Episode 143: Hanging with Hagan! Eric Hagan that is!
2026/09/15
If you have been to a mountain bike race, festival, or a 4 wheeling event in the southeast you have probably seen or heard of Eric Hagan. The dude is the life of the party, the man on the mic, spitting one liners for days, and keeping the overall stoke for life super high. Eric has been through countless trials and tribulations yet continues to keep the vibes high through it all. The loud mouth of the south also has a new clothing brand that you must check out called South Trail Head (most clever shirts in the market). Which is also where you will normally see Eric hanging out at his local trails in Oak Mountain, AL. You will definitely have some laughs on this one Gnar Gnation. Excited for you to get to know a guy that has achieved his ultimate Gnarvana! 2026/08/11
We were due for another catch up with the Gnar Gnome and The Lawyer on how the summer is wrapping up and what we are looking forward to. So took a break on some guests and discussed latest rides out at Chicopee's new Coyote trails and the Conyers Horse Park/Olympic trails. Also wrapped on the second half of the MTB Mayhem trip at Fire Mtn, discussed some upcoming races, and of course had to cover the latest hot takes in gear. (Yes Alex made some more purchases) So make sure you have a cold one (cause it is freaking hot in GA) and listen in to the good ole fashion round up!
Episode 140: BMX Legend, Brian Fox!
2026/07/23
I met Brian Fox when he was doing his stunt show at the Roswell bike festival and knew I had to have this guy on the podcast. I always knew he was a legend in the BMX scene but the dude has so much more than just X Games Medals and accolades. This dude loves all things bicycle and loaded up with stories. From starting a bike scene in the greater Athens area, to running bike shops, doing stunt shows and competitions around the world, this guy has done it all. On any give day you will see him on the MTB, road bike, gravel bike or bmx shredding in every capacity. So sit back, relax and enjoy the show gnar gnation cause it is about to get really gnarly! https://www.instagram.com/brianfoxbmx/ https://www.statestreetbicycles.com/ https://www.instagram.com/suburbancyclesathens/ https://www.instagram.com/suburbancyclesbuford/ https://www.instagram.com/statestreetbicycles/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdhkcmuCybfvYD7Gnp0pI1w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEeu_Voz-PU&t=7s https://www.foxbmxstuntshow.com/ https://www.instagram.com/foxbmxstuntshow/
Episode 139: MTB Mayhem
2026/07/09
The Gnar Gnomies and Brethren went on an adventure in Western North Carolina. Day one was taking on the classic Tsali Trail system and day two was Fire Mountain in Cherokee, NC. Spoiler alert, the trails were awesome each in their own special, and unique ways. Tsali giving us some fast XC riding with epic views and Fire Mtn the Gnar enduro style riding. This podcast was recorded at Pete in our groups campground, Rose Creek between the Tsali and Fire Mountain days. We got to hear from most of the fellas in the group, and just a fun casual roundtable on a rad dude trip. Hope you enjoy! Use Gnar Gnomies to save 50 percent off your stay at Rose Creek Campground. https://rosecreekcamping.com/
Episode 138: The Lawyer Survives Mudbound!
2026/06/25
Not only did he survive folks, the dude thrived. We think The Lawyer has found his new true passion of offroad cycling sub culture, gravel endurance cycling. You can tell in this episode the fire is lit deep inside his gnarvana soul that he yearns for the champagne gravel and sufferfest. We hear about the insanely gnarly conditions of this years Unbound race and what he went through from start to finish. So throw all that wet riding gear in the dryer, kick back with your favorite bevi and enjoy this episode Gnar Gnation! Episode 137: Sixes Pit is back! Featuring Angel Rivera
2026/06/11
We got Angel on to share his story of bikes, running one of the most successful bike shops in GA, shutting it down after a long good run, taking time off and traveling the country, and then coming back in a different way to the GA bike scene. Great to be able to share a positive story of a bike shop that is actually coming back into the GA market rather than another one shutting down. We discuss how the look and feel of a bike shop is changing to stay alive and what he is doing to try to set himself up for success. About Sixes Pit GarageSixes Pit Garage was built on a simple idea: bikes bring people together. What started years ago as a community bike shop has evolved into a more personal, rider-focused experience centered around quality service, honest communication, and a genuine passion for cycling. Today, Sixes Pit Garage operates from the home front, allowing us to provide one-on-one attention, flexible scheduling, pickup and drop-off options, and a level of care that can be difficult to find in larger retail environments. This is a new chapter for Sixes Pit Garage, but the mission remains the same:Build community. MTB Lawyer is packing up the drop bar gravel bike and ready to hit up one of the largest offroad cycling races in the world Unbound! It is game time for the Gnar Gnomie to make us all proud! We also chat about the Gnar Gnomes new bike, and some latest regular mtb rides. So clip into your SPD pedals and have you a listen Gnar Gnation!
Episode 135: Fat bike racing extraordinaire, Buddy Mixon!
