Description

Former professional football players Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose are now closer to their 70s than their 20s, but they still love to laugh, learn, and refuse to let the old man in their heads take a step through the front door. Join Bo and Joe as they chat with their friends from all walks of life about aging, living life to its fullest, and everything in between. We may be old, but we're not going anywhere! Kim Bokamper was a first round draft choice of the Miami Dolphins in 1976. The former linebacker and defensive end received Pro Bowl honors in 1979 and was a member of the Dolphins' fabled "Killer B's" Defense before becoming a popular South Florida media personality and restauranteur. Joe Rose played tight end for the Dolphins from 1980-1985 and most famously caught Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino's first-ever NFL touchdown pass in 1983. Rose has spent more than three decades entertaining and informing South Florida sports fans on both the radio and television.

85. The Dolphins May Be Better Than We Thought | Bo & Joe See REAL Progress
2026/09/30
The Miami Dolphins didn't beat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs — but Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose walked away from the game feeling a whole lot better about where this young team is headed. On this episode of Out to Pasture with Bo & Joe, Bo and Joe break down what they believe was easily Miami's most encouraging performance of the young season. From improved play along the offensive and defensive lines to aggressive play-calling, a 17-play touchdown drive and rookies gaining valuable experience, the Dolphins finally showed signs that their youth movement may be starting to take shape. They also explain why they're not giving up on Malik Willis. Joe loves Willis' athleticism and big arm, while Bo looks at the development happening around the young quarterback and believes those inexperienced receivers should continue getting better as they learn the NFL game. But the progress comes with a devastating blow: De'Von Achane is lost with a torn ACL. Bo and Joe discuss what losing arguably Miami's most explosive offensive weapon means, why Achane had become so important as a leader, and how Ollie Gordon II, Jaylen Wright and Malik Washington could be asked to fill the enormous void. Plus: the controversial roughing call on Chop Robinson, the offensive line's best performance of the season, Ollie Gordon's expanding role and a trip to Minnesota where former Dolphins coach Brian Flores — and former Dolphin Andrew Van Ginkel — will be waiting. 84. The Dolphins FINALLY Showed Us Something | Nothing to Hyde
2026/09/30
The Miami Dolphins are 0-3. But for the first time this season, Dave Hyde and Kim Bokamper walked away from a loss feeling encouraged. On the latest episode of Out to Pasture Presents: Nothing to Hyde, award-winning columnist Dave Hyde and former Miami Dolphins defender Kim Bokamper break down Miami's loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs—and explain why the final score doesn't tell the entire story. The word of the week? Progress. The Dolphins were still in the game in the fourth quarter against one of the NFL's top teams. Malik Willis made plays with both his arm and his legs. Rookie Jacob Rodriguez came up with an interception. Chris Bell delivered a 44-yard reception. And even after De'Von Achane left the game just five plays into the afternoon, Miami put together an impressive 92-yard opening drive. But there's still plenty to clean up. Dave and Bo dig into the penalties that continue to hurt Miami at the worst possible times—including a penalty that wiped out a sack and another that erased a touchdown. They also debate Chop Robinson's controversial hit on Patrick Mahomes and whether NFL defenders are being put in an impossible position when trying to pressure quarterbacks. Then comes potentially the biggest concern of all: De'Von Achane's injury. Bo calls it devastating for a Dolphins offense that could least afford to lose its most proven playmaker. What does Achane's absence mean for Malik Willis and an offense already relying heavily on rookies and unproven talent? And with Brian Flores coming up next, Bo and Dave revisit Flores' complicated tenure as Dolphins head coach. Bo explains why he remains firmly in Flores' corner, while Dave offers his perspective on why Flores was a talented coach brought into an organization whose circumstances made conflict almost inevitable. Plus, Dave updates his investigation into Don Shula's two missing victories, Bo tells a hilarious story about how the Dolphins avoided paying his All-Rookie bonus, and the guys debate which famous group of brothers they'd most want to hang out with: the Tkachuks, Kelces, Mannings, Blackwoods—or the Hanson Brothers from Slap Shot. The Dolphins didn't get the win. But did we finally see the first signs that this young team is starting to become something? 83. The Dolphins Have a BIG Problem — And It’s Not Malik Willis
2026/09/23
