Netflix is officially back in its teen drama era, and I'm breaking down everything I loved about Crew Girl! From elite boarding school drama and underdog sports moments to a love triangle that's already dividing us, this show has all the ingredients of our favorite YA dramas. This week on Previously On, I'm diving into Tegan's unexpected move to Eagles Cove, her journey from outsider to the heart of the Easton crew team, and the friendships that made us fall in love with this group. I'm counting down our Top 5 "The Crew Finally Became a Crew" Moments, breaking down the Cam vs. Josh love triangle (and revealing which team I'm on!), and discussing all those season finale cliffhangers. Plus, I'm talking Josh's redemption arc, Tegan's complicated family drama, the future of Easton's girls' rowing team, and everything I'm hoping to see in Season 2. Because who knew a show about rowing could have us this emotionally invested in the stroke seat?! Grab your oars, pick your team, and let's get into it! In this episode of Previously On, Jillian is joined by Tyler to talk all about Prime Video’s The Love Hypothesis, a STEM rom-com that takes fake dating and awkward (but hot) scientists finding love, and turns it into exactly the kind of movie we love talking about. Jillian gets into reading the book, its Reylo fanfic origins, and why she didn't know what to make of the movie at first, but it ended up winning her over in the end, and Tyler gives his official take as someone who, according to Jillian, looks like he works in a lab. Then we’re counting down our Top 5 Incorrect Hypotheses because these smart scientists get a lot wrong. We break down Olive’s feelings for Jeremy, everyone putting Tom Benton on a pedestal, the discovery that Dr. Evil might actually have a heart, and the biggest scientific error of them all: Olive believing the dating was ever really fake. We also rank some of this year’s rom-coms and talk about where The Love Hypothesis lands in the fake-dating hall of fame. 00:00:00 Reenactment of End Speech 00:04:11 Intro to pod 00:06:52 Book and Fan Fiction 00:16:32 Tyler's Takes 00:31:15 Top 5 Incorrect Hypotheses Thank you to Matt Buechele (@mattbooshell) for creating our theme song. The Pogues have officially reached the end of the road. Jillian is joined by Claire to break down the fifth and final season of Outer Banks and say goodbye to one of our favorite teen dramas. After five seasons of treasure hunts, near-death experiences, international adventures, and some truly unhinged decisions, did the series stick the landing? We look back at our Season 5 predictions (including Jillian’s slightly delusional Kiara and Rafe agenda), discuss how the show handled the aftermath of JJ’s death, and why this finally felt like Kiara’s season. Plus, we get into Rafe’s full-circle storyline, John B. and Sarah’s happy ending, the return of familiar faces, the Royal Merchant gold coming back into play, and why the final hurricane was the perfect way to bring the story back to its Season 1 roots. Then, for our final Outer Banks Top 5, we’re counting down the Top 5 Full-Circle Moments We Loved, from bringing back Pogues vs. Kooks to storylines we thought the show had forgotten completely. We also rank all five seasons and talk about why, no matter how wild this show got, the friendship, found family, romance, and absolute chaos kept us coming back. Five seasons. Six years. Countless stolen boats. Somehow even more treasure. We’ll miss you, Pogues. And don’t worry — if that Outer Banks prequel happens, we’ll be back. 00:00:00 Intro to pod 00:01:09 OBX S5 Predictions Revisited 00:05:37 Season 5 Discussion 00:24:27 Top 5 Full-Circle Moments 00:57:11 Seasons Ranked Thank you to Matt Buechele (@mattbooshell) for creating our theme song. We’re back in Beverly Hills for the absolutely unhinged final stretch of The Shards season 1! Jillian is joined by her husband Tyler to break down Episodes 6–9, from homicidal Homecoming festivities and the world’s most brutal friend-group game to Brett and Robert becoming VERY heated rivals and a finale that somehow leaves us with even more questions than answers. We’re talking Rilly Rhonda’s return, Susan Reynolds’ controversial Homecoming Queen win, Matt Kellner’s horrifying trophy-case appearance, Steven’s blackmail era, Tom’s increasingly alarming behavior, Brett and Robert’s shocking bedroom scene, Debbie’s black-tie Halloween party, the Trawler attacking again, and Terry Schaefer taking one very dramatic tumble. Plus, we rank our Top 5 Homicidal Homecoming Moments, Top 5 Heated Rivals and our ultimate Top 5 “Whodunit?” suspects as we try to figure out who pushed Terry, who the Trawler actually is, whether there could be multiple Trawlers, and just how much we