BIG TRADE NEWS | In the Shed | EP. 3
2026/10/01
Joey Porter Jr. is a Dallas Cowboy. Dallas adds another piece to a defense desperately needing help, and Mike and Rudy break down why they like the move, what Porter could mean for the secondary and whether the Cowboys should eventually give him the massive contract he's looking for. The trade also creates an interesting question with George Pickens, because Dallas now has multiple talented players headed toward major contract decisions.
The defense remains the biggest story. JayShawn Barham has impressed enough for Mike to question whether DeMarvion Overshown should automatically get his starting job back, while the defensive line still needs more from Quinnen Williams and the pass rush. Then Christian Parker admits he would change his late-game defensive call against Baltimore, which sends Mike into another Cowboys coaching rant before the guys turn their attention to Cowboys vs. Texans.
Topics Covered:
Cowboys trade for Joey Porter Jr.
What Dallas gave up to acquire Porter
Why the Cowboys desperately needed another legitimate corner
Joey Porter Jr.'s potential impact on the secondary
Porter vs. George Pickens when it comes to future contracts
Whether Dallas could franchise tag Porter
What the move could mean for Caleb Downs
JayShawn Barham making his case for a permanent starting role
DeMarvion Overshown's future role when he returns
Quinnen Williams and the Cowboys defensive front
The lack of production from the Dallas pass rush
Christian Parker admits he'd change his late-game defensive call against Baltimore
Mike's frustration with Cowboys coaches learning on the job
Dallas' upcoming unrestricted free agents
Will Anderson and the challenge waiting for Dallas in Houston
Cowboys vs. Texans preview
Mike and Rudy make their score predictions
Key Moments:
Mike says he'd currently lean toward paying Joey Porter Jr. over George Pickens if Dallas ultimately had to choose between the two.
The guys argue Porter could give Dallas more flexibility with the rest of its secondary, including how the Cowboys use Caleb Downs.
Mike says JayShawn Barham has earned the right to start, even when DeMarvion Overshown returns.
Christian Parker admits he overthought the late-game defensive situation against Baltimore and would make a different call if given another opportunity.
Rudy predicts a 30-20 Cowboys win over Houston, while Mike predicts a 34-33 Texans win in another frustrating one-point game for Dallas.
Final Thoughts:
The Cowboys know the defense isn't good enough, and they're still trying to do something about it. Joey Porter Jr. gives Dallas another legitimate piece, but now it's on the players and coaching staff to turn all these moves into actual results as the Cowboys head to Houston.

Texas Celebration DRAMA & Gen X vs. Millennials | In the Building | EP. 654
2026/10/01
The Cowboys aren't sitting around waiting for the defense to magically improve. Dallas trades for Joey Porter Jr., and Mike, Rudy and Pelón break down what the move could mean for a struggling and injured secondary, where Porter fits and whether the Cowboys should eventually pay him. The guys also look ahead to Cowboys-Texans and another edition of In The Shed.
Away from the NFL, Mike has had enough of the continued conversation surrounding the Texas Longhorns' celebrations, and the crew debates how much attention college kids doing dumb stuff really deserves. There's also a wild Schwing King nomination, Throwback Thursday, the weekly football picks and an LT Electric Slide that sends the guys back to some of the biggest moments in sports history.
Topics Covered:
Dallas trades for Joey Porter Jr.
Why the Cowboys needed help in the secondary
What Porter could mean for DaRon Bland, Caleb Downs and the Dallas defense
Whether Porter has to prove himself before getting a new contract
Jerry Jones continuing to make moves to improve the Cowboys
Cowboys-Texans preview and the upcoming In The Shed
Gen X life with a Millennial
Old-school video games, Centipede and the legendary rollerball
Janet Jackson sampling America's "Ventura Highway"
Throwback Thursday with Pelón, Rudy and Mike
Chris Del Conte's reaction to Texas player celebrations
Colin Simmons and Relique Brown's celebrations
Why the guys think the Texas conversation has dragged on too long
Schwing King Report
PIWTP takes aim at the Cornell story and a botched execution attempt discussed on the show
Weekly football picks featuring UTSA, Cowboys-Texans and more
LT Electric Slide
One sporting event from history you'd want to attend
What you'd buy first after winning $100 million
Giving up air conditioning vs. hot showers
The upcoming Mike Taylor Barbecue benefiting the Miracle League of San Antonio
ITB hat pickup and college football hangout at Slackers
Key Moments:
The guys react to the Joey Porter Jr. trade and argue Dallas had to do something with a defense that has struggled and a secondary dealing with injuries.
Mike's Gen X story starts with explaining the Centipede rollerball to Nina and turns into old arcades, classic video games and generational music differences.
The crew pushes back on the continued attention surrounding the Texas celebrations, arguing the players' actions were immature but that the story has been over-discussed.
The Schwing King nomination goes to a pilot the hosts discuss for his actions during an alleged midair attack and emergency.
Throwback Thursday produces old photos, dodgeball memories and the story of a listener who once had Mike Taylor's face shaved into the back of his head.
The LT Electric Slide asks which historic sporting event the guys would attend. Mike picks Ali vs. Foreman, while Rudy goes with Michael Jordan's final championship-winning shot with Chicago.
Asked to choose between losing AC or hot showers forever, Mike and Rudy immediately protect the air conditioning while Pelón says he could survive without it.
Final Thoughts:
The Cowboys are still trying to fix the defense, and Joey Porter Jr. gives Dallas another major piece to work with. But EP. 654 goes well beyond football with Texas celebration drama, Gen X nostalgia, wild Throwback Thursday stories and a Schwing King story that leaves the entire room stunned.

