Confession: I Gained Weight Without Realizing It…
2026/10/21
Send us Fan Mail Have you ever gained weight without really realizing it was happening? One day, you look up and realize that somewhere along the way, your habits have changed, your consistency has slipped, and the things you used to do without thinking have slowly fallen off your radar. That's exactly what happened to me… In this episode, I'm getting vulnerable about something that's a little uncomfortable to admit: I gained weight without realizing it, and I found myself doing the very thing I help my clients learn how to avoid. I'm sharing the habits I started slipping on, the four big excuses I began making for myself, and how those seemingly small decisions added up over time. But I'm not stopping at what went wrong. I'm also walking you through the specific habits I got back to, how I returned to the routines that support my health, and what I'm doing differently to maintain them moving forward. Because here's the thing: knowing what to do doesn't mean you'll always do it. Life gets busy, priorities shift, and it's surprisingly easy to convince yourself that the little things don't matter that much. But those little things do matter. And you don't have to wait until things feel out of control to do something about them. I'm sharing this story because I want you to know that you don't have to be perfect to make progress, and a setback doesn't erase everything you've learned. The goal isn't to never get off track. It's to recognize when you have, stop making excuses, and get back to the habits that help you feel your best. If you've been telling yourself that you'll get back to your healthy habits eventually, this episode is your reminder that you can start making different choices today. — 💌 Connect With Laura: Website: Health Coach for Teachers & Busy, Working WomenInstagram: LAURA B. | Teacher turned Health Coach | Podcaster🎙️ (@laura.b.healthy) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok: Laura B. | Health Coach (@laura.b.healthy) | TikTok— Topics covered in this episode: accidental weight gain, slipping habits, health and wellness consistency, excuses and accountability, getting back on track, sustainable healthy habits, weight maintenance, all-or-nothing mindset, personal growth
Should You Push Through or Should You Rest? Two Questions to Help You Decide.
2026/10/14
Send us Fan Mail Is it time to Lock In or time to Chill Out?? This episode will help you decide! Have you ever told yourself you were going to go to the gym, make a healthy dinner, or do something good for your health, only to get to the end of the day feeling completely exhausted and wondering if you should push through or give yourself a break? Or maybe the holidays are approaching, your schedule is packed, and you're wondering if you should just take the rest of the year off from focusing on your health and start fresh in January. I've got two questions for you to start asking yourself in these moments to help you decide whether it's time to lock in and follow through or give yourself permission to rest. In this episode, we're talking about how to navigate those moments when you're torn between sticking to your goals and giving yourself some grace. I'll help you think through the end-of-year struggles that come with busy schedules, holiday candy, and the temptation to put your health on the back burner until January. But we'll also talk about the everyday decisions you face when you're tired, unmotivated, and questioning whether following through on your plans is really what you need. Because sometimes, the best thing you can do for yourself is push through and follow through on what you said you'd do. Other times, the best thing you can do is rest. The tricky part is knowing which one you need in that moment. Tune in to learn the two questions you can ask yourself to make that decision with more confidence, so you can stop second-guessing yourself and start making choices that actually support your health. — 💌 Connect With Laura: Website: Health Coach for Teachers & Busy, Working WomenInstagram: LAURA B. | Teacher turned Health Coach | Podcaster🎙️ (@laura.b.healthy) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok: Laura B. | Health Coach (@laura.b.healthy) | TikTok— Topics covered in this episode: healthy habits, consistency, motivation, self-care, rest and recovery, exercise motivation, healthy eating, holiday habits, end-of-year health goals, all-or-nothing mindset, mindset shifts, goal setting
“You Look Like You’ve Lost Weight!” (The Habits Behind My Client’s Success)
2026/10/12
Send us Fan Mail One of my clients got a compliment at the grocery store this week that made me SO proud of her! Someone who works there told her that she looks like she’s lost weight, and I couldn’t wait to brag on her a little bit. In this short episode, I’m sharing some of the things she’s been doing to make progress with her health, from drinking water to making changes with her food and exercise habits. No extreme measures. No complicated plan. Just simple habits that are adding up to real results! I want you to hear her story because I know how easy it is to think you need to do something drastic to see changes in your body. But often, it’s the small, consistent actions you take every day that make the biggest difference. If you’ve been feeling frustrated with your own progress or wondering whether the little things you’re doing are actually making a difference, let this be your reminder that they are worth celebrating. Keep showing up for yourself, keep working on those habits, and give yourself the opportunity to see what happens when you stay consistent! — 💌 Connect With Laura: Website: Health Coach for Teachers & Busy, Working WomenInstagram: LAURA B. | Teacher turned Health Coach | Podcaster🎙️ (@laura.b.healthy) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok: Laura B. | Health Coach (@laura.b.healthy) | TikTok— Topics covered in this episode: client success story, weight loss, healthy habits, drinking water, nutrition, exercise, consistency, sustainable weight loss, health and wellness
