146. Learning to Receive | From Striving to Trust
2026/10/25
When you’re used to being the one everyone depends on, what does it look like to let the Father care for you? Friend, you spend your days noticing needs, answering questions, adjusting plans, and encouraging others. But you are also someone the Father loves. You get to receive, too. In this episode of The Connected Educator: Abiding in Jesus, Teaching from His Victory, we’re slowing down with Scripture to explore what it means to approach God as His child—and receive His care in the middle of your teaching life. Last week, we brought Jesus what we were carrying. This week, we’re making room to receive. In this episode, we explore: Entering your school day secure in belonging to the Father. Bringing Him your ordinary needs for wisdom, courage, and encouragement. Recognizing how receiving care can include accepting help from others. Moving from trying to supply everything yourself toward trusting His goodness. Remaining connected to Jesus as you learn, serve, and take your next faithful step. You’ll also have space for a brief guided reflection to bring one specific need to the Father and consider what receiving His care could look like this week. A simple practice for your week Before opening your classroom door—or when you notice yourself trying to manage everything alone—pause and pray: “Father, I belong to You. Help me receive Your care today.” Then consider: “What would it look like to trust Your care for me in this one part of my school day?” Perhaps there is help to accept, a request to make, or a truth from Scripture to carry into a difficult conversation. 145. I Have to Hold It All Together | An Invitation to Release
2026/10/18
What are you carrying alone that Jesus is inviting you to entrust to Him? Friend, sometimes the weight of teaching follows us home. A conversation keeps replaying. Feedback becomes a question about our worth. Preparing for tomorrow turns into trying to prove we’re enough. In this episode of The Connected Educator: Abiding in Jesus, Teaching from His Victory, I share a painful experience from my recent practicum—and how Jesus met me through encouragement, honest conversation, and support as I worked through the hurt. Together, we’ll slow down with Scripture and explore Jesus’ invitation to bring Him what we’re carrying, receive His care, and take our next faithful step with Him. In this episode, we explore: Recognizing when a difficult experience becomes a damaging conclusion about who you are. Receiving Jesus’ rest while continuing to learn, practice, and grow. Releasing hurt and walking through forgiveness, sometimes one layer at a time. Discerning your responsibilities and entrusting unfinished outcomes to Jesus. Receiving practical support and setting boundaries as you depend on Him. You’ll also have space for a guided reflection to bring one specific concern to Jesus and consider what is yours to do—and what you can entrust to His care. A simple practice for your week At the end of one school day, take a few minutes with Jesus. Name what needs follow-up, then name what you cannot control. You might pray: “Jesus, help me do my part with You. I entrust these people and the unfinished outcomes to Your care. Help me receive Your care for me tonight.” Stay connected—and save December 1 For encouragement as you learn to release pressure and receive from Jesus, visit kingdomeducators.com and join my mailing list. And mark your calendar for our online Winter ReCONNECT Experience on Tuesday, December 1, 2026, from 6–7:30 p.m. Central! We’ll practice what we’re exploring this season: bringing Jesus what we’re carrying, receiving His truth and care, and learning to teach connected in our actual school lives. It’s an opportunity to slow down with Him before the semester ends and receive direction for your next faithful steps. Join the mailing list so you receive registration details and don’t miss what’s coming. I would love for you to be part of this time together! Scriptures explored Matthew 11:28–30 — Come to Jesus, learn from Him, and receive rest for your soul. 1 Peter 5:7 — Entrust your cares to Him because He cares for you. Ephesians 2:5–6 — Remember that you are made alive, raised, and seated with Christ by grace. John 15:5 — Remain connected to Jesus, your Source of life and fruitfulness. Your assignment matters. Your heart matters, too. Stay connected to Jesus. You don’t have to hold it all together.
144. What Abiding Looks Like in a Real Classroom
2026/10/11
What does staying connected to Jesus actually look like when students need you and your plans unravel? Friend, you may love Jesus’ invitation to abide in Him—and still wonder what that looks like when a student responds sharply, your lesson goes sideways, or you’ve already said something you regret. In this episode of The Connected Educator: Abiding in Jesus, Teaching from His Victory, we bring abiding into three everyday classroom moments and explore practical ways to receive His wisdom, remember what is true, and respond with Him. We’ll explore: Separating what actually happened from the story you’re telling yourself. Responding to challenging behavior with clarity, love, and appropriate boundaries. Asking for wisdom when your plans change. Returning to Jesus after a mistake and taking steps to repair. Recognizing fruit in your everyday responses—even when a situation is still unfolding. You’ll also have space for guided reflection and prayer to bring one real classroom situation to Jesus and consider your next faithful step. A simple practice for your week Pause. Remember. Respond. Pause to notice what is happening within you, when the situation allows. Remember who Jesus is, that you belong to Him, and what His Word makes clear. Respond with one faithful action. Ask: What would a wise and loving response look like? What support do I need? What is one step I can take? At the end of the day, reflect with Jesus: Where did I receive Your help, and what can I learn for tomorrow? Stay connected—and save December 1 For practical encouragement as you learn to teach connected, visit kingdomeducators.com and join my email list. And mark your calendar for Tuesday, December 1, from 6–7:30 p.m. Central. I’m preparing something super special—a live experience to help us put this season’s teaching into practice. Join the list so you don’t miss the details or what we’re rolling out this fall. I’d love for you to be part of it! Scriptures explored John 15:4–5, 12–14; James 1:5; 1 John 1:9. Bring one real classroom moment to Jesus. Receive from Him. Take your next faithful step. You don’t have to teach in your own strength.