Schotty Takes the BLAME, Diddy's Prison Life & MLB Headed for a LOCKOUT? | In the Building | EP. 653
2026/09/30
Ubuntu! The show opens with Jeff Traylor's new UTSA philosophy and a conversation about culture, the transfer portal and why it's getting harder to enjoy a talented Roadrunners team without wondering who might leave. There's also a milestone in the building as Pelón celebrates his 100th official ITB episode with Mike and Rudy.
Then it's back to the Dallas Cowboys. Brian Schottenheimer finally takes responsibility for his late-game mistakes against Baltimore, but his attempt to compare his coaching mistake to Dak Prescott throwing an interception does not sit well with Mike and Rudy. From there, the show goes everywhere: MLB labor concerns, JJ Watt in the booth, WYWWednesday, Diddy reportedly getting special treatment in prison, Survivor Pool and the great steak debate.

The guys compare the Diddy reports to Goodfellas
The ITB Survivor Pool is officially down to six
ITB hats, Saturday's Slackers pickup and upcoming merch
Gen X life with a Millennial gets teased for the next show
Key Moments:
Pelón realizes EP. 653 marks his 100th official In The Building episode, leading Mike and Rudy to look back at how quickly the show has evolved.
Mike and Rudy praise Jeff Traylor's UTSA culture, while acknowledging the reality of developing players who could eventually leave for bigger NIL opportunities.
Schotty admits he screwed up, but the guys hammer his comparison between his coaching decisions and Dak throwing an interception.
The guys warn baseball fans to enjoy the MLB playoffs, because they believe a major labor fight between the players and owners could be coming.
A pizza delivery video completely derails PIWTP after the driver carries multiple pizzas sideways and then flips them upside down.
The crew settles the steak debate with three or four on the chart, landing in rare-to-medium-rare territory.
WYWWednesday brings A Different World and The Dropout, including a long discussion about the Theranos scandal.
Rudy brings up reports that Diddy is receiving unusual perks in prison, which immediately turns into a Goodfellas comparison.
The ITB Survivor Pool is down to six players as the NFL season keeps wiping out the field.
Final Thoughts:
EP. 653 has a little bit of everything: Cowboys frustration, UTSA football, MLB labor drama, pizza crimes, prison stories and steak arguments. Schottenheimer may have taken responsibility, but Mike and Rudy aren't letting him off the hook yet, while Pelón quietly hits a pretty big ITB milestone with 100 official episodes under his belt.

Tony Popovich?! Tomlin CALLS OUT Schotty & Can the Cowboys Be SAVED? | In the Building | EP. 652
2026/09/30
Mike is finally back from Hawaii, Pelón is getting recognized in public, and Tony Parker is apparently channeling Gregg Popovich now. The guys react to Parker's fiery halftime speech in his coaching debut with ASVEL, including a very Pop-like demand for defense, before turning their attention back to the Cowboys and the fallout from the loss in Brazil.
The Cowboys are only 1-2, but Mike and Rudy have major questions about Brian Schottenheimer after his late-game decisions against Baltimore. They break down the reasons Dallas fans should be worried, but also make the case that the season is nowhere close to over with injured players eventually returning, a manageable stretch ahead and an NFC East that doesn't look unbeatable.
Topics Covered:
Mike returns from Hawaii and battles jet lag
ITB hats are still available ahead of Saturday's Slackers pop-up
Pelón's Spurs Media Day photography gets some love
Pelón gets spotted in public by an ITB listener
Tony Parker's fiery coaching debut

Reasons for Cowboys optimism
The NFC East remains within reach
Injured Cowboys could provide reinforcements
Dallas has financial flexibility if it wants to make a move
LT Electric Slide tackles wrestling, candy bars and alternate careers
ITB barbecue raffle benefiting the Miracle League of San Antonio
Key Moments:
“Tony Popovich” is born after Tony Parker goes off at halftime over his team's defense, then celebrates his first coaching victory afterward.
Rudy argues the VMAs needed Gen X stars to carry the show, launching a full conversation about Madonna, old-school music and why people keep returning to the soundtrack of their youth.
Case Keenum gets his flowers after stepping in at quarterback for Chicago, while Rudy celebrates his second victory of the season in the ITB weekly picks.
Mike and Rudy unload on Brian Schottenheimer's late-game management, especially the kickoff decision, offensive approach and defensive preparation on Baltimore's final possession.
The guys defend Dak Prescott, pointing to his production while arguing that Dallas has repeatedly put him in situations where the offense needs huge point totals to survive.
The pessimism is real, but so is the hope. Dallas is 1-2, the division remains attainable, several defensive players could return, and the guys see opportunities in the upcoming schedule.
Mike makes his current stance on Schottenheimer clear: the coach has the rest of the season to change the conversation.
Final Thoughts:
The Cowboys have problems, and after Brazil, Schottenheimer is officially under the microscope. But at 1-2, Mike and Rudy aren't burying Dallas yet. There are still reasons to believe this team can recover, especially if the defense gets healthy and the coaching staff stops making life harder on itself. And if all else fails, at least we've got Tony Popovich screaming about defense in France.