The Miami Dolphins showed some encouraging signs against the San Francisco 49ers — and then the third quarter happened. On this episode of Out to Pasture with Bo & Joe, Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose break down what went wrong in San Francisco and why the Dolphins’ problems go well beyond quarterback Malik Willis. Bo and Joe dig into a defense that has yet to record a sack, the lack of pressure on opposing quarterbacks, costly coverage breakdowns, pass-protection issues, special-teams mistakes and the challenges that come with relying on one of the NFL’s youngest rosters. They also discuss why Willis needs more help around him before anyone can truly determine whether he’s the Dolphins’ long-term answer at quarterback. And with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs coming to Miami for the Dolphins’ home opener, things aren’t getting any easier. What does Bo want to see next? Young players improving, fewer mental mistakes and a team that begins turning effort into execution. Plus, Bo unveils his new solution for fixing the Dolphins’ special teams: “Balls of Fury.” You’ll have to hear this one for yourself. Out to Pasture with Bo & Joe features former Miami Dolphins linebacker Kim Bokamper and longtime Dolphins broadcaster Joe Rose talking football, life and everything in between. 82. Can This Dolphins Team Actually Get Better? | Nothing to Hyde
2026/09/21
Two games into the season, the Miami Dolphins are 0-2. But for Dave Hyde and Kim Bokamper, the biggest question isn't simply when will they win? It's can this team actually get better? On the latest episode of Out to Pasture Presents: Nothing to Hyde, award-winning columnist Dave Hyde and former Miami Dolphins defender Kim Bokamper examine where this extremely young Dolphins team stands after its loss to the San Francisco 49ers—and whether there are legitimate reasons to believe things can improve as the season goes along. For one half against San Francisco, there were encouraging signs. Miami established the run with De'Von Achane, controlled the football and gave Malik Willis opportunities to make plays. Then the second half arrived, the secondary broke down, Nick Bosa began wreaking havoc, and the game quickly got away from Miami. Bo points to the challenge facing a roster filled with rookies and young players who are learning on the fly—while Jeff Hafley and an inexperienced coaching staff are learning right along with them. Dave looks back at the 2019 Dolphins, who were awful early before steadily improving and somehow finishing with five wins. Can this group make the same kind of progress, or are the circumstances simply too different? Dave and Bo also dig into some of Miami's biggest concerns through two games: the lack of a consistent pass rush, instability along the defensive front, a young secondary being asked to do too much and an offensive line that had its hands full with Nick Bosa. And with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs coming next, those problems aren't about to get any easier. Then there's Malik Willis. Dave and Bo agree that it's far too early to make a final judgment on Miami's quarterback. Willis has shown flashes, his athleticism has allowed him to create plays under pressure, and he's operating with an inexperienced group around him. But by the end of this season, Miami needs an answer to perhaps its biggest question: Do the Dolphins have their quarterback of the future? And because this is Nothing to Hyde, football is only part of the conversation. Bo unveils his latest NFL press box food grade, and San Francisco comes to play: chicken, crispy fries, three kinds of hot dogs, an omelet station and enough free candy for Bo to start stuffing his backpack. The 49ers earn an 85, taking over the top spot from Las Vegas. The Dolphins may be 0-2, but this season was always going to be about more than the standings. Now the question is whether Dave and Bo can start seeing the progress that tells us Miami is actually building toward something. 81. Bo Answers Your Dolphins Comments! | Comment Roulette with Seth Levit
2026/09/18
Joe Rose is out this week, which means Kim Bokamper is stuck with Out to Pasture Executive Producer and Fish Tank co-host Seth Levit — and Bo makes sure Seth knows exactly how thrilled he is about the arrangement. With Joe away, Bo and Seth debut Comment Roulette, digging into the comments from recent episodes and giving Dolphins fans a chance to drive the conversation. And nothing is off limits. Bo responds to questions about Malik Willis and whether he can become Miami’s long-term answer at quarterback, criticism of the offensive line, the lack of pressure from Chop Robinson, expectations for a roster loaded with rookies, and whether the Dolphins defense can possibly slow down the San Francisco 49ers. Bo says determining whether Willis is the guy is the single most important question Miami needs to answer this season. But Comment Roulette quickly goes beyond football. Bo responds to fans criticizing him and Dave Hyde for constantly talking over each other, settles the important debate over what belongs on a hot dog — ketchup and mayo definitely do NOT make the cut — remembers the old Bird Bowl days and Jim “Crash” Jensen, and makes an absolutely outrageous promise about what he’ll do if the Dolphins somehow win more than six games. Bo also explains why fans may need patience with such a young Dolphins roster. His analogy: Miami has essentially torn the house down to the foundation, and now it’s time to start building it back up. Your comments. Bo’s answers. Seth trying to survive the episode. 80. The Dolphins WILL Beat the Raiders | Nothing to Hyde
