7.82 The Simple Life: Faith Reynolds | Slowing Down Without Falling Behind
2026/10/26
I am really excited about today’s episode because I feel like this is a topic that so many of us can relate to. We are busy! There is always something that needs to be done, somebody that needs us, another text to answer, another thing on the schedule and sometimes it just feels like if we slow down, we’re going to get behind.
But today we’re going to talk about “Slowing Down Without Falling Behind,” and I have the privilege of introducing you to Faith Reynolds, and I am so excited for you guys to get to know her.
Faith is just one of those people who is really fun to be around. She loves to laugh, she has a really fun personality, and she genuinely loves life. But she also has a tremendous amount of wisdom.
One of the things I appreciate most about Faith is that she has this ability to take the truth of God’s Word and make it practical. You know, sometimes we read something in the Bible, and we think, Okay, I know that's true… but what does that actually look like on Tuesday afternoon when I have a million things to do?
Sometimes we can get so caught up in the weeds. We’re worrying about all the little things, trying to keep up, trying to do everything right, and before we know it, we’ve spent all of our energy on things that really weren’t that important in the first place.
So today, Faith is going to help us think through how we can slow down without feeling like we’re falling behind. How do we focus on the things that are important? How do we apply God’s Word to our everyday lives? And how do we stop allowing all of the little things to crowd out the things that really matter?
Are you ready to be encouraged and equipped to abide in Christ? Let’s get into the heart of today’s episode.

7.81 The Simple Life: Vicky Mutchler | Choosing Calm in a Chaotic World
2026/10/19
Ladies, welcome back to Help me Abide. Thanks so much for listening today!
I am thrilled for you to hear our guest today, Mrs. Vicky Mutchler. I have really enjoyed getting to know Vicky, and I think you’re going to enjoy listening to her as much as I did!
Vicky has lived a full life, and when you listen to her, you can just hear her faith. Her love for the Lord and for the Word of God comes through so naturally in the way she talks about life.
And one of the things I really appreciate about Vicky is that she doesn’t just give you a bunch of “Christian answers.” She has a way of taking truth from the Word of God and connecting it to real, everyday life. She’s easy to listen to, very relatable, and I think you’re going to feel like you’re just sitting down and having a conversation with a friend.
Today we’re talking about “Choosing Calm in a Chaotic World.” Because sometimes it feels like chaos is just part of life. There’s always something happening, somebody needing something, and a new problem waiting around the corner.
But as Christians, we don’t have to let the chaos around us become chaos inside of us.
So today, Vicky is going to help us think about what it looks like to choose calm, not because everything around us is calm, but because we know the One who is in control.

7.80 The Simple Life: Tristan Wilkerson | Little Yeses to God
2026/10/12
Hello, ladies! Welcome back to the Help Me Abide podcast!
I am so excited for you to meet our guest today, Tristan Wilkerson. We're going to be talking about the subject: “Little Yeses to God.”
You know, sometimes we think following God means doing something big or making some huge sacrifice. But often, it's those little yeses, those everyday decisions to listen to God, trust Him, and follow His leading, that make such a difference in our lives.
And I think you're really going to enjoy this conversation with Tristan. She also has a special needs daughter, and as we talked about some of our experiences, I was amazed by the similarities in the ways the enemy had attacked us, but also in how God had equipped us and spoken truth into our hearts.
Those similarities were such an encouragement to me and a reminder that God knows exactly what we need. He is faithful, and He can use even the difficult things in our lives to draw us closer to Him.
Tristan had some really meaningful things to share, and I hope this conversation encourages you to look for those little opportunities to say yes to God, even when you don't understand everything He is doing.

