnation, or a list of everything we've done wrong.
But what if repentance is actually a gift?
In this episode of Made to Pray, we're talking about the Day of Atonement, the practice of repentance, and the invitation to live with a clean heart and a short account with God.
As Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement—approaches, we're looking at what this ancient biblical observance can remind us about reverence, surrender, holiness, forgiveness, and our need for God. As Christians, we aren't putting ourselves back under the law or suggesting that believers must observe Yom Kippur. Instead, we're remembering that Jesus fulfilled what the Day of Atonement pointed toward: He became the sacrifice, shed His blood for our sins, and made a way for us to draw near to God.
And because Jesus already paid the price, repentance isn't about earning forgiveness.
It's about receiving it.
We talk honestly about how easy it can be to recognize the “big” sins while overlooking the quieter places where we've ignored a prompting, spoken carelessly, held onto an offense, relied on ourselves, or simply gotten a little off course. Sometimes keeping a short account with God means allowing the Holy Spirit to show us the small things before they become bigger things.
And there's an important difference between conviction and condemnation.
Condemnation attacks who you are and pushes you away from God.
Conviction tells you the truth—and leads you toward the forgiveness, restoration, redemption, and security that are already available in Christ.
So we're praying the words of Psalm 51:
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a steadfast spirit within me.
We're asking the Holy Spirit to search us, reveal anything that needs to be laid down, soften our hearts, and draw us closer to the presence of God.
Yom Kippur begins at sundown on September 20, 2026, and ends at nightfall on September 21. If the Lord leads you, consider setting aside intentional time during this season to pray, fast, repent, forgive, and simply meet with Him.
Not because you have to earn your way back to God.
Jesus already made the way.
Come with a humble heart. Lay it down. Receive His forgiveness. And experience again the freedom and joy of drawing near.
Because repentance isn't an invitation to shame.
It's an invitation to come closer.
📖 Scriptures to Spend Time With This Week
Psalm 51:1–12 — A prayer of repentance: “Create in me a clean heart, O God.”
Leviticus 16 — The Day of Atonement and the biblical picture of atonement, cleansing, and sacrifice.
Romans 3:23–26 — We have all fallen short, but we are justified freely by God's grace through the redemption of Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:1–2 — Jesus Christ is the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
2 Chronicles 7:14 — Humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and turn from our ways.
The prayer at the end of this episode brings several of these truths together beautifully: asking for clean hands and a pure heart, receiving forgiveness, and choosing to live surrendered and ready to partner with what God is doing.

When You're Weary: Finding Rest in the Presence of God
2026/09/07
🎙️ When You're Weary: Finding Rest in the Presence of God
What do you do when you're tired—not just physically tired, but weary from carrying the weight of everything happening around you?
Sometimes the pressure seems to come from every direction. There are circumstances we can't change, people we can't fix, questions we can't answer, and situations we've prayed about for so long that we're simply tired.
In this episode of Made to Pray, we're talking and praying about what it means to stop striving and find our refuge in the presence of God.
We pray through the promise of Psalm 91 and ask the Holy Spirit to teach us how to dwell under the shadow of the Almighty—not rushing in and out of God's presence, but learning to stay, rest, listen, and receive what we need for today.
We also pray about surrender, repentance, spiritual weariness, and allowing God to strip away the clutter, confusion, and heaviness we've picked up along the way. Instead of carrying it all with us, we're invited to come through the door, lay it down at Jesus' feet, and let Him refresh and restore us.
And then, in the middle of prayer, God gives Karrilee a beautiful picture.
A hammock.
In her familiar secret place with Jesus—beside a stream, surrounded by green pasture and trees—she sees a hammock and senses Jesus inviting her to lie down.
“I am the hammock. You can lean back and rest in Me and trust that I will hold you.”
Weightless and free—but still tethered.
What a picture of what it means to rest in God.
Maybe that's what your soul needs right now, too.
Not another answer.
Not another strategy.
Not another thing to fix.
Maybe you need to remember that you are being held.
Toward the end of our prayer, we're reminded of Jesus speaking to the wind and waves:
“Peace, be still.”
Sometimes He calms the storm around us. And sometimes the circumstances are still swirling, but He gives us supernatural peace right there in the middle of them. Either way, the One who commands the wind and waves is still with us in the boat.
If you're weary today, come pray with us.
Let's step into His presence.
Let's lay down what we've been carrying.
Let's remember who God is.
And let's allow Him to remind us:
You don't have to hold everything together. You can rest in the One who is holding you. 💜
📖 Scriptures to Spend Time With This Week
Psalm 91 — Dwelling in the secret place; God as our refuge and fortress Psalm 23 — Green pastures, still waters, restoration, and walking through the valley of the shadow of death Mark 4:35–41 — Jesus calms the storm: “Peace, be still.” Galatians 6:9 — Do not grow weary in doing good

