Clint Claasen: A peak behind the curtain of a CX Promoter
2026/10/16
Clint started racing in 2005 and quickly worked his way through the ranks, winning a Cat 1 XC National Championship in 2009 and turning pro in 2010 with numerous top national finishes and regional wins in all disciplines. Clint is known and respected as a contender in any race he enters; however, his image has risen above results alone. His work in the community developing other riders and organizing events shows he is committed to cycling and growing the sport he loves.   These days Clint leads Clipped in for Life, an organization he founded alongside his wife that does a whole host of cycling-related programming, race promotion, youth development, education, and more.    Clint is fresh off double wins in the single speed category at opening weekend of SAC CX and looking toward an excellent season racing and promoting.    Check out Clipped in for Life and consider supporting this non profit that is making a significant difference in the cycling community.   Use "STU10" at Performance Bike for a discount on qualifying items. Drew "Dizzle" Dillman: Lifetime Grand Prix adds a Character
2026/07/24
Unless you've been under the biggest rock in the gravel world, you know Drew Dillman well. "Dizzle," as he's known on his main podcast, Bonk Bros., is famous for putting his foot in his mouth and saying some outlandish stuff -- all in the spirit of good laughs with his buds. If you have ever wondered, "is this guy real, or a cartoon character?" -- well, you're not alone. I have wondered the same -- and we get into it.  But that's not all, we also talk about his recent inclusion into the Lifetime Grand Prix, Lunchbox Racing, Ignition Coach Co., and his plan to acclimate for his first ever Leadville in August. It's a great hour with a great dude. This episode is sponsored in part by Silca, Performance Bike, and Hummingbird Fuels. Stephen Fitzgerald: Can Chinese Gravel Ruin Rodeo Labs?
2026/07/10
With a long history as a designer and rippin' roadie, Stephen set out with a handful of friends to create a different kind of cycling team. It was 2014 and Rodeo Adventure Labs was born. These days Stephen is still a ripper, still creating inclusive community on and off the bike, but he's also created some of the most capable and sought after bikes, wheels, and innovations in the boutique gravel space. In this ep Stephen talks about the influx of chinese gravel brands and his surprising take on that and so much more.   This episode is sponsored in part by Silca, Performance Bike, and Hummingbird Fuels. Bikepacking is the Spirit of Gravel - Lost Sierra w/ Forest Baker
2026/06/28
After an amazing weekend in the Lost Sierra with 40 new friends at Beckwourth Peak High Camp I had to sit down with it's founder/owner Forest Baker to talk all things gravel in the Lost Sierra. We recap Lost & Found Gravel Grinder, look toward the start line of Bones to Blue Bikepacking race, and even chat a bit about the new FKT laid down at Tour Divide recently, a race Forest has completed twice. The spirit of gravel is alive and well, in bikepacking. All this and more on this episode of Gravel Things.   Big thanks to those who support us, shop at Silca.cc using code "gravelthingspodcast15," good through the end of July. Paige Onweller: From P.A. to Podiums
2026/04/03
A former collegiate middle distance runner, Paige had only ever ridden a bike to rehab injuries until that all changed in 2020. A few events on Zwift followed by some TT's and then her first ever mass start gravel event in 2021 was the beginning of a beautiful journey on the podiums at Unbound, Rule of Three, Gravel Nationals, and more. Her big break came after a solo win at Big Sugar a few years back where he meticulous prep and calm confidence proved she is a woman to be feared on the bike.    I sat down with Paige at her home just outside of Bentonville, AK to talk all things gravel. Paige brings a unique perspective to the world of gravel given her long experience as a Physician's Assistant and a relative newcomer to the sport of cycling. We talked Valley of Tears, Mid South, cyclists and GLP-1's, plus a few games and fantasy drafts. Paige brings her scientific way of thinking to every decision on the bike and it was a treat to work through her process on everything from tire selection to race prep. This episode is sponsored in part by Silca and True Form Design. Joe Goettl: Nothing MID about Mid South
2026/03/20
Just 24 hours after a breakout performance at the MID SOUTH where Joe Solo'd to a 10th place finish among a stacked field of serious hitters we sat down on the patio in Stillwater, OK where the spirit of gravel is alive and well to talk about his huge result and way more.   Joe did not hold back in sharing his thoughts on the Friday 1PM start, his bid to get into the Lifetime Grand Prix via the wildcard, Co-host confessions, a game, and of course listener questions from our live audience.   Be sure to support the show while supporting your habit of using only the best equipment from Silca.cc    A very chunky MID SOUTH and I did not bounce a bottle out of their bottle cages and a freshly waxed chain kept me rolling fast.
