Sometimes you make decisions you can't undo. At Belshazzar's drunken feast, the misuse of Jerusalem's sacred vessels led to the terrifying hand writing on the wall that announced God’s judgment for his enemies. But God's hand offered something different to his people suffering in exile––the hope of restoration.

In Daniel 4, God finally brings King Nebuchadnezzar to his knees, passing judgment on the ways he has offended the True King and dehumanized those entrusted to his care. Yet even in God's judgment we find mercy, compassion, and an opportunity to repent–and thanks be to Christ! He can take our disfigured souls and make them whole.

Evan Wickham, pastor of Park Hill Church, explores how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse Nebuchadnezzar’s demand to worship a golden image and choose faithful obedience even under threat of a blazing furnace. Key themes include how empire seeks our attention, affection, and use; the power of friendship to help us resist compromise; and the promise that God is present in our fires, able to rescue us, and with us even if deliverance does not come this side of heaven.

God has set you somewhere. And sometimes in the places God sets us–families, workplaces, nations–we face trouble. What do you do when you're facing trouble in Babylon? Pray, don't just act. Act, don't just pray. Because Babylon may not be home, but it is your assignment.

If we’re going to be faithful to Jesus in Babylon, with imperfect human governments and sometimes truly wicked political leaders, we need to get really good at recognizing and refusing the ways the dominant culture tries to woo our hearts and win our loyalty. What's at stake is the core of our identity as those who belong to God. Daniel's answer? Don't eat the king's food.

What do we do when our world is falling apart? How can we carry hope and live wisely in the midst of political turmoil, spiritual warfare, and personal tragedy? What does faithfulness to King Jesus look like in cultures that often openly reject him? Join us for a new ten-week series through the book of Daniel, an ancient prophet who experienced his homeland’s brutal downfall at the hands of an enemy empire, the temptation to compromise with the newly dominant culture, and the spiritual struggle to trust God and love others in the midst of it all. Our intro sermon emphasizes repentance, honest lament, and choosing love as we hold fast to the truth that God is sovereign and Jesus is on the way to restore all things.

We close our Spiritual Gifts series with a message from elder Luis Mellado of Park Hill Church. He explores the spiritual gifts of leadership and administration, explaining how visionaries and organizers work together, and how leadership is ultimately the use of influence that anyone can develop. Using examples from Scripture and personal stories, Luis highlights Jesus’ model of servant leadership—vision, credibility, humility, focus on others, and love—and calls listeners to use their God-given influence to lead and serve well.

Pastor Meghan leads our first ever All Family Gathering at All Saints Church, exploring the spiritual gift of helping. Through the story of Moses, Aaron, and Hur, this message demonstrates how helpers notice needs, offer strength, and enable God’s work to be done. Listen now to learn more!

The gift of giving is simple: God puts something in our hands, and then empowers us to give it away. How does giving generously shape our character and desires to be less like the world and more like Jesus? And what can giving generously look like in our communities today? Listen now to find out!

The gift of distinguishing between spirits is the God-given ability to discern the presence of spiritual activity and/or the source of a spiritual experience. God gives this gift to protect His church from deception, demons, and destruction, and to help us pursue the good. But how do we do it? Mature discernment is cultivated as we test the spirits, train our senses, and ultimately, trust Jesus. Listen now for more!

Pastor Sonny Smith from Detroit Church continues our Spiritual Gifts series with a message on the gifts of tongues and interpretation. He emphasizes that the gifts point beyond themselves to the lordship of Jesus, help spread of the gospel to all nations, and strengthen believers. This powerful message challenges the church to be open to all that Holy Spirit has and, more importantly, all of who this Third Person of the Trinity is. Listen now for more!

Jesus heals today, continuing his mission of restoring all creation to shalom. He accomplishes this work through both ordinary and miraculous means, and he uses the prayers of the saints to do it. But what do these spiritual gifts look like among us? And how should we practically pursue them amidst real sorrow and suffering from sickness and death? May the Holy Spirit grant us power and faith to pursue God's whole mission as we embrace the truth and mystery of Christ's gospel!

This Sunday we explore the spiritual gifts of faith and miracles, using the wedding at Cana as a model for how God meets real needs when we pray, obey, and invite Jesus into our life. The Holy Spirit continues to give ordinary saints extraordinary gifts today, and our Father delights to make a way for his children when all else seems lost. Listen now for more!

From ancient times to today, God has always used faithful teaching to form His people. Jesus, the greatest Teacher who ever lived, taught truth with authority and integrity so that God's people might become more like him. Join us as we explore the gift of teaching and God's design to mature His church in Christlikeness in love.

According to Jesus, God delights in showing mercy. Those who have this gift help others believe the cross counts for them, even on their worst day. But what is mercy? And how does this gift intersect with justice, forgiveness and accountability? Through the lens of the Good Samaritan, Jake Bishop explores these questions and more, equipping the Church to live mercifully in our everyday lives.
