99 - Why Couples Book Another Photographer Instead of You
2026/09/28
Ever wonder why a couple who found your work, loved it, and even reached out still ended up booking someone else? In this episode of the All Angles Photography Podcast, I'm breaking down the three things quietly deciding whether a couple chooses you or the wedding photographer down the street – long before they ever fill out your inquiry form. If you've ever assumed it came down to your follower count, your portfolio, or your pricing, I'm walking through why none of those are usually the real story, and what actually is. We'll get into the three real roadblocks keeping photographers from being booked before the call: the mismatch between where couples find you and where they decide, the missing middle of your marketing funnel, and the math couples are quietly doing about your pricing before they ever see your numbers. I'm also sharing real transformations from inside my mentorship program, Book It – including a student who went from zero weddings booked for the following year to crossing $100,000 and turning away inquiries within months. Whether you're trying to book more wedding clients, raise your photography prices with confidence, or finally become the sought-after photographer in your market instead of the one couples are comparing, this episode will change how you look at your entire booking process. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will learn: Why your follower count and visibility almost never determine whether a couple books you The real reason "better photography" isn't usually what wins a wedding photography client Why pricing is rarely the reason a couple goes with someone else, if your starting price is already visible The three real roadblocks – the mismatch, the middle, and the math – standing between you and being booked before the call How students like Nicole, Karmen, and Claudia changed their photography businesses using this exact framework Show Notes: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/why-couples-book-another-photographer-instead-of-you/ Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/eD3BhuQ62X8  Resources Mentioned in This Episode Save your spot in the Sought After Photographer Challenge – five days live, working through the mismatch, the middle, and the math (AND MORE) in real time. 98 - Are Discovery Calls Dead? Why Texting Isn't Taking Over (Yet)
2026/09/18
Is Gen Z actually disliking discovery calls — or is that just the story everyone in the wedding industry is telling themselves right now? With 51% of engaged couples now Gen Z and only 15% of them saying they actually enjoy phone calls, it's easy to assume texting is about to replace the discovery call entirely. But if you're rethinking your entire client booking process because of a stat, I want you to hear this first: the research doesn't say couples have stopped wanting to talk to their wedding photographer. It says something much more useful about when they want to talk to you, and what already has to be true before they ever say yes to a call. In this episode, I'm breaking down why couples don't walk into a discovery call to get information anymore — they've already checked your grid, your reviews, your pricing page, and sometimes even asked AI to help write the inquiry before you hear from them. I'll walk you through exactly what's changed about booking wedding clients across every generation (not just Gen Z), why your discovery call might be doing a job it was never built for, and the specific shift that helped my students Michele and Nicole book weddings worth thousands more than their original inquiry budget. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will learn: Why the "Gen Z hates phone calls" narrative is missing the real shift happening across every generation of wedding clients What couples are actually doing before they ever send a photography inquiry — and why the discovery call isn't where you make a first impression How to name, structure, and calendar your discovery call so it stops feeling like an unwanted call Why texting and DMs can warm up a wedding inquiry but can't replace what happens on an actual call The Yes Ladder framework that's helping my students close discovery calls in minutes instead of weeks SHOW NOTES: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/are-discovery-calls-dead-why-texting-isnt-taking-over-yet/ WATCH ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/RTmN7QakvBU  RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THE EPISODE: Grab your spot at the Sought After Photographer Challenge — the next challenge is October 12-16th, 2026! 97 - Pricing Conversations: What Actually Gets You to $25K Bookings with John Bunn
2026/09/04
