The Singing Couch: EVP Evidence from a 150-Year-Old Artifact
2026/09/17
Send us Fan Mail
The Halloween countdown has begun! In this minisode, Traci and Kathy are back at the museum with one of the most talked-about objects in the collection: a 150+ year-old couch once owned by Thomas Day—a free Black master carpenter in antebellum North Carolina.
Day claimed that when he napped on the couch, he’d hear a woman singing spirituals outside his window – a sign from God tied to his mission to protect and free enslaved people.
When the couch arrived at the museum in 2016, a skeptical radio crew recorded an EVP they couldn’t explain. Since then, two more investigations have recorded the same phenomenon.
Kathy breaks down why she doesn’t think the couch is technically “haunted,” what a tulpa might have to do with it, and how visitors react when they hear the audio for themselves. Plus, the ladies preview upcoming guests, including Dr. Richard Gallagher (author of “Demonic Foes”) and a drop-in from internationally known medium and author Vincent Genna.

Historian Kathy Kelly shares the story of a hauntingly ordinary artifact: a camera-warning sign from Aokigahara, Japan’s “Sea of Trees” (often called the “Suicide Forest”). After a U.S. Marine stationed in Japan encountered the forest’s tragic reality, he carried the sign home and kept it for years—unable to throw it away, until he finally entrusted it to the Paranormal Museum.

Haunted Real Estate: “Buyer Beware – Ghosts Included”
2026/06/25

This week, Traci Stein invites her husband Jason “Doe” —a real estate pro with 30+ years of experience—on for his first-ever interview… and let’s just say he’s seen things that *don’t* show up on a home inspection.
Together, they unpack the strange intersection of paranormal activity + home buying: the childhood moment that still gives Jason chills, the long-running “activity” in Traci’s family home, and the Jersey Shore purchase that came with a little extra… personality.
You’ll also hear what they did to reset the energy (from rituals to renovations) and the surprising question:
Do you have to disclose a haunting when you sell?
Traci breaks down New Jersey’s disclosure gray zone and the famous court case that basically made ghosts a legal problem.

Jersey Devil & Baal: Why “Devils” Have Horns, Hooves & Tails (Season 3 Premiere)
2026/05/12
Send us Fan Mail
Traci + Kathy kick off Season 3 of Curious Explorers live from The Showroom in Asbury Park, NJ during the Jersey Devil Fable Festival—and investigate a paranormal pattern:
Why do so many “evil” beings come with horns, tails, and cloven feet?
They trace the look back through myth and religion — from Pan (a god, later villainized), Azazel (a fallen angel), and Baal (a god later recast as a demonic king—and suddenly trending). Then they turn to the Jersey Devil, the Pine Barrens’ most famous resident, and unpack how his imagery evolved—and why this 1700s story has a surprisingly "political" origin.
We also take a quick side trip to explore the viral AI-generated “demon-in-the-clouds” image on social media that reignited Baal (and Antichrist) speculation online.

Haunted Dolls: Love at First Fright
2026/01/26
Send us Fan Mail
Ever wonder why that vintage doll at the estate sale is giving you major bad vibes? Traci and Kathy crack open the creepy toy box on haunted dolls, from eBay's booming market to the A-listers of possessed porcelain (looking at you, Robert and Annabelle). Kathy spills the tea about her 100+ haunted doll collection – including the one that sent her running from the Paranormal Museum in the dead of night.
Meanwhile, Traci reminisces about a Dead Files gem: one woman, 2,000 haunted dolls, and a daughter who's really into death.
Find out who sent Traci a (possibly) haunted doll, and what possessed her to stage a full-on photo shoot with it; why spirits love seeping into tiny ceramic bodies; when "collecting" crosses a weird line, and the science behind why dolls creep (most of) us out.

Ghosts of the Myrtles Plantation
2026/01/20
Send us Fan Mail
Join Kathy and Traci as they explore one of America's most famous haunted locations: the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana.
In this episode, Kathy shares the story behind a unique artifact in the Paranormal Museum—a cutting from the oleander tree at the center of the plantation's most enduring ghost story.
But this isn't just another retelling of the legend of “Chloe,” the enslaved woman said to haunt the property. Instead, Kathy examines what happens when we strip away romanticized narratives of the Old South and the Myrtles legend, and confront the brutal historical realities of plantation life and the people who were enslaved there.
What You'll Discover:
The legend of Chloe and the poisoned birthday cake—and why the historical record tells a different storyHow ghost stories form around places shaped by systemic trauma and exploitationThe famous 1990s photograph that captured what appears to be a spectral figureWhy the Myrtles' haunting persists The significance of the Oleander tree as a “living witnesses” and the "DNA of a ghost story"Kathy's take on whether the Myrtles is truly hauntedThis episode goes beyond typical ghost story fare to explore how hauntings can be structural rather than tied to single events, and why removing one explanation doesn't remove the experiences themselves. It's an honest examination of how we tell stories about haunted places—and whose stories are and are not recorded.
Content Note: This episode includes frank, historically accurate discussions of slavery, s*xual exploitation, and violence against enslaved people.