2026/09/07
On the latest episode of Out to Pasture Presents: Nothing to Hyde, award-winning columnist Dave Hyde and former Miami Dolphins defender Kim Bokamper look ahead to Miami's season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders and discuss what we should really expect from one of the youngest teams in the NFL. With as many as nine rookies potentially playing significant roles, Dave and Bo explain why this Dolphins season shouldn't necessarily be judged by wins and losses. Instead, they'll be watching for development from players like Jacob Rodriguez, Patrick Paul, Chop Robinson and Miami's other young building blocks - and whether Jeff Hafley's new regime can establish a sustainable foundation for the future. But first, the Raiders. Dave believes Las Vegas may have done Miami a favor by starting Kirk Cousins, while Bo explains why he expects this young Dolphins roster to look considerably different by the middle of the season than it does in Week 1. Then the conversation heads into Dolphins history - and the stories start flying. Bo reveals that Al Davis tried to acquire him from Miami immediately after the 1976 NFL Draft, only for Bokamper to be told he'd have to call Don Shula himself and say he refused to play for the Dolphins. His response? You can probably guess. From there, Dave and Bo revisit the fascinating shared history between two franchises that once ruled the AFC, including the legendary Sea of Hands game, the radically different philosophies of Don Shula and Al Davis, a mysterious Raiders playbook that once appeared in Larry Csonka's locker, and one of the strangest Raiders draft-pick stories you'll ever hear. Plus: •Why Jeff Hafley can say this season isn't about wins and losses •What Miami needs to see from its massive rookie class •Why continuity matters when building a winning NFL roster •The similarities between today's Dolphins and the 2019 rebuild •Why Dolphins-Raiders has been intertwined for six decades •Bo's incredible Al Davis story from the 1976 NFL Draft •Don Shula vs. Al Davis: two completely different ways to build a winner •Celebrity sightings on the NFL sidelines •And Dave finally remembers the name Nothing to Hyde…mostly And after all the analysis, Dave and Bo make their Week 1 picks: Dolphins win. 79. The Dolphins Are About to Find Out What They Really Have
2026/09/02
The Miami Dolphins’ 53-man roster is set — at least for now — and Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose are taking their first hard look at the team Miami will bring into the regular season. With the opener against the Raiders approaching, Bo & Joe break down a dramatically reshaped roster loaded with young players who are about to experience NFL football at an entirely different level. From three rookie receivers expected to contribute immediately to an inexperienced secondary and major questions about where the Dolphins' pass rush will come from, there is plenty Miami still needs to figure out. But the biggest question may be Malik Willis. For the first time, Willis enters a season as the guy. Bo & Joe discuss what they need to see from Miami's quarterback, whether the Dolphins have surrounded him with enough weapons to properly evaluate him, and why determining whether Willis can become the franchise quarterback could be more important than Miami's final win-loss record this season. Plus, Bo & Joe discuss the Dolphins' tight ends, the importance of getting this young roster meaningful experience, and somehow turn a visit to Jason Taylor's Foundation offices into a chance for one viewer to win a ping-pong table from JT's old celebrity tournament. Yes, seriously. The preseason evaluations are over. Now the Dolphins are about to find out what they really have. 78. Can the Dolphins Really Win? | Nothing to Hyde
2026/08/31
Dave welcomes everyone back for Episode 2 of Nothing to Hyde…by once again calling it Nowhere to Hide. Fortunately, Kim Bokamper is there to keep Dave somewhat on track as the guys tackle some much bigger questions surrounding the Miami Dolphins heading into the 2026 season. The Dolphins have one of the youngest rosters in football, could start as many as eight rookies, and are coming off what Bo calls one of the most “hideous” three-game stretches of preseason football he's ever seen. So what exactly should Dolphins fans expect this season? Dave and Bo discuss Malik Willis, the addition of former Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord, Miami's young receiving corps, the massive role this rookie class could play and why this season may need to be judged by something other than wins and losses. Then Dave poses the question nobody