Episode 101 rolls in with Kyle Thompson of Alpine Game Calls, and it’s a good one for anyone who appreciates the roots of turkey hunting and the craftsmanship behind the calls we trust. Kyle shares how his passion for the outdoors started early, but turkey hunting became something special when he and his dad decided to learn it together from the ground up. That shared journey shaped not only his approach in the woods, but also the way he builds calls today—focused, intentional, and built for real hunters. We dive into his small-batch diaphragm calls, talking about what separates a quality call from the rest, how he fine-tunes each one, and why consistency and sound realism matter when it’s game time. Living in Florida, Kyle spends his springs chasing the elusive Osceola turkey. The conversation is packed with practical tips and tricks—from calling setups to reading bird behavior—that can help you punch your tag this season. If you’re into turkey hunting, call-making, or just appreciate a good story about chasing birds with family, this episode is one you won’t want to miss.

Episode 100… and this one earned it. I sat down with Isaac Pentecost of Woodhaven Custom Calls and we went deep—no fluff, just real turkey hunting. We talk about the grind of chasing birds on Mississippi public land, where pressure is high and mistakes get exposed fast. Isaac breaks down the struggles that come with hunting educated gobblers, adapting on the fly, and why patience and discipline matter more than ever in today’s woods. We also get into 20 gauge setups—why more hunters are making the switch, how to build a lethal but efficient rig, and what actually matters when it comes to patterning and performance. Strategy is the backbone of this one. From reading terrain and bird behavior to knowing when to push and when to sit still, this episode is all about making smarter decisions when it counts. No shortcuts. No gimmicks. Just hard-earned knowledge from time in the field. If you’ve ever battled public land birds or want to sharpen your approach this spring—this one’s for you.

Not really sure how to even sum this one up… I reached out to Luke Borchelt about a week ago and was honestly blown away when he said yes. Luke, an Anne Arundel County native who’s quickly gaining national attention with his authentic, heartfelt country sound, jumped on the podcast and didn’t hold anything back. We talk about the moment he realized music was more than just a hobby, the road that led him to Nashville, and the story behind his hit track Every Rain, which has racked up over 2.1 million streams on Spotify. Genuinely one of those conversations you don’t take for granted. Huge thanks to Luke for taking the time to be a part of the show. Enjoy it, guys.
