Thoughts on Rutgers Football's 1-4 start & why the identity of the program in Schiano 2.0 is failure
2026/10/05
The Scarlet Knights showed zero fight against the defending national champion Indiana Hoosiers and that was the worst part of the 47-15 loss on Homecoming. Apathy is setting in among the fan base after the last two home games against ranked foes have had many empty seats. With more resources and far less results compared to a Big Ten program like Minnesota, it's clear this program is hopeless under Schiano. Three wins against winning teams in six plus years. A rebranding is desperately needed after the program suffered its 45th straight loss to a ranked opponent. #rutgersfootball
Rutgers' 42-35 loss to No. 12 USC another chapter in the book of losing winnable games under Schiano
2026/09/20
The Scarlet Knights had a real opportunity to break its 17 year drought in earning a ranked win but failed once again due to poor coaching decisions and a lack of execution. A full recap from my own experience at the game and why this game and season is just another example and not an exception to the continued issues in Greg Schiano's second tenure at Rutgers.#rutgersfootball
Rapid reaction to Rutgers' 28-21 loss at Boston College to fall to 0-2
2026/09/12
Greg Schiano's team was not ready to play and it was one of the worst coached games in his career. Four interceptions inside the BC 35 and failing to convert on 4th down in scoring position were killers. While the defense generated three takeaways, far too many blown coverages in this game. With Rutgers 0-2, all hope is lost and the dark days are in full swing once again. Schiano 2.0 is as good as over and until a change is made, the future for this program is bleak.#rutgersfootball
Keys to Victory for Rutgers v. Boston College in a must win game in AJ Surace's 1st start at QB
2026/09/10
David Anderson of the Rutgers Realm returns as we preview Rutgers at BC in the Red Bandana game on 9/11. We discuss AJ Surace's opportunity, the need for KJ Duff and Antwan Raymond to take control of the game, whether the defense will be more aggressive and what this outcome means for the rest of the season. After recent missed opportunities, the UMass loss signals long term decline for Rutgers football
2026/09/08
After a few days of perspective, I detail why I think the dynamics of the program have changed for the worse. After several seasons of missing the chance to take a step forward, a major fall is in progress. Even with a win at BC, the odds for Rutgers to gain bowl eligibility is slim based on this team is built. With every national college football pregame show, podcast and prominent media members criticizing RU for the loss to UMass, I think the impact on recruiting, donors, corporate sponsors, fan support and national perception will go far beyond this weekend. That is unless a change is made by AD Keli Zinn. Also discussed is Rutgers men's basketball landing 4-star recruit RJ Moore and several women's programs having a good weekend.Note: Apologies for the video quality at times in this podcast. I'm not sure what happened but as always I'll continue to tweak things to improve. Thank you for watching and listening.#rutgersfootball
37-21 loss to UMass puts Rutgers back in the Dark Days with no hope left for the Schiano era
2026/09/04
The Scarlet Knights were thoroughly outcoached and outplayed in an all-time embarrassing loss to UMass in the 2026 season opener. Turnovers, penalties, an inability to run, another terrible defensive performance result in the worst loss of Greg Schiano's career at Rutgers. With a massive buyout, AD Keli Zinn has a huge dilemma with not a lot of options at the moment to end the Schiano era and rebuild the program. A full rapid reaction here.#rutgersfootball

Rutgers Football Training Camp: Reasons for Optimism, Pessimism, QB Battle & Lack of Fan Engagement
2026/08/13
David Anderson is back to discuss Rutgers football as training camp is well into its second week. We discuss a variety of topics including the QB battle between AJ Surace and Dylan Lonergan, high hopes for the wide receiver group, concern with the OL, cautious optimism with a new look defense and old man Breitman's rant about Greg Schiano not trying to engage fans and promote the program at a time it is needed. Also look for David's new podcast the Rutgers Realm out on all platforms!!#RFootball
As summer of Rutgers nears end, Keli Zinn has modernized the athletic department in year one
2026/08/05
After a summer hiatus, the Scarlet Faithful podcast is back. With Rutgers consistently popping up on the national stage in recent months, the school year is rapidly approaching. Football training camp is open, and basketball has built a full roster. The most important gains this summer and past year has been AD Keli Zinn adding infrastructure, skilled leaders and a strategic plan that has Rutgers Athletics built for future. This should bring fans real optimism for the long run. A full discussion on multiple topics in this episode.
Thoughts on Rutgers basketball's roster for next season after landing 6'6" guard Rasheed Jones
2026/05/21
The Scarlet Knights added another playmaking perimeter player in Rasheed Jones. A full-time starter last season at Coastal Carolina, Jones shot 36% from three on high volume. He is an athletic guard who can score in multiple ways. As far as roster construction, this episode deep dives on the clear strengths of this team (FT shooting, TO rate, 3-point shooting depth) as well as major concerns including a mostly one-dimensional backcourt, a lack of depth in the paint and team defense.#rutgersbasketball
Rutgers Football: Reasons for Optimism & Pessimism following Spring Camp
2026/05/12
David Anderson and I discuss the state of Rutgers football following Spring Camp. On offense there is continuity in the system under OC Kirk Ciarocca, a changing of the guard at QB, two elite playmakers return, but plenty of questions on the offensive line. On defense, a completely new coaching staff but one that has been successful together before along with all new personnel as well. Can the program take a step forward this season and if they don't, what would that mean for Greg Schiano. There are more questions than answers at this stage of the offseason. Listen and watch to this marathon episode for our thoughts on the program.#rutgersfootball
Takeaways on Rutgers basketball landing former MAAC Rookie of the Year Will Sydnor
2026/04/21
The Scarlet Knights added much needed help in the frontcourt with Manhattan forward Will Sydnor committing to the program. He averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds for the Jaspers as a freshman before sitting out last season due to eligibility issues dating back to a high school transcript. Sydnor adds athleticism, physicality and is another player who is efficient scoring at the rim while adding a capable rebounder inside. A full discussion on Sydnor and how the rotation is shaping up now along with impact transfers Darin Smith Jr. and Christian Gurdak. Plus how I think Steve Pikiell should finish out the roster through the portal.#rutgersbasketball
Takeaways on Rutgers basketball landing Virginia Tech Big Man Christian Gurdak Edited
2026/04/18
The Scarlet Knights add a second impact portal pickup in consecutive days with 6'10" big man Christian Gurdak. Another offensive first player that brings a specific skill set to RU with his ability to score and rebound at the rim. He has a high motor and has multiple years of eligibility. An analysis of what Gurdak brings to the program as well as my hope for how Steve Pikiell hopefully fills out the rest of the roster.#rutgersbasketball