2026/05/14
Buddy does things differently. You can't miss the guy, as he is always rocking his bright red drop bar Trek bike with giant fat tires on it, hitting every bike race on the scene. Doesn't matter if it is a mountain bike race, gravel or road he is there, and on the front with his fat bike. The dude has huge stoke for the sufferfest and exploring anywhere by bicycle. I originally met him at the Coldwater Lifetime mtb race and was taken aback and drawn to his crazy rig and attitude. We unpack his story along with some amazing wins at Leadville, Unbound, Gravel Worlds etc. So lower that tire pressure Gnar Gnation, and get ready for this wild ride! Here are some of his race accolades all on fatbike: Unbound 200 Fatbike category 1stGravel Worlds 150 Fatbike category 1stThe MidSouth 100 Fatbike category 4thColdwater Trail 50kBWR Asheville 100Cohutta 100Homegrown Gravel 100Assault on Currahee 6 Gap CenturyCovington Century Southern Cross6 hours of Yargo Masters category 1st https://www.instagram.com/thezombywooof/ https://strava.app.link/1CO8uq6a52b
Episode 134: Catch up on the "Off-roadish Bike Podcast"
2026/04/30
This is a good ole fashion catch up with the Gnar Gnomie and The Lawyer. Fair warning a lot of drop bar/gravel conversation happens on this one, but hey we always have to change it up am I right?! We discuss the usual latest rides, a new bike purchase, events, latest tech and trends, and of course get the low down \ from The Lawyer on training for Unbound. Make sure your clipless pedals are adjusted and clip in for this one gnar gnation!
Episode 133: The man behind Coldwater, Marcus Tillman!
2026/04/16
Marcus and I have been trading messages for awhile to connect over the podcast, but it is hard to do when he is either always behind an excavator, handlebars, or just on a trail in general. That is why we brought the podcast to his excavator literally. Marcus is the recreational trail director for Anniston, Alabama, but most just know him as "The Trail Guru". The dude has been around the MTB scene a long while and a staple in the Alabama/Southeast riding community. We learn about his personal life history in bikes, discuss old school bikes, e-bikes, riding styles, trails, and how he got so involved in the scene over time. Hope you enjoy! https://www.instagram.com/trailguru1/ https://www.instagram.com/n.e.a.b.a/ https://www.instagram.com/helloanniston/ https://www.facebook.com/marcus.g.tillman https://www.strava.com/athletes/979301?oq=marcus
Episode 132: When in Spain... also special guest Major Dad
2026/03/31
The Gnar Gnome went to Spain for work and had to shred some Gnar while out there. We discuss the hero singletrack, gravel and road riding Costa Brava/Girona has to offer. We also have Major Dad aka David Brannen from the MTB Brethren join us for his story on getting into mountain biking, only doing it for one year, and then riding the Coldwater 50K! Just shows you how fast progression can happen when you get bit by the Gnarvana bug. Lastly catch up with our co-host MTB Lawyer on his latest training for unbound and much more. So find your finest bottle of Spanish wine and kick back to listen to this great episode!
Episode 131: Whitetail Bicycles and Coffee - Ft Shaune Huysamen
2026/03/19
Well Gnar Gnation you know the Gnomies have been getting gravel curious so what better guest to have up next then one of the hottest gravel shops (and xc they carry Allied bikes) and ahem road bikes... in the Southeast, Whitetail! The Gnar Gnome randomly walked into the shop, met Shaune, and just hit it off. They knew a pod would have to ensue. They discuss the shops history and unique branding and experience model, the rad town of Milton, Shaune's personal unique story, his love of overlanding/Land Rover's, nice bikes, coffee, beer and much more. So grab you a fresh Americano and kick back to listen to this rad episode! https://whitetailbicycles.com/ https://www.instagram.com/whitetailbikes/ https://www.instagram.com/whitetailcoffeecomilton/ https://www.instagram.com/whitetailcoffeeco/ https://www.instagram.com/whitetail.overland/
Episode 130: K Shredsta aka Kris Shrestha
2026/03/12
Kris reached out to me awhile back as a fan of the podcast and wanted to ride together. I am glad I took him up on it because I made a good friend, riding buddy and learned a new way to ride my local trail. Really enjoyed have Kris on this podcast because we can both relate a lot to where each other are at in life, family, work, etc. and this episode takes turns in a lot of different directions. I think most dad mountain bikers will really be able to relate and enjoy this one. https://www.instagram.com/foobark/ www.resumeforge.coach
Episode 129: Trail Scouts MTB
2026/02/26
David Chaney who you might remember from Martha's Coffee and past Gnar Gnomies episodes is back with his latest venture Trail Scouts MTB. This new organization is bringing families together by sharing time on the trail. Something I particularly find interesting being a Dad of two. We discuss how too much of sport is all about competition and race and few orgs are designed to get kids and family into adventure. This is a pure play on experience and you will have to listen in to learn more on how he is uniquely bringing this to market.
