2026/10/21
(S3E57) – Ian Blurton’s Future Now Canadian underground rock legend Ian Blurton returns to the show (S3E57) to talk about album number three from his band Ian Blurton’s Future Now, titled Imperial Filth, that drops on Friday, Oct. 23rd. Let me tell you, it is more greatness from a band who is one of the best and most consistent around. We talk all about Imperial Filth, we share our love of Cheap Trick and how their influence made it into this record, and determine that we both love Kiss - The Elder. Ian is great, the new record is amazing, and our chat is so much fun. Go buy the record then come listen!
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E56) – Shovelhead
2026/10/19
(S3E56) – Shovelhead You may have heard me mention the killer new record from New Jersey trio Shovelhead, titled A Place of Dead Roads, maybe on my Doom Charts list or as part of my top 12 for Q3. What you may not know is that these guys have been around since the mid-90s and had two killer records and an EP from the early 2000s, coming up with bands like Solace and Atomic Bitchwax. After 18 years or so, the band is now back, with A Place of Dead Roads being that announcement to the world. So on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour, Jim and George from the band join to talk about the record, why they are back, the band’s origins, and so much more.  There are some amazing stories told from back in the day, so please check out our chat and buy the new Shovelhead record!
A R&T HHH Production: Back In The Late 1900s w/Jay & Rich: Walter Schreifels
2026/10/16
(S2E13) - Back In The Late 1900's w/Jay & Rich: Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits) When Jay and I think about our favorite and most important musicians in our lifetime, both of us would put Walter Schreifels at the top of our lists. As part of the hardcore legends Gorilla Biscuits and Youth Of Today, to one of the greatest bands of any genre, Quicksand, to his ridiculously underrated other projects like Rival Schools, Walter’s music has been with us for decades, always being awesome. This continues today with the killer new Quicksand record, Bring On the Psychics, that has Walter and the band sounding as good as they did in the 1990s. We talk about the new album and so much more, as Walter gave us a ton of his time for us to fan boy out. This was an honor and some amazing stuff, please check it out.
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E55) – Quarter 3 Review w/ Rob In The ‘Hood
2026/10/15
(S3E55) – Quarter 3 Review w/ Rob In The ‘Hood It’s that time again! Special guest host Rob In The ‘Hood joins us to go through our top 12 lists for Q3. It was another amazing quarter of new Heavy Underground music, so lists were agonized over to get down to 12. Come listen and check out what we were digging for the last three months. No spoilers, but we all had different records at the top!
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E54) – Snake Mountain Revival
2026/10/12
(S3E54) – Snake Mountain Revival Snake Mountain Revival is a band that I love, but  I was not sure we were getting a new record after their amazing last one, Everything in Sight, which everyone should check out. Alas, you can understand my excitement when my Ripple Music monthly subscription added The Divide, the new record from the Virginia Beach psych trio. So on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E54), we have the band on the show to talk about The Divide, dropping via Ripple Music on October 23,2026, and so much more, including the origins of the band and their sound, welcoming their new guitar player, the Virginia Beach scene, and so much more.  The Divide is a dark psych trip that I have listened to a couple dozen times now, so when I say an AOTY contender, I mean it. Go check out the singles from the record, then come listen to our interview.
A R&T HHH Production: Back In The Late 1900s w/Jay & Rich: JD Pinkus (S2E12)
2026/10/09
(S2E12) - Back In The Late 1900's w/Jay & Rich: JD Pinkus How cool is it that we had JD Pinkus on Back In The Late 1900's w/Jay & Rich??? I mean he was in the Butthole Surfers during the most classic period, has played in the Melvins, is responsible for one of the most killer records ever with his trio Honky (Balls Out In, IYKYK), has opened for Clutch multiple times playing his killer psych banjo stuff, and is now part of the supergroup Gatta Morta that just dropped their amazing new EP. We get stories about all of this and so much more. It got dark, literally, not figuratively, as JD was talking to us from the woods of North Carolina as the sun was setting. This was such a great interview and JD is awesome.  Please check it out!!!