143. Remain in My Love: Where Connected Teaching Begins
2026/10/04
What would change if you walked into school already secure in how deeply you are loved? Friend, you know Jesus loves you. But what happens to that truth when a lesson falls flat, you receive difficult feedback, or you go home replaying a moment you wish you had handled differently? In this episode of The Connected Educator: Abiding in Jesus, Teaching from His Victory, we slow down with John 15:6–14 and Romans 8:15–16 to explore what it means to remain in Jesus’ love—and let belonging become the place we teach from. We’ll explore: Receiving the Father’s love before trying to prove your worth. Approaching feedback and mistakes from a place of secure belonging. Responding to Jesus through loving, practical obedience. Making room for His joy amid real school-day challenges. Loving students and colleagues from what you receive from Him. You’ll also have space for guided reflection and prayer to bring one moment of pressure to Jesus and consider what changes when you remember you are already loved. A simple practice for your week Return to John 15:9–11 and Romans 8:15–16. Read them slowly or listen aloud. Before entering school or a difficult conversation, pause and remember: I am loved. I belong to the Father. I can respond with Jesus. Then ask: What changes in this moment when I remember that I am already loved? Stay connected—and save December 1 For encouragement as you learn to teach from a place of being loved, visit kingdomeducators.com and join my email list. Before the lesson succeeds, before the checklist is finished, before anyone notices what you’ve given—you are deeply loved. Remain in His love, and let that be where your teaching begins.
142. Jesus Is Your Source | You Don't Have to Teach in Your Own Strength
2026/09/26
Where do you turn when your students need more than you feel able to give? Friend, you care deeply about your students. But caring can begin to feel like carrying everything—and somewhere along the way, you may find yourself teaching as though every outcome depends on you. In this first full episode of The Connected Educator: Abiding in Jesus, Teaching from His Victory, we slow down with John 15:1–17 and explore Jesus’ invitation to remain in Him, receive His love, and draw from His life throughout our teaching day. We’ll explore: Recognizing self-dependence and returning to Jesus as your Source. Receiving His love and responding through obedience. Letting His Word shape your perspective, prayers, and relationships. Seeing a challenging student or colleague beyond the pressure of one moment. Recognizing the fruit of His life becoming visible in your everyday responses. You’ll also have space for a guided reflection and prayer to bring one real school situation to Jesus and consider your next faithful step. A simple practice for your week Return to John 15:1–17. Read slowly or listen aloud, noticing repeated words such as abide, love, fruit, and ask. Consider: What does Jesus supply? What is He inviting me to receive and do? What would that look like in one real moment at school? Stay connected—and save December 1 For encouragement as you learn to teach connected, visit kingdomeducators.com and join my email list. 139. Waiting is Not Wasted: Trusting God While Your Story is Still Unfolding
2026/06/28
What do you do when life doesn't make sense yet? In this reflective solo episode, Jesica invites Christian educators into an honest conversation about waiting, trust, and faithfulness in the middle of unfinished stories. Following last week's discussion on worldview, she explores what it looks like to trust God when the next chapter isn't clear, prayers seem unanswered, and circumstances haven't changed the way we hoped they would. Drawing from personal experiences, Scripture, and lessons woven throughout this season, Jesica reminds listeners that faith was never about having the whole map—it was always about trusting the One who does. Through the stories of Abraham, David, and countless Kingdom educators who have shared their journeys this season, you'll be encouraged to embrace stewardship over striving, presence over productivity, and obedience over certainty. If you're walking through a season of transition, disappointment, waiting, or unanswered questions, this episode will remind you that God is not wasting your story. He is not only interested in where He's taking you—He's deeply invested in who you're becoming along the way. 138. How Christian Teachers Can Bring Faith, Truth and Worldview in the Classroom
2026/06/21
What does it actually mean to bring a Christian worldview into education? In this thought-provoking conversation, Jesica is joined by Billy Hutchinson, Director of Colson Educators at The Colson Center, to explore why worldview matters and how it shapes the way we teach, learn, lead, and engage with culture. Drawing from his experience as a teacher, administrator, and worldview educator, Billy explains how our beliefs influence the way we perceive, interpret, and respond to the world around us. Together, they discuss identity, calling, truth, critical thinking, and practical ways Christian educators can cultivate worldview formation in their classrooms—whether they serve in public schools, private schools, homeschools, or educational leadership. This conversation will encourage you to think more deeply about the role faith plays in education and how God can use your influence to help students pursue what is true, good, and beautiful. If you've ever wondered how to faithfully bring your faith into education beyond simply adding Bible verses to what you already do, this episode offers a practical and encouraging starting point. 137. Seeing Through a Kingdom Lens: How God Changes the Way We See Education