can trust anything Brett tells us. We also have plenty of Tyler’s Takes, an alarming amount of Hamburger Hamlet discourse, theories about Brett’s mysteriously absent parents, and one major request for Hulu: GIVE US SEASON 2. Because after nine episodes, somehow we know less about the Trawler than when we started. (recorded live on YouTube) Thank you to Matt Buechele (@mattbooshell) for creating our theme song. Season 3 of My Life with the Walter Boys is here, and we have A LOT to discuss. Jillian is joined by Claire Wojciehowski, her fellow Walter Boys obsessive since day one, to break down what might just be the show’s best season yet. We break down Jackie and Cole finally giving into their feelings, the absolutely brutal breakup that follows, Cole’s new life in racing, Jackie trying to figure out what she wants for herself, and the fact that Uncle Richard just needs to stay out of everyone’s business. Plus, Alex finds himself at the center of a brand-new love triangle, Danny and Erin make some huge decisions about their future, and the drama of Silver Falls continues! Jillian and Claire countdown the Top 5 Drama Triangles of Season 3 because while Jackie / Cole / Alex may no longer be the show’s central love triangle, this season proves there are still plenty of complicated relationships and feelings to go around. And, of course, we have to talk about that finale cliffhanger! In classic Walter Boys fashion, we’ll be screaming until Season 4. 00:00:00 Reenactment 00:02:36 Intro to pod 00:05:53 Season 3 recap 00:09:12 Instant reactions 00:12:04 New Jackie 00:21:29 Top 5 Drama Triangles 00:22:05 Jackie, Cole, and Alex 00:27:46 Hannah 00:31:24 Cole, Erin, and Danny 00:36:46 Alex, Kiley, and Dylan 00:43:41 Jackie, Cole, Richard, and Harvard boy 00:52:12 Cliffhanger ending 01:04:16 Side characters Thank you to Matt Buechele (@mattbooshell) for creating our theme song. Sterling Point is giving us everything we’ve been missing from a classic teen drama—and this week, we’re diving into all of it. From the creators behind some of our favorite teen TV, the Prime Video series brings the family secrets, love triangles, shocking reveals and emotional cliffhangers, while somehow making even its soapiest twists feel incredibly human. I'm breaking down the entire first season, including Annie’s unexpected summer at Sterling Point, her growing connection with Ellis, Ramona and Oona’s complicated relationship, and the family mystery that completely turns Annie, Connor and Ramona’s lives upside down. Plus, we count down the Top 5 Classic Teen Drama Soapy Moments Turned Sincere, from secret letters and messy love lives to that absolutely wild reveal about Ramona’s biological father. We also get into why Sterling Point feels like a true return to the teen dramas of the Dawson’s Creek, The O.C. and Gossip Girl era, why its characters and dialogue feel so refreshingly real, the season finale’s biggest unanswered questions, and why we desperately need Season 2. And yes, we have to talk about that Ellis move. Ryan Murphy’s The Shards is here, and apparently senior year in 1980s Los Angeles involves drugs, secrets, questionable hairstyles, mysterious new students, cults, serial killers, and absolutely no reliable narrators. Jillian is joined by her husband Tyler to break down Episodes 1 and 2 of The Shards, based on Bret Easton Ellis’ novel. We break down Bret’s growing obsession with mysterious new student Robert Mallory, whether Robert really was at that screening of The Shining, Matt’s disappearance, and the increasingly disturbing threat of The Trawler. Plus, we get into the gloriously over-the-top ’80s vibe of it all, debate who could actually be behind the murders, and rank our Top 5 “Now That’s What I Call Camp!” moments that includes Debbie’s completely unhinged parents, Susan Reynolds doing the most as student body president, and Bret rewriting his own reality in real time. Elle Woods is back! And this time, we’re heading to high school....in Seattle?? Jillian breaks down Season 1 of Prime Video’s Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, following a 16-year-old Elle as an unexpected family move sends her from Los Angeles to Seattle, where she faces new friendships, family drama, and plenty of people who underestimate her. Jillian shares why she was initially skeptical of the series, how Lexi Minetree captures the spirit of Reese Witherspoon’s iconic character, and why the show’s focus on Elle finding her confidence and staying unapologetically herself makes this prequel work. Plus, she counts down the Top 5 “What, Like It’s Hard?” moments including surviving the world’s most humiliating “pool party” to exposing corruption at her school and making a life-changing decision in the finale.
