There was a lot going on in the world of golf this week. The Dunhill Links was played in Scotland on a trio of the best golf courses in the world and the PGA Tour fall series went west to Utah and Black Desert. Adrian Meronk won the Dunhill Links title in Scotland. Played at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and St. Andrews, the Dunhill Links is an annual pro-am event that features a great field. Meronk outlasted the likes of Casey Jarvis, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick and Brooks Koepka for the title. On the PGA Tour, Austin Smotherman won the Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert. For Smotherman it was his first PGA Tour title in 100 starts. One big takeaway was the play of the young Americans in the field. Ben James, Luke Clanton, David Ford and others had top 10 finishes at the event. All of this and more on this week's episode of the Break80 Podcast. Manuel Elvira had a meltdown on the 18th hole this week like we haven't seen in a while at Wentworth for the DP World Tour's PGA Championship. He entered the final hole tied for the lead, but a disastrous double bogey allowed JJ Spaun to claim the victory. The victory for Spaun, who was left off the Presidents Cup team threw this weeks Presidents Cup into the forefront in golf. Spaun's comments about captain Brant Snedeker and not getting picked raised some eyebrows. Another captain's pick won this week as Jacob Bridgeman won the Biltmore Championship in Asheville, North Carolina. Bridgeman hopes to roll the hot play into this week's Presidents Cup. We will preview the Presidents Cup and make some picks for it on this episode of the Break80 Podcast. Subscribe to the Break80 Podcast on Apple, Spotify and YouTube for weekly golf content. The pod headed back to Landmand for the first time since we were there before its opening. We also got a chance to play the newest private club in Sioux Falls, Mapleton Golf Club and we were not disappointed. In this episode, Break80 sits down with South African golf star Christiaan Bezuidenhout for a wide-ranging conversation about the path that took him from a small golf course in Delmas, Mpumalanga, to the biggest stages in professional golf. Christiaan opens up about picking up the game at age four, his rise through South Africa's amateur and Sunshine Tour ranks, and the pivotal years he spent as part of the Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation, where a young Ernie Els played mentor, coach, and financial backer to the future PGA Tour pro. We talk about what it meant to learn the game under "The Big Easy," how that relationship shaped his career, and what it was like to later stand alongside Els on the International Team at the Presidents Cup. From there, we dig into his current life on the PGA Tour — his approach to competing week to week against the world's best, standout performances at the majors, and what's next on his goals list. Christiaan also shares the deeply personal side of his story: his lifelong experience with stuttering, and his partnership as an ambassador for the Arthur M.