wants to hear: Is Miami more likely to win four games…or none at all? But this is Nothing to Hyde, so naturally the conversation doesn't stay on football. Dave celebrates Warren Buffett's 96th birthday with an incredible story about calling Berkshire Hathaway and unexpectedly finding himself talking to Buffett for 30 minutes. That sends Bo down memory lane with stories involving Buffett, Don Shula, Edwin Pope—and his daughter having absolutely no idea she was standing near one of the richest men in the world. And finally, the guys tackle perhaps the most important Dolphins debate of all: Who has the greatest mustache in Miami Dolphins history? Jacob Rodriguez? Larry Csonka? Manny Fernandez? Or is Bo shamelessly voting for himself? Plus, Bo reveals why his daughters once cried when he shaved his mustache—and the questionable facial-hair decision he made immediately before his wedding. 77. Tua’s Miami Return: Bo & Joe Wonder What’s Left in the Tank
2026/08/27
Tua Tagovailoa is coming back to Miami — but this time, he’ll be on the other sideline. With the Atlanta Falcons visiting Hard Rock Stadium for the Dolphins’ preseason finale, Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose discuss Tua’s return to South Florida, the reception he could receive from Dolphins fans, and why the former Miami quarterback has plenty to prove as he battles for Atlanta’s starting job. Then Bo & Joe turn their attention to a Miami Dolphins roster that is still very much under construction. With final cuts approaching, they debate how many players currently in camp will actually make the 53-man roster, where Miami still needs help, and why the days immediately following the preseason finale could bring a wave of roster moves. Plus, the guys discuss the job GM Jon-Eric Sullivan has done so far, the importance of developing Miami’s young talent, and why Jeff Hafley may be the perfect coach for a young team trying to establish a new identity built around discipline, development and accountability.  Out to Pasture is presented by Ed Morse Sawgrass Automall https://edmorsesawgrass.com/ Out to Pasture is supported by Villa Italia Bakery. 76. Nothing to Hyde: That Was UGLY! Dolphins’ Preseason Disaster vs. Giants
2026/08/24
Welcome to the debut of Out to Pasture Presents: Nothing to Hyde, featuring award-winning South Florida sports columnist Dave Hyde alongside Miami Dolphins legend Kim Bokamper. Each Monday following a Dolphins game, Dave and Bo will break down what they saw, what matters and where Miami goes from here — with plenty of stories, laughs and unfiltered opinions along the way. In the first episode, the guys react to an ugly Dolphins preseason performance and examine the much bigger picture surrounding Miami's rebuilding roster. How patient should fans be with the new regime? Should the Dolphins turn the season over to their young players? Where is the pass rush going to come from? And with so many rookies potentially playing major roles, what should success actually look like this season? Most importantly, Dave identifies the one question Miami absolutely needs answered by the end of the year: Is Malik Willis the Dolphins' quarterback of the future? Plus, Bo and Dave introduce what could become one of the most important evaluations of the entire NFL season: press box food rankings. From Miami's disappointing halftime hot dogs to New England clam chowder, Green Bay bratwurst and Bo's infamous attempt to hustle the media out of $250, nothing is off limits on Nothing to Hyde. In this episode: What Miami's brutal preseason performance really meansWhy Dave likes the direction of the Dolphins' new regimeThe challenge of rebuilding with massive dead-cap moneyWhy Miami could start seven, eight or even nine rookiesThe Dolphins' surprising rookie wide receiversMajor concerns about Miami's pass rush and secondaryWhy Malik Willis is the biggest question of the seasonWhat Miami can learn from New England's development of Drake MayeBo's legendary Green Bay bratwurst storyThe debut of the Nothing to Hyde NFL press box food reportSubscribe to Out to Pasture and join Dave and Bo every Monday following the Miami Dolphins game for a new episode of Nothing to Hyde. 75. Dolphins Get a RUDE Wake-Up Call vs. Giants | Bo & Joe React
2026/08/20
The Miami Dolphins got a serious wake-up call in their joint practice with the New York Giants. Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose break down a rough day for Miami, as the Giants' pass rush overwhelmed the Dolphins' offensive line, Malik Willis struggled to find time to throw, the running game had trouble getting going, and multiple skirmishes raised concerns about discipline. Bo calls it one of the most ragged practices he's seen, while Joe says plenty of Dolphins players should be uncomfortable when they sit down to watch the film. It wasn't all bad. Bo and Joe saw encouraging moments from Miami's defensive front, including Jacob Rodriguez's interception and flashes from several young defenders. And despite a difficult day offensively, Joe remains intrigued by Willis' athletic ability—while stressing that the quarterback can't succeed without protection, receivers getting open and a functioning running game. With the next preseason game approaching, Bo & Joe discuss what Jeff Hafley's message should be to his team, which young Dolphins need to respond, and why this practice may have been exactly the kind of test Miami needed before the regular season. 74. Dolphins Get a Wake-Up Call in Washington | Bo & Joe React to Joint Practice
