Matt’s dad is back for a visit and, surprise surprise, he still kinda sucks. Jason gets some miles on his wheels, but romance is still pretty tricky for him. The real highlight of this episode is Landry helping Tim pass his English class. Now where did I put my Crucifictorious band shirt? Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

Lyla is the target of bullying at school, even from her so-called friends; and, Matt & Julie’s dating life makes things tough for Coach and Tami. Meanwhile, Lex nearly makes Brian spit out his coffee; but good news, you (and Brian’s computer) are safe and sound here on Sorkin’ In It. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

An episode of Friday Night Lights called “Full Hearts” can’t lose. Smash’s secret is getting less secret. Coach Taylor isn’t happy with quarterback girlfriends — either Jason Street’s, or QB1 Matt Saracen’s… since Matt is dating Coach’s daughter Julie. Brian and Lex have clear minds, so join them as they go Sorkin’ In It. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

It’s time for Crossing The Line. Jason finally asks Lyla point blank: Is your name Lyla or Tyra, I can never remember? No, he asks her if she’s cheating on him with Riggins. (“Yes.”) Plus Matt asks Julie Taylor out. Coach and Tami are thrilled, is a lie I just wrote in this episode description. Sound confusing? Don’t worry. Brian and Lex are here. We’ll all go Sorkin’ In It together. (And to think, you were worried this was a show all about football‽) Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

It’s homecoming! Which isn’t surprising, since this episode is called “Homecoming”! Coach invites Jason to the game, assuming Jason can free up time from stressing about whether Lyla and Riggins are up to something. (Spoiler: They are.) Smash sweats a college scout. And Tyra and Billy throw a party. Will this episode be a home run or a double fault? SPORTS! Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

Brian’s not a fan of the name of this episode, but that doesn’t mean the episode is bad. Lex and Brian do agree that Landry is the best and Coach Taylor was being a butt. Note: Lex’s audio is a little weird in this ep, which is perhaps the biggest accidente. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

Coach Taylor’s still struggling with that perennial debate: Voodoo, or the quarterback who ISN’T a colossal jerk. Tough call. Meanwhile, Jason’s less than thrilled about all the time Lyla’s spending with Riggins. But you’ll relish the time you spend with us, as we Sorkin’ through Friday Night Lights. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

There’s a new new quarterback in town, and Matt Saracen isn’t thrilled. But Buddy is. Coach is throwing a party, or really, asking Tami to do so… with only two days to plan it. And Jason Street is in denial. Where are we? Square in the middle of Sorkinville, USA: Dillon, Texas. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

You can’t win ‘em all. And the Panthers don’t. Meanwhile, Lyla tries to convince Jason he’ll walk again. And Coach makes his players run drills in the rain. Honestly, this time around… we’re Soakin’ In It. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

Matt Saracen has a grandma. And a job. Oh, and he’s now officially QB1, after Jason Street learns he will never walk again. Lyla can’t stop visiting Jason, but Tim won’t even start. And Coach Taylor has a lot of pressure. But with the clear eyes of Lex and Brian guiding you through, dear listener, you can’t lose. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

After covering all of Sorkin’s films, we moved to TV with The Newsroom, Studio 60, and Sports Night. Now, there’s only one show left to cover, with perhaps Sorkin’s finest and enduring work yet: Friday Night Lights. We start with the pilot, meeting a whole bunch of characters, and Lex is deeply curious about whether Brian will like the show or regret signing up for yet another season. Find out the answer and enjoy a new theme song. It’s Season 5 of Sorkin’ In It. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

The team is clearly eyeing their future while the fate of the network lies in the balance. Rebecca returns, Natalie and Jeremy are back with full hearts in orbit around each other, and Clark Gregg is there with his inexplicable sideburns. It’s the final episode of Sports Night; but, don’t worry friends, it’s not the final episode of Sorkin’ In It. Want to know what we’re doing next? Stick around. This episode is can’t miss. The future? Can’t lose. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

In this, the penultimate episode of Sports Night and the current season of Sorkin’ In It, we start with a “big honkin’ doofus.” That doesn’t relate to the plot, but we just love saying it. The gang’s at the bar meeting strangers and pondering the future — of the network, of the show, of their lives. These are desperate times — and Natalie’s not wearing socks, so who knows what will happen next! Whatever the future, Brian and Lex will be Sorkin’ In It. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

Natalie has a job interview with Saturday Night Live. Tension at the studio builds as everyone worries about the future of the network. I don’t think you should be worried, though. Sure, there may be bells. There may be a siren. But Lex and Brian will be with you every step of the way. Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.

Dan’s working to patch things up with everyone while he and Jeremy host a Seder for the team. Meanwhile, Casey’s figuring out his top favorite movies. Lex and Brian discover some overlap in their top movies too, but we’re best buds, so no need to patch anything up. Right Lex? … Lex? Hosts Lex Friedman and Brian Warren.
