In this episode of Murder Murder on the Wall, Stacey and Kelly dive into one of Indonesia’s most notorious true crime cases: the death of 27-year-old Mirna Salihin and the conviction of her former college friend, Jessica Wongso. In January 2016, Mirna met Jessica and another friend at Olivier Café inside Jakarta’s Grand Indonesia mall. She took a sip of Vietnamese iced coffee, said it tasted terrible, and was dead less than an hour later. Police said the coffee contained cyanide and accused Jessica of poisoning her—but almost immediately, questions emerged. There was no full autopsy, the chain of custody was messy, and CCTV never captured Jessica actually putting anything into Mirna’s drink. Jessica was convicted of murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison, but the case—later examined in the Netflix documentary Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica Wongso—remains deeply controversial. So what actually happened to Mirna Salihin? And was Jessica Wongso guilty beyond a reasonable doubt? It’s well into the school year but Stacey and Kelly are feeling very academic. New clothes, new pens. Sometimes green pens that get left behind at a crime scene. Like how none of us can unsee or unfeel the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students who have heartbreakingly become the Idaho Four. Then we tell the story of Annie Le - a graduate student at Yale University whose murder should never be forgotten. Annie disappeared four days before she was supposed to marry her college sweetheart. Instead of walking down the aisle, she was brutally murdered by yet another violent man with an inferiority complex. It’s a theme, beauties, and we’re not happy about it. Happy Lunar New Year, Valentines! Today, Stacey and Kelly are doing a deep dive on the undoing of a picture-perfect marriage. There’s no such thing you say? Well we couldn’t believe it either but as it turns out, Suzanne and Barry Morphew’s marriage was anything but perfect. On Mothers Day 2020, Suzane went out for a bike ride and never came home. That is until 2023 when her remains were found in a remote area far away - and her death was deemed a homicide. Join us as we take a look under the hood of this very sad marriage, and wonder where things went wrong. We’re not wondering who murdered Suzanne, though.   Then - in honor of our two most recent holidays - we’re sharing our most favorite shades of pink and red in lipstick and gloss form. James Arthur Ray was a self-help guru who thought very highly of his abilities to ‘help’ people. But in October of 2009, a Spiritual Warrior retreat went way off the hot rails - and three people lost their lives. So never let anyone intimidate you if you are too hot and need some air! That goes for menopause and non-sanctioned sweat lodges.   On a much better path to spiritual enlightenment, Stacey and Kelly went to Korea Town in midtown Manhattan for some self-care with a surprise couples massage,  and a not-hot steam room because it was broken.