2026/08/12
The Miami Dolphins got exactly the kind of test they needed. Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose are on the road in Washington after watching the Dolphins' joint practice with the Commanders, and they're breaking down what they saw as Miami's young roster faced a much more experienced opponent ahead of the preseason opener. Bo and Joe discuss the growing pains in the Dolphins' secondary, concerns along the offensive line, Caleb Douglas making plays at wide receiver, young defenders who flashed and the players who still need to step forward as Miami searches for answers throughout the roster. Plus, the Malik Willis conversation continues. Is he simply the Dolphins' quarterback right now—or could he become their quarterback of the future? Bo and Joe discuss Willis' development, his growing leadership role and why getting meaningful preseason reps could be so important before Week 1. For a Dolphins team relying heavily on young players, this joint practice provided an important measuring stick—and Bo and Joe explain why getting challenged by Washington may ultimately be exactly what Miami needed. 73. Malik Willis is winning over Joe Rose | Bo & Joe Are Buying Into the Dolphins’ Youth Movement
2026/08/07
Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose break down what they’re seeing at Miami Dolphins training camp, including the early impact of the team’s young players and a rookie class being asked to contribute right away. Plus, Joe explains why he’s becoming a believer in Malik Willis, Bo and Joe share memories from their own rookie preseasons, and the guys look ahead to joint practices with the Washington Commanders and Miami’s preseason opener.  Out to Pasture is presented by Ed Morse Sawgrass Automall https://edmorsesawgrass.com/ Out to Pasture is supported by Villa Italia Bakery. 72. Bo & Joe Love What They’re Seeing at Dolphins Training Camp
2026/07/30
Miami Dolphins training camp is picking up, and after two days on the practice field, Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose are already seeing a different approach under new head coach Jeff Hafley. In this episode of Out to Pasture with Bo & Joe, the longtime Dolphins teammates discuss why Hafley's emphasis on 11-on-11 football, fundamentals, technique, and accountability has stood out from the very first practice. Bo explains why these practices feel more like real game situations, while Joe shares why the team's energy and attention to detail have him optimistic. The guys also break down several early standouts, including Jacob Rodriguez, Chris Johnson, Michael Taaffe, David Ojabo, and the competition along the edge, while discussing why this young roster is embracing every opportunity to earn a job. Perhaps the biggest storyline, though, is the mindset. When asked whether the Dolphins are rebuilding, Hafley quickly rejected the label—and Bo explains why that message matters inside an NFL locker room. Bo and Joe also discuss: •The importance of teaching fundamentals during camp •Why the defense is ahead of the offense early •Which young players have already caught their attention •The value of competition throughout the roster •What they'll be watching once the pads come on Out to Pasture is presented by Ed Morse Sawgrass Automall https://edmorsesawgrass.com/ Out to Pasture is supported by Villa Italia Bakery. 71. Training Camp Is Here: What Bo & Joe NEED to See From the Dolphins
2026/07/24
Training camp is here, and now it’s time for the Miami Dolphins to start showing what this new era might actually look like. Kim Bokamper and Joe Rose are back for another Out to Pasture with Bo & Joe, breaking down what they’ll be watching as the Dolphins hit the practice field. With a massive group of young players competing for opportunities, Joe says the Dolphins need to come out of this season knowing they “hit on some guys.” The guys also discuss expectations for first-round picks Kadyn Proctor and Chris Johnson, potential breakout players including Jacob Rodriguez, and the importance of developing both this year’s rookie class and Miami’s young players from a season ago. They also praise the Dolphins for getting new deals done with Jordyn Brooks, Aaron Brewer and De’Von Achane, allowing the team to enter camp without unnecessary contract drama. But perhaps no storyline matters more than Malik Willis. If Willis can establish himself as Miami’s long-term answer at quarterback, Bo and Joe explain how dramatically that could change the Dolphins’ future—and what they could do with their premium draft picks in 2027. The talking is over. Football is back, training camp is here, and now Bo & Joe finally get to see what this new-look Miami Dolphins team has.
