Hannah Upp: The Woman Who Disappeared Three Times
2026/10/12
When 23-year-old Hannah Upp vanished from New York City in 2008, everyone feared the worst. But nearly three weeks later, she was found alive, floating in the water, with no memory of where she'd been or what had happened to her.
Five years later, she disappeared again. And then, in 2017, it happened a third time. Only this time, Hannah never came home.
But Hannah's story isn't the typical missing-person case. There was no confirmed kidnapping, no evidence of murder, and no clear indication she wanted to disappear. Instead, investigators uncovered a rare psychological condition that could cause Hannah to forget who she was entirely.
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we dive into the baffling disappearances of Hannah Upp, the mystery of the human mind, and the haunting question that remains: How do you find someone who may not even know they're missing?

Denise Amber Lee
2026/09/21
On January 17, 2008, 21-year-old Denise Amber Lee was home in North Port, Florida, with her two young sons when a stranger entered her home and abducted her.
What followed was a desperate race against time. Denise managed to secretly call 911 from her captor’s phone, giving dispatchers whatever information she could while trying not to be discovered. Other witnesses called 911 too — including one who reported seeing a woman struggling inside a car on the highway.
But despite multiple calls, critical information never reached officers in time.
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we walk through Denise’s abduction and murder, the investigation that led police to Michael King, the 911 call that became central to the case, his trial, and the changes Denise’s family fought for afterward.
This is the story of Denise Amber Lee — a 21-year-old mother who did everything she could to save herself.

The Murder of Clancy Children & the Trial of Lindsey Clancy
2026/09/07
You asked. You begged. And Kate finally gave in.
This week on Over My Dead Pod, we’re covering the Lindsey Clancy case — and more specifically, the trial that has had everyone talking.
In January 2023, three young children were killed inside their Duxbury, Massachusetts home. Their mother, Lindsey Clancy, was charged with their deaths. What followed became one of the most complicated and fiercely debated criminal cases in recent memory, raising difficult questions about mental illness, postpartum psychiatric disorders, criminal responsibility, and what Lindsey understood at the time her children died.
We break down Lindsey’s story, the events leading up to that night, the prosecution and defense theories, the evidence presented at trial, the moments that don’t seem to fit neatly into either side’s version of events, and the possible verdicts the jury was asked to consider.
Whether you’ve followed this case from the beginning or you’re hearing the full story for the first time, there is a lot to unpack.

Jamie Ann Moore - Conway Co. Jane Doe
2026/08/31
For more than 30 years, no one knew her name.
On October 24, 1994, skeletal remains were discovered beside railroad tracks near U.S. Highway 64 in Conway County, Arkansas. Investigators determined the woman had been murdered, but with few clues to her identity, the case eventually became known simply as Conway County Jane Doe.
Over the decades, investigators refused to completely give up on her. Advances in DNA technology offered new possibilities, including a reconstructed image of what she may have looked like in life. Then, in February 2026, the mystery that had lasted more than three decades was finally solved.
Conway County Jane Doe had a name: Jamie Ann Moore.
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we follow Jamie’s case from the discovery of her remains in 1994 through the decades-long effort to identify her, the DNA technology that finally gave investigators an answer, and the questions that remain now that Jamie finally has her name back.
Because identifying Jamie solved one mystery — but it reopened another.
Who killed Jamie Ann Moore?

163: The Rostov Ripper
2026/08/17
Andrei Chikatilo became one of the most infamous serial killers in history — but for years, authorities in the Soviet Union struggled to stop him.
Known as the Rostov Ripper and the Red Ripper, Chikatilo terrorized the Soviet Union throughout the 1970s, '80s, and early '90s, targeting women and children and ultimately confessing to more than 50 murders.
But this case isn't only disturbing because of the sheer number of victims. It's also the story of an investigation plagued by missed opportunities, false confessions, secrecy, and a Soviet system reluctant to acknowledge that a serial killer could even exist within its borders.
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we go back to Chikatilo's early life, the crimes that sparked one of the largest manhunts in Soviet history, the mistakes that allowed him to remain free, and the investigation that finally brought the Rostov Ripper to justice.
This is the story of Andrei Chikatilo.
162: The Interstate Serial Killer
2026/08/10
On August 25, 2000, 25-year-old Kristin Laurite pulled off I-40 in Morrilton, Arkansas for a break on her cross-country move to start a new life.
She never got back on the road. What followed was a 5-year mystery, a desperate billboard campaign that read “Do You Know Who Killed Me?”, and a DNA breakthrough connecting her murder to a trail of victims across the country.
Who was really waiting at that rest stop and how many others did he leave behind?
161: Peter Keller - Part Two
2026/07/27
A hidden bunker deep in the Washington wilderness. A husband and father who vanished without a trace. And a horrifying discovery that proved his escape plan came at an unimaginable cost.
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we unravel the disturbing case of Peter Keller—the survivalist whose obsession with disappearing into the woods concealed a far darker reality. For years, Keller meticulously constructed a secret underground bunker in the forests of the Cascade Mountains, telling those around him little about the project. To outsiders, it seemed like the eccentric hobby of a man preparing for the apocalypse. But investigators would eventually learn the bunker wasn't built to survive the end of the world—it was built to hide from the consequences of his own actions.
How does someone spend years preparing for survival while secretly planning murder? And what drives a seemingly ordinary family man to choose isolation, violence, and ultimately, self-destruction?
Join us as we descend into one of the most chilling survivalist cases in modern true crime—a story where the deepest secrets were buried beneath the trees.

