Join my free community online here: https://lindsayfletcher.co/community What does the Bible say about competition in business? Lindsay Fletcher shares how comparing her early business journey to women who were much further along led to discouragement and envy—and how a closer look at Scripture changed her perspective. In Luke 5, two fishing crews working the same waters become partners when Jesus provides an abundant catch. Lindsay reflects on what that story can teach us about biblical leadership, collaboration, and scarcity in business. She also discusses why partnership requires discernment, how to respond when generosity isn’t returned, and one practical step toward a healthier business relationship. The episode also briefly follows up on last week’s conversation about AI and the guardrails Lindsay is setting for its use in her business. In this episode: Recognize how comparing your chapter one to someone else’s chapter twenty can fuel envy.Explore the fishing crews’ partnership in Luke 5 and the abundance shared by both boats.Consider how your words and attitudes reveal a scarcity mindset.Learn why trust and discernment matter when choosing business partners.Take one step toward collaboration with someone in your industry. Questions explored: What does Scripture say about competing with other women in business? How can you stop comparing your business to someone further ahead?Should you refer clients to someone in your own industry? How can you move past a scarcity mindset in business? In this episode, Lindsay talks with Misty Phillip about using AI as a tool in your business without handing over your data, your voice, or your discernment. Misty is COO of Trilogy Works, co-author of the #1 new release Upskill or Die, and author of The Trojan Horse of the Digital Age: Why Christians Must Discern AI. She and her husband own an advisory firm specializing in cybersecurity and AI. She explains why so many Christians end up in one of two camps, either afraid of AI or "running with scissors," and why pulling back leaves the technology to people who won't honor God with it. We cover what you should never put into AI (personal identifying information, medical and financial records, client data), the deepfake of a bank CEO her husband built in a couple of hours for a security exercise, and the time Google's AI described a Scripture passage so loosely it bordered on fabrication. Lindsay also admits what happened after an AI bootcamp, when the tool kept offering to make one more thing. Misty's answer is simple: your guardrails are only as strong as your convictions. Decide what you believe about AI and what you'll let it do before you ever prompt, the way Daniel decided before he sat down at the king's table. Questions we get into: What should you never put into ChatGPT or Claude? How should Christians use AI in their business? How do you use AI without losing your own voice?Should pastors use AI to write sermons? Lindsay Fletcher leads The Leaders' Table, a business network for Christian women in North Houston. Book giveaway: Want a copy of The Trojan Horse of the Digital Age? Christian Women in Business: Your Vision Doesn't Need a Vote - Ep. 127
2026/10/07
Local to North Houston? Join us in-person at The Leaders' Table. All networking event details + RSVP are located here: https://lindsayfletcher.co/theleaderstableforwomen Want The Leaders' Table to come to YOUR city? We're tracking where women want The Leaders' Table Next so tell us where you are from here: https://lindsayfletcher.co/bringtlttomycity Looking to connect with more Christian Women in Business? Join my free community online here: https://lindsayfletcher.co/community When people don't understand the vision God gave you, it's tempting to shrink it until it's easier to explain. This solo episode is for Christian women in business who are building something the people around them can't see yet. It's also for anyone who's tired of wondering whether the pushback she's getting is wisdom or just someone else's fear. Lindsay starts with a story from a recent Leaders' Table event. A member had just found out that friends were asking behind her back, "Who does she think she is?" From there, Lindsay gets honest about her own version of this. She knew she was supposed to build a business network for Christian women. Instead she started a general Facebook group that never mentioned faith, a watered-down yes she kept up for close to two years. She explains how she now tells wise counsel apart from asking for permission, why she doesn't share an early vision with everyone, and what Habakkuk 2:2 does and doesn't mean for business owners. The second half covers why expansion usually requires elimination. That includes laying down the sales workshops she's good at, and turning down a speaking spot at an online summit this week. The short answer: someone questioning your strategy is different from someone questioning your calling. Listen hard to the first. If the vision lines up with Scripture, it doesn't need a committee's approval. Questions we get into: How do I know if my business vision is from God or my ego? What's the difference between wise counsel and seeking permission? How do I say no to a good opportunity without feeling like I'm falling behind? The Leaders' Table is a Christian women's business network in North Houston, founded by Lindsay Fletcher in 2026, with chapters in Spring, Conroe, and The Woodlands. Maybe You Don’t Need Another Business Strategy. You Need Discipline. - Ep. 125
2026/09/08
In this episode of The Leaders' Table Podcast, Lindsay Fletcher challenges the common refrain among Christian women in business: that what’s missing is another strategy. Instead, she invites us to consider that the real issue might be a discipline problem. We often scramble for new offers, marketing tactics, or platforms, mistaking frantic activity for productivity. Lindsay digs into the connection between faith, discipline, stewardship, and leadership, grounded in 2 Timothy 1:7, which reminds us God has given us power, love, and self-discipline. Hear why vision demands discipline, motivation alone won’t sustain a business, and faithful leadership sometimes means showing up for the hard, ordinary work—sales calls, follow-ups, relationship building—even when excitement wanes. This conversation distinguishes necessary pivots from emotional reactions and urges patience for the seeds we’ve already sown to take root. Ultimately, it’s about who you’re becoming through the process of business building. Key Questions Explored: Are you pivoting out of fear or wisdom? Where might impatience be masquerading as a strategic change? What discipline do you need to faithfully lead what God has entrusted to you? Who are you becoming as you build your business? If you’re seeking more customers, revenue, or influence, this episode will help you reflect on developing the discipline to steward those blessings well instead of chasing constant new solutions.Follow the show for ongoing honest conversations about faith, leadership, money, stewardship, and growth for Christian women in business. 121. Are You Building the Business God Called You to Build?
