They also converted Spencer Jones' two-way contract to a regular contract to keep him here. So they can add one more player and that's it. What need should they try to fill? 15:41 - The NFL Honors Awards were last night, and the Broncos didn't win anything. We thought Sean Payton MIGHT have a shot at Coach of the Year, but Mike Vrabel taking the Patriots to the Super Bowl in his first season was tough to beat. 32:43 - When franchise gets a new coach, pairs him with a new QB, and they work together well, it can speed up your championship timeline. Look at both the Seahawks and the Patriots. 1st or 2nd year head coach, 1st or 2nd year QB (with that team, in Darnold's case). Also, look at the poor Vikings and how they're doing without Darnold. 

0:00 - The Avalanche beat the Sharks last night and headed into the break on a high note! Meanwhile, the Nuggets lost to the Knicks in 2OT at the Garden. Peyton Watson tweaked his hamstring (still being evaluated), and Spencer Jones left with a concussion. Plus, Jokic looked like he was limping at some point. My goodness. The double diparoo giveth. And the double diparoo taketh away. 14:04 - There are a few free agent WRs who are VERY talented and could help boost Denver's lacking offense. BUT...Brett doens't want the Broncos to touch them with a 50-foot pole for other reasons. 31:25 - All signs point to Maxx Crosby leaving the Raiders. He'd never end up in Denver. Zero percent chance to the Raiders letting him go elsewhere in the AFC West. But, let's play pretend. Would you take him here?

0:00 - Christian Braun came back to the lineup, but the Nuggets lost to the Pistons in Detriot. It's tough to find any consistency from the Nuggets because the lineup is constantly changing. Guys are getting healthy, other guys are getting hurt, etc. Coach Adelman is throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.  14:42 - Where do the Broncos have depth? Where do they need depth? Also, we heard that Davis Webb was a candidate for a bunch of different OC jobs around the league. So, why did he stay with Denver? 34:53 - Give David Adelman credit. It's so tough to win games when your lineup is changing from night to night. No excuses. He's trying all sorts of different floor combos, because that's all he can do.

0:00 - What a gross game by the Avs. They lost to Detriot 2-0 AT HOME. In Ball Arena. Sheesh. Get to the break already. These boys are completely and totally checked out. 14:29 - Davis Webb has officially been promoted to Broncos Offensive Coordinator. But the announcement yesterday didn't include anything about the playcalling...Straw Poll: Do you want Sean Payton calling plays next year? Yes or No? 33:57 - The NBA Trade Deadline is a few days away. What trades do you want to see the Nuggets make? Who cares?? Shoot for the moon! The Luka trade proved that anything is possible.

0:00 - The Nuggets faced OKC for the first time this season, and lost 121-111 at Ball Arena. We can cry about the whistles all we want, and we probably will. But it doesn't change the fact that OKC is still the gold standard in the West. They're still the man, and to be the man ya gotta beat the man. Figure out how to beat them. 14:31 - Nathan MacKinnon accused Erik Johnson on rocking a spray tan on Saturday during the Avs @ Red Wings broadcast. EJ is one of the only guys who can get Mack to act like a normal human instead of the stone cold hockey machine he usually is. 32:54 - Jamal Murray is finally an All-Star. We made it, y'all. Long overdue, and much deserved.

Even though he took that L on the way out, MPJ looked great in his return to Denver as member of the Brooklyn Nets. Meanwhile, the Avs sleepwalked through whatever the hell that effort was in Montreal.  14:43 - Davis Webb withdrew his name from the Raiders Head Coach search. Does this mean he'll be the Broncos OC now? Would Sean Payton let him call the plays? 31:13 - Drake Maye is dinged up with a shoulder injury. But as of now, he's still shooting to play in the Super Bowl (duh) and hasn't been ruled out yet.  Also, our old friend Nathaniel Hackett has a new job! How does Captain Bucket Hats keep getting NFL jobs? Go figure. Sean Payton couldn't help but take ANOTHER swipe at Hackett is his end of the year presser on Tuesday.

0:00 - Last night, the Avalanche looked awful in Ottawa. They couldn't get anything going. Brett says it's because these boys need the Olympic Break in the worst way. They're getting tired of the slog of the season. They desperately need the time off, then they'll come back stronger.  14:33 - Yesterday, Bo Nix called his own press conference to clarify some of the comments Sean Payton said about his ankle and surgery. Bo didn't think he got some of the particulars correct. This is weird, right? A QB holding his own presser to refuse something his coach said? 32:36 - Should the Broncos bring back Von Miller? He wants to play here REAL bad.

