Alex Nesbitt - Touched by Cancer
2026/10/06
This interview is yet another fascinating one, Alex has been touched by Cancer on a handful  of occasions - indirectly. He has fortunately never had it himself. he talks in detail about his experiences of going through Cancer journeys with people very close to him that had received a diagnosis. This is about what it's like for people touched indirectly. We forget or don't realise the effect that Cancer has on people close to us. Thank you Alex. Support the show
Jo Engel - what can we do ourselves?
2026/10/06
Thank you Jo for this interview. Jo is a Functional Medicine Practitioner. Not only did I discover in this interview that we had a common link. We are both Thyroid Cancer survivors. Jo covers some highly important areas such as nutrition and functional/additional medicines or supplements etc that we can use to better our outcome or beat our prognosis. This is highly educational and so important for people to hear and understand about what is at our disposal to improve our outcomes. Support the show
Craig Russell - A stage 4 Bowel Cancer story
2026/10/06
Thank you so much Craig for this interview. Craig shares a detailed insight into his daughter Kelly's stage 4 Bowel Cancer story. Sadly Kelly passed. However it was her journey and their experience that lead to creating the now very well known campaign called "Catch Up With Cancer", which was started and has gained significant countrywide support to lobby with the government, specifically to put a plan in place to make sure cancer patients get treated quicker - always. https://radiotherapy.org.uk/get-involved/catchupwithcancer/ Craig thank you so much. Craig Whiting - Beating an incurable lung cancer diagnosis
2026/10/06
Wow, wow, wow. This interview with Craig is so important for everyone. Craig received a diagnosis of "incurable lung cancer". Craig refused to accept it and took it upon himself to find a way to beat. And beat it he did! Craig talks in detail about exactly how he did it.  It just goes to show that even when the medical world don't have a cure or answer or tell you that your diagnosis is "incurable", it doesn't mean it is. The take away from this interview is the importance or taking responsibility for your own journey and hence outcome. Craig thank you so much for sharing your story. Support the show
Kerri Colley - What we can ALL do to better our outcome
2026/10/06
Thank you so much for doing this interview Kerri. This is one of those interviews that could have gone on for hours without even noticing the clock. Kerri talks in detail about what she and her family did to better the outcome and journey for their mother. This interview is a significant insight into just some of the things we can all do, outside of what the medical world does or doesn't advise, to better our prognosis and quality of life. This interview has a profound impact on me and I have implemented my own protocol that I continue to develop and tweak - and it works! Thank you Kerri. Support the show
Laura Hendry - Her Cancer Journey
2026/10/06
This interview was, yet again, another fantastic one.  Laura gives a real and honest insight to her journey. The take away from this interview is to understand how important it really is to push the experts and specialists hard to get what you need or want. Whilst we get amazing help from what I call 'the medical world', it is so important to do your own research and to push the experts hard on what the options to deal with your cancer really are. I can speak from experience that if I hadn't taken on some responsibility for my own journey, I wouldn't have received half of the benefits or treatments that I have. Thank you Laura Support the show
Pauline Symons - Leukemia patient
2026/10/06
Firstly thank you Pauline for this fantastic interview. In addition to talking about Pauline's journey, which in itself is a real insight, we talked about 'other people' and what they say and do. By this I mean what non cancer patients, friends, family, acquaintances say to cancer patients. Maybe controversial things or insensitive things. This part of the interview is a real eye opener and goes a long way, I hope, to educating people about the things they say and do and the affect or impact it has with the patient or survivor. Nigel Skilton - Vocal Chord Cancer Survivor - An inspirational warrior
2026/04/30
Nigel's brightness and positivity is nothing short of inspirational. In this interview Nigel speaks openly about his diagnosis and radiotherapy treatment - a real eye opener. Wow. Nigel is now doing amazing work in the cancer world and it's a real privilege to interview him and get to know him. This interview is full of crucial information for anyone about to go through their own journey. Thank you Nigel. Support the show
Amanda Leven - Given 6 weeks - still going 14 months later
2026/02/19
This interview with Amanda is awesone. She is a ray of light and demomstrates the energy required to succeed and live with cancer. Listen to this if you want to hear and see what it takes. Amanda thank you for this amazing interview. I look forward to doing a second/follow up one with you. Always grateful. Support the show
The Orange Foundation - CEO, Michael Gregory
2025/02/25
The Orange Foundation are doing amazing things for Cancer patients. Specifically funding treatments and more the the NHS either don't provide or will not fund or pay for. It is becming more and more widely known that in addition to the traditional treatments provided by the NHS, Cancer patients need to access other services, products and treatments that can help to fight and beat their illness. For example the Orange Foundation have approved the funding of a course of Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber therapy for me. I would not have been able to access this treatment of it wasn't for the support of Michael and the Orange Foundation charity. This interview not only talks about what they do but also the back story of how they were founded. Sadlly following the passing of Michael's wife due to cancer - who's favourite colour was orange. Hence their name. https://theorange-foundation.org/ Support the show
Working with Cancer - Barbara Wilson
2025/01/07
It's all too common that people who have received cancer diagnoses, suffer issues at work. I have personally suffered and have spoken to a significant number of people who have had negative experiences with employers. Likewise Employers also struggle to manage staff and the situation faced as a result of someone being diagnosed with Cancer. This interview is with Barbara Wilson. She specialises in working with employers and employees to best manage their "working with cancer" situation. Thank you so so much for this interview Barbara. Support the show

Debbie Donnison - In honour of 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month'
2024/10/16
A timely interview - published in Breast Cancer Awareness Month Debbie is living with secondary breast cancer - never having had a primary breast cancer diagnosis. It is extremely rare but it happens. This is a phenomenal interview where Debbie speaks so candidly about living with cancer and shares her story about dealing with her young son beating Leukemia - TWICE!! I am so grateful to have Debbie as my mentor.  Debbie is so pragmatic and philosphical. It was a real pleasure to interview her. An inspiration to all women and anyone suffering their own cancer journey. Thank you Debbie.  Support the show
Emma Hallam - Late effects (of cancer treatment) clinic pioneer
2024/09/17
This is a crucial interview to have carried out with Emma. With survivorship from cancer diagnoses being so high now - over 75%, people are living a lot longer and therefore living with the side effects or late effects of various surgeries and treatments used to beat the cancer itself. Emma's dedication to helping people who are sufferinjg is so apparent in this interview and her understanding and awareness of what survivors go through, lead to a quite unbelievable campaign to source funds, staff and more from the NHS and charity systems, resulting in the first 'late effects clinic' being set up in the UK. Emma's amazing work has lead to there now being over 25 late effects clinics across the UK. Thank you Emma. Support the show
Chris Lewis - Blood Cancer survivor and founder of the Simpal charity
2024/09/05
Chris is an incredible guy. He tells an amazing story about his journey following a blood cancer diagnosis. Chris faced the news at one point that he may only have 6 months to live but beat the odds and is now all clear and in full health. Chris is yet another cancer survivor that has gone on to do some incredible work, helping others. Chris set up Simpal (https://www.yoursimpal.com/) and provides mobile phones and contracts to people who NEED internet and phone services but sadly can't afford it.  The number of people that Chris has helped is now in the hundreds and provides a crucial support function for people not just suffering due to cancer but also many other traumas and life affecting situations and illnesses.  Chris is one hell of a guy!