2026/06/30
Have you ever felt like you're doing everything the business experts tell you to do, but instead of feeling fulfilled, you feel exhausted? In this personal episode of Small Business Growth Tools, I'm stepping away from sales training and marketing strategy to share a lesson God has been teaching me over the past few months. After a season of nonstop launches, workshops, challenges, podcasting, YouTube, social media, and trying to "be everywhere," I realized something surprising: I had become the very business owner I've spent years encouraging others not to become. Somewhere along the way, I started believing that visibility meant I had to be everywhere. But visibility without purpose accomplishes nothing. In this episode, I share what happened when I stepped back, why I unfollowed some of the biggest names in my industry, and how returning to the vision God originally gave me completely changed my perspective. If you're a Christian woman in small business who feels tired, overwhelmed, or like you're constantly chasing the next marketing strategy, this conversation is for you. ____________________________________________________________   LINKS & RESOURCES   Local to North Houston? 119. The Surprising Thing Women Gained Inside Sell with Confidence | Sales Leadership for Christian Women
2026/06/02
What if the biggest thing holding you back in sales isn’t your pricing, offer, or marketing—but how you see yourself? In this episode, I share the key lessons from the first Sell With Confidence Challenge. After four days of live sales training, the women didn’t leave talking about scripts or closing techniques—they left talking about leadership. They learned to overcome awkwardness in sales conversations, to stop seeing sales as pressure and start seeing it as serving others. They discovered how to communicate their value confidently and guide people to decisions that genuinely help them. Inside this episode, you’ll discover: Why confidence comes from preparation, not personality The mindset shift that turns sales from “bothering” into serving Why many Christian women struggle more with permission than integrity How communication—not persuasion—is the missing link in sales Why leadership is the true skill behind successful selling How understanding buyer personalities transforms sales conversations Hear stories from women who shifted from feeling unprepared or pushy to becoming confident leaders in their sales journeys. If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable asking for the sale, worried about being too pushy, or heard “I need to think about it” more times than you’d like, this episode is for you. Key Takeaways: Confidence is built through preparation Sales is service—not pressure Communication is a leadership skill Buyers want guidance, not convincing Selling is really about leading LINKS & RESOURCES   Local to North Houston? 118. Number 1 Way to Double Your Sales (without more leads) in Small Local Business
2026/05/05
#1 Way Christian Women Can Double Sales Without More Leads ---------------------- You don’t need more leads to grow your business. You need better follow-through.  In this episode, I’m breaking down the number one way to double, triple, even 10X your sales—and it has nothing to do with posting more, marketing more, or chasing more people. It’s follow-up. And before you brush that off like you’ve heard it before… I want you to really see what this is costing you. On average, only about 2% of sales happen in the first conversation. That means 98% of your potential clients don’t say yes right away. And 80% of those people? They need 5 to 12 follow-ups before they decide. Most of you are stopping after the first conversation, or worse, you’re ending with “let me know if you have any questions” and putting the responsibility on them. That’s where the sale dies. In this episode, I walk you through a simple numbers breakdown that shows exactly how you’re leaving money on the table. We look at what happens when 100 people contact your business and you only rely on first conversations. And then what happens when you follow up just once… and then twice. The difference is not small. In this example, it’s the difference between $200 and $600 with just two follow-ups. That’s not a marketing or leads problem. This is a follow-up problem.  Most small business owners have never learned to sell, so they don't know how to set themselves up for expected follow up and/or they don't have a simple system so that people served and sales don't fall through the cracks. The Sales Shift: You’re not missing leads. You’re missing follow-through. Actionable Takeaways: Set the expectation for follow-up during the first conversation Stop saying “let me know” and start owning the next step Build a simple system to track who to follow up with Make follow-up feel expected, not awkward   LINKS & RESOURCES   Local to North Houston?