ITB MERCH IS HERE. Mike and Rudy reveal the first run of In The Building hats and announce Saturday's Slackers meetup.
Pelón calls his first Spurs Media Day one of the top career experiences of his life and shares some of his favorite behind-the-scenes shots.
Mitch Johnson opens up about the emotional grind of his first season as head coach and finally having time to reflect.
Wemby talks Tobias Harris, praising the veteran's experience, guidance and ability to embrace a role.
Harris explains why the Spurs' talent, trajectory and desire to chase a championship made San Antonio appealing to him.
After sleeping on the Cowboys' 34-31 loss to Baltimore, Rudy says he's even more frustrated, while Mike calls the finish a complete coaching meltdown.
The guys question the late play calling, clock management, kickoff strategy and Dallas' defensive approach on Baltimore's final possession.
Texas survives Tennessee, but the finish gets wild after an onside kick gives the Longhorns a late scare.
Mike and Rudy debate where Arch Manning stands after another uneven performance despite Texas remaining undefeated.
Final Thoughts:
EP. 651 feels like a big step for ITB. The merch is officially rolling, Pelón is inside Spurs Media Day creating original content, and basketball season is getting close. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are still finding painful new ways to lose and Texas keeps surviving. Football season is in full chaos mode, and Spurs season is right around the corner.

RAVENS vs COWBOYS: Instant Reaction & Post-Game Show | In the Shed
2026/09/28
That one hurt. The Dallas Cowboys fall to 1-2 after a 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, with the game ending on a 56-yard Tyler Loop field goal after Baltimore was awarded a late timeout that Mike and Rudy strongly question. The guys are frustrated with the officiating, but make it clear this loss wasn't just about the refs. Dallas had opportunities to take control and didn't finish the job.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense had stretches where they looked dangerous, while a depleted defense showed some signs of improvement despite continuing to struggle with pressure and injuries. The bigger frustration comes from Dallas abandoning parts of the running game, settling for a field goal late instead of finding the end zone and appearing to prepare for overtime before Baltimore had actually finished playing.
Topics Covered:
Cowboys lose to Baltimore 34-31 in Brazil
Tyler Loop's game-winning 56-yard field goal
Controversy over Baltimore's final timeout
Mike and Rudy's frustration with NFL officiating
Why the refs aren't the only reason Dallas lost
Questionable pass interference calls on both sides

Caleb Downs showing signs of progress
Concerns about the playing surface in Brazil
Cowboys fall to 1-2
Why Mike and Rudy aren't panicking yet
Dallas heads to Houston next
The Shedfather and the perfect Cowboys-loss man cave
Key Moments:
Mike and Rudy immediately question whether Baltimore should have been awarded the timeout that helped set up the winning field goal. They still stress that Dallas had plenty of opportunities to avoid putting the game in the officials' hands.
The Cowboys get a late opportunity near the goal line but walk away with three points, leading to questions about the play calling and why Javonte Williams didn't get the ball.
The guys criticize the NFL's pass interference rules after multiple calls affected the game, including a late flag against Baltimore that they believe should not have gone Dallas' way.
Dallas' defense is running out of bodies, especially in the secondary, but Mike and Rudy still wanted more disruption from the highly paid defensive front.
JayShawn Barham earns praise after another encouraging performance, with the guys calling him one of the young pieces Dallas can build around.
Mike points out that Dallas appeared to be preparing for overtime while Lamar Jackson and Baltimore were still trying to win the game.
Despite the brutal ending, the guys acknowledge this was an entertaining game featuring strong performances from Dak Prescott and Lamar Jackson.
The Cowboys are now 1-2, but Mike and Rudy's bigger-picture message is to stay afloat while a young, overhauled defense develops and gets healthier.
Final Thoughts:
This was about as Cowboys a loss as you can get. Dallas battled a better Baltimore team down to the final seconds, showed some encouraging signs and still found a way to leave Brazil 1-2. The officiating will get plenty of attention, but the Cowboys also had chances to finish the game themselves. Now it's about regrouping, getting healthy and finding a way to stay afloat as they head to Houston.

2026/09/24
EP. 650 opens with a tribute to longtime Lakers PA announcer Lawrence Tanter, which quickly turns into a campaign to get Rudy Jay to apply for the job. Mike checks in from Hawaii while handling dad duty, and the crew gets ready for Spurs Media Day before diving into another packed show.
The biggest sports conversation centers on Victor Wembanyama landing at No. 2 on ESPN’s NBA ranking, behind Nikola Jokić and ahead of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Dončić and Giannis Antetokounmpo. That means no American players in the Top 5, leading to a bigger conversation about international basketball development, Wemby's two-way impact and just how quickly the Spurs could get back to championship contention.