Choosing to Trust God When You Don't Know What Comes Next
2026/08/31
What do you do when you've prayed, believed, waited—and you still don't know what comes next?
Sometimes trusting God feels natural. Other times, it's a choice we have to make again and again, especially when circumstances haven't changed and the answers we've been praying for haven't come yet.
In this episode of Made to Pray, we're talking—and mostly praying—about what it looks like to trust God in those in-between seasons.
When you've done what you know to do, sometimes the next step is simply to stand firm, stay close to God, and remember who He is.
We pray about weariness, surrender, the power of agreement, and learning to rely on the Holy Spirit instead of trying to control every outcome ourselves. We ask God to help us recognize His presence in our everyday lives, hear His voice more clearly, and trust His leading even when we can't see the whole plan.
Because we don't need all the answers.
We don't need a 10-step plan.
We don't even need to know how it's going to turn out.
We can choose to trust God because He is trustworthy.
We also pray over our homes, families, schools, communities, minds, relationships, and the places where we've been believing God for breakthrough. We come into agreement that our prayers are not in vain, God is near, and there is power in the name of Jesus.
And if what you're carrying has simply become too heavy, we pray for the grace to lay it all down at the feet of Jesus—our cares, fears, worries, questions, and need to control—and receive His peace in exchange.
Toward the end of the episode, we return to the promises of Scripture in Psalm 37 and encourage you to find a passage of your own this week that reminds you of God's faithfulness and helps you continue putting your trust in Him.
If trusting God feels difficult right now, you don't have to pretend that it doesn't.
Tell Him.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
Remember where God has been faithful before.
And then choose again:
“God, I don't know what comes next—but I trust You.”
Come pray with us. 💜

Holding Grief and Joy: Learning to Live With Loss
2026/08/24
What does it look like to keep living when someone—or something—you love is no longer there?
Grief doesn't follow a straight line. It doesn't simply disappear with time, and missing someone doesn't mean you're lacking faith.
In this episode of Made to Pray, Karrilee revisits grief six months after the loss of her sister, sharing honestly about what she's learning in the space between deep loss and continuing to live the life God has given her.
We talk about giving ourselves permission to feel what we're feeling, the very real effects grief can have on our minds and bodies, the importance of community and support, and what it means to trust God when the outcome of our prayers wasn't what we hoped for.
We also talk about the hope of heaven, the comfort of the Holy Spirit, and learning to hold grief and joy at the same time—not pretending the loss doesn't hurt, but not believing that experiencing joy again somehow betrays what or who we've lost.
And then, as always, we pray.
We pray for those who are grieving a loved one, but also for those experiencing other kinds of loss—the loss of a friendship, a job, a dream, a career, an opportunity, or a life that didn't turn out the way they expected.
We ask the Holy Spirit to draw near to the brokenhearted, bring comfort where there are no words, remind us that we are never alone, and begin to restore hope and joy in the places that feel empty.
Because grief and faith can coexist.
Grief and joy can coexist.
You can miss someone deeply and still trust God.
And you can allow yourself to live fully in the days you've been given while carrying love—and loss—with you.
If you're grieving today, we hope you'll come pray with us.

Re-Dig the Wells: It's Time to Say Yes Again
2026/08/17
Have you ever wondered if you missed your moment—or if something God once placed on your heart was meant for another season?
Maybe you've felt weary, sidelined, uncertain, or disconnected from giftings and dreams that once felt very clear. Maybe you've wondered whether it's too late to pick them back up.
In this episode of Made to Pray, we're talking and praying about what it looks like to re-dig the wells—to return to the places where we last felt close to God, remember what He has spoken, and allow the Holy Spirit to awaken what may have grown quiet or become blocked along the way.
We also share portions of recent prophetic words that echo themes we've been praying into throughout this season: renewed faith, fresh fire, breakthrough, restoration, clarity, and an awakening of the people of God.
But this isn't a call to strive harder or manufacture something supernatural on our own.
It's an invitation to listen again.
To ask for the next right step.
To pick back up what God is highlighting.
To obey when He speaks.
And to say, “Yes, Lord. Here I am. Send me.”
Together, we pray that the Holy Spirit would stir up the call and giftings God has placed within us, restore boldness where weariness has taken hold, tune our hearts to His voice, and give us the faith and obedience to follow wherever He leads.
Maybe the call hasn't changed.
Maybe it's time to re-dig the wells.
Maybe it's time to say yes again.