A R&T HHH Production: Back In The Late 1900s w/Jay & Rich: Doni Blair from Toadies
2026/10/02
(S2E11) - Back In The Late 1900's w/Jay & Rich: Doni Blair from Toadies You couldn’t go 20 minutes without hearing Toadies hit Possum Kingdom in 1994 and 1995, but did you know the band is still going strong, even releasing a killer new record, The Charmer, recorded by the late great Steve Albini, just this year? When I say killer, I mean some of their best work in decades and one of the coolest records of the year by anyone. To catch us up on all things Toadies, bassist Doni Blair joins the show! We talk about The Charmer, including some cool Albini stories, their current tour with Local H, and so much more. We may even mention Doni’s old punk band (That Rich loves) and some other very cool stories. Doni also has an amazing Podcast, Why Bass? which has had some amazing guests. Please listen and also go grab a copy of The Charmer!

I love all of Matt’s work and he is also a super cool guy, so go check out The Flood and all of his other projects, then come back and listen to our chat!
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E51) - Auralayer
2026/09/28
(S3E51) – Auralayer Back in 2023, this band put out their killer debut, Thousand Petals, that I just loved. Now, the Greenville, South Carolina trio Auralayer is back with full length number two, titled Into The Aura Lair, which takes their awesome version of grunge/stoner/sludge/psych to a whole new level. So on this episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E51), we welcome Thomas, Jake, and Harold to the show to talk about their killer new record that is dropping on December 4th (first single on Bandcamp NOW!) as well as the band’s influences, working with Phillip Cope (Kylesa) on the boards, and so much more, including a Days of the New Green album love session with Rich and Jake. Please check out the single, pre order the album, then come listen to our chat!

A R&T HHH Production: Back In The Late 1900s w/Jay & Rich: Dug Pinnick from King’s X (S2E10)
2026/09/20
(S2E10) – Back In The Late 1900s w/Jay & Rich: Dug Pinnick from King’s X One of my top five favorite bands of all time is King’s X, and on this episode Jay and I got to speak with Dug Pinnick for 75 minutes, which is still pretty unbelievable to type. We talk about so much, including some of his amazing side projects and, of course, King’s X. Dug is so great, and this is a bucket list level guest, so please check this out. If you are a fan you will love this, if you are new to the band, you will soon see why King’s X and Dug are the best. w/video: https://youtu.be/Yt4UqqD0XV4 www.kingsxrocks.com https://www.facebook.com/share/1FVg2FhD4o/ https://www.instagram.com/kingsxofficial?stkn=MWh3cjdpZzdweTBvZQ==
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E49) – Heavy Temple & Crystal Spiders
2026/08/21
(S3E49) – Heavy Temple & Crystal Spiders A first for Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E49), as two of our favorite bands join the show. Both Brenna from Crystal Spiders and Nighthawk from Heavy Temple chat with me about a whole bunch of things, but mostly their joint Crystal Temple Tour happening this October, including a stop at our friend Jason Doome’s amazing Grand Rapids Doom Fest. We cover so much ground about both bands, like DIY ethos, touring, how great Amos Rifkin is, and so much more. I use the word interview loosely here, as we just all talk a lot about whatever. This was one of my favorites ever (my face still hurts from laughing) so please listen and go see the bands if they are anywhere near you in October!!!
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E48) – Jason Doome w/ a Grand Rapids Doom Fest III Preview
2026/08/07
(S3E48) – Jason Doome w/ a Grand Rapids Doom Fest III Preview  One of my favorite people in the scene joins me for this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E48), as Jason Doome comes to talk about Grand Rapids Doom Fest III, for which he is the founder and curator. The event is Saturday, October 10, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM at The Pyramid Scheme in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has become a staple in the heavy underground fest annual schedule. Come check out Jason and I talking about all sorts of stuff, including the bands playing and how everyone can check out the show live, without leaving the comfort of your home. If you are within a couple hundred miles you really should go if you can…because the lineup is pretty awesome and Jason rules.
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E47) – Mothertomb
2026/07/27
(S3E47) – Mothertomb The best part of this show for me is that I get to talk to the bands releasing music today that I love. It is even more fun when I get four music nerds to not only talk about their music, but also the bands that are  important to them as musicians and as people. I get to do this with all four members of the killer band from Michigan, Mothertomb, on the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E47). Our main topic of discussion is their amazing debut record, Dying To Live, which is a must hear and will be one of my favorites of the year, but we get into all sorts of stuff, like the band’s history and the music that shaped them, including some very cool stories about one of my favorites, Type O Negative. We get to see a bunch of tattoos too. We had so much fun and could have talked for hours. It was an honor to do the first ever interview with the band. Go buy Dying To Live, listen to it a few times, then come check out our chat.
