Why Launching Is So Hard: Quicksand, Paper Tigers, and the Dentist
2026/09/28
Every launch runs on three train tracks — offer creation, funnel building, and audience building and marketing — and you're laying all three at the same time, which is why launching feels so much heavier than it looks on Instagram. I recorded this episode because big launches are everywhere on social right now, and it's easy to assume someone just opened an account, put something up for sale, and made $100K. The truth is, I've been launching for ten years and I still find it hard, so this one is about normalizing the difficulty and untangling the three tracks so you can see which one is actually tripping you up.
The Danger of Taking Action
2026/09/07
Action taking is one of the most valuable personality traits in entrepreneurship — money loves speed, idea to implementation, failing forward — and it's probably a big part of why you're where you are. But in this episode I want to unpack something I'm seeing constantly in coaching: the moment you try to grow, scale, or push through a plateau, that same trait becomes hazardous.
This one's for the fast movers who don't resonate with the perpetual planners, and still can't figure out why they're not where they want to be.
Stop Reinventing The Wheel! The 5 Containers That Each Build a Million-Dollar Business
2026/09/01
A client told me recently that the strategy I gave them was premature — that I couldn't possibly know their business well enough after a 15-minute call to hand them a plan, and honestly, I understand why it looks that way. But what I have that most people don't is the vantage point of hundreds of private clients, and after all of that pattern recognition, I can tell you there are really only five containers that reliably create predictable revenue online: the high-ticket asynchronous coaching model, the weekly live webinar to a $500–$2,000 offer, the webinar to an application for a $2,500–$5,000 program, live launching, and the biweekly paid workshop. In this episode I walk through all five — the pieces and parts that make each one actually work, the price band each one lives in, and the real downside of each — and then I get into what I think is the actual problem: AI will happily generate you a 50-page marketing plan that looks official and is way, way too complicated, and you will build it, because it looks right. The truth is you need to do one thing really well long enough for it to cook — burner on high, not on low while you anxiously watch the pot — and the thing that trips people up is mistaking the simplicity of the strategy for the simplicity of the execution. If you're sitting on a plan you'd never have built without AI writing it for you, this one's for you.
Can You Sell Courses Sustainably?
2026/07/27
Someone DM'd me and asked whether selling courses can ever really be sustainable, and I realized we're all using that word to mean something we never say out loud — what she was actually asking is the mortgage test: can I put this income on a loan application, book the vacation, buy the car, and trust that it won't get snatched out from under me?

What Content Creators & Business Owners Can Learn From Each Other
2026/07/13
My lead pipeline just flipped — for 10 years about 80% of my clients have been business owners, and in the last two weeks it's been about 80% content creators, all because of traction on Instagram. And it got me thinking about how each side is staring at the other with envy: business owners wish they had the creator's reach, and creators wish they had the owner's offers, email list, and body of work. In this episode I make the case that each side is holding exactly half of a complete business — creators have mastered speaking to the masses (a real skill set that takes hours a day, not 15 minutes), and owners have the IP, frameworks, and proprietary mechanisms that survive an algorithm change.
A Personal Update After A Crazy Week!
2026/07/06
This one's personal — I'm unpacking the wild weekend behind me after Jessie Jean gave me a shout-out on her Instagram story and my following jumped from about 17,900 to over 21,600 almost overnight, along with an inbox full of coaching applications I'm still working through. I talk about what it's actually like to be flooded with brand-new people after years of going deep with a smaller, tight-knit community, the free resource I put together to help new followers get to know me fast, and a small real-time experiment I ran between a polished, mathy reel and a raw, unfiltered story that did something I didn't expect.
Consider the Source Before You Follow the Advice
2026/06/30
The worst business advice you'll ever take won't come from a troll — it'll come from someone you hired, polished and confident and completely wrong. In this episode I get into why the things that actually harm your business never look harmful (the cop with the badge still has a gun), why I tell my clients that ideas are guilty until proven innocent, and how to hold two true things at once: you don't want advice from someone who's never lived your life, and a great coach doesn't have to have walked your exact path. Then I give you the actual filter I run before I let anyone change my plan — because confidence is the cheapest thing in the world to fake, and a track record is the hardest.
The Only Wrong Move in Business Is Doing Nothing
2026/06/22
There's exactly one wrong move in business, and it isn't picking the wrong name, launching the wrong offer, or running the wrong marketing strategy — it's doing nothing, and in this episode I make the case that a messy, half-baked, even wrong attempt will always work in your favor over the perfect plan you never execute.
Problem First Building: The AI Workflow Framework That Ends the Dopamine Spiral
2026/06/11
I just wrapped the first in-person AI & Sheep workshop at my farm, and I couldn't let these takeaways leave my brain before I got them on record. The truth is, most people are losing ground to AI, not gaining it — they're in the dopamine pool, working longer, building more, and not seeing a single dollar of return. So before anyone goes another week adding tools and workflows to their life, I want to share the core philosophy I teach: if AI isn't making you more money or buying back your time, it's a distraction. This episode walks through Problem First Building — starting with a specific, rantable problem instead of a vague goal — and the 1-2-3 Framework I use to deconstruct every workflow step by step.
