Description

Purposeful Women of God began as both Ashlee and Tabitha were seeking a way to minister to women of all walks of life. As they were praying, the Lord began to impress on Ashlee’s heart to begin a podcast and to ask Tabitha to join her. It didn’t take Tabitha long to commit because God was working in her heart as well. When we say we want to “change our focus from me to THEE,” it’s because we recognize that our world is bombarded with self-help guides, and while these are not all bad, we know that the only way we can have true joy and contentment is to find our purpose and calling that only comes through discovering who we are in Christ. Join us as we begin to change our focus from ME to THEE!

Philippians Series Ep. 9: How to be Content in a Content Driven World
2026/10/06
We live in a content-driven world that is constantly telling us we need more: more money, more experiences, more recognition, more things. With social media giving us a front-row seat to everyone else’s highlight reel, it’s easy to fall into comparison and believe what we have isn’t enough. But in Philippians 4:10–23, Paul shows us a different way to live. Writing from prison, Paul says, “I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” His contentment wasn’t determined by his circumstances, possessions, comfort, or status. It was rooted in Christ. In this final episode of our Philippians series, we look at three truths that helped Paul learn contentment: the Providence of God, the Power of God, and the Provision of God. We’ll also unpack Philippians 4:13 in its proper context and discover that “I can do all things through Christ” isn’t a promise that we can accomplish anything we want. It’s a reminder that Christ gives us the strength to remain faithful and content in every circumstance. In a world constantly encouraging us to compare, consume, and crave more, what would change if we truly believed Christ is enough? Join us as we close out our study of Philippians and challenge ourselves to stop looking at what everyone else has and start recognizing the goodness, provision, and presence of God in our own lives. Philippians Series Ep. 8: The Power of Positive Thinking
2026/09/29
Our thoughts have a powerful influence on the way we live. In Philippians 4:1–9, Paul teaches us that peace doesn’t come from having perfect circumstances, but from learning to pray about everything, think on the right things, and live out what we know is true. In this episode, we talk about replacing worry with prayer, lies with the truth of God’s Word, comparison with contentment, and negativity with gratitude. When we intentionally fix our minds on what is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report, our thoughts begin to shape a life of obedience and peace. Join us as we discover how changing what we dwell on can change the way we live. Philippians Series Ep. 7: Pressing Toward the Mark
2026/09/22
In this episode, we finish Philippians chapter 3 by looking at Paul’s desire to truly know Christ, live in the power of His resurrection, and keep pressing toward the mark. We’ll talk about letting go of the past, pursuing spiritual maturity, choosing godly influences, and living with eternity in mind. Your past doesn’t have to determine your future faithfulness. Keep reaching forward, keep pursuing Christ, and remember where your true citizenship lies. Philippians Series Ep. 6: Trading Self Confidence for Christ
2026/09/15
In Philippians 3:1–9, Paul warns believers to beware of false teaching and putting confidence in the flesh. Although Paul had the heritage, reputation, tradition, and religious credentials, he realized none of it could compare to knowing Christ. In this episode, we’re challenged to let go of self-confidence, selfish desires, and anything keeping us from fully surrendering to Jesus. Salvation isn’t found in what we can do—it is found in Christ alone. God bless from our hearts to yours, Ashlee & Tabitha
Philippians Series Ep. 5: Shine through Faithfulness
2026/09/08
In this episode, we finish Philippians chapter 2 by looking at what it means to shine as lights through obedience and live as examples of faithfulness. Through Paul’s instruction and the examples of Timothy and Epaphroditus, we’re challenged to live out our faith consistently—not just when others are watching, but in the everyday moments. Our obedience, attitude, and faithfulness matter, and when we live differently from the world around us, our lives can point others to Jesus. Philippians Series Ep. 4: Humility & Servant Leadership
2026/09/01
In Episode 4 of our Philippians series, we dive into Philippians 2:1-11 and explore the powerful call to humility and servant leadership. Through the ultimate example of Jesus Christ, we’re challenged to put others before ourselves, serve without seeking recognition, and be willing to be inconvenienced for the sake of others. Join us as we learn what it truly means to have the mind of Christ and lead with a servant’s heart. Philippians Series Ep. 3: Living Worthy of the Gospel
2026/08/25
What does it really mean to live worthy of the gospel? In Philippians 1, Paul shows us that our circumstances don’t have to determine our joy, our faithfulness, or our witness. Even while imprisoned, Paul remained passionate about the gospel, partnered with other believers, proclaimed that Christ be magnified, and persevered through suffering. In this episode, we’ll be challenged to examine whether our everyday words, actions, attitudes, and responses truly reflect Jesus—and learn to see our circumstances as opportunities for God to use us to advance the gospel. Philippians Series Ep. 2: He's Still Working on Me
2026/08/18
In Philippians 1:1–11, Paul shows us how to live with confidence in God even when life is difficult. From his prison cell, Paul demonstrates an attitude of gratitude, Christ-centered affection, appreciation, and spiritual affirmation toward others. Most importantly, Philippians 1:6 reminds us that God is not finished with us—He will complete the good work He began. In this episode, we’ll learn how confidence in God’s work can transform the way we view ourselves, others, and our circumstances. Don’t give up—God is still working on you! Philippians Series Ep. 1: Joy in the Chains