I Still Get Food Noise… Here’s How I Navigate It
2026/10/07
Send us Fan Mail What do you do when food noise shows up? Because here's something I want you to know: I still experience food noise too. I know that might surprise you, especially if you've been listening to me talk about healing your relationship with food and quieting food noise for a while. But that's actually the point of today's episode. I recently found myself navigating two different situations where food noise popped up. One happened while I was at a friend's house, and the other happened while I was driving home after going out to lunch. In both situations, I had a choice to make. And I didn't make the exact same choice in each situation. That's important. Because healing your relationship with food doesn't mean you'll never want something just because it's there. It doesn't mean you'll never think about food when you're not physically hungry. And it certainly doesn't mean you'll suddenly become someone who never experiences food noise. The goal isn't to never have food noise. The goal is to know what to do when it shows up. In this episode, I walk you through both of these real-life situations and explain what I was thinking, how I determined what I actually needed, and why I chose to respond differently in each moment. I also share why I intentionally tell you about moments like these. I don't want you walking away from my podcast thinking that I've somehow "figured it all out" and never struggle with food again. That's not real life and it's not the goal I'm teaching my clients to pursue. Instead, I want you to see what it can look like to have food noise without immediately feeling like you've failed. Sometimes the answer is to eat the thing. Sometimes the answer is to recognize that the food noise is a clue and choose something different. The skill is learning how to tell the difference. If you've ever thought, "But what am I supposed to DO when the food noise actually happens?" this episode is for you. — 💌 Connect With Laura: Website: Health Coach for Teachers & Busy, Working WomenInstagram: LAURA B. | Teacher turned Health Coach | Podcaster🎙️ (@laura.b.healthy) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok: Laura B. | Health Coach (@laura.b.healthy) | TikTok— Topics covered in this episode: food noise, food cravings, relationship with food, emotional eating, intuitive eating, food freedom, hunger cues, food choices, overcoming food noise, healthy habits, mindset, eating without guilt, navigating cravings
"Trying" Is the Reason You're Inconsistent (Tough Love Tuesday)
2026/10/06
Send us Fan Mail How often do you say, “I’m going to try to…”? Try to work out. Try to eat better. Try to stop eating so much sugar. Try to drink more water. It sounds harmless, but there’s a problem with the word try: it leaves the door wide open for an excuse. In this short but honest tough-love episode, I’m challenging you to pay attention to the way you talk about your goals and to stop giving yourself an easy out before you’ve even started. In this episode, I teach you what to do instead of saying, "I'm going to try." --- This is your quick reminder that sometimes you don’t need another strategy, another plan, or more motivation. You just need to make a decision and follow through. — 💌 Connect With Laura: Website: Health Coach for Teachers & Busy, Working WomenInstagram: LAURA B. | Teacher turned Health Coach | Podcaster🎙️ (@laura.b.healthy) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok: Laura B. | Health Coach (@laura.b.healthy) | TikTok— Topics covered in this episode: trying vs. deciding, goal setting, excuses, follow-through, mindset, commitment, healthy habits, consistency, tough love
Oops, I Binge Ate Again… (& How I Got Out of That Cycle)
2026/09/30
Send us Fan Mail Think about all the times you started your day with: “I’m serious today. I’m not eating sugar. I’m staying on track.” And then somehow, by the afternoon, you’re standing in the kitchen eating the very thing you promised yourself you wouldn’t? Then comes the guilt. The frustration. The “Why did I do that AGAIN?” And the promise that tomorrow will be different. I know this cycle because I lived it. For a long time, I would wake up each morning determined not to eat candy or sugar that day. I genuinely believed I was going to make a different choice. But almost every afternoon, I would find myself binge eating the very foods I had spent the entire day trying to avoid. And then I’d start the cycle all over again the next morning. Oops… I did it again. In this episode, I’m taking you into what that experience actually felt like for me, not just the eating, but the constant mental battle that happened before, during, and after it. And more importantly, I’m sharing some of the things I wish I had understood sooner. Because if you’re stuck in a cycle of restricting certain foods, thinking about them constantly, eventually giving in, overeating or binge eating, feeling guilty, and then promising yourself you’ll “be better tomorrow,” the answer probably isn’t to try harder. There may be something underneath the cycle that needs your attention. I’ll share a couple of things you can start doing right away if you recognize yourself in my story, so you can begin stepping out of the “restrict → crave → binge → regret → restrict” cycle. — DON’T FORGET: if you’re a new listener, make sure you subscribe to the show so that you don’t miss upcoming episodes!  Also, a rating and review would truly just make my day. Staying Consistent with Healthy Habits During Busy Seasons
