Today, we will talk about American culture a little bit – I am sure you have seen this…thing (very creative) in American movies, but maybe you have never really understood what it is. You know when you watch a university movie and see those big houses full of American college students, usually with Greek letters on the front? There are parties, people wearing T-shirts with names like Alpha or Sigma, and everyone seems to know what they mean. Well, there is a good chance you are looking at a fraternity or sorority. Today, I want to talk about something that can be quite confusing when you are learning English: English levels. You have probably heard people say, “I am B1,” or “I need B2 for my job,” or maybe someone told you that you are somewhere around A2, and you thought, “Okay, but what does that mean?” What is the difference between A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2? Today I want to talk about something that might seem completely unrelated to language learning at first. Exercise. And sleep. Because when we think about improving our English, we usually think about studying vocabulary, listening to podcasts, doing grammar exercises or speaking with someone.