2026/08/11
What would your letter sound like if you were writing it from prison? Complaints? Fear? Frustration? Anger? Now imagine a letter overflowing with joy, gratitude, encouragement, and confidence in Christ. That’s Philippians. In this episode, we’re kicking off a brand-new study through the book of Philippians and laying the foundation for everything we’ll discover along the way. We’ll answer the important questions: Who wrote Philippians? Who was it written to? Why was it written? When was it written? And what was happening in the lives of Paul and the believers at Philippi? Paul wrote Philippians while imprisoned, yet his circumstances couldn’t steal his joy. Throughout this letter, we’ll discover the difference between temporary happiness and the deep, steady, unshakeable joy that comes from knowing Christ. And perhaps one of the biggest questions we’ll ask in this episode is this: If Paul could rejoice in chains, what excuses do we have? As we begin this journey through Philippians, we’ll also challenge ourselves to ask: Am I the kind of Christian who brings joy to the hearts of others when they think of me? Who do you thank God for when you remember them? Let’s begin this study by choosing gratitude, encouraging others, and finding our joy—not in our circumstances, but in Christ. Armor of God Series Ep. 8 - Prayer: The Power Behind the Armor
2026/03/24
In this final episode of our Armor of God series, we focus on the essential element that empowers every piece of armor—prayer. Drawing from Ephesians 6:18, we’re reminded that prayer is our direct line of communication with God, our Commander, and the power source that activates truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and the Word in our daily lives. We share practical ways to strengthen your prayer life, including writing down prayer requests, praying specifically for yourself, cultivating gratitude, and covering your areas of weakness. This episode also challenges believers to stop living partially equipped and instead put on the full armor of God daily. As we reflect on Christ’s sacrifice and the victory He secured, we’re called to stand firm, pray without ceasing, and fight our battles on our knees—not alone, but with the strength of the Lord. It’s time to rise up, fully equipped, and walk in the victory already won. Armor of God Series Ep. 7: The Sword of the Spirit
2026/03/17
In Episode 7 of the Armor of God series, we study the final piece of armor found in Ephesians 6 — the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Unlike the other pieces of armor that protect us defensively, the sword is the believer’s only offensive weapon in spiritual battle. In this episode, we discuss the power of Scripture, how Jesus used the Word of God to defeat temptation, and why it is essential for believers to know and correctly apply the Bible in their daily lives. We also recap the six pieces of armor and challenge listeners to make the intentional choice to put on the full armor of God every day. Armor of God Series Ep. 6: The Helmet of Salvation
2026/03/10
In Episode 6 of the Armor of God series, we dive into the Helmet of Salvation from Ephesians 6:17 and explore why protecting our minds is crucial in spiritual warfare. Just as a Roman soldier would never enter battle without a helmet, believers cannot afford to leave their minds unguarded. Salvation not only secures our eternity through Jesus Christ, but it also protects our thoughts, identity, and mindset while we live in a fallen world. When we fail to “wear” the helmet of salvation, we leave ourselves vulnerable to the enemy’s lies, negative thinking, fear, and spiritual confusion. In this episode, we discuss how renewing our minds through Scripture, prayer, worship, and intentional living helps us stand firm against the enemy’s attacks. The helmet of salvation reminds us who we belong to and gives us the confidence and peace to live daily as daughters of the King. Listen now! Armor of God Series Ep. 5: The Shield of Faith
2026/03/03
In this episode of the Purposeful Women of God Podcast, we continue our Armor of God series by focusing on the Shield of Faith from Ephesians 6:16. We explore what biblical faith truly means and how it serves as protection against the enemy’s “fiery darts” — doubt, fear, discouragement, temptation, and lies. Faith is more than belief; it’s actively trusting God and aligning our lives with His Word, even when we cannot see the outcome. We discuss how faith is foundational to our relationship with Christ, how it extinguishes the attacks of the enemy, and why it must be exercised daily in every season of life. We also highlight the importance of community, reminding listeners that we are not meant to fight spiritual battles alone. When we intentionally raise our shield of faith and link arms with other believers, we stand firm in victory. This episode will challenge and encourage you to examine where you need to trust God more deeply and to live from a position of victory rather than defeat. Armor of God Series Ep. 4: The Shoes of Peace
2026/02/24
In this fourth week of our Armor of God series, we study Ephesians 6:15 and what it means to have our feet “shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.” Using the picture of uncomfortable shoes (yes—even at a Luke Bryan concert!), we explore how life without God’s peace leaves us unsteady and distracted. Just as Roman soldiers wore sturdy sandals for stability and traction in battle, we must wear the gospel of peace so we can stand firm against the enemy and move forward with confidence. Even in the middle of battle, God offers a peace that “passes all understanding.” When we are secure in Christ, we are not crippled by fear or anxiety—we are grounded, ready, and equipped to carry the good news wherever He leads.