7.79 The Simple Life: Esther Peterson | Living on Purpose not Pressure
2026/10/05
Hey ladies! Welcome back to Help Me Abide.
I am really excited about today’s episode because I get to introduce you to my friend, Esther Peterson.
And I think our topic today is something that probably hits home for a lot of us: living on purpose, not pressure. There’s always something else to do. Someone else who needs us. Something we feel like we should be doing better and before we know it, we can spend our whole day just responding to whatever is pressing on us instead of actually living with purpose.
That’s one of the reasons I was excited to have Esther on the podcast.
I’ve always admired Esther’s christian character. She has such a genuine desire to know God. Not just know about God, but to know Him personally and walk with Him. She has a wonderful family whom she loves deeply and If you know Esther, you probably also know that she almost always has a smile on her face.
There’s just something about her that makes the Christian life look attractive. And I really appreciate that because it’s not a fake, picture perfect kind of Christianity. It’s authentic.
She’s someone who is choosing to walk with God in the middle of real life, and today she’s going to talk to us about how we can do that on purpose instead of simply living under pressure.
So if you’re a woman who sometimes feels like you’re just trying to keep up with everything and everybody, I think you’re really going to enjoy this conversation.
Are you ready to be encouraged and equipped to abide in Christ? Let’s get into the heart of today’s episode.

7.78 The Simple Life: Laurie Whitehouse | Finding God in the Middle of the Mess
2026/09/28
Hey ladies, welcome back to Help Me Abide! I’m so glad you’re joining us for another episode of “The Simple Life.”
I think sometimes when we hear the words “the simple life,” we picture a life where everything is calm, organized, and going according to plan. But the truth is, sometimes the simple life is learning how to find God right in the middle of the mess.
And that is exactly what we’re going to talk about today.
Our guest is someone I’ve known for quite a few years. I met Laurie Whitehouse when I was in college. She and her husband were teachers there, and I had the privilege of being under their influence during those years.
But looking back now, there is something I didn’t understand at the time.
I had no idea what kind of burdens Laurie was carrying.
And I think that’s something we can all relate to. Sometimes we look at someone and see their smile, their faithfulness, the way they serve, and we have no idea what they may be carrying behind the scenes.
Laurie has walked through some incredibly difficult things. She doesn’t pretend that life is easy. She doesn’t gloss over the hard things. But she has learned to see God in the middle of them.
And I think you ladies are really going to enjoy this conversation.
So wherever you are today, whether your life feels beautifully put together or maybe it feels a little bit messy right now, I hope you’ll listen closely.
Because God doesn’t just meet us when everything is going well. He meets us in the middle of the mess.

7.77 The Simple Life: Marcy Marsh | Less Striving, More Surrender
2026/09/21
Hey ladies, welcome back to Help Me Abide! I’m so glad you’re here.
This season is all about The Simple Life. Learning how to slow down, focus on what really matters, and most importantly, learning what it looks like to simply abide in Christ.
And today’s conversation is one I think so many of us need.
Have you ever found yourself trying so hard to do everything right? Trying to be a better Christian, a better wife, a better mom, a better friend and somewhere along the way, you realize you’re just striving?
Today, we’re talking about less striving and more surrender.
Our guest is someone who is so easy to listen to because she is just so real. She feels like the kind of friend you could sit down with over a cup of coffee and talk about the things that are actually going on in your heart.
I’m so excited to have Marcy Marsh with us today. I know you’re going to enjoy her honesty, her encouragement, and the practical way she brings us back to what really matters.
Because maybe the simple life isn’t about doing more.
Maybe it’s about surrendering more.

7.76 The Simple Life: Natasha Williams | The Blessing of Boundaries
2026/09/14
Hey ladies, welcome back to Help Me Abide! I am SO glad you're here, because today we are kicking off a brand new season.
This season is called The Simple Life, and you guys, I am so excited about this one. Over the next few weeks, we're going to be digging into what it actually looks like to live simply, on purpose, for the Lord. We're gonna be asking the hard questions like, what are my actual priorities? Biblically speaking, what should I be chasing after? What is my purpose in this season of my life? Not the purpose I think I should have, but the one God's actually called me to.
And I cannot think of a better way to kick this season off than with today's guest.
My guest is Natasha Williams, and honestly? I've been thinking about this conversation for days. It's one of those ones that just stays with you.
Natasha's here to talk with us about something I think so many of us need to hear right out of the gate, the blessing of boundaries. And I know, I know, for some of us that word "boundaries" makes us squirm a little. But just wait till you hear how she talks about it.
What I love about Natasha is she's not just teaching this from a textbook. She's lived it. She's got her own walk with God, and honestly, some of the stuff she's stumbled through? It's stuff I have stumbled through too. But she came out the other side, victorious. And now she's just this wealth of wisdom for the rest of us who are still figuring it out.
Are you ready to be encouraged and equipped to abide in Christ? Let’s get into the heart of today’s episode.

