That Asmir Begovic Episode: How A Refugee From Bosnia Became A Premier League CHAMPION! | EP. 426
2026/09/30
On this week’s episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids and Chris are joined by a veteran goalkeeper who has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina, playing for clubs such as Stoke City, Chelsea, and Everton… it’s Asmir Begović, and he’s here for a proper trip down memory lane. (Also - we’d like to apologise for the scaffolding racket outside during the filming of this episode… this should be the last week of building works) Asmir opens up about his incredible journey from being born in Bosnia during the conflict, fleeing the country with his family and eventually settling in Canada, to making it over to England as a teenager and beginning his professional football career at Portsmouth. Asmir looks back on his time at Pompey, including some brilliant stories from competing with David James, eventually breaking into the first team. He also reveals what it was like working under Tony Pulis at Stoke, the strict rules in that dressing room, the incredible team spirit they developed and how Crouchy’s arrival helped change the club. The lads also revisit Asmir’s famous long-range Premier League goal, which remains one of the most memorable goals ever scored by a goalkeeper, before getting into his move to Chelsea, his relationship with José Mourinho and what it was like competing with Thibaut Courtois. There’s plenty more along the way, from Asmir’s experiences of football in Canada and his journey through the English leagues to stories from some of the biggest dressing rooms and managers he encountered throughout his career. That Tom Fordyce Episode! - From Memory Lane To The World Cup | EP. 425
2026/09/23
On this week’s episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids, and Chris are reunited with a very special guest and original podcast legend, Tom Fordyce, for a proper trip down memory lane! Tom joins the boys to reflect on the good old days, the origins of the pod, and the incredible journey from the very first recording to where things are today. The lads dive straight into some classic tournament nostalgia, reminiscing about the madness, the atmosphere, and the unforgettable moments from the World Cup. Tom and Pete share behind-the-scenes stories, hilarious tour tales, and look back at the chaos that made those early days of the podcast so iconic. Of course, it wouldn't be a proper reunion without getting stuck into the legendary folklore of the show—including the story behind Chumbawamba, classic catchphrases, and the listener messages that shaped the community. There are plenty of laughs, classic anecdotes, and top-tier banter as the lads catch up on everything they’ve missed. As always, the boys also get into the latest football talking points, dressing room antics, and the usual listener emails and dilemmas. Tom Davis: “I Was Sh!t At Everything!” – Scaffolding To Stand-Up & The Reluctant Vampire | EP. 424
2026/09/16
On this week’s episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids, and Chris are joined by comedian Tom Davis for a proper chat about football, comedy, West Ham and his new show, The Reluctant Vampire. Tom talks about his journey from working on building sites to becoming a successful comedian, actor and writer, including the moment Mickey Flanagan convinced him to give stand-up a go and what it was really like getting on stage for the first time at 32.  The lads also get stuck into Tom’s brilliant Murder in Successville, hearing about the chaos of improvising with celebrities and footballers, as well as the very different realities of being funny on a podcast and actually standing in front of a room full of people waiting for you to make them laugh. Football is never far away, with Tom opening up about his love for West Ham, his memories of Upton Park and why he feels the club has lost some of its identity. We chat about the changing relationship between clubs and supporters, the impact of social media, working-class fans, Declan Rice, Mark Noble and Jarrod Bowen, and whether West Ham can bounce straight back to the Premier League. And finally, it’s time for Chris Stark’s Paddy Power forfeit. After losing the podcast’s score prediction league, Chris has to perform stand-up for the first time ever — at a proper comedy club, in front of hundreds of people, with Andrew Mensch and the lads helping him prepare. There are nerves, emergency jokes, an outrageous ring walk, a very personal check-up story… As the Crouchy puts it: “that takes some bollocks or a bollock.” Chumbawamba - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  00:00 - The lads tease Chris Stark’s upcoming forfeit 05:00 - Everton’s £25,000 “Legends VIP” experience 08:30 - Who should the podcast send to Everton? 