What do you do when you've made a mistake and more work is stacked up behind it? Dallas of Geek Devotions ran into that on day four of Inktober, the daily ink drawing challenge, when gel pen ink bled through the paper and left a green blotch on the other side of the page. He figured he'd wrecked the whole book. Dallas reads Romans 8:28 and Jeremiah 29:11 and asks what changes when we stop freezing up in fear. 💬 Question of the Week: Are you doing Inktober this year? How's it going? And if you use gel pens, I need tips. 📖 Read the full post: [ADD BLOG POST LINK] ▶️ Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Lb8tKhJz0Z8 🎪 We'll be at the Anime & Cosplay Shindig in West Monroe, LA the first week of November! Five books. One story. And it was never really about Katniss. This week we're looking at how The Hunger Games echoes something a lot older: the way scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, has been telling one singular story about God's love for you the whole time. Most people don't fail Inktober. They just run out of steam around day 12 and quietly stop posting. In this episode of Geek Devotions, I walk through the exact prep work I do before picking up a pen: choosing a medium, building a color story, and testing my tools so I don't get burned halfway through the month. Being free from something doesn't mean it stops trying to pull you back. Ever feel like your gifts don't measure up to someone else's? In 2017, Power Rangers and the Justice League crossed paths in a Boom! Dallas admits it: he's not good at Street Fighter 6, and he's grinding the ranked ladder anyway. But there's a catch — he's actually learned to enjoy losing, because every loss is a chance to see what needs to change. Summer got busy fast, and Celeste found herself feeling as chaotic on the inside as her schedule looked on the outside. In this devotion, she gets honest about what happens when good things pile up all at once, and walks through two scriptures, Exodus 33:14-15 and Isaiah 26:3, that reframe peace as something you choose rather than something you feel. It's a short, personal reminder that even good busyness can quietly pull your focus off God if you let it. 📖 Scriptures referenced: Exodus 33:14-15, Isaiah 26:3 🎪 We'll be at Geek'd Con in Shreveport, Louisiana this August!