B.75 Bonus: Dramatic Intensity VS Consistent Longevity | Jennifer Beil
2026/07/20
Welcome back to Help Me Abide and to our Summer Bonus Season! We are so glad you're here for episode 80 — our final episode of the season.
Before we get into today's lesson, we have some exciting news to share! Season 7 of Help Me Abide, entitled The Simple Life, will be premiering Monday, September 14th. This season is filled with amazing guest interviews and the priceless wisdom these women have to offer, and we simply cannot wait for you to hear it. Stay tuned, you are not going to want to miss it!
But first, let's finish strong. Today's episode is a recording from our home church's annual ladies conference this past April, and I want to be upfront with you — the audio quality on this one is not the best, and I sincerely apologize for that. Even so, I just couldn't bring myself to shelve this message. I truly believe the content is worth pressing through the imperfect sound to get to.
The title of today's lesson is Dramatic Intensity vs. Consistent Longevity. This message was originally given to the teenage girls at our conference, but I believe it applies to every one of us. It speaks to our walks with God and the truth that faithfulness is far more valuable than being impressive.
Are you ready to be encouraged and equipped to abide in Christ? Let's get into the heart of today's final bonus episode.

B.74 Bonus: Friendship and Cookies | Tammy Goddard
2026/07/13
Welcome back to Help Me Abide. I am so glad you have joined us today, because we have another summer bonus episode for you.
This is our fourth of five summer bonus episodes, and today we are sharing a lesson taught by Mrs. Goddard on the topic of friendship. Now, this lesson was taught at a ladies conference nearly twenty years ago, but don't let that fool you. The truths she shares are just as needed, just as relevant, and just as powerful today as the day she first delivered them.
Friend, I believe this message is needed in churches all over the world. We live in a day when it is easier than ever to be connected, and yet so many people, even within the walls of the church, are lonely, hurting, and longing for true friendship. The Word of God speaks directly to this. In John 13:35, Jesus said, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
So today I want to invite you to let these truths penetrate your heart. My prayer is that all of us walk away from this episode determined to be a better friend, a more faithful friend, and a more Christlike friend.

B.73 Bonus: Consider Sarah | Jennifer Beil
2026/07/06
Welcome back to Help Me Abide and to our Summer Bonus Season!
Today I'm bringing you a lesson I had the privilege of sharing at a marriage conference just this past year. Now, fair warning this one is on the shorter side and a little raw, but my prayer is that its truth is worth your time. This lesson is intended especially for married women, so if you are a teenager or a s ingle lady, feel free to pass this one up, we will have something for you in another episode!
Marriage is one of the greatest gifts God gives us, but let's be honest, it is also one of the hardest. It requires patience, sacrifice, forgiveness, and a whole lot of grace. There are seasons that feel sweet and easy, and there are seasons that feel like you are just barely holding on. But I want to encourage you today with this lesson. Because on the other side of that fight is something beautiful, something worth every hard moment you pressed through together.
The title of today's lesson is Consider Sarah.

B.72 Bonus: Worry | Tammy Goddard
2026/06/29
Welcome back to Help Me Abide. I am so glad you've joined us today, because we have a special treat for you, a summer bonus episode that I believe has the power to really help our Christian walk.
Last week, the ladies of our church had the privilege of sitting under a lesson that I haven't been able to stop thinking about. Mrs. Goddard taught on the topic of worry, and friend, if there was ever a timely lesson for the days we are living in, this is it.
Mrs. Goddard is one of my all-time favorite lady speakers. There is a depth and practicality to the way she teaches the Word of God, and I knew the moment she finished her lesson on Sunday that it needed to go further, it needed to reach our listeners.
Whether worry has been a quiet companion you've learned to live with, or a roaring storm that's kept you up at night, I want to encourage you to really pay attention to these truths today. I believe it will be a help to all of us, if we will let it.