Expecting God Again: Finding His Presence in the Ordinary
2026/08/10
What happens when you still believe God can do anything—but you've been waiting so long that you've stopped expecting Him to?
Long seasons of waiting can quietly wear down our anticipation. We've prayed. We've believed. We've hoped. And sometimes the answers haven't come—or haven't looked anything like what we thought they would.
In this episode of Made to Pray, Karrilee and Lori have an honest conversation about weariness, faith, mercy, and learning to expect God again.
What if encountering Him doesn't always begin with a dramatic breakthrough? What if He wants to remind us of His nearness right in the middle of our ordinary lives—in the laundry, the dishes, the caregiving, the conversation with a friend, the Scripture that suddenly comes alive, or the small answer to a prayer we thought He might have forgotten?
Together, we pray for renewed anticipation: that God would make Himself known in both the expected and unexpected places, remind us that He sees and hears us, and breathe fresh hope into weary faith.
We also pray for those walking through loss and hardship, including communities affected by devastating wildfires, and for the kind of genuine, covenant community that surrounds one another through both mourning and rejoicing.
If you've been in a long season of waiting, if your faith feels more tired than expectant, or if you simply need to be reminded that God is still near, we hope you'll pray with us.
Maybe today's prayer is simply:
“Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief. Help me hope again.”
Because even mustard-seed faith is still faith—and God is not overwhelmed, surprised, or late.

Getting to Know the Holy Spirit: Learning to Walk With Him Every Day
2026/08/03
What if the Holy Spirit isn't someone we're meant to wonder about—but someone we're meant to know personally?
In this week's episode of Made to Pray, we continue our conversation about the Holy Spirit and why so many believers long for a deeper relationship with Him.
Together, we explore what it means to intentionally invite Holy Spirit into our everyday lives, why stillness matters, how we begin recognizing His voice, and how spending time in God's Word helps us grow in confidence and discernment.
We also discuss the difference between knowing about the Holy Spirit and truly walking with Him as our Helper, Counselor, and Guide.
If you've ever wondered how to hear God's voice more clearly, grow in your relationship with Him, or make room for the Holy Spirit in your daily life, we pray this conversation encourages you.
The episode concludes with an extended prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to renew our minds, strengthen our faith, awaken spiritual hunger, and help us faithfully partner with Him in the ordinary moments of everyday life. Mentioned in This Episode:

How to Make Room for the Holy Spirit in Your Everyday Life
2026/07/27
How to Make Room for the Holy Spirit in Your Everyday LifeLearning to Hear God's Voice and Experience Daily Spiritual Transformation
What if spiritual transformation isn't about trying harder—but about making more room for the Holy Spirit?
In this week's episode of Made to Pray, we begin by reflecting on last week's journaling challenge and the surprising emotional healing that can come from honestly processing our thoughts before God. From there, the conversation naturally turns to something even deeper: our daily relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Together, we explore questions like:
• Why do so many believers feel disconnected from the Holy Spirit? • What does it really mean to hear God's voice? • How does the Holy Spirit guide, comfort, convict, and transform us? • What might the next move of God look like—and where does it begin?
We believe revival doesn't start somewhere "out there." It begins in our own hearts as we make room for the Holy Spirit to work in us every single day.
If you've been longing to grow closer to God, hear His voice more clearly, or experience a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, we pray this conversation encourages you.
At the end of the episode, join us as we spend extended time praying for fresh hunger, renewed sensitivity to God's voice, and the courage to invite the Holy Spirit into every area of our lives.

What if one of the greatest tools God could use to bring healing into your life is as simple as a pen, a piece of paper, and twenty honest minutes?
In this episode of Made to Pray, Lori and Karrilee explore the powerful connection between prayer, journaling, and emotional healing. Inspired by a recent post about research on expressive writing —and through their own personal experiences with grief, trauma, and hearing God's voice—they discuss how putting words on paper can help us process what we've been carrying and create space for God to meet us in deeper ways.