2026/09/25
Send us Fan Mail Sometimes life is just…a lot. Work gets busy. The kids need you. Your calendar fills up. Your normal routines disappear and suddenly your health is the thing that gets pushed to the bottom of the list. If that’s where you are right now, this episode is your reminder that you don’t have to give up on your health just because life is busy. You also don’t need to do everything perfectly. In this episode, I’m encouraging you to stop thinking about your health in an all-or-nothing way and instead focus on what you can do in this particular season of life. Because sometimes taking care of yourself looks like a full workout and a perfectly planned week. And sometimes it looks like drinking more water, eating a protein-filled breakfast, taking a 10-minute walk, or simply making one choice that supports you instead of saying, “I’ll start again when things calm down.” Your health doesn’t need to be perfect to matter. And you don’t need to wait for life to slow down before you start taking care of yourself. — 💌 Connect With Laura: Website: Health Coach for Teachers & Busy, Working WomenInstagram: LAURA B. | Teacher turned Health Coach | Podcaster🎙️ (@laura.b.healthy) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok: Laura B. | Health Coach (@laura.b.healthy) | TikTok— Topics covered in this episode: busy seasons, healthy habits, consistency, all-or-nothing mindset, realistic wellness, self-care, health goals, habit building, busy women
Hard Truth: If You Keep Doing the Same Thing, You’ll Keep Getting the Same Result
2026/09/23
Send us Fan Mail What if the very things that make you feel comfortable are the things keeping you from reaching your health goals? In this episode, I’m referencing a children’s book about a little tree who refuses to let go of his leaves because they’re familiar and comfortable. The problem? He can’t grow. And eventually, he finds himself in the exact same place, season after season, because he keeps holding onto the very thing that’s keeping him stuck. Sound familiar? Sometimes we do the same thing with our health. We keep choosing the habits, routines, thought patterns, and behaviors that feel safe and comfortable…while expecting a different result. We tell ourselves we’ll change when we feel more motivated. When life calms down. When we’re more confident. When we’re ready. But growth often requires doing something that feels uncomfortable first. In this episode, we’ll talk about what The Little Tree can teach us about your health and wellness journey, and why taking a chance on yourself might mean finally letting go of something you’ve been holding onto for far too long. At the end of the episode, I’ll give you a simple challenge: identify one thing you’ve been doing over and over again that isn’t getting you where you want to go…and consider what might happen if you were willing to do something different. You don’t have to completely reinvent your life. You just have to be willing to let go of something that’s keeping you from growing. — Have a topic you want covered in an episode? The Moment I Realized My Relationship with Food Was Healing
2026/09/16
Send us Fan Mail What if the proof that your relationship with food is healing doesn’t look like a big transformation? What if it’s one tiny moment that makes you stop and think, “Wait… I would have NEVER done that before.” In this episode, I’m sharing a couple of stories from when my relationship with food was really broken (moments when food controlled my thoughts, my choices, and honestly, way too much of my life). But then I’m sharing the first moment when I realized something was actually changing. It wasn’t dramatic. I didn’t wake up one day and suddenly have a perfect relationship with food. It was a small moment. And that moment showed me that all of the work I had been doing was actually working. If you’re frustrated right now because you feel like you’re trying so hard but aren’t seeing the changes you want yet, I want you to hear this episode. Because sometimes healing happens quietly before you even realize it’s happening. Keep going. The small moments matter and one day, you might look back and realize just how far you’ve come. — Ready to get organized?? 2026/09/13
Send us Fan Mail You already know what to do. So why is it still so hard to actually do it? If you’ve ever thought, “I KNOW what I should be eating. Why can’t I just do it?” ... I made this episode for you. Because your problem probably isn’t a lack of nutrition information. It’s not that you need another diet telling you what you can and can’t eat. And it definitely isn’t that you need to “try harder.” The real work is figuring out why you can know exactly what to do and still find yourself giving in to food noise, sugar cravings, emotional eating, or the urge to keep eating when you aren’t even hungry. That’s the work we do inside the Food Noise Bootcamp. You’ll learn how to recognize what’s making your food noise loud, understand the patterns behind it, and build habits that work in your actual life, not some imaginary version of your life where you have unlimited time, energy, and motivation. Because the goal isn’t perfection. The goal is to stop feeling like you’re constantly fighting yourself around food. If you’ve been thinking about joining the Food Noise Bootcamp, don’t overthink it. What comes first: Weight Loss or Healing Your Relationship with Food?