What actually moves you from 5K weddings to 15K or 25K weddings? John Bunn is joining today with the answer.  John is a wedding photographer, filmmaker, and host of the Shifting Focus podcast. He's 20 years into weddings, averaging 25K to 30K per wedding, with a 60K photo and video booking on his calendar for next year – and he started at $500 a wedding in 2007, in Oklahoma, with no Instagram and no education industry to learn from. In this episode he breaks down what he calls the middle mindset, which isn't a price point at all but a way of running your calendar that keeps hardworking photographers booked, busy, and quietly burning out. He also walks through the three levers every photography business runs on – your work, your brand, and your network – and why most of us keep pulling the one we're already good at while the other two sit untouched. Then he tells the full story behind that 60K booking, and I promise it's not the story you're expecting. It starts at a rehearsal dinner running an hour and a half behind, with a decision he made that had nothing to do with money. We also get into the €2,000 wedding in Italy that he practically begged to shoot and how it turned into a $22,000 destination booking, why raising your prices works better in steps than in leaps, and why John says the middle market is actually harder to sell than the luxury market. If you're wondering how photographers are charging double, triple, even QUADRUPLE what you charge and how they got there, this one's for you, friend. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will learn: What the "middle mindset" actually looks like on your calendar, and why it has almost nothing to do with what you charge The three levers behind every booking – your work, your brand, and your network – and how many you need to be exceptional in to reach each pricing tier The one-hour clarity exercise to do this week that tells you exactly which lever to pull next The full story behind John's 60K photo and video booking, from a rehearsal dinner to three weddings for one family How a €2,000 destination wedding in Italy led to a $22,000 booking in Charleston Why luxury couples buy differently than middle-market couples, and how to sell to each Show Notes: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/pricing-conversations-with-john-bunn/ And for a new way to experience the podcast, watch it here and subscribe on Youtube! 96 - Pricing Conversations: The $4-7K Sweet Spot
2026/08/21
What if the pricing range you're trying to rush your way out of is actually the most strategic place in the wedding photography industry to build from? So many photographers are sitting right in the $4–7K range, doing really well, and quietly believing they should be farther along by now – charging 8K, 10K, 15K, because that's what Instagram makes success look like. In this episode of the Pricing Conversations series, I'm making the case for why this range gives you more inquiries, real selectivity, and add-ons that actually sell, and why mastering it is what makes everything after it possible. We're talking about what the wedding day itself feels like in this range, the math of booking 20 weddings at 6K, and why your albums, film add-ons, engagement sessions, and extra coverage hours convert here more easily than anywhere else. I'm also sharing what genuinely changes the moment your starting price passes 7K – because a 10K photography business isn't a bigger version of the one you have now, it's a different business with a different client, a different acquisition strategy, and a different kind of currency. I wish someone had explained that to me before I made the jump myself. And then there's the part I think is the most important: the single most common thing that breaks a photography business that's already working is boredom. I'm sharing exactly what happened to one of my students when she changed what was converting, what it cost her, and what happened when she went back. Because familiar to you is brand new to your client, friend. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will learn: Why the $4–7K range creates more inquiries and real selectivity, and how to find the pricing dead zone in your own market How to build add-ons and higher packages that couples genuinely want, so your average booking climbs without raising your base price What actually changes when you move past 7K – your point of contact, your acquisition, your client experience, your systems, and your positioning Why you should only change what's working when your numbers tell you to, and the three things to check before you raise your prices again Show Notes: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/pricing-conversations-the-4-7k-sweet-spot/  Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in this Episode: Join the Book It waitlist – doors open in October, and waitlist members get first access to a special surprise I'm offering for the first time ever Get the Discovery Call Script – my $67 Serve to Sell Framework™ for leading your discovery call with confidence, connection, and a natural close that doesn't feel salesy, including the full yes ladder training (podcast listener discount code: PODSQUAD) Join Scale It – for photographers ready to scale what's already working, including associate teams Episode 89: The Real Reason You're Not Booking at Your Current Prices Episode 93: How to Share Pricing as a Photographer Episode 65: The Difference Between a $5,000 Wedding Photographer and a $10,000 Wedding Photographer Claire's Instagram: @itsclairehunt
95 - How I Became a Sought After Wedding Photographer (Live Workshop on 7/22)
2026/07/17