Key Moments:
Mike pitches Rudy Jay as the next Lakers PA announcer, and Rudy immediately starts working on his player introductions.
TMZ's report about Gregg Popovich getting married sends the show completely off the rails with a debate over friendship, relationships and whether any supposed "bro code" applies.
The ESPN ranking puts Wemby at No. 2, and Mike and Rudy debate whether that's too high, exactly right or whether his two-way impact could even justify an argument for the top spot.
The guys notice the entire Top 5 discussed on the show is international and talk about how overseas players are developing against professionals at much younger ages.
Throwback Thursday features Mike broadcasting during the Spurs' 2014 championship celebration and Rudy posing with a shotgun and cigar during a 2017 trip to Monterrey.
WYWW returns a day late with Rudy watching Tony, Mike finishing The Boys in the Boat, Pelón continuing his book series and adding BlackBerry to the conversation.
Rudy makes an early call on Cowboys-Ravens in Brazil, taking Dallas outright, while Mike and Pelón side with Baltimore.
The final college pick is Texas at Tennessee, with President Trump expected at the game according to the discussion. Rudy and Pelón take Texas, while Mike takes Tennessee with the points.
Final Thoughts:
EP. 650 has a little bit of everything: Wemby climbing toward the top of the NBA, Pop hitting TMZ, Spurs nostalgia, football picks, Cowboys-Ravens and Mike parenting live from Hawaii. With Spurs Media Day around the corner and football season rolling, the ITB calendar is officially packed.

COWBOYS WIN but What Do We REALLY Know After Two Weeks? | In the Shed | EP. 2
2026/09/23
Welcome to EP. 2 of In the Shed, the dedicated Dallas Cowboys show from In the Building, presented by The Shedfather: https://www.theshedfather.com/
The Cowboys are 1-1 after two weeks, but Mike and Rudy still have plenty of questions about what this team actually is, especially on defense. Now Dallas heads to Rio de Janeiro to face the Baltimore Ravens, and neither guy loves the idea of playing a meaningful NFL game overseas.
The biggest concern is a Cowboys defense that still hasn't shown enough through two games. Dallas improved against Washington, but the guys point out that Jayden Daniels was causing problems before leaving the game. Now that same defense has to deal with Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Baltimore, while Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense may have to carry an even bigger load.
Topics Covered:
Cowboys head to Brazil for Ravens week
Why Mike and Rudy dislike NFL international games
Concerns about the playing surface in Rio de Janeiro
Jerry Jones saying he's comfortable with the field conditions
Cowboys enter Week 3 at 1-1
What Dallas has actually proven through two games
Ravens coming off a loss to New Orleans
Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry present a massive challenge
Baltimore's early-season penalties
Cowboys defense improves from Week 1 but still has major questions
Jayden Daniels' success before leaving the Washington game
Why the Commanders win was so important
Dallas' struggling pass rush
Caleb Downs leading Dallas in several defensive categories discussed on the show
Concerns about Downs playing in the slot
Cowboys running game needs to help Dak Prescott
Javonte Williams and the need to establish something on the ground
Dak's strong start through two weeks
Why Dallas needs to control the clock against Baltimore
NFL injuries piling up around the league
Keeping Dak healthy becomes a major priority
Looking ahead to Houston after the Ravens game
Pelón's weekly picks victory means Mike and Rudy owe him tacos
The Shedfather's golf simulator is ready
Possible future ITB visit to The Shedfather
Key Moments:
Mike and Rudy unload on the NFL's international schedule and question why teams should have to travel overseas for regular-season games that directly affect the standings.
The reported condition of the Rio playing surface becomes a major concern, especially with injuries already piling up across the NFL.
After initially discussing the game as potentially winnable, Mike admits that the longer they break it down, the less comfortable he feels about Dallas' chances.
The Cowboys defense is discussed as ranking 29th overall through two weeks, according to the numbers cited during the show.
Caleb Downs gets credit for making plays, but the guys aren't thrilled that a player being used in the slot is leading Dallas in defensive categories they expected the front seven to control.
Rudy points out that Dallas managed only 66 rushing yards against Washington, with Dak accounting for 26 of them. The running backs need to give the offense more against Baltimore.
The formula for Dallas becomes clear: keep the ball, find some kind of running game, let Dak work with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and keep Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry standing on the sideline.
Mike ultimately says his priorities in Brazil are seeing the defense improve and getting Dak Prescott out of the game healthy.
The show ends with Pelón talking golf trash before the crew has even scheduled its trip to try The Shedfather's new golf simulator.
Final Thoughts:
The Cowboys got the Week 2 win they needed, but In the Shed EP. 2 is all about what Dallas still hasn't proven. The offense has shown plenty with Dak Prescott, but the defense, pass rush and running game have serious questions to answer, and facing Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in Brazil isn't exactly an easy place to find those answers.

Dylan Harper TOP 50?! Holly Rowe BLOCKS MT & Cobie Durant Gets BALLSY | In the Building | EP. 649
2026/09/23
Mike joins the show from Hawaii while on dad duty, but vacation mode doesn't last long. He discovers Holly Rowe blocked him on X following his comments about the ongoing Arch Manning controversy, sending the guys into a long discussion about the reaction to Arch, Mike's criticism of how the situation has lingered and why he believes the young quarterback may become much more guarded with the media going forward.
Then it's back to sports. Dylan Harper lands at No. 50 in the ESPN ranking discussed on the show, leading to another debate about just how good the young Spur can become. The guys also revisit Sean Payton accusing Seattle of gaining an unfair advantage from publicly available practice footage, talk NFL injuries, check out one of the strangest Dylan Harper cards imaginable and somehow find plenty of time for bathroom and bowel-movement conversation.