10:57 - Tom Davis joins the podcast 11:01 - Tom Davis, Chris Stark and the great barbecue war 14:25 - Tom’s stand-up tour and his new love of golf 16:21 - The madness of Murder in Successville 18:21 - Tom’s funniest celebrity moments from the show 20:11 - How Mickey Flanagan inspired Tom to do stand-up 21:00 - Tom’s first Peter Crouch joke 22:18 - Why being funny on a podcast doesn’t make you a stand-up 28:26 - Tom’s brutal introduction to life on the building sites 29:20 - Tom’s prank calls and being “useless” at scaffolding 30:21 - How Tom became obsessed with West Ham 32:06 - Why West Ham have lost their identity 34:17 - “Working-class people have been strangled out” of football 36:06 - Social media and football fans demanding answers 38:12 - Can West Ham romp the Championship? 40:15 - What makes a genuinely great football squad 41:10 - Tom’s favourite West Ham era and Upton Park memories 42:10 - Declan Rice, Mark Noble and West Ham’s talismanic players 44:05 - Why Jarrod Bowen staying could make him a West Ham legend 47:05 - Tom on West Ham’s uncertain future 48:18 - Tom’s thoughts on Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate 50:32 - Why Southgate changed England’s relationship with the fans 01:00:45 - Tom’s bizarre FIFA obsession led him to coaching 01:02:17 - When Tom’s wife caught him getting FIFA lessons 01:03:58 - Tom falls back into his gaming addiction 01:04:27 - Tom says goodbye 01:05:24 - The lads reveal how Chris’ forfeit went 01:08:00 - The coffee name game and football prediction chat 01:13:57 - The lads make their latest score predictions 01:15:05 - Chris’s forfeit mini-doc begins - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  Join our Patreon Community - https://www.patreon.com/cw/ThatPeterCrouchPodcast Shoutout to @‌rodemic, now powering the audio for the pod! - https://brandstore.rode.com/crouchpod For more Peter Crouch:  Twitter - https://twitter.com/petercrouch  Therapy Crouch - https://www.youtube.com/@thetherapycrouch  For more Chris Stark  Twitter - https://twitter.com/Chris_Stark Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/chrisstark/ For more Steve Sidwell  Twitter - https://twitter.com/sjsidwell  Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/stevesidwell14  #PeterCrouch #ThatPeterCrouchPodcast Hosted on Acast. “It Will Come Good!” Will Spurs Turn It Around? & Why Arsenal Win The League By 15 Points! | EP. 423
2026/09/09
On this week’s episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids, and Chris are back with another chaotic round-up of football, forfeits, predictions and some genuinely bizarre stories from the weekend. The lads kick things off by finally revealing more about Chris’ comedy club forfeit, including the nerves before he took to the stage and the incredible reaction from an unsuspecting fan who realised exactly why Chris was there. The conversation then takes an unexpected turn as the boys discuss the strange habit of giving fake names when ordering coffee — with one particular Brazilian footballer-themed idea quickly becoming a potential global game. We also get into the weekend’s football, including Arsenal’s impressive win over Chelsea and whether they could really run away with the Premier League. The lads debate Arsenal’s mentality, their defensive strength and the impact of their new signings, before discussing the controversial incident involving Morgan Rogers and Declan Rice. Elsewhere, Jamie Vardy’s move to Burnley gets a mention, the boys react to Alex Gilbert’s brilliant Inbetweeners-inspired announcement video, and there’s plenty of love for Hull Marina — perhaps the next great summer destination?! The boys also debate whether Spurs can finally turn things around, before reading some brilliant Why The Football Not? submissions, including one fan who watched his team win promotion from a tree and another who travelled from Dublin to Liverpool on a free ticket with no money, hotel or plan. And then things take a very unexpected turn when Pete’s podiatrist arrives mid-recording to deal with his troublesome footballer’s toenails. The lads investigate Pete’s bizarre feet, discuss whether they’re a footballer thing, and somehow turn the whole situation into one of the strangest moments of the episode. Another week, another set of disasters. Enjoy! Stuart Pearce: How PSYCHO Went From Electrician to England Legend & Brian Clough Stories! | EP. 422
2026/09/02
