I have watched tons of Chinese novels about this time period so it was nice to see an actual adaptation that crystallized the era for me Thanks for listening! I always love dramas where characters are good even if complex, and this drama is one of them. I love watching characters heal and grow into themselves. This drama reminds me a lot of My Youth and Hospital Playlist because these dramas show you how beautiful human connection can be, even with people that are not family but grow to care and love like one. Tian Xi Wei and Zhang Ling He have all my attention in this. Honestly, I expect nothing less of the director of Blossom and Butterflied Lover. I can't wait till Xie Zheng becomes actually obsessed. No one plays an obsessed Xie better than Zhang Ling He. Currently, I have two nickels~~ Thanks for listening! Visit my Website: www.dramasology.com for all episodes of The Dramasology Podcast. This is a super light hearted college romance drama, and yet the drama is able to give you likable characters that you want to keep watching. Its not my favorite kind of drama but its surprisingly so sweet to watch. I even came out rooting for Tong and Pae to be a thing... if we ignore the catfishing... Thanks for listening! The second couple, Si Yuan and Li Xiang gave me everything I was looking for, despite their limited screen time. I'm a sucker for a "villain falls in love but won't admit it" trope, so this was everything. Si Yuan makes a bond out of pure necessity and physical attraction to someone he deems beneath him. Yet, he cannot help but care for her despite his efforts not to. The chemistry? Off the charts. The denial? Torture in the best way. Instant fave! Thanks for listening! Very rarely does a Season 2 surpass its prequel but Tonfah and Typhoon's story in Fourever You 2: Beside the Sky has managed to do just that. This is one drama that has managed to tug at my heart strings and leave me desperately wanting more. Typhoon is my baby and I would go to war for him! Thanks for listening! I have soft spot for Japanese drama because of how the stick to the original work, and the way they are able make random everyday life interesting. Countdown to Yes is another one that fits this bill perfectly! Thanks for listening! Visit my Website: www.dramasology.com for all episodes of The Dramasology Podcast. 2025 is over and I look back at my most memorable dramas — from the shows that created full-blown obsessions to the ones that left me disappointed, and everything in between. I’m handing out awards, breaking down my picks, and reflecting on what actually worked for me this year in storytelling, characters, romance, and worldbuilding. My Award categories are: The Pioneer: The Cultural Moment Award Best Picture: The “This Is How You Build a World” Award Biggest Letdown: The “I Expected More” Award Best Action: The “Give Me More Overpowered Male Leads” Award Best Character: The Heart of the People Award The Comfort Drama Award Best Romance: The “Every Look Meant Something” Award Drama of the Year: The “Created an Obsession” Award 2025 gave me a host of dramas to obsess over and I'm sure 2026 will be even better!