Gary Patterson's paranoia about people watching TCU practices
ITB Survivor Pool is down to eight
Cowboys coverage continues with In the Shed
Key Moments:
Mike opens from a budget hotel in Hawaii and celebrates successfully getting the remote setup working before revealing he's on full dad duty for the week.
The biggest early discussion comes when Mike reveals Holly Rowe blocked him following his post about the fallout from Arch Manning's reaction to the fake video involving Rowe.
Mike explains why the subject of domestic violence is personal to him, recounting spending part of his childhood with his mother and sister in a women's shelter.
The LT Electric Slide asks the guys to pick their stadium karaoke song, gamble $10,000 on a board or card game and revisit the craziest sports controversies they've covered.
Dylan Harper at No. 50 sparks a debate over several players ranked ahead of him, including Trae Young and LaMelo Ball.
Mike says he believes Harper has Hall of Fame-level talent and starts talking about collecting his cards while he's still young.
The guys discover the ridiculous "Hurting Harper" card and immediately roast the artwork, hair, teeth and entire concept.
Sean Payton's complaints about Seattle using fan-recorded Broncos practice footage lead to a bigger conversation about how much NFL teams should allow spectators to film during training camp.
The planned Bathroom Challenge and Whatcha Watching Wednesday get bumped to the next show after the Holly Rowe discussion runs long.
The episode wraps with a reminder that the guys are coming right back with In the Shed for more Cowboys talk.
Final Thoughts:
EP. 649 goes from a serious conversation about Holly Rowe, Arch Manning and media reaction straight into Dylan Harper hype, Garbage Pail Kids, NFL paranoia and way too much bathroom talk. The big Spurs takeaway is simple: Harper is already getting national recognition before his career has really gotten rolling, and the guys are clearly buying the hype.

Cowboys Get HUMBLED, Deion Era in TROUBLE & Pickleball | In the Building | EP. 648
2026/09/22
Mike is out traveling, which leaves Rudy and Pelón running the building, and naturally things get off track immediately. What starts as a conversation about sleeping, getting older and staying active somehow turns into Pelón defending his pickleball skills and Rudy confidently declaring that he can walk onto the advanced court and beat him. Now there's money on the table, wives are getting dragged into it, and an official ITB pickleball showdown might actually have to happen.
Eventually they find the sports. The Rams beat the Giants 28-6, Jackson Dart goes down, and Pelón celebrates going 4-1 against the spread to win the weekly ITB picks. The Survivor Pool is down to eight after another brutal weekend, Rudy hands out slices of humble pie around the NFL and Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb gets some love for firing back at fans who gave up on the team early.

Athletes, media personalities and public platforms
The tension between personal opinions, audiences and sponsors
Rudy explains how he decides whether to address issues outside sports
Ryan Clark and Stephen A. Smith enter the media discussion
Pelón explains why he keeps his own online platform focused on its original purpose
Key Moments:
Pelón takes the picks crown. After only recently diving deeper into football, he goes 4-1 against the spread and gets his victory lap over Rudy and Mike.
Rudy challenges Pelón's pickleball credentials so aggressively that the conversation ends with $100 on the line for a best-of-three matchup.
The Survivor Pool suffers another massacre. After starting the weekend with 16 remaining entries, only eight survive.
Rudy gives Alabama OC Ryan Grubb a Reach Around, defending his right to respond after fans booed the team before Alabama came back to win.
Even from the airport, Mike gets his PIWTP submitted and goes after Peyton and Eli Manning, saying the ManningCast hasn't gotten off to a strong start this season.
Pelón attempts to name five current Cowboys without Dak Prescott or CeeDee Lamb. Rudy is willing to accept Bland, Pickens, Aubrey and Winters, but random last names like Williams and Johnson aren't getting through.
Shannon Sharpe's comments launch the show's most serious conversation as Rudy and Pelón discuss the pressure public figures can face when deciding whether to address controversial social and political issues. Rudy explains the balancing act between expressing an opinion and potentially alienating listeners, guests or sponsors.
The show closes with Rudy preparing for the gym, Pelón planning a much quieter afternoon and the promise that Mike returns tomorrow.
Final Thoughts:
With Mike gone for the day, Rudy and Pelón turn EP. 648 into a mix of NFL chaos, media talk and classic ITB nonsense. Pelón gets bragging rights after winning the picks, the Survivor Pool is almost dead already, Ryan Grubb gets his flowers and the biggest unresolved question coming out of the show might be whether Rudy can actually back up all that pickleball trash talk.