Ever wonder what it actually takes to become a sought after wedding photographer — the kind couples choose before they've even gotten on a call with you? In this episode, I'm sharing the most in-depth version of the beginning of my own story: how I went from a pediatric trauma nurse to a six-figure wedding photography business in under a year, how I moved my business across the country without losing a single week of momentum, and the exact shift that took one of my students from three years of silence in her inbox to booking $9,000 in three days. If you've ever felt invisible even while doing everything "right," or you're tired of getting ghosted after sending your pricing guide, this episode will change how you think about your own photography business marketing and messaging. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: How I replaced my nursing income and went full-time in photography in just three months — with nearly zero strategy in place My timeline behind scaling from $1,500 weddings to $6,500 weddings, including my first destination wedding and eight weddings booked in just one month What it actually took to move my wedding photography business across the country and prove it wasn't luck Why messaging — not visibility, not pricing — is usually the real reason couples choose someone else, and how one student booked $9,000 in three days by shifting her words alone SHOW NOTES: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/how-i-became-a-sought-after-wedding-photographer/ Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in this Episode: Register for Booked Before the Call — my live, one-time workshop on July 22nd, 2026 where I'll walk you through the real reason couples choose someone else, the positioning shifts that make you the obvious choice before a call ever happens, and how to build enough value in your words alone that your price becomes beside the point. 94 - The 4 Hidden Numbers That Determine Your Photography Business Success
2026/07/03
If you've ever obsessed over your revenue number without actually understanding why your bookings are up or down, this episode is going to change how you see your entire photography business. We're breaking down the four hidden numbers most wedding photographers never track consistently — your website conversion rate, your contact page conversion rate, your inquiry to booking rate, and your call conversion rate — and showing you exactly how each one reveals where your business is quietly leaking clients. Revenue can only tell you what already happened. These four numbers tell you what to actually fix next. I'm walking you through real stories from my Book It students to show you what's possible when you finally understand your numbers instead of just guessing — from a student booking around 90% of her calls, to another who had a bride ready to book within five minutes of getting on the phone. I'm also sharing a personal story about hiring a nanny for my son that perfectly mirrors why speed and consistency in your inquiry response can make or break a booking. By the end of this episode, you'll know exactly which one number to start watching this week and what it's telling you about your photography business growth. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: Why your revenue alone can never tell you what to fix in your business — and what to track instead How to read your website conversion rate and contact page conversion rate to know if your website funnel is actually doing the selling for you Why your inquiry to booking rate matters more than ever in 2026, and how to stop losing warm leads in the gap between inquiry and booking How to raise your call conversion rate and lead a discovery call with confidence instead of hoping for a yes How to read all four numbers together so you know exactly where your one true leak is instead of guessing SHOW NOTES: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/hidden-numbers-that-determine-your-photography-business-success/ Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in this Episode: Apply for Book It — my signature mentorship program where we build all five foundations together: branding, marketing, website, pricing and sales, and client experience + organization. 93 - Pricing Conversations: How To Share Pricing as a Photographer
2026/06/12
If you've been losing sleep over where your wedding photography pricing is supposed to live – on your website, behind an inquiry form, or saved for the discovery call – I want to take that weight off your shoulders right now. The reason this question feels so impossible is because it's been treated like a yes-or-no decision, when it was never yes-or-no at all. It's about the sequence – what you say, where you say it, and in what order – so couples fall in love with you before they ever start comparing numbers. In this Pricing Conversations episode, I'm walking you through exactly where your pricing belongs at every stage: on your website, inside your inquiry response, and in the actual conversation on a discovery call. We get into the real difference between price transparency (the number that qualifies people) and the pricing conversation (the connection that converts them) – two completely different skills almost nobody talks about. I also share why couples ghost you after you send your pricing (spoiler: it's almost never the number), how to rewrite your photography inquiry response to lead with connection first, and the website audit that uncovered 950 visits and only one inquiry. Whether you're a wedding photographer trying to stop getting price shopped, book more dream clients, or finally feel calm and confident talking about money, this one will reframe how you think about sharing your pricing in today's market. You'll walk away with four things you can implement today to start qualifying better inquiries and booking the couples who were always meant to find you. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: Where your pricing belongs at every stage – website, inquiry response, and discovery call – and how to sequence it so desire comes before the number The difference between price transparency that works and transparency that quietly kills your conversions The real reason couples ghost you after you send your pricing (and why it's almost never your rates) How to lead a discovery call that feels like serving instead of selling – so the yes becomes the natural next step Show Notes: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/how-to-share-pricing-as-a-photographer/ Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in the Episode: Get my free Hook Inquiries email templates – the exact words to connect first, introduce pricing, and guide couples toward a call Grab the Discovery Call Script – build the yes ladder and lead your call from hello to "where do we sign" Get the Pricing Calculator – set pricing built on your real numbers, not a vibe Apply for Book It – the complete way to become the photographer dream clients seek out, choose, and happily invest in Listen to Episode 73 – whether to share your pricing before or after a discovery call Come say hi on Instagram @itsclairehunt – I'd love to know how this episode landed for you
92 - AI Contract Essentials for Photographers with The Legal Paige
2026/05/18
You're using AI in your photography business right now – whether you realize it or not. From Lightroom's generative tools to culling software to how you're writing your blogs, AI is everywhere in our workflows. But here's what most photographers don't know: without the right language in your contracts, you could be putting your copyright ownership at risk. Even worse, your clients are probably uploading your delivered photos into AI generators and creating derivative works without understanding they're violating your copyright. The legal layer of photography has completely shifted, and the photographers who get ahead of this now are the ones who'll sleep soundly knowing they're protected. In this episode, I have Paige Griffith from The Legal Paige to walk you through the AI clauses you need in your photography contract right now, why transparency about your AI usage actually builds trust with clients, and exactly what happens when clients use AI on your photos. Whether you're already using AI tools or you're wondering if you should be, this conversation is essential for protecting your creative work and your business. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you'll hear: What AI tools you're probably already using in your photography workflow and how to disclose them to clients through an AI disclaimer clause The copyright implications of using generative AI in your photo editing and why the U.S. Copyright Office says your work must be "largely human-created" to be protected How clients are using AI on delivered photos right now (and why they don't realize it's copyright infringement) and what contract language stops it The three specific contract clauses every photographer needs: AI disclaimer, personal license to use (updated for AI), and copyright and intellectual property protection Why being transparent about your AI usage with clients builds trust instead of creating distance How to protect your website copy and content if you're using AI to create blogs, landing pages, or email sequences Why getting your legal foundation solid now—before there's a problem—is the smartest investment you can make in your photography business Show Notes: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/ai-contract-essentials-for-photographers-with-the-legal-paige/  Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in the Episode: The Legal Paige Mid-Year Sale - where you can find all the contract clauses, templates, and resources Paige mentioned for 40% off May 18th-21st 2026. Use code CLAIRE10 for an extra discount on top of the sale – or year-round if you're catching this episode later.  AI Clause Bundle for Photographers and Videographers - includes the three essential clauses (AI disclaimer, personal license to use update, and copyright/IP protection) ready to copy and paste into your contract AI Disclaimer Clause for Website Terms and Conditions - separate clause for protecting your website copy and content if you're using AI to create it For more contract essentials that are my favorites from The Legal Paige, I have them all listed out at the bottom of the show notes The Legal Paige Facebook Community - where photographers share legal questions and Paige answers them directly
91 - Why Bookings Feel Harder in 2026 (And the 3 Fixes That Work)
2026/04/24