2026/06/17
What if the greatest transformation God wants to bring isn't first in your circumstances—but in how you see them? In this reflective solo episode, Jesica explores the power of perspective and why renewing our minds changes the way we experience difficult students, challenging seasons, transitions, and even our own stories. Through Scripture, personal reflection, and practical encouragement, you'll be reminded that Kingdom educators are called to see differently because Heaven shapes the way we interpret what is happening around us. Together, we'll explore how fear, disappointment, and discouragement can distort our perspective—and how Jesus invites us to exchange those burdens for His truth. If you've been feeling weary, stuck, or questioning what God is doing in this season, this conversation will encourage you to lift your eyes and ask: "Jesus, what do You see?" 136. When Your Story Starts Making Sense
2026/06/06
Sometimes the greatest healing happens when we begin seeing our story through Heaven’s perspective. In this powerful conversation, Jesica welcomes back Amber Auger for a deeply honest discussion about identity, healing, surrender, and the ongoing work of Jesus in our lives. Building on the theme that God wastes nothing, Amber shares how the Lord has continued to redeem difficult seasons, reshape old beliefs, and bring freedom in areas she never thought could fully heal. Together, they explore performance-based identity, truth-telling with God, the power of identity exchange, and what it looks like to allow Jesus to heal the deeper places of shame, fear, and striving. Through personal stories and practical examples, you'll be encouraged to bring your own burdens, questions, and wounds to the One who still restores hearts today. If you've ever felt stuck, carried shame, struggled with approval, or wondered whether God is still working in your story, this conversation will remind you that Jesus is not finished. He sees you, He knows your name, and He is inviting you into greater freedom and wholeness. 135. Rediscovering Your Kingdom Identity: Why Your Story Still Matters
2026/05/31
Have you ever felt physically present in your classroom… but spiritually or emotionally exhausted underneath it all? In this heartfelt solo episode, Jesica invites Christian educators into a slower, honest conversation about identity, surrender, and remembering who we truly are in Christ. Building on last week’s conversation about God wasting nothing, this episode explores why our stories matter so deeply to God—and how even the stretching, hidden, and painful seasons may actually be part of His preparation process. Through Scripture, personal reflection, and Kingdom-focused teaching inspired by voices like Myles Munroe, Jesica unpacks what it means to live as ambassadors of Heaven in the world of education. You’ll be reminded that your identity is not rooted in performance, productivity, test scores, or striving—but in abiding with Jesus. This episode speaks directly to the spiritual exhaustion many educators are quietly carrying and offers hope-filled encouragement to reconnect with God’s perspective over your life and story. If you’ve been questioning your impact, feeling weary, or wondering if God is still working in your current season, this conversation will help you lift your eyes again and remember: Heaven does not interpret your story through failure—but through redemption. God is still forming something beautiful through your life, and nothing has been wasted. 134. God Wastes Nothing- The Power of Your Unique Design
2026/05/24
What if the very things you thought were random, difficult, or “just part of your past” are actually part of the beautiful way God designed your story? In this heartfelt and joy-filled conversation, Jesica sits down with Marianne Demico from Christian Educators to talk about how God wastes nothing—not your experiences, your risks, your stretching seasons, or even the gifts you may have forgotten you carry. Through powerful stories from an AWAKE event in New York City, Marianne shares how God used pieces of her life from decades earlier to deeply impact teachers in ways she never could have orchestrated herself. Together, Jesica and Marianne unpack what it means to live as a Kingdom educator on mission with Jesus, trust the long story God is writing, and stop segmenting our lives into disconnected chapters. This episode will encourage you to embrace your unique design, trust that God is weaving every season together with purpose, and remember that even the smallest act of obedience can create ripple effects far beyond what you can see. If you’ve been feeling weary, unseen, uncertain, or questioning whether your story matters—this conversation is for you. 133. God Is Writing Your Story - Finding Purpose in the Middle of It All
2026/05/17
Coming out of last week’s conversation with Dr. Diamond Howell about trusting God in the unknown, this episode becomes a more personal and reflective conversation around the reality that God is still writing our stories—even in the seasons that feel messy, stretching, or unfinished. In this special episode, Jesica’s husband, Jake Glover, joins the podcast to help unpack some of the deeper parts of Jesica’s journey through education, ministry, transition, identity, and trusting God in the middle of the process. If you’ve ever questioned your impact, wrestled with disappointment, or wondered if God is still working in your story, this conversation is for you.