Cowboys Are BACK, Survivor Pool MASSACRE & Put RESPECT on Jeff Traylor | In the Building | EP. 647
2026/09/21
The Cowboys morning after starts with some love for Dak Prescott. Dallas handles Washington 37-20, Dak reaches a major Cowboys touchdown milestone and the guys discuss his remarkable run against NFC East opponents at home. They're still waiting for postseason success, but Mike argues Cowboys fans can appreciate what Dak is doing without comparing every quarterback to Tom Brady or every season to the glory days.
Then it's football chaos everywhere. The ITB Survivor Pool gets massacred, Mike renounces his Baker Mayfield fandom, the against-the-spread competition comes down to Monday Night Football, and the guys rip through the NFL in the 2-Minute Drill. On the college side, Texas A&M catches serious heat, Lane Kiffin gets a hostile reception in Oxford, and Mike and Rudy say Jeff Traylor deserves far more respect for what he's built and sustained at UTSA.
Topics Covered:

Dak Prescott's home winning streak against NFC East opponents
Dak reaches a Cowboys career touchdown passing milestone
Appreciating Dak without requiring him to be Tom Brady

Arch Manning discussion after Texas-UTSA
Monday Night Football and tacos on the line in the ITB picks competition
Key Moments:
Mike opens with a trivia question before revealing Dak Prescott joined Tom Brady in a very exclusive home divisional winning streak stat discussed on the show. The guys also celebrate Dak reaching the top of the Cowboys' career touchdown passing list.
After Cleveland beats Tampa Bay and wipes out a huge chunk of the ITB Survivor Pool, Mike declares his Baker Mayfield fandom officially over.
The guys revisit their picks from Zoo Week, with Rudy and Pelón tied going into Giants-Rams while Mike sits at 0-2 in the weekly competition.
Floyd Mayweather gets Mike's PIWTP after the show discusses a court finding that Mayweather fathered a four-year-old girl and the resulting child-support dispute.
Rudy goes after Mike Elko and Texas A&M after another frustrating Aggies performance, arguing the program continually fails to match its money, facilities and support with results.
Mike stops the show for an impassioned Jeff Traylor defense, pointing to UTSA's ability to compete despite resource disadvantages and the success of coaches who have worked under Traylor.
Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford produces a much nastier reception than the guys expected, leading to a discussion about just how angry Ole Miss fans remain.
The NFL recap reinforces Mike's favorite early-season rule: wait four games before deciding who is actually good.
The guys turn the weekly against-the-spread competition into something tangible. The two losers have to buy tacos for the show.
Final Thoughts:
EP. 647 is basically a reminder that nobody knows anything two weeks into football season. The Survivor Pool is wrecked, preseason assumptions are already falling apart, and the Cowboys suddenly feel a lot better at 1-1. But one thing Mike and Rudy are willing to plant a flag on: considering what he continues to do with the resources available at UTSA, they're done listening to the Jeff Traylor disrespect.

Dak & CeeDee GO OFF as Dallas Beats Washington 37-20 | In the Shed
2026/09/21
The Cowboys needed this one. After spending the week calling Cowboys-Commanders about as close to a Week 2 must-win as you can get, Dallas responds with a 37-20 win at Jerry World. Mike and Rudy react to Dak Prescott's huge afternoon, CeeDee Lamb reminding everybody he's WR1, signs of improvement from Christian Parker's defense and Dallas getting back to 1-1 before heading to Brazil.
But this was a strange game to evaluate after Jayden Daniels suffered another serious-looking elbow injury before halftime. The guys debate how much his absence changed the game, question Washington's handling of its quarterback and discuss a controversial replay decision that went against the Commanders. Meanwhile, Dallas still has plenty to clean up, particularly a running game that produced only 66 total yards.
Topics Covered:
Cowboys beat the Commanders 37-20
Dallas improves to 1-1
Dak Prescott's huge performance
CeeDee Lamb goes for 153 yards and two touchdowns
Jake Ferguson catches two touchdowns
George Pickens contributes six catches
Jayden Daniels suffers another elbow injury
Would Dallas have won if Daniels stayed healthy?
Marcus Mariota takes over for Washington
Washington's coaching and Dan Quinn come under fire
Controversial replay decision costs Washington a touchdown
Cowboys defense shows improvement after the Giants loss
Dallas gets better pressure up front
Caleb Downs continues playing nickel instead of safety
Cowboys rushing attack manages only 66 yards
Brandon Aubrey's bounce-back performance
Brian Schottenheimer gets upgraded from "S****y" back to "Shoddy"
Tom Brady's broadcasting gets put In the Shed
Brady introduces the guys to the phrase "piss missile"
Rudy gets put In the Shed after falling asleep during the fourth quarter
Mike gets eliminated from the survivor pool
Cowboys fans look ahead to Baltimore in Brazil
The guys react to a chaotic NFL Week 2
The Shedfather and custom backyard sheds, casitas and golf simulator spaces
Key Moments:
Dak was dealing. Prescott finishes 26-of-31 for 279 yards and four touchdowns, with the guys calling it an unbelievable performance.
CeeDee Lamb reminds everyone who WR1 is, finishing with eight catches for 153 yards and two scores.
Jayden Daniels' elbow injury changes the complexion of the game and sparks a long discussion about his repeated injuries and Washington's handling of its quarterback.
Mike argues Washington was robbed on a replay review that wiped away what he believed should have been a touchdown.
Rudy confesses that he fell asleep during the fourth quarter and had to be awakened before the postgame show. Naturally, Mike immediately puts him In the Shed.
Brandon Aubrey responds after last week's criticism by drilling long kicks, although Mike still wants to see him make another high-pressure kick before declaring everything completely fixed.
Dallas' running game remains a major concern. The Cowboys finish with only 66 rushing yards, with Dak accounting for 26 of them.
After Baltimore loses at home, the guys admit next week's Cowboys-Ravens game in Brazil suddenly feels a little different.
Concerns emerge about the condition of the field in Brazil and what that could mean for both teams.
Mike officially renounces his Baker Mayfield fandom after Tampa Bay knocks him out of the survivor pool.
Final Thoughts:
It wasn't perfect, and Jayden Daniels' injury makes the final score harder to evaluate, but the Cowboys got exactly what they needed: a win. Dak Prescott was outstanding, CeeDee Lamb took over, the defense looked better and Dallas avoided an 0-2 start in the NFC East. Now the Cowboys take a 1-1 record to Brazil for a fascinating matchup with Baltimore, and In the Shed will be back immediately afterward to break it all down.