2026/06/22
Welcome back to Help Me Abide! We are so glad you're joining us for something extra special: our Summer Bonus Season! Our team is hoping and praying it will be a true blessing to your heart and your walk with the Lord.
Over the next five episodes, you'll be hearing lessons brought to you by two members of our podcast team: your host, Jennifer Beil, that's me, and our podcast facilitator, Mrs. Tammy Goddard. These are teachings that have been prayed over and shared at ladies meetings with women just like you.
Today's episode kicks us off with a lesson I gave at a ladies conference several years ago. I actually had the privilege of sharing a similar message again this year at our home church's ladies conference, but since that one wasn't recorded, we are bringing you this one in its place.
The title of today's lesson is: A Sound Mind and True Love.

6.70 Beauty for Ashes: Julie Dominguez | Meagan's Story, God's Glory
2026/04/27
Today’s episode is a tender and meaningful one. We’re joined by Julie Dominguez, a woman whose story carries both deep sorrow and quiet strength. Julie opens her heart to share about the loss of her teenage daughter, Meagan, and what she has learned through the long journey of grief.
I just want to say before we start how much I admire Julie’s willingness to be so open about something so painful. Grief is such a personal thing, and yet she has been willing to let others into that journey. Through her story, you really see who God has been to her in those darkest moments, and also how the people around her helped walk alongside her through that pain.
One thing that stood out to me so much in talking with Julie is just her huge mom heart. Her love for Meagan is so evident. It’s been many years since Meagan went to heaven, but you can tell it still feels so fresh to Julie. That kind of loss is not something you ever truly get over, it just still really hurts.
Before we start, I do have a special request. If you knew Meagan, would you send us a message and share your favorite memory of her, or maybe your favorite thing about her? I think that would be such a sweet way for us as listeners to encourage Julie and remind her how loved Meagan still is.
I know this conversation will be a help and encouragement to so many of you. Are you ready to be encouraged and equipped to abide in Christ? Let’s get into the heart of today’s episode.

6.69 Beauty for Ashes: Ashley Yancey | High-Risk Faith
2026/04/20
Today we’re joined by our guest, Ashley Yancey, who is going to share her story of walking through rare and unusually difficult pregnancies and how God has met her in those hard places.
One of the sweetest parts of this episode is the connection to someone many of you may remember. Ashley is the granddaughter of Frieda Cowling, who we had the honor of interviewing back in episode 63. If you haven’t listened to that one yet, I would really encourage you to go back and hear it. To hear how Friedas granddaughter has grown up to trust God, standing firm in her faith through her own trials, is a beautiful testimony to a lasting spiritual legacy.
I’ve been so encouraged by Ashley. She has such a grateful heart and such a sweet, gentle spirit. It’s so evident that she has taken hold of that baton of faith and is running her race with purpose.

6.68 Beauty for Ashes: Katy Moffitt | Out of Darkness into his Marvellous Light
2026/04/13
This season, Beauty for Ashes, has been about remembering that God doesn’t waste anything. He meets us right in the middle of our brokenness and if we let Him, He slowly, faithfully brings something good out of it.
Today’s episode is with my sweet friend, Katy Moffitt, and I’m just really excited for you to hear from her. Katy shares her story of coming out of some really dark, heavy and painful places and being brought into God’s marvelous light through salvation.
One of the things I admire most about Katy is her humility. She’s so willing to own her own struggles and be real about her journey, and it makes what she shares feel really practical and helpful. She’s also just really easy to listen to. There’s a sweetness about her that I think you’ll pick up on right away.
Katy is a quality lady, and I know this conversation is going to encourage you, no matter what season you’re in.
Several times in this episode we talk about the idea of putting God on trial.
When we go through struggles, one of our first reactions as humans is to ask “why.” We look for someone or something to blame, and often, we feel anger. I’ll be the first to admit—I’ve been there. I’ve felt those same emotions and taken those same actions.
But I can also tell you this: the moment I began to accept God’s sovereignty, and to see my struggles as part of His perfect will, something started to change. That’s when I began to heal. That’s when I was able to move forward.
The beauty, though, doesn’t come right away. It comes when we take ownership of our part in the struggle.
If our hardship is the result of sin, then we have to be willing to confess, repent, and do the work to make things right.
And if our struggle is something beyond us, something allowed by God, then we’re called to trust. To believe that His ways are better than our ways.
That’s not easy. Believe me, I know.
But when we get to that place, that’s when beauty begins to rise from the ashes.
Are you ready to be encouraged and equipped to abide in Christ? Let’s get into the heart of today’s episode.
