The Count Us In Podcast was born from 3 working drummers meeting at a Drum Camp, and after spending countless hours discussing their struggles and successes with this wonderful instrument, they decided to open the conversation to the wider drumming community. Matt Lacey, Jamie Joiner and Harry Surman are talking about the drumming journey, whilst letting the listener into their practice schedules, gigging preparations and drumming goals. Album Deep Dive: Plans by Death Cab For Cutie (Jason McGerr)
2026/04/09
In this episode, we return to our "Deep Dive" series where one of us presents the others with an album to listen to top to bottom, and we dive deep on the drummer behind the album, the drum parts, the sounds, production and songwriting. With Matt not joining us for this episode, Jamie and Harry chat about one of Jamie's favourites, "Plans" by Death Cab For Cutie. Released in 2005, and their first major label record, this album progresses the bands sound whilst still referencing their indie roots. Jason McGerr delivers more incredibly musical yet complimentary drum parts across the album.