Mike Taylor, Rudy Jay and Pelón take In the Building on location for a special edition from the San Antonio Zoo, with Congo Falls serving as the backdrop. Key Moments:
Tim Morrow reveals he's been chased up a tree by a rhino and describes a recent South Africa trip where another rhino made contact with their vehicles.
Tim explains how the zoo brought in seven gorillas from Dallas, Atlanta and Houston, including the process of introducing the animals to one another.
The guys learn about the zoo's long-term plans to expand to the other side of Highway 281 and potentially grow its education program through fifth grade and eventually beyond.
After the previous day's NIOSA discussion, Tim says his offer to help is serious and that he's willing to volunteer his experience if organizers need it.
The zoo brings out its own conservation-focused booze, and naturally the show starts sampling the whiskey.
Football picks get interesting immediately when Mike takes Washington to cover against Dallas while still predicting a Cowboys win.
Rudy's PIWTP target is the Red Hot Chili Peppers for selling their music catalog for $300 million.
Mike goes after Lane Kiffin after hearing that Kiffin responded to legal advice with screenshots from ChatGPT supporting his position.
Breaking news hits the show when Pelón announces that the first batch of ITB merch is officially ready.
The animal-sound competition goes completely off the rails, with Mike and Rudy attempting everything from lions to rattlesnakes before Rudy gets declared the winner.
The guys announce that Members Only viewers will have a chance to win a family four-pack to the San Antonio Zoo with giraffe feeding and carousel passes.
Final Thoughts:
Taking ITB out of the studio turned EP. 646 into exactly what it should've been. Gorillas, rhinos, whiskey, football picks, animal noises and a fascinating conversation with Tim Morrow about where the San Antonio Zoo has been and where it's going next. Zoo Week delivered, and now the show heads into its next chapter with Members Only Fridays and more Cowboys coverage on In the Shed.

WILD Zoo Night, The NEW Arch Manning & Emmitt’s Record in DANGER? | In the Building | EP. 645
2026/09/17
Mike, Rudy and Pelón are back home after spending the night at the San Antonio Zoo’s Spekboom Lodge, and apparently sleeping in the same room teaches you a lot about your coworkers. Pelón turned the room into a freezer, Rudy claimed the king-size bed, Mike battled the cold with multiple blankets, and the guys woke up surrounded by giraffes and zebras before getting the chance to feed the gorillas. The full zoo experience is still rolling, with another show coming from the zoo.
Then the show takes a hard turn into San Antonio news after the guys react to the announcement that NIOSA will not happen in 2027. That sparks a lengthy and heated conversation about the city budget, Fiesta traditions, local businesses, Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones and what the guys believe San Antonio should prioritize. They also get into What You Watching Wednesday before closing with Emmitt Smith saying Derrick Henry has the durability to potentially make a run at his NFL rushing record.
Topics Covered:
Surviving the overnight stay at the San Antonio Zoo
Rudy enjoys the king-size bed he won with the football picks
Pelón turns Spekboom Lodge into a 66-degree freezer
Late-night beers, conversations and giraffes staring down the guys
Waking up with giraffes and zebras outside the lodge
The guys get the rare opportunity to feed the gorillas
More behind-the-scenes zoo videos are coming
Thursday’s ITB show from the San Antonio Zoo
NIOSA will not take place in 2027
Why losing a major Fiesta tradition fires Mike up
San Antonio's reported budget shortfall and potential city cuts discussed on the show
The debate over NIOSA, La Villita businesses and Fiesta funding
Mike unloads on Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones and San Antonio leadership
Rudy argues that even traditions you personally don't attend can matter deeply to a city
What You Watching Wednesday
Rudy watches Why Did I Get Married Again?
Pelón catches up on Project Hail Mary, The Martian and The Town
Pelón prepares to start Ted Lasso
Mike recommends The Dropout and dives into the Elizabeth Holmes story
Emmitt Smith says Derrick Henry has the stamina to potentially chase his rushing record
The guys debate whether Henry can produce long enough to get there
More Cowboys content coming ahead of Dallas-Washington
Friday ITB officially moves to Members Only
Mike Taylor BBQ adds Game Day Men's Health as a sponsor and continues looking for judges
Key Moments:
Pelón reveals he likes sleeping with the thermostat at 66 degrees, immediately explaining why Mike needed multiple blankets to survive the night.
The guys describe sitting outside around midnight with giraffes only feet away, including a male giraffe who seemed very interested in reminding everybody whose territory they were visiting.
Their zoo access includes feeding gorillas, something the guys stress was a special experience and not a normal public activity.
The NIOSA news completely takes over the show as Mike argues that San Antonio shouldn't lose important traditions because of budget problems. The conversation expands into city leadership, Fiesta, Project Marvel and the direction of San Antonio.
Rudy makes the case that even if NIOSA isn't personally your thing, that doesn't mean it isn't an important tradition for other San Antonio families.
What You Watching Wednesday turns into a discussion of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos after Mike recommends The Dropout.
Emmitt Smith's comments lead to some quick math: the guys estimate Derrick Henry would need roughly four more huge seasons to seriously threaten the NFL's all-time regular-season rushing record.
The show teases expanded Cowboys coverage before the next In the Shed postgame show following Cowboys-Commanders.
The guys close by reminding everybody that Friday's In the Building officially becomes a Members Only show.
Final Thoughts:
EP. 645 starts with frozen toes, beer farts, giraffes and gorillas and somehow ends in a full-scale debate over the future of San Antonio. Throw in Derrick Henry chasing Emmitt Smith, What You Watching Wednesday and the looming Members Only era, and Zoo Week continues to deliver exactly the kind of chaos you'd expect from ITB.

