Sixteen-year-old Skylar Neese vanished in the early morning hours of July 6, 2012, after sneaking out of her parents’ home to meet friends, an act her family believed meant she’d be back by morning. When surveillance footage shows Skylar willingly getting into a car, police assume she’s a runaway, but her parents know something isn’t right and begin a relentless search on their own. In April 2014, the quiet town of Bardstown, Kentucky was shattered when 48-year-old Kathy Netherland and her 16-year-old daughter, Samantha, were found brutally murdered in their home. This episode explores who Kathy and Samantha were, the disturbing details of the crime scene, the investigation that followed, and the mysterious black Chevy Impala seen near their home on the night of the killings.  Helle Crafts was a Danish-born flight attendant who built a globe-trotting career before settling into family life in Connecticut. When she vanished after returning from an international flight, the explanations given didn’t match the woman her friends and colleagues knew. In the early morning hours of May 25, 2013, Bardstown Police Officer, 33-year-old Jason Ellis had just signed off from his shift and was heading home to his wife and 2 young sons. As Jason exited the Blue Grass Highway on Exit 34, he came to a stop as the ramp was blocked with tree branches. On December 27th, 1986, 20-year-old Cara Knott set out on what should have been a routine 40-minute drive home through San Diego County, but she never arrived. On Sept 11, 2014, 46-year-old Tammy Jo Blanton did not show up at work, prompting concern from her co-workers who immediately contacted police requesting a welfare check. On the night of December 30th, 2000 in the Setagaya Ward in Tokyo Japan, the Miyazawa family which included Mikio his wife Yasuko and their 2 children Niina and Rei would be brutally murdered in their home. The killer made some head scratching decisions that to even this day nobody can fully understand. Between 1974 and 1975 a serial killer was believed to be targeting members of the LGBTQ community in San Francisco. The suspect was believed to go to bars and diners, and sketch caricature and cartoons on napkins, he would then approach men and strike up a conversation. He would eventually leave with those men, only to end up stabbing and killing them. Since he was known for drawing and sketching before killing his victims, the suspect became known as “The Doodler”. 5 men were found stabbed to death and a 6th was later tied to the case, however to this day, the killer, or the “doodler’s” identity is unknown.    If you have any information about murders connected to the Doodler, please call the San Francisco PD’s 24-hour tip line at 415-575-4444 or text them at TIP411. On October 12th, 1974, Arlis Perry would get into an argument with her husband Bruce Perry and decided to go pray at the Stanford Memorial Church where they lived on the Stanford University Campus.