159: Michele Harris
2026/07/13
On the morning of September 12, 2001, as the nation reeled from the events of 9/11, one family's nightmare unfolded quietly in a small town in upstate New York.
Michele Anne Harris, a devoted mother of four, vanished from her home without a trace. Her purse, keys, and personal belongings were left behind. There were no signs of forced entry, no confirmed sightings, and despite years of searching, Michele has never been found.
As investigators dug deeper, the spotlight quickly turned to her estranged husband, Cal Harris. What followed was one of the most extraordinary legal sagas in modern true crime history: four murder trials, multiple convictions overturned, shocking twists, conflicting witnesses, and a case that left juries—and the public—deeply divided.
Did Michele leave voluntarily to start a new life? Was she murdered in the early hours before dawn? Or did the truth disappear with her?
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we unravel the mysterious disappearance of Michele Anne Harris, examine the evidence that led prosecutors to pursue a murder case without a body, explore the controversial testimony that changed everything, and break down the decades-long courtroom battle that continues to fuel debate more than twenty years later.
Because sometimes the most haunting mysteries aren't the ones with too many answers—they're the ones that still have none.

158: Jennifer Kesse
2026/07/06
On the morning of January 24, 2006, 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse left for work—or so everyone believed. When she never arrived at her office, her family knew something was terribly wrong. What followed would become one of Florida's most baffling missing person cases.
Jennifer's car was discovered abandoned just over a mile from her condominium, but the only known surveillance footage of the person who parked it would become one of the most frustrating pieces of evidence in true crime history. In an almost unbelievable twist of fate, the individual was obscured by the camera's fence posts in every single frame, leaving investigators without a clear image of the one person who may know what happened to Jennifer.
Was she targeted by someone who had been watching her? Did construction workers at her condominium witness more than they admitted? Or is the truth hidden in plain sight, buried beneath years of unanswered questions and missed investigative opportunities?
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we examine Jennifer's final known movements, the mysterious surveillance footage, the persons of interest who have fueled decades of speculation, and the investigative missteps that continue to haunt the case nearly two decades later. We also explore how Jennifer's family has fought tirelessly to keep her story alive while searching for the answers that have eluded law enforcement for years.
Someone knows what happened to Jennifer Kesse. The question is whether they're finally ready to tell the truth.

157: Lizzie Halliday
2026/06/22
In the late 1800s, one woman left a trail of death and deception that shocked America and earned her a place among history's most notorious female killers.
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we dive into the disturbing story of Lizzie Halliday, an Irish immigrant whose life was marked by fraud, arson, suspicious deaths, and multiple marriages that often ended in tragedy. Long before serial killers became a staple of true crime headlines, Halliday was accused of murdering several husbands and, in 1894, brutally killing two women on a rural New York farm.
As investigators uncovered her past, they found a web of aliases, insurance schemes, disappearances, and unexplained deaths stretching across multiple states. Her trial sparked fierce debates about mental illness, criminal responsibility, and whether she should face execution for her crimes. The case became even more shocking when Halliday later attacked and killed a nurse while confined to a psychiatric institution.
Was Lizzie Halliday a calculating serial killer who exploited a system unprepared for a woman capable of such violence? Or was she a severely disturbed woman whose crimes reflected a lifetime of untreated mental illness?
Join us as we examine the evidence, separate fact from legend, and explore the life of a woman many historians consider America's first female serial killer.

156: Ken & Barbie Killers
2026/06/15
When a series of brutal sexual assaults terrorized the Toronto area in the late 1980s and early 1990s, investigators struggled to identify the man responsible. That man was Paul Bernardo—a serial rapist who would later become one half of one of Canada's most infamous criminal couples.
In this episode of Over My Dead Pod, we examine the crimes of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, whose partnership shocked the world and sparked decades of controversy. We follow the investigation from the unsolved "Scarborough Rapist" attacks through the murders of teenage girls Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French, and the tragic death of Karla's own sister, Tammy Homolka.
But this case isn't just about the crimes. It's also about the mistakes that allowed them to continue. We'll explore the investigative failures, communication breakdowns, and delayed DNA testing that kept Bernardo off law enforcement's radar for years despite mounting evidence. We also examine the controversial plea agreement that earned Karla Homolka a reduced sentence before prosecutors discovered videotapes revealing the extent of her involvement—an outcome that led many Canadians to question whether justice was ever truly served.
Join us as we unpack one of the most notorious criminal cases in Canadian history, the investigation that missed critical opportunities to stop a predator, and the enduring debate over Karla Homolka's role as victim, accomplice, or something far more sinister.