0:00 - The Nuggets had a chance to win, but fell short of beating the Pistons last night at Ball Arena. It is what is it. Chalk it up to the travel debacle where they couldn't get out of Memphis. They sat on the tarmac for ages, and made it back to Denver less than 24 hours until tip. It is what it is. But, one positive takeaway: Jamal Murray was very open and honest in his postgame presser. He actually took responsibility for his mistakes instead of being flippant and dismissive with the media.  16:40 - The Law Firm of Payton and Paton addressed the media to wrap up the season. Even though they reached the AFC Championship, this team needs to make some adjustments in the offseason. Both Payton and Paton understand that. 32:41 - Turns out, the surgeon who looked at Bo Nix's ankle said a fracture was a matter of "if" not "when." Is this something we need to worry about? Also, yesterday we learned that Bill Belichick will NOT be a First Ballot Hall of Famer. He'll have to wait at least a year. Seriously? We KNOW he's gonna make it in, but some people want to make him wait to send a message?

0:00 - Despite the Broncos success this year, they still have the same problem this offseason that they had last offseason: they NEED a good playmaker on offense. They never found a god dang Joker. JK Dobbins was developing into that role, before his season was cut short. 15:45 - Let's try and keep some perspective after the loss. What needs do the Broncos have? How can they address those needs? Which players should they bring back? Or rather "run it back" with, as we like to say? 34:26 - Did Sean Payton make a questionable decision or two in the AFC Championship game? Absolutely. We'll be wrestling with that 4th and 1 decision until we're dead in the ground. But let's not let that cloud our judgment of what Sean Payton has done for this organization in 3 short years.

0:00 - The Broncos season came to an end yesterday inside a snow globe at Empower Field. And the worst part was...the game felt completely and totally winnable. It was within reach, and the Broncos couldn't get it done. Would they have won that game with Bo Nix at QB? Probably, but we'll never know. 15:18 - Was Stidham's backwards pass actually a backwards pass? We hate having to unpack physics on this show, but sometimes we're forced to do it. Whatever that play was, it was a huge turning point in the game. It swung all the momentum towards New England and it never swung back. 31:26 - Wil Lutz had a field goal blocked late in the game. Postgame, he explained a reason why that may have happened. Also, the legendary legend Keefe/Keetz returned for another banger phone call. 

0:00 - We've been trying to predict how the Broncos will look on Sunday in the AFC Championship with a backup QB but in reality...we know nothing. This situation is so foreign to us that it's impossible to truly predict how Stiddy will play in the biggest game of his career. But what is our job in radio if not to speculate wildly? 15:20 - The Broncos need JK Dobbins on Sunday in the worst way. He's the only RB Sean Payton trusts completely AND he be such a valuable weapon for Stiddy. A reliable RB takes the pressure off of any QB, no matter how good he is. 31:39 - Straw Poll: What will Stiddy's stat line be on Sunday? Also, the Nuggets won last night with Valanciunas back in the lineup! It's good to have him back. And have yourself a night Peyton Watson! That guy keeps getting better and better. No spotlight is too bright for him.

The Avs got Goalied™. 14:57 - Stiddy finally addressed the media for the first time since being named the starting QB. How's the Mayor of Stiddy City feeling? 34:04 - In honor of the Houstan Texans and their White Boy Wednesdays...what are the ultimate weight room/lifting bangers of all time?

0:00 - Last night, the Nuggets lost to the Lakers. The non-Jokic games were fun while it lasted. But it's not fun anymore. We need the Serbian big man back ASAP. 14:37 - We're jumping on the Jarrett Stidham Hype Train here in Denver, because why not? But it's not just here. Nationally, lots of talking heads are buying Stiddy Stock as well. Why? What makes this situation different? 32:06 - Sean Payton needs to make things easy on Stiddy. What does that mean? Use ALL your weapons on offense. Feed Mims the ball. Courtland has to step up. Evan Engram has to be a god dang Joker instead of being invisible. All hands of deck, and that starts with Payton's playcalling.

0:00 - Check the forecast. I think Hell might be freezing over. The Indiana Football Hoosiers are national champions. No matter how you feel about Curt Cignetti, you have to admit that he orchestrated one of the greatest turnarounds in sports history.  15:00 - JK Dobbins has returned to practice! He's eligible to rejoin the team in the AFC Championship game. Having JK back would really take some pressure off Stiddy. But how good will he look returning to the field for the first time in months? David Adelman is a Bills fan. Are we okay with that? Is okay for the head coach of the Denver Nuggets to vocally support a team that doesn't play in our city? 33:50 - The Broncos do one thing really well, and the Patriots do that same thing poorly. It's one aspect of the game that would give a big edge to Denver.

0:00 - Your Denver Football Broncos are headed to the AFC Championship, and they'll host the New England Patriots. But they'll be doing it without Bo Nix, after he suffered a season-ending injury late in OT. The thrill of victory. The agony of defeat. How are we feeling this morning, Broncos Country? 15:18 - The losers of Buffalo, New York need to stop crying. All we've heard since Saturday night is a stream of tears thundering louder than Niagara falls. Stick a cork in it, Buffalo. YOU GET NOTHING. YOU LOSE. GOOD DAY SIR!