On this week’s episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids and Chris are joined by England, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City legend Stuart Pearce — aka Psycho — for a proper trip down memory lane. Stuart opens up about his remarkable journey from playing non-league football and working as an electrician to becoming a professional footballer, England international and one of the most recognisable defenders of his generation. He tells the story of how a chance encounter with Brian Clough eventually led to his move to Nottingham Forest, and how the famous “Psycho” nickname came about. The lads also get into Stuart’s England career, including the highs and lows of Italia ’90 and Euro ’96, his infamous penalty miss against Germany, and the emotional redemption of scoring from the spot against Spain six years later. Stuart explains why the experience of missing that penalty stayed with him — and how it ultimately changed the way he approached pressure, failure and success. Away from football, there are some brilliant Stuart Pearce stories too, from his love of punk music and a particularly surreal night at a gig in Moscow, to travelling to North Korea and his obsession with seeing as much of the world as possible. And, of course, there’s plenty of classic Crouch Podcast chat along the way — including hedge diving, football stickers, Stuart’s legendary toughness and some seriously good dressing-room and Cloughy stories. A fascinating conversation with one of English football’s great characters. The Zante Goalkeeper Calls Out Crouchy, Opening Day Mauling & The £2.5m Maradona Ball... | EP. 421
2026/08/26
On this week’s episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids and Chris are back talking all things GW1 as the Premier League gets properly underway. Pete kicks things off by summarising his attendance at the Spurs v Brentford game, before the lads get sidetracked by the now-infamous Zante goalkeeper — who has apparently heard about the podcast and has sent a rather aggressive message Pete’s way! Naturally, the boys decide there’s only one thing to do… head to Zante and take him on themselves. The lads then get into the opening weekend of the Premier League, including the strange situation around Ollie Watkins at Aston Villa, with Sids sharing his own experience of knowing he was leaving Reading for Chelsea but continuing to play and train as normal. The conversation turns to whether players should ever take themselves out of the firing line when a transfer is on the cards, and how much physicality, hunger and desire now matter in the Premier League. Chris then tackles his own disastrous comedy attempts ahead of his forfeit, some questionable listener jokes, and the increasingly surreal experience of being recognised in public — including a very awkward airport encounter. Elsewhere, the lads debate who has the strangest pre-match traditions, discuss Peter’s latest Paddy Power advert, and wonder which piece of football memorabilia could possibly beat Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ ball. VIRAL TikTok Singer Plays That Djed Spence Song, Season Begins & Community Shield DISMAY?! | EP. 420
2026/08/20
On this week’s episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids, and Chris express their absolute dismay towards the Community Shield’s double booking, and ask whether Manchester City’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal is anything to worry about for Pep’s replacement Enzo Maresca. The Gunners’ strong start has the lads wondering if they could run away with a consecutive Premier League title, and we also get into the Championship - with Millwall backed to make a serious push for the playoffs and plenty of love for the players expected to light up the season. Sids signs off from the Maldives before the lads are joined by singer-songwriter Ben Cipolla, whose football-inspired songs have taken social media by storm. Ben explains how a joke about Brighton’s Deniz Undav turned into a growing catalogue of football songs, before revealing how his Djed Spence song exploded after an appearance on 606. He also talks about becoming a full-time musician, his ambitions to take the football songs even further, and Chris reveals his dream of Ben reaching the Christmas Number One spot. And if that wasn’t enough, Ben brings along some homemade dips from his mate Paddy (in classic random pod fashion), performs his brilliant football songs live in the studio, and then unveils an EXCLUSIVE new song written especially for the podcast – ‘Back Stronger’. Our 26/27 Predictions: Best Signings, Breakout stars & Can Man United WIN the Premier League?! | EP. 419
2026/08/12
On this week’s episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids, and Chris are back in person and getting stuck into one of the best parts of pre-season… making wildly confident predictions that will definitely come back to haunt them by May. The lads run through their 26/27 season predictions, including who they think will lift the Premier League trophy, who makes the top four, who takes the Golden Boot, Golden Glove, which big-money signing could flop, and which players are set for a breakout season. There are some big calls too, with Arsenal backed by some of the lads, Manchester United tipped as genuine title challengers, and Liverpool surprisingly left out of one predicted top four. We also get into the summer transfer madness, including Morgan Rogers’ huge £117m move to Chelsea, Elliot Anderson’s £116m switch, West Ham’s retention of Jarrod Bowen and Spurs bringing in Sandro Tonali. The lads debate whether £100m has effectively become the new normal in football, and why the modern game seems to be producing fewer kids who actually want to grow up and be strikers. The Future Of The Pod!! New Guests, New Games & BIG Plans For This Season | EP. 418
