Eugene O'Neill's play Hughie has been performed at least three times by Al Pacino (The Godfather, Frankie & Johnny, Scent of a Woman) throughout his career. It is a one-act play set in the lobby of a small hotel on a West Side street in Midtown Manhattan, New York, during the summer of 1928. Only characters exist in the play - small-time gambler Erie Smith and Hotel night clerk Charlie Hughes. Pacino played the role of Erie Smith in each production. Costume designer Candice Donnelly joins the podcast to discuss working on the stage production. She talks about what designs Pacino wanted for the clothes, why he didn't care about fitted shoes and how he never wanted to try any of the clothes on. The Godfather, one of the greatest films ever made, spawned a computer game in 2006. Made by Electronic Arts, it was originally released in March 2006 for Windows, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. It was later released for the PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 3. It featured several famous actors from the film franchise reprising their roles for the computer game. But Al Pacino (Serpico, The Devil's Advocate, The Irishman) did not lend his voice to Michael Corleone in the game. Instead, Godfather himself was voiced by British-born Canadian actor Joseph May (Episodes, Resident Evil, Thomas the Tank Engine). In this episode May discussing how he got the role so early in his career, what it did for his voice acting work and why he has never played the game.