What you actually need in 2026? A complete system — one that creates consistency whether the economy shifts, trends change, or your confidence wavers on any given day. That's exactly what we're building toward with the Client Connection System™. In this episode, you're getting the audio version of my Booked + Valued workshop (And if you want to see the full video version and see on-screen references, you can register for the free Booked + Valued workshop [VIDEO] here), where I walk you through the three specific strategies that are actually booking photographers in today's market. Here's what you'll walk away with: How to dissolve competition in saturated markets so you become the obvious choice before couples even speak with you — through brand positioning How to attract the clients you actually want and convert them into bookings consistently — through desire-based messaging that speaks to what couples feel, not just what you do How to book your highest packages without competing on price or deliverables — through a value-building sales process that has couples feeling sold before pricing even comes up You'll also hear real student results from Book It — Nicole who booked 9K in three days and 25K by month two, Kaleigh and Michael who booked 62K while in the program, Ariah who went from 2K to 6K packages in 90 days, and Karmen who hit a 90%+ discovery call conversion rate and brought in 69K total. 90 - Book It Student Wins: $9K in 3 Days, $40K by Feb, $69K in 3 Months, + More
2026/04/03
You're working hard – really hard – but something still isn't clicking. The inquiries aren't consistent, the bookings feel unpredictable, and you're starting to wonder if it's your market, your pricing, or just you. What if I told you it's none of those things? In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, I'm sharing what changes when wedding photographers build the right business foundation – and I'm letting the results speak for themselves. Since I started tracking Book It student wins in 2025, photographers inside the program have collectively submitted $3.7 million in tracked results. In this episode, I'm sharing six of those stories — photographers who came in with inconsistent bookings, nonexistent inquiries, and businesses that weren't working for them — and showing you exactly what shifted. We're talking $40K booked by February 13th, $69K in three months, $9K in three days with a 100% conversion rate, $8K weddings booked without a single discovery call, and a photographer who delivered a contract poolside while on vacation with her family. The numbers are real. But what's underneath them — the confidence, the freedom, the feeling that your business is finally working for you instead of against you — that's the part I really want you to hear. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you'll hear about: How six Book It students went from inconsistent inquiries and relying on referrals to building photography businesses that book dream clients consistently Why mindset and strategy work together — and how Claudia's $34K transformation came from doing both at once What a website that actually converts looks like in practice — including how Logan books $8K weddings without ever getting on a discovery call How Nicole used SEO inside Book It to create a brand new lead generation avenue she'd never had access to before — with zero paid ads SHOW NOTES: https://clairehunt.co/blog/student-reviews/recent-book-it-student-wins/ RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THE EPISODE: Apply for Book It — the 12-week photography business mentorship program built on the Client Connection System™ Grab the Discovery Call Script — the standalone tool Karmen and Nicole both started with before joining Book It Join the Anchara waitlist — the all-in-one CRM built specifically for photographers Connect with Claire: Claire's Instagram
89 - Pricing Conversations: The Reason You're Not Booking at Your Prices
2026/03/13
If bookings have felt slower lately and you've started wondering if your pricing is too high — this episode is your permission slip to stop second-guessing yourself. The truth is, your price is almost never the real problem. What's actually getting in the way is that your dream clients aren't feeling your value before they ever reach out. And that's a completely fixable thing. In this first episode of my new Pricing Conversations series, I'm breaking down the three specific places where value gets communicated in your photography business before a couple even hits send on your contact form — and why when those three things are working together, your wedding photography pricing stops feeling like something you have to justify or defend. Whether you're struggling with getting ghosted after sending pricing, trying to book higher packages consistently, or just feeling like your photography marketing isn't converting the way it should, this episode will help you see exactly where to focus your energy. We're talking brand positioning, inquiry response strategy, and discovery call frameworks — the full client connection system that turns cold leads into dream bookings, without lowering your prices or adding more to your packages just to compete. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: Why lowering your wedding photography pricing when bookings slow down actually works against you The three places value gets built — and how to make each one work harder for you What strong brand positioning actually does (and a real student example of a couple who wanted to book 5 minutes into the call) How to build a discovery call framework that feels like genuine connection, not a sales pitch Show Notes: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/pricing-conversations-the-reason-youre-not-booking-at-your-prices/ Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in the Episode Watch the free Booked and Valued workshop — where I break down the three biggest roadblocks photographers face when trying to book dream clients at 5K+ packages, and walk you through how to actually fix them Grab the four free inquiry email templates — the exact ones I use in my business, downloaded by over 11,000 photographers, with guidance on how to personalize them so you get ghosted less and move more couples toward a discovery call Get the Discovery Call Script — my $67 serve-to-sell framework™ for leading your discovery call with confidence, connection, and a natural close that doesn't feel salesy Apply for Book It — my signature mentorship program where we build all five foundations together: branding, marketing, website, pricing and sales, and client experience + organization. 88 - Laurel's Book It Review: From 3 Weddings Per YEAR To A 20K PROFIT Month
2026/02/27
You don't need a perfect season, a wide open schedule, or everything figured out to build a photography business that actually works. What you need are the right foundations — and this episode is proof of exactly that. I'm sitting down with Laurel, one of my past Book It students, to walk through her full transformation story: from shooting two to three weddings and struggling with Instagram strategy and the booking process, to booking her highest wedding package at $7,500, bringing in over $16K cash while paused from the program, and hitting $20,000 in profit in January 2026 alone. If you're a wedding photographer wondering whether now is the right time to invest in your business, whether you'll have enough time to implement, or whether a photography mentorship program can actually work for someone in your specific situation — Laurel's story is going to answer a lot of those questions. Her journey inside Book It is a real, honest look at what building a sustainable photography business actually looks like. She came in as a nurse working part-time in photography, mostly shooting seniors and families, with big dreams of making weddings her full-time focus. About halfway through the program, life happened and she had to step away — and her business kept moving anyway. Now she's nursing only one to two days a week by choice, consistently booking dream wedding clients, and experiencing her biggest revenue and profit months ever. This is what happens when you stop piecing together conflicting advice and start building on proven photography business strategies rooted in connection, brand positioning, and a booking process that converts. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: How Laurel went from two to three weddings and inconsistent bookings to $16K cash and a $7,500 wedding package while paused mid-program What she implemented inside Book It — including website refinement, Instagram strategy, and the inquiry-to-booking process — that created results even when she stepped away Why building your photography business foundations correctly means your business keeps working for you, even during life's hard seasons What Laurel would tell any photographer sitting on the fence about joining a mentorship program How Laurel had her biggest month ever just in January, bringing in a $20k PROFIT SHOW NOTES: https://clairehunt.co/blog/student-reviews/book-it-review-laurel-3-weddings-to-20k-profit-month/  Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in the Episode Ready to build the foundations that keep working for you, even when life gets hard?  Apply for Book It Want to connect with Laurel and see her beautiful work? Find her on Instagram at @lifeframesby_laurel and at lifeframesbylaurel.com Getting ghosted when a dream client inquires? 87 - Why Your Inquiry Process Is Costing You Bookings (And How To Fix It)
2026/02/13
If you're getting ghosted after sending pricing, wondering why inquiries aren't converting, or feeling like potential clients are choosing cheaper photographers — the problem might not be your pricing or your portfolio. Most wedding photographers think sales begins when an inquiry hits their inbox, but the truth is, your sales process started long before that first email. Your brand positioning, your online presence, your messaging, your values, how you make people feel — all of it is doing the selling (or not) before a couple ever fills out your contact form. In this episode, I'm breaking down the three biggest areas of your inquiry-to-booking process that are costing you bookings and what to do about each one — from building strategic brand positioning that attracts dream clients who are ready to book, to refining your inquiry emails so you stop getting ghosted, to leading discovery calls with confidence instead of handing the reins to the client and hoping for the best. I'm also sharing two real stories from my own photography business that completely changed how I see the sales process — including a couple who told me on a discovery call, "We feel like we already know you and we hadn't even talked to you yet" — and how you can create that same experience for your clients through intentional brand strategy. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: Why sales starts at your brand's first impression — not when someone inquires — and how strategic brand positioning is foundational to booking dream clients at premium prices What brand positioning actually includes beyond your logo, color palette, and portfolio (and why most photographers are missing the biggest pieces) How to refine your inquiry response and follow-up emails so potential clients stay engaged instead of ghosting How to lead a discovery call that builds value and books your highest packages — without feeling salesy Show Notes: https://clairehunt.co/blog/show-notes/why-your-inquiry-process-is-costing-you-bookings/ Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in the Episode: Watch the free Booked + Valued Workshop - Learn The Client Connection System for attracting dream clients at premium prices Getting ghosted when a dream client inquires? 86 - All Angles Takes a Break