2026/08/05
On this week's episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Chris, and Sids return for a pre-season catch-up as they look ahead to another year of football, guests, and complete podcast chaos. Fresh from a summer break, the lads swap stories from their latest adventures, including Pete's new obsession with barbecuing, why outdoor kitchens are harder to use than they look, and the ambitious plans for a 24-hour charity livestream that could become one of the biggest things TPCP has ever attempted. With the new football season just around the corner, the boys turn the episode over to you, reading through hundreds of listener suggestions for how the podcast could evolve. From crossover episodes and live tours to new weekly games, Sunday League commentary, bowling competitions and even a wives takeover, no idea is too ridiculous to escape discussion. Along the way they somehow find themselves defending the reputation of every bloke called Carl, pitching LeBron James as a regular feature, and putting Barack Obama on the ever-growing guest wishlist. The lads also reflect on just how far the podcast has come over the past decade, from recording in pubs to interviewing Oscar winners, future kings and football's biggest names, while looking ahead to another season packed with huge guests, Premier League chat, and plenty of the nonsense you've come to expect. As always, let us know your favourite ideas in the comments below and tell us which new feature you'd love to hear on TPCP this season. That Semi-Final Episode: Gary Neville on Tuchel’s tactics & England’s cruel Argentina exit I Ep. 415
2026/07/17
On this episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete and Sids record from New York following England's heartbreaking World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina, reflecting on an emotional night that saw Thomas Tuchel's side come agonisingly close to reaching a World Cup final. The lads discuss the incredible atmosphere surrounding the tournament, the unique experience of covering football across America, and why this World Cup has delivered some of the most memorable stadiums and fan experiences they've ever witnessed. The boys break down exactly where England's semi-final slipped away, debating whether sitting too deep ultimately cost them, the tactical decisions made in the closing stages, and whether the substitutions should have been more attacking. They discuss Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham's performances, Declan Rice's importance to the side, the emergence of Jed Spence and Dan Burn, and whether this England squad should ultimately be remembered as a success despite the painful exit. Former England defender Gary Neville then joins the pod for an honest and emotional reaction to England's defeat. Gary explains what it feels like to be knocked out of a major tournament, why players carry those moments for the rest of their lives, and analyses Thomas Tuchel's biggest decisions. He also discusses England's defensive approach, whether the criticism of Tuchel is justified, the positives to take from the tournament, and why this World Cup has been one of the best football spectacles in recent memory. There's also another ridiculous challenge as the boys swap footballs for darts with Morgan Rogers. Meanwhile Chris Stark dials in a special interview with the Blossoms as they discuss their new music and thoughts on the world cup so far. Wrapping up with the latest Paddy Power Predictions League ahead of the World Cup Final, Tom's predictions from afar, and plenty of classic TPCP chaos—including power cuts, questionable New York backdrops and the usual nonsense. 2026/07/10
On this episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids and Tom are given unprecedented access inside England's World Cup training camp as they go behind the scenes with Thomas Tuchel's squad ahead of a huge quarter-final against Norway. After England's unforgettable victory over Mexico, the lads witness first-hand the togetherness that's driving this squad, with Peter receiving an emotional England Legacy Cap presented by Harry Kane in front of the entire team. Pete also chats with Harry Kane to relive the incredible night at the Azteca, discussing the celebrations, the emotional Wonderwall moments with England fans, the challenges of tournament life, and why this squad feels different to any England team before it.
