Run for Orla: Love, Loss & Running for a Cause with Eamon & Una Shealy - Eat Sleep Run Repeat
2026/09/07
This is a very special episode of Eat Sleep Run Repeat. We’re joined by Eamon and Una Shealy to talk about Run for Orla, an event created in memory of their beautiful young daughter, Orla, who sadly lost her battle with cancer. This is an incredibly raw and emotional conversation. You can hear the heartbreak in Eamon and Una’s voices as they talk about Orla, their family, the devastating impact of losing a child, and how they’ve found a way to keep her memory alive through running. Run for Orla is about bringing the running community together to remember Orla and, most importantly, to raise money for Camp Quality, helping support children facing cancer and their families. Their message is simple: they want as many runners as possible to get involved. So if you run, walk, jog, or simply want to support an incredible cause, please consider registering for Run for Orla. Every runner helps create more awareness, more support and more funds for families going through what Eamon and Una have experienced. Run for Orla. Run for Orla’s memory. Run for families affected by cancer. Please listen, share this episode with your running friends and help us get the word out. Register. Run. Remember. *Run For Órla website:* https://www.runfororla.com https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61592264279194 https://www.facebook.com/reel/1410208201015775 *Run For Órla is on Sunday, 15 November 2026 at Scarborough Beach Park*, raising funds for Camp Quality and bringing our community together in Órla’s memory. #RunForOrla #EatSleepRunRepeat #CampQuality #RunningCommunity #RunForACause #CancerSupport Hosted on Acast. Sydney Marathon, A New Half Marathon World Record & Ingebrigtsen Is BACK! - Eat Sleep Run Repeat
2026/08/25
The biggest week in Australian distance running is almost here — and the Sydney Marathon is loaded! In this episode of Eat Sleep Run Repeat, we look ahead to one of the deepest marathon fields ever assembled in Australia, with reigning world champions, major marathon winners and some seriously fast Australians lining up in Sydney on Sunday. The Sydney Marathon elite fields are stacked, with Sisay Lemma, Alphonce Simbu, Timothy Kiplagat and defending champion Hailemaryam Kiros among the men’s contenders. The women’s race is just as strong, headed by reigning world and Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir. With 25 men having run under 2:10 and three having broken 2:03, could we see the Sydney course record smashed? (Australian Athletics |) We also get into the Australian Cross Country Championships and the latest action from the Aussie running scene. And then there’s a HUGE story from the roads — Yomif Kejelcha has reclaimed the men’s half marathon world record, running an astonishing 56:51 in Buenos Aires. That takes the record back from Jacob Kiplimo and gives us another chapter in one of the most ridiculous periods of distance running we’ve ever seen. (Reuters) We look ahead to the World Road Running Championships, with the world’s best road runners set to go head-to-head, and talk about what could be another massive period for Australian distance running. And finally… Jakob Ingebrigtsen is back! The rivalry with Josh Kerr is set to reignite at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, with Kerr, Ingebrigtsen, Cole Hocker and world champion Isaac Nader among the stars expected to line up over 1500m. After everything that has happened between Kerr and Ingebrigtsen, this one could be spicy. (Reuters) In this episode: • Sydney Marathon 2026 preview • The insane Sydney elite fields • Can the Sydney course record be broken? • Australian Marathon Championships • Australian Cross Country Championships • The new men’s half marathon world record — 56:51! • World Road Running Championships preview • Jakob Ingebrigtsen returns • Josh Kerr vs Ingebrigtsen… round whatever we’re up to! • The latest news from Australian and international distance running Eat Sleep Run Repeat — your running podcast for the latest news, results, controversy, big performances and everything happening in the world of running. #Running #SydneyMarathon #EatSleepRunRepeat #DistanceRunning #Marathon #HalfMarathon #Ingebrigtsen #JoshKerr #AustralianRunning Hosted on Acast.