Rudy Gets the KING, Macklemore CANCELED & Mayweather’s $50M Problem | In the Building | EP. 644
2026/09/15
It’s officially Zoo Week, and tonight Mike, Rudy and Pelón are spending the night at the San Antonio Zoo’s Spekboom Lodge. More importantly, the results are in from the first weekend of ITB football picks. Rudy wins the tiebreaker and claims the only king-size bed, leaving Mike and Pelón to figure out the rest of the sleeping arrangements.
Before heading to the zoo, the guys have plenty to get into. The Cowboys’ defense has Mike already looking at Washington as an enormous early-season game, the Panthers spark a debate about how athletes should act after a loss, and Sean Payton’s decision to hand over play-calling duties gets questioned after Denver’s ugly night. Then things get weird with a potential Schottenheimer Halloween costume, a $50 million judgment involving Floyd Mayweather’s daughter, Jason Kelce fatigue, James Franklin getting punched and the growing controversy involving Robert Kraft and Macklemore.
Topics Covered:
Rudy wins the king-size bed for the San Antonio Zoo sleepover
Mike and Pelón are officially relegated to the other sleeping options
Brian Schottenheimer’s marker-filled visor inspires a possible Halloween costume
Cowboys injuries to DeMarvion Overshown and Malik Hooker
Why Cowboys-Commanders already feels enormous for Dallas
Dak Prescott and the pressure on the Cowboys offense
How should professional athletes act immediately after a bad loss?
Panthers players playing ping pong after giving up 60 points
James Harden, Tim Duncan and past examples of athletes moving on after losses
Sean Payton giving up play-calling duties in Denver
Chiefs-Broncos and the football picks tiebreaker
Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and a Tom Cruise appearance
Floyd Mayweather’s daughter and the $50 million judgment discussed on the show
Mike Taylor BBQ needs judges for the October 17 event
The new People I Want to Punch production makes its debut
Rudy punches the companies putting Jason Kelce everywhere
Mike punches James Franklin over his exchange with a Baltimore Sun reporter
Robert Kraft bars Macklemore from upcoming Gillette Stadium concerts
Macklemore’s comments about Israel and Palestine and Kraft’s response
The guys discuss free speech, consequences and entertainers facing backlash
Friday editions of In the Building move to Members Only
Thursday’s show goes live from the San Antonio Zoo
Key Moments:
King Rudy has been crowned. The football picks end in a 3-3 tie between Mike and Rudy, but the tiebreaker gives Rudy the king-size bed at Spekboom Lodge.
Mike considers dressing as Brian Schottenheimer for Halloween, complete with the now-infamous visor loaded with markers and pens.
The Panthers locker-room controversy turns into a bigger discussion about whether fans expect athletes to look miserable after losses, and whether staying loose can actually help keep a team together.
After Dallas’ defensive disaster, the guys believe the Cowboys badly need to beat Washington with Baltimore and Houston looming afterward.
Rudy’s People I Want to Punch isn’t really Jason Kelce himself. It’s all the companies throwing money at Kelce and putting him seemingly everywhere.
Mike’s punch goes to James Franklin after the Virginia Tech coach repeatedly makes a reporter acknowledge his greeting before allowing him to ask a question.
The guys react to the reported $50 million judgment against Yaya Mayweather stemming from the 2020 stabbing incident discussed on the show and wonder how a judgment that large actually gets paid.
The show closes with a lengthy discussion of Robert Kraft and Macklemore, including Kraft’s stated reasons for barring Macklemore from Gillette Stadium and Macklemore’s response. The hosts debate the consequences entertainers can face for political speech while contrasting that with their previous discussion of Beau French.
Then it’s time to pack up the Texas Cheer Liquor Studios and head to the zoo for what could be a very strange ITB sleepover.
Final Thoughts:
Rudy has the king bed, Mike might be going as Schottenheimer for Halloween, the Cowboys desperately need to get their defense together, and somehow Macklemore and Robert Kraft are beefing before the guys spend the night surrounded by zoo animals. Zoo Week is officially underway, and EP. 644 is only the beginning.