2026/09/09
Send us Fan Mail What if the reason you keep struggling to lose weight has less to do with your food choices and more to do with your relationship with food? In this episode, I’m walking you through two very different versions of the same day: the woman who prioritizes weight loss before healing her relationship with food, and the woman who learns to heal her relationship with food first and then uses those skills to pursue sustainable weight loss. We’ll look at what happens when you’re constantly restricting, labeling foods as “good” and “bad,” fighting food noise, relying on willpower, and starting over every time you feel like you’ve messed up. And then we will explore how different life can look when you stop treating food as the enemy. Because sustainable weight loss isn’t about becoming better at dieting. It’s about becoming someone who can make healthy choices without needing to be perfect. — JOIN THE FOOD NOISE BOOTCAMP TODAY: https://bhealthyhabits.com/food-noise-bootcamp  — Ready to get organized?? Eating Foods You Actually Like While Losing Weight with Past Clients, Justin and Nicole
2026/08/26
Send us Fan Mail What if losing weight didn’t require giving up the foods you love, obsessing over every bite, or relying on willpower? In this episode, I’m joined by two very special guests: a husband-and-wife couple who have worked with me through both my group coaching program and 1:1 coaching. And their transformation is about SO much more than the number on the scale. Together, they’ve lost over 30 pounds, but more importantly, they’ve completely changed the way they think about food, exercise, and taking care of themselves. They no longer live with constant food noise. They’ve learned how to eat foods they genuinely enjoy while still making progress. They’re consistently working out, drinking significantly more water, and (perhaps most importantly) they’ve developed a mindset that allows their healthy habits to actually fit into their lives. In this conversation, they share what it was really like to go through the coaching process, what changed for them, and why they believe working with a coach made such a difference. In this episode, we talk about Their lives and relationship with food before coachingWhat made them decide they were ready to do something differentlyThe mindset shifts that changed everything for themHow they went from struggling with food noise to feeling free around foodHow they learned to eat foods they love without feeling like they were “off track”What changed with their exercise habits and consistencyHow something as simple as drinking more water became a natural part of their lifestyleTheir experience working with me in both group coaching and 1:1 coachingWhy accountability and having someone guide you through the process can make such a differenceThe changes they’ve made that they know they can maintain long-termAnd, of course, their incredible 30+ pound combined weight lossWhat I love most about their story is that they didn't just learn how to “be good” long enough to lose weight. They learned how to live differently. They've built habits they actually enjoy. They've changed the way they think about food. They've stopped allowing food to take up so much mental space. And they've learned how to take care of themselves without feeling like they're constantly dieting. That is the kind of transformation I want for every woman I work with. Because the goal isn't to spend the rest of your life trying harder. The goal is to create a lifestyle where taking care of yourself becomes something you know how to do, and something you actually enjoy. If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of starting over, constantly thinking about food, struggling with consistency, or believing you have to be more restrictive to see results, I hope this conversation helps you see what is possible when you stop trying to do it all on your own. You don't need more willpower. You need the right tools, support, and a strategy that actually works for your life. Listen to this episode to hear their story and get a behind-the-scenes look at what can happen when you decide to stop starting over and finally learn how to create lasting change. — I would love to work with you to give you these same results! The Connection Between Your Slow Metabolism and Your Sugar Cravings
2026/08/19
Send us Fan Mail Do you feel like you have a constant battle with sugar cravings? You tell yourself you need more willpower, try to avoid sweets entirely, or promise yourself you’ll “be good” tomorrow… but the cravings keep coming back. What if the problem isn’t your willpower at all? In this episode, we’re talking about the connection between sugar cravings, metabolism, blood sugar, and how well your body is being fueled. Your body is constantly working to maintain energy and balance, and sometimes those intense cravings for something sweet are your body’s way of asking for quick, easily available energy. I’m breaking down why under-eating, skipping meals, restrictive dieting, and building meals that aren’t satisfying enough can all contribute to the cycle of energy crash → sugar craving → quick energy → temporary relief → another craving. I want you to stop seeing your cravings as proof that you have no self-control, and instead, start looking at them as information.
