What are Christians actually hoping for when we talk about heaven and eternal life? In the final sermon of This Enchanted World, we look ahead to where the story of Scripture is ultimately going. Sam explores a hope not of escaping this world, but of homecoming, restoration and resurrection. A future that is both more physical and more wonderful than we might imagine. For now, we live in the “already and not yet”, groaning alongside creation as we wait. But Christian hope gives us something to long for: the day when all things are made new and we are finally home with our Lord.

Rhys Duggan at St Barnabas Anglican Church Broadway on Sunday 16th August 2026. What is miraculous about an ordinary Sunday gathering? What happens when Gods people meet together? The Church is a people in whom God dwells. Rhys helps us to see how having an individual and consumeristic lens impacts how we experience Church, helping us to see that the Church is not a product to be consumed, it a story about Jesus creating a new community, his family. What is miraculous about a Sunday gathering? That Jesus has reconciled us to God and too each other, bringing peace. Lets not let the familiar disguise that majestic. Listen to this sermon and be challenged to think differently when you attend Church next week and thereafter. Will you ask "Is this Church right for me?" or will you see the miraculous and ask "What is God doing among us?"