The #1 Thing To Learn From Jessi Jean's Viral Launch
2026/06/03
I recorded this one from my car — a little hat tip to Russell Brunson, who taught me that "in the car" beats "not at all" — because I had something I couldn't wait to break down: the launch my client Jessie Gene just ran on Instagram, and what it actually teaches the rest of us. I met Jessie back in the ClickFunnels Two Comma Club days when I was a head coach and she was running a binge and disordered eating recovery program, and even then she had this rare combination of high standards and magnetic transparency. Fast-forward through her walking away from a 150,000-follower account to start completely over — beating the sunk cost fallacy that traps most people — building a new account to 400,000 followers in five months, and launching her YAP Challenge to hundreds of sales a day on FG Funnels. Here's the thing I want you to take away: a big following does not equal big money, and her conversion rate wasn't even special — six or seven percent, same as everybody else. The difference was that her content drove over 35,000 people to that sales page. So the real lesson is a multiplication problem. It's not marketing plus traffic, it's marketing chops times traffic — and if either number is zero, your launch is zero. This episode is for the marketer who has a great offer and great copy but only a hundred people looking, and for the content creator with the audience but not the marketing skills to monetize it. You need both. Most people have exactly one.
Is Everything Negotiable? The Two Muscles Most People Never Build (with Aryeh Sheinbein)
2026/05/25
This is a candid conversation with friend, client, and business partner Aryeh Sheinbein. I have two real-time negotiations on my desk right now (a post-divorce mortgage refinance the bank told me had only one path, and a $10K non-refundable sheep deposit I'd already mentally written off), and partly because Aryeh is one of those rare people whose default assumption is that almost every "this is the price" is actually an opening position. What started as a casual conversation turned into a working framework — the two negotiation muscles most people never build, and the one filter that tells you which one to use. We get into Aryeh's $20 baseball-card arbitrage at age 12, his 60-day-late home builder, the Walmart end-cap standoff over a $30 pricing error, the Amex deal he settled for fifty cents on the dollar, and his co-investor who keeps asking for discounts — each one demonstrating a different rule. The flip in the episode comes near the end: I assumed "non-refundable" meant the conversation was closed. Aryeh's reframe was that when the other side breaks their part of the deal first, the deposit clause loses some of its teeth — and there's almost always room to open the conversation. By the end of the recording I'd talked myself into emailing the sheep seller. If you're someone for whom negotiation doesn't naturally dawn — if you read "non-refundable" or "this is our price" and just accept it — this episode is going to reframe what you've been leaving on the table.
Action + Ignoring: The Two-Skill Operating System Behind Fast Execution
2026/05/19
This episode started with a client of mine watching me sell out four in-person workshops in three days and asking — completely seriously — how the heck I take action so fast. Her honest answer was that she'd need six to eight business months to put together something similar. So I broke down what's actually happening, and it's not what most people think. Fast execution isn't about being braver, more energetic, or wired differently. It's a two-part skill: action (doing the next thing in front of you) and ignoring (refusing to entertain the other 17 problems at the same time).
What I brought home from the 17th DI mastermind
2026/05/11
I just got back from three days in New Haven at the 17th Digital Insiders mastermind — 40 entrepreneurs in one room, and somehow these events keep getting better than the last one. In this episode I walk you through the keynote from Michael Roderick on aspirational vs. excellence buyers, the member shares from Emily Green on $15 paid workshops, Amber Housley on the 34 webinars it took before hers converted, Aryeh Sheinbein on a deeply personal credit card story, and Brittany Long on delivering a full done-for-you funnel in 60 minutes using Claude. From there I get into my halftime report on what's still working in 2026, the Three Overs framework I taught on day two, and the Get It Done day where we built AI-powered daily sales rituals — and watched the most skeptical person in the room close a $1,200 sale within 60 minutes of building hers. By the end of three days, three themes kept showing up: discomfort is the price of growth, AI is infrastructure not a project, and being in a room with the right people compounds everything else. If you've ever wondered what a real mastermind is actually supposed to do for your business — or you want to hear how I'm bringing some of this work to my farm this summer with two-day workshops called AI and Sheep — this is the episode for you.
Tripwire vs. LTO: The Funnel Terms Nobody Actually Explains
2026/04/30
This episode started with a client question — "what's a tripwire?" — that turned into a full breakdown of every low-ticket funnel term the marketing world uses (and misuses). I walk through the difference between a tripwire, which is a low-ticket offer sitting on the thank-you page of your free opt-in, and an LTO, or low-ticket offer, which is that same product when you run traffic directly to it as the first page of a funnel. These aren't the same thing — and confusing them is why so many people declare their offer is broken when it's actually performing completely normally. A 1% conversion rate on a tripwire? Standard. The same offer converting at 3% as a direct-to-ad LTO? Also normal — because Facebook is training itself to find buyers instead of email-givers, and that's a different person. I also cover why you cannot run an LTO without an order bump and at least one OTO, what makes a one-time offer actually a one-time offer (hint: it doesn't have a credit card form), and what Kathy and I call a Paid Lead Maker — the structure that, when built right, can break even or turn a small profit on your ad spend. If you've ever stared at your funnel numbers wondering what went wrong, this episode might completely reframe what you're looking at.
Software Tools vs. Hub Tools — The Distinction Saving Me From Shiny Object Hell
2026/04/21
In this episode, I'm introducing a term I've been using a lot lately — hub tools — and why the distinction between a hub tool and just another piece of software matters more than ever in the age of AI. I spent two years building a knowledge base inside ChatGPT, only to realize I couldn't easily extract any of it. That was the wake-up call. So I'm walking you through the five questions I now ask before I bet on any tool: how long it's been the category king, how easily it integrates into everything, how private and flexible it is, how much time and energy it actually saves me, and how easy it is for my clients and customers to adapt to. I share the six hub tools I've officially settled on (FG Funnels, Google, Obsidian, Zoom, Slack, and Voxer), why Claude is not on that list even though I use it every single day, and how this framework is helping me resist the urge to try every shiny new thing that lands in my feed. If you've been feeling the tool overwhelm — this one's for you.