2025/11/28
What if slowing down was actually the smartest business move you could make right now? I know it sounds counterintuitive—especially in an industry that glorifies the hustle and constantly showing up. But here's what I've learned after over five years of building, scaling, and sustaining a successful photography business: not everything is glass. Some things are rubber, and they can bounce for a bit while you get ahead, refine, and create space for what really matters. All Angles Photography Podcast is taking a short break, and I'm coming back on February 13th with new episodes. This isn't coming from a place of burnout or not loving what I do—I absolutely love showing up here and sharing free, actionable education with you. But after 85 episodes of consistent content every two weeks for the past three and a half years, I'm giving myself permission to slow down so I can speed up. I'm using this time to get ahead on content, explore ways to serve you even better, and honestly just breathe a little during this season of motherhood, refinements, and running a life-first business. If you've been feeling stretched thin or like you're constantly keeping up instead of getting ahead, let this be your permission too. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: Why I'm taking a break from the podcast (and when I'll be back with new episodes) The "glass vs. rubber" mindset shift that gave me permission to pause What I'll be working on behind the scenes during this time How to stay connected and work together between now and February A reminder that your business won't crumble if you give yourself space to slow down RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THE EPISODE: Follow me on Instagram @itsclairehunt Apply for Scale It Mentorship Program (starting January 6th, spots still available) Join the waitlist for Book It Mentorship Program Explore my shop with code PODSQUAD for a discount Book a 1:1 mentorship session (spots available starting January)
85 - Jess's Scale It Review: Outsourcing, Systems, + an Associate Team
2025/11/14
What if your photography business could keep booking clients, serving couples beautifully, and generating revenue—even when you're going through the hardest season of your life? Most photographers think scaling means raising prices or shooting more weddings. But true scaling means building a business that runs without you, whether you're on vacation, navigating a personal crisis, or simply choosing to step back for a season. In this episode, I'm sitting down with Jess, one of my Scale It graduates who transformed her thriving-but-exhausting photography business into a sustainable model with an associate team, full outsourcing, and systems that gave her freedom when she needed it most. Jess specializes in intimate weddings with 30 guests or less, and she's not just a photographer—she's also a planner and day-of coordinator for her couples. When she joined Scale It in January 2025, she was in her fourth year of business, financially successful but stuck in "creative robot mode" every busy season. Fast forward to August 2025, and Jess has built and booked her associate team, fully outsourced key areas of her business with a VA, blog and Pinterest manager, and social media manager, and created systems that allow her to serve clients seamlessly without being hands-on. Most importantly, when Jess went through a difficult personal season, her business kept running smoothly in the background—even booking four 2026 weddings in one week while she was navigating one of life's toughest transitions. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear: How to build a photography business that runs without you through strategic outsourcing and systems Why you don't have to be burned out to need to scale your photography business How to structure an associate team for unique business models (like combining photography with planning services) The systems and workflows that allow your business to keep booking clients even during hard personal seasons How outsourcing actually works when you have the right training and SOPs in place Why scaling isn't just about vacations—it's about building a sustainable photography business that serves your life SHOW NOTES: https://clairehunt.co/blog/student-reviews/jess-scale-it-review/    RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Apply for Scale It Mentorship Program—my five-month group mentorship focused on building associate teams, outsourcing effectively, and scaling your photography business for work-life balance Follow Jess on Instagram @jessicaluannphoto (changing this off-season, so keep your eye out!)
